Does the AC power adapter jack of the Lenovo Yoga 910 allow data transfer?

Q: Does the AC power adapter jack of the Lenovo Yoga 910 allow data transfer?

Does the USB Type-C AC power adapter jack of the Lenovo Yoga 910 allow data transfer, like some USB hubs allow (for example, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y3YMZLZ/?tag=aboutcom02lifewire2-20)?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, This is my first post, Please let me know if this is correct forum. My Lenovo 11 Yoga recently had an issue with its power jack where the inner rectangular part came loose. I ordered a replacement power jack connector E54926 and was able to remove laptop cover and attach the replacement. Now, when powered - I can see a very faint "LENOVO" logo and nothing afterwards. So, I am unsure where the problem could reside.  I tried increasing the brightness which didn't help. Could you please suggest how to troubleshoot further. Let me know and I can fill additional details. Thanks in advance

Hello everyone, I purchased Lenovo Yoga 900 Ideapad and I am currently using it in India. The power adapter seems to have gone bad and I wasn't able to charge the laptop with the given adapter.  Since the laptop is under warranty, I contacted the warranty help line only to know that I need to take the laptop to the service center. At a service center, no one really knew how the USB 3.0 charging port works and couldn't check whether the cable was short or the adapter had gone bad. Anyhow, they decided to replace it under warranty but again, they weren't sure when and if the replacement would arrive (as it depends on the inventory levels with Lenovo India).  An exclusive Lenovo shop then offered me an original Lenovo power adapter with USB 3.0 charging at USD 70 but only when it got delivered, I see that it is 40W and not 65W like the original one I had.  65W adapter - the USB 3.0 connecter (one which connects the laptop) is orange. The wall adapter doesn't heat up while laptop is charging.40W adapter - the USB 3.0 connecter is yellow. The wall adapter heats up quite a lot while the laptop is charging.  The Lenovo store representative has assured me that this is the right adapter but somehow I am not convinced.  Can the community throw some light on this:- Is it safe to use a 40W adapter for a 65W specification?- Is there any way I can get the adapter replaced by Lenovo US (I can ship the faulty adapter to US)?- I... Help!  My Lenovo Yoga 3 14 is no longer accepting the charge from my power adapter. And, naturally, it could not have come at a more inconvenient time. When I unplug and plug it back in, it gives me the following message in the lower right-hand corner:"USB device not recognizedThe last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." When I click for details, it gives me this:"The last usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly." Except this isn't just any USB device - it's the ever-loving power adapter for this thing! I've tried everything and I'm at my wit's end. Any help?

I have a Lenovo Yoga 72015IKB and it crashes without the power adapter. Itīs a new problem, it worked without adapter before and nothing happened to the Ideapad. The battery says its fully loaded (100%).But removing the adapter, the little orange light next to the power adapter slot blinks as if thereīs very low battery. Furthermore the Battery test with lenovo vantage says thereīs no problem with the battery. I canīt update the new BIOS either because it says it needs battery to do it (with power adapter of course but somehow it wonīt to the update).Does anybody have an idea what to do to fix the problem?  Thanks for your ideas!

I have had powerline adapters set up for quite a few months now, but only recently have started to have this problem. I have my powerline adapter set up like this, router > adapter, adapter > access point, access point > PC. All connected via CAT 6 ethernet cables, however i have noticed a considerable drop in connection speeds in the past week or so and have no idea why. The data light on the powerline adapter mainly stays orange (medium transfer speeds), occasionally flickers green and often stays red.
My questions are:
1) Can having too many things plugged in in my room affect the performance?
2) The data light tends to go green if my pc is turned off, i have checked for malware extensively, even fresh installed my machine just to be sure. I have noticed that the light goes green if i turn the monitor off, could my monitor be limiting the network?
3) Could it be a fault with my powerline adapters, IE should i spend money on some new ones and risk still having the problem?
Any suggestions are welcome, i'm not sure what to try.

Windows 7 32 bit laptop ----> Windows 7 64 bit PC with USB network adapter.

I'm trying to move a folder from one computer to the other. There are about 300 files totalling 3mb.

At around "234 files remaining", the transfer freezes, and after a minute or so, the network connection on the destination computer is shown as Disabled. If I right click and choose "Enable", it makes the attempt, says "connection failed", and then "It is not possible to connect at this time. No network was detected. You may need to plug in your network cable to complete the connection."

What will fix it is unplugging the USB network adapter and replugging. But it only allows a little bit more transfer before it happens again.

I tried initiating the transfer from one computer, and again from the destination (bringing the files to it), but the problem occurs just the same. On additional attempts it will reconnect to the other computer and allow me to browse the files, but the connection crashes again without any more progress. My internet connection is fine otherwise, doesn't do this unless I'm transferring data across the network. I disabled Eset real-time protection but have windows firewall up (I'd rather not turn it off).

Any ideas on this one?

Anyone know what sort of connector is on a 40 GB Toshiba MK4012GAS laptop hard drive (as fitted to an Advent 7026.) It looks as though it slides into an edge connector on the m/board, a bit like a smaller version on a PCI card, its certainly not pins into holes as on the wrong adapter I've already bought.

If it's in any kind of warranty, send it in.

Otherwise, if you're comfortable working on a computer, the replacement part seems to be readily available and inexpensive. I'd start with replacing the jack and THEN seeing if it'll boot.

Hi, My son's Yoga 700-14 2-in1 has developed an unreliable power connection - the USB connector has to be positioned at a very precise angle for the battery to charge.   (For some reason, it's worst when the battery is <20% charged and becomes more tolerant when the battery is fuller - seems wierd but pretty sure it's not my imagination.) Both the cable and the male connector for the supply seem to be in good condition.   There's nothing visibly wrong with the dc port inside the laptop (hard to see but in torch light all pins look intact and not bent), however, I suspect this might be the problem and needs replacing (perhaps a loose internal connection). Has anyone else encountered this problem or done this repair?  It looks easy enough based on photos of the internals - the wiring isn't buried under any other components. Is there a quicker fix that I'm missing?  I guess I'll check some voltages with a meter and that there are no loose connections before ordering a new part. Thanks Stuart

Hello! So im going to buy the lenovo yoga 720 15 wich has a 512 gb ssd, so i want to upgrade it. Do i have to do it on another laptop? or is there any other way to do it? I dont know much about this program so if you know better how it works and tell me it would be a bonus. The links from where i read how to do it are here:https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/storage-ssd-getting-started Thank you so much

A:Yoga 720 SSD upgrade data transfer

I'm assuming you've already confirmed the 720 takes an NVMe. The parts lookup just shows PCIe.

You'll need an enclosure such as this one for the transfer. Then, just swap out the SSD and it should all boot normally. Most SSD manufacturers include cloning software or you can download it from their websites.

4 year old laptop wasn't charging properly, it was being very fussy about the exact position of the power cable in the socket. It has what looks like a pretty common power connector for lenovo, which is a USB sized hole with a single centre pin. I looked into the laptop socket and saw that as well as the conductor for the centre pin and the outer sides, there was also 4 little tines on each side between the centre and the edge which were clearly all bent off in wrong directions (looked like an old toothbrush inside) I'm guessing the centre pin is +ve, the tines are -ve and the outer connections are just mechanical/shielding. I straightened these all out with a pencil but I think I must have momentarily shorted something as now the laptop shows absolutely no signs of life when I hit the power button. Tried various tricks I've read online about various sequencies of hitting the power button with the battery in and out but no luck. The laptop was fully charged before I started this, but I didn't disconnect the battery before starting which I probably should have. So I'm guessing I've shorted the power rails on that connector. What damage have I likely done? I'm amazed that there can be a design where very flimsy pins inside an external connector which are clearly easily bent can cause such damage if they touch another pin 2mm away from them. Is there any way to save this laptop? If it's a case of replacing an SMD fuse soldered onto the motherboard I can do th... Read more

Hi

I have a Lenovo Yoga, i7, 4GB Ram running Windows 10.

Both USB ports (one 3.0 and one 2.0) stopped working at the same time, however they still do power/charge any devices connected.

When plugged in, usually it pops up on the screen with the old "what do you want to do with this?" but now nothing happens.

I have looked around for any help but most threads about it on the internet just feature other people chiming in with "I have this problem too".

I have gone into Device Manager and disabled and re-enabled all the things under USB, but no success so far.

Any help or pointing to a place that has instructions to actually solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There are 5 wires (counting from left): 1 - blue, 2 - black, 3 - black, 4 - red, 5 - red. I need the following information:1. What is the function of each wire (ground, power supply etc.) and required voltage on each wire once AC adapter is on?2. Are 2 black wires (wires 2 and 3) internally connected? I checked with multimeter and among all pairs of all 5 wires, only those 2 wires are shorted? Is it correct?

Hi!I accidentally broke my notebook's power jack (2 of 5 wires broke off from their pins). The number of the part I need is DC30100KQ00, but at the moment I hardly find any (ebay's shipping can take up to 2 months, and I don't have that much time). My question is what are the differences between these parts? Otherwise, can I cause any trouble if I try to replace it with a part from a different model (e.g. G500)? Thanks,Mozes

Earlier this week I stood up while holding my Y540.  The power brick, which is quite heavy, fell off the desk and ripped the power cord out of the DC-IN power jack.  The plastic clips that hold the power cord in place were destroyed, and now I can't get a stable power connection anymore. I'd like to replace the DC-IN power jack on the motherboard.  The problem is I can't seem to find the part anywhere.  Lenovo won't sell it to me (it's an FRU only part) and I can't find anywhere online that sells an 81Q4 power jack. Does anyone know if there are other compatible DC power jacks I could use for my Y540?  I'm quite comfortable replacing parts on a system board, I only need to find the appropriate part.   Thanks for any help you can provide.

I recently bought a Yoga 900 Laptop running Windows 10 Home and I am facing a peculiar problem. I normally back up my files in external usb drives. I have some portable external drives (2.5 inch) and some desktop external drives (3.5 inch). All are USB 3.0 compliant. The desktop external drives are separately powered while the portable one are only connected via a USB 3.0 cable. When I transfer video files to the portable external drives from my Yoga 900 I get an average transfer speed of 125 MB/s. There is no interruption during this transfer. When I transfer the same video file to the desktop external drives the transfer is very very slow and for extensive periods of time it shows transfer speed of 0MB/s. The total time taken is triple that of the portable drives. After noticing this, I have reinstalled windows, updated all hardware drivers from the Lenovo website. Cleaned the registry and even done selective start up by removing some 3rd party start up programs, I have also switched off write caching and switched it back on again but the problem still remains. I also find that when I connect 2 external USB drives (one portable and one desktop) and I try to transfer the same video files from the porrtable to the desktop there is no problem there also. It is only transferring files from the internal Laptop drive that has this issue. I have 2 other laptops (one running Windows 10 Pro and one running Windows 10 Home) and when I transfer the same f... The Yoga 3 Pro power adapter looks like a normal USB brick, and the cord looks like USB, except with a kink in the connector at the Yoga 3 Pro end. Can I charge my phone or tablet with it?

A:What's with the Yoga 3 Pro power adapter - it's a ...

Yes the Yoga 3 Pro power adapter is a USB charger too!

How does it work?

The special "fool proof" charging cord has two extra pins on the AC adapter end and two extra pins on the Yoga 3 Pro end. The extra pins only make a connection when the fool proof cord is plugged in to the Lenovo charger and the Yoga 3 Pro. When a regular USB cord is plugged into either the charger or the Yoga 3 Pro, it makes a regular USB connection.

Can I charge the Yoga 3 Pro with any USB charger?

No. The Yoga 3 Pro requires 2A at 20V, which is what the provided 40W Lenovo AC adapter supplies.

Can I charge a USB device with the Yoga 3 Pro AC adapter?

Absolutely. In addition to 2A at 20, the Yoga 3 Pro AC adapter supplies 2A at 5.2V (10.4W), enough to charge a phone or tablet. Works for iPad.

Where can I buy spare AC adapters and cords?

AC adapters with cords are sold in the accessories section of the Lenovo store.

Where do I find the part numbers for the AC adapter and cord?

Look for AC Adapters In the PDF Yoga 3 Pro Hardware Maintenance Manual.

What are the USB specs of the Yoga 3 charging port?

It's a USB 2.0 port. It provides enough power to charge an iPhone, but not enough to charge an iPad. If you want to charge an iPad, try the USB 3.0 port on the right of the Yoga 3 Pro.

I have an Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro and can't find a 12V DC car adapter anywhere. I have just bought an Lenovo 65W DC Travel adapter, but it dosn't have the right connecton til the notebook (USB). Is there a slim tip to USB converter or any other solution to connect my notebook to 12 Volt DC?

A:Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro and need a Travel / Car adapter

Welcome to the forum.

From what I can see this system uses a proprietary USB-like connector with a small notch on one corner. I'm not aware of a car charger for this format, either from Lenovo or from third parties. This blog explains some of the issues: UPDATE: Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro External Battery and Car adapter. See Update April 19, 2015.

Another option would be a 12VDC-to-110/240VAC car inverter, then use the standard AC charger that came with the Yoga 3 Pro. That is, of course, less efficient.

Hi,  recently I was traveling and lost my charger, the only one I could find was a Insignia USB-C 90W charger: https://www.insigniaproducts.com/pdp/NS-PWLC908/5880500  It seems to work just fine, but I was wondering if it would somehow damage the battery? Would anyone know if this might be the case?  Thanks!

Hi, I had bought this Yoga 900 here in USA, my wife had to take this to India and the power adapter stopped working after some days. I am looking for this compatible in India. The authorized service center  folks there didnt have it and asked us to check with CS. Where can I order this online and get it delivered to India?
