I want to install windows 10 using usb external hard drive.and drve has two partition. how did i boot usb external hard dirve in other internal hard dtive

Preferred Solution: windiws inst

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

ok. so after having problems before with having to back up nearly 700GB of storage, on a computer thats in my bedroom and sounds some what like a low flying helicopter, when i had a system crash, i did a back up almost twics a day, so that they would only be backing up little chunks at a time. this all wored well and good until recently

i got a virus on my computer so had to do a system restore to earlier that day (virus is gone, gotta love malbytes anti malware) but when i came to doing my end of day backup it was slow. very very slow, so i had a look in my backup drive, and it turns out it is creating a whole new backup! its crazy!
having to back up 530GB of stuff will take far too long, and i dont trust using a system image (enless someone can convince me otherwise)

so is there any way to re-activate the backup so it overwrites my old backup, not create a new one, or maybey a backup prgramme thats alot faster?

The Imaging backup/recovery speed is not a function of the Imaging program ..
It’s that the System contains a huge amount of personal Data.
I don’t trust W7’s Imaging either .. So I use Acronis True Image.

Here’s a W7 Imaging tutorial if it helps any.

You could use Acronis to make a new Full Image backup, but it will take a long time and will it will contain any leftover problems from your malware attack.
You can tell Acronis to make a new Full Backup or just an Incremental Image Backup.
You also should make a W7 Repair CD .. You might need it

You need to get your huge amount of personal Data out of the C System partition.
Your current method has several problems.

Imaging is great for backing up an operating system .. But NOT if it contains lots Data.
If you have lots of Data in the system .. It will take a long time to make a full backup or perform a recovery.
There is No faster Imaging program if the system contains a huge amount of personal data.
Incrementally Imaging the system will also backup any problems the system may have acquired.

I have partitioned my HDDs so the System and any Data are in separate partitions.
My Data is manually backed up as I create or collect new Data … via Drag n Drop.
My System stays small and is Imaged only after I perform a Fresh Install or recovery from a Fresh install Image (after it’s updated).

My backup HDDs also contain a bootable copy of a fresh System restore for the ne... Read more

I hope someone can help. I have 6 machines networked and all are running Windows 2000 pro. One of the machines has my HP832c connected to it by a USB port. I have shared the printer in that machine to everyone. I also checked all the permissions so all users can operate the printer and settings. This is my home network. The other computers can see the printer and can use it if they log in. The printer shows up in the other computers as the default but if you reboot any of the other computers you have to relog in to use it? Is there a way to have this network printer automatically connect when the other computers log in??? The Computer that has the printer connected to it is always on.

A:Network Printer on Windiws 200o pro

Do you mean you get a password prompt for access to the printer when you start the machine or try to use the printer? If so, you need to create accounts on the machine with the printer attached that are the same as the accounts on each machine you log on to the network with. Say one machine has the logon of James with a password of Winters, you have to create an account named James with a password of Winters on the machine with the printer connected to it. Then windows will verify behind the scenes the logon for the printer access each time a machine reconnects to the network.

Hi I am looking at a PC which has an expired version of Norton Antivirus on it. The problem is that when you try to open web browser window it immediately goes minimised and you can't maximise it. IE and Firefox are both affected. You can run them fine if you boot in safe mode. It has been suggested to me by a friend that the Norton could be at fault or that it might be a Virus. Has anyone come across this before or have any suggestions as to what is causing this?

Hello, this a bit of an odd problem, but I've used this forum in the past with success, and hopefully I can get some advice on this problem.

About 2-3 weeks ago I made a post on these forums about my other computer receiving an email virus, and had eventually run ComboFix and everything was okay. On that computer I realized that for some reason the option to show hidden files had recently changed, and that I hadn't made it. I initially believed Combofix made the change, so I attempted (stupidly) to run Combofix on the computer I'm on now to test my theory. (I found out later that plugging in my iPod somehow turns the view mode off.) Anyhow, I ran ComboFix fine, uninstalled, then I found out the iPod was the problem. Just for laughs I decided to check the ComboFix log and found this entry.

c:\documents and settings\Vincent\Application Data\inst.exe

A quick Google search told me that this was a pretty nasty trojan, and someone else on bleepingcomputer reported the same find being related with a major rootkit infection. With the computer I'm on now, I hardly download from the web and always run any .exe through VirusTotal and AVG before I run it. I have however recently plugged in a Flash Drive in this computer and my other computer, and am wondering if it may have caused the infection. I checked my secondary computer and found no such .exe file, but... Read more

I'm building a new PC for my wife, I have a 2TB HDD and I want to setup a primary Partition of about 100Gig for the OS and the balance as a Big data drive.

I want all the data to automatically goto the "D" partition. I used to do this all the time, now I have employees that do it and I gave them all off till the 3rd of January and its been too long since I did this.

I own a Computer Co we have a multi-user OEM license from Microsoft as a reseller and I know we have a utility (or used to) to make a Pre-Install CD to setup a computer as the install automatically continued unattended.

I want everything to goto the D Partition of the HDD that needs to be setup my wife isn't really computer literate so I don't want to require her to have to change settings whenever she downloads files or installs programs.

I sure would appreciate some assistance from anyone. This is really embarrassing I'm one of the first 100 Microsoft OEM's and had Action Pack since they started. But I'm committed to not calling one of my employees during their time off.

Thanks in advance for your assistance, This is her Christmas Present, and I'm stuck.

A:Dell Issue - Fresh Win Inst on new HDD

It's possible the Recovery Disks are looking for the Dell Recovery Partition before they can start a restore but I have not heard of that issue. You can go here to get the install media. Pick the same version as what you have. This would probably be Windows 8.1, 64bit Your key is embedded in firmware so you should not have to enter it. If you start the install of Windows 8.1 and it asks for a key, then we will have to use linux to retrieve the key that is embedded in firmware but first download the media and see if it installs without inputting a key.
Edit: Referencing this post from a BC Advisor
However many manufacturer's use their own custom configurations which might not include the necessary configuration files ( automated Diskpart script etc ) to perform the bare metal recovery

This may be your case where the Recovery disks would not work on a bare metal recovery, i.e. a new hard drive install.

I read some articles about EasyBCD,etc but I?am not shure if my problem can be fixed with there utils. Can I install WinVista to a "logical" partiotion? /win 7 is on "primary"/

A:Win7 + Vista X64 dualboot inst.error :(

According to Can Vista boot from a logical partition? several users have experienced no problems installing Vista and running it from a logical partition. I suspect the problem actually lies in the fact that Vista did not add itself to the BCD Store correctly, and that Easy BCD should help you fix it up....

My hard drive crashed on my Dell Studio 540 - Vista Home Premium. I had gotten some help on the Crash and Debugging forum, however it turned out to be a hardware issue. Dell installed a new hard drive the other day. Since that happened the video/graphics are all smaller on my 24" monitor. All of the text and icons in the tool bars, system tray, etc. are a lot smaller than they were with the old hard drive. I manage to enlarge the desktop icons. I also went to Display and changed the DPI from the standard 96 to the large 120. This made the text larger but still not as large as it used to be. I called Dell but they were not a lot of help.
I'm not great with computers but I know a little. I don't know if there is some type of setting I should change.

This is probably not the solution, because Dell would have picked up on it, but did you try to change the resolution

Something seems to be funny with win8 and the intel storage driver.
I don't know the details.
Station-Drivers: le site de drivers, bios, firmwares avec un forum d'aideThere is an intel storage driver with patch.
Asus recommends not to uninstall the intel storage driver.

For me this means: when you don't have it, don't install it.
When you need it, such as for raid, keep up with the latest intel drivers.
Be careful with uninstalling it.

Personally, my practice has been not to install it any more, as it has caused only hardship for me.

This version is available from station-drivers:
drivers + patch
Dell mentions:
Problem: A blue screen occurs when you attempt to
uninstall the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver in Windows 8.

Solution: The Intel Rapid Storage Technology is
considered a critical boot path driver and uninstalling it, is not supported. Be
sure to update your Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver from the Dell Drivers and Downloads website before upgrading to Windows 8.

Our Pavilion DV8 is getting on now but does still work fairly well (good as a spare PC). I've worked around the well known internal Wifi problem by using a Netgear USB adaptor but I've never had success sorting out a replacement battery that actually worked so gave up. Rather worryingly I still have the original battery installed in the laptop which hasn't held a charge for many years and it is starting to concern me it may start leaking at some point. I would like to know if it is safe to completely remove the battery and only run the laptop on the AC power connection? The thing is, I'm sure I recall reading somewhere (way back when I bought it in 2008/2009) that the laptop should 'not' be used without the battery installed. I've recently found the manual again but can't find where I might have read that information. Needless to say I'd appreciate any advice from anyone who has completely removed their battery and is only using AC power without the laptop blowing up or something? Thanks

Hi, I have UPS therefore I can say safe in my case but I don't know power supply situation in your country / area therefore I can't say safe or not. It is ok to use AC w/o battery if - and only if - no unplanned power outage in your area. Because loosing power supply suddenly could cause unpredictable damages for your computer specially HDD. Regards.

I am considering buying a 256 SSD for my older G62-219CA. Can I somehow backup or clone JUST the recovery partition so when I install the new SSD I can put the recovering on there and have that convenience for later use? I can't close my entire hard drive b/c the SSD will be too small compared to the original drive.  Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ToddNS

A:Possible to backup/clone Recovery Partition only before inst...

It is not really possible to backup or clone the recovery partition. Your best option is to create the HP Recovery Media using the Recovery Manager or to order the media from HP at DVD - Windows 7 64b Dual Language (Office 2010) + Supp 1 Recovery Kit. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the White KUDOS "Thumbs Up" to show your appreciation

After the anniversary update to W10 I lost the touchscreen functionality to my S1002.  I attempted to reinstall drivers contained in the Platform Driver download package and the update returns an error message, killing the process.  I disabled the windows driver certificate requirement, reloaded, and still got the same result.  Any solutions would be appreciated!

Is the error "unsupported OS" ? If so you may need to use compatibility more.

The sound reproduced by them sometimes (usually when I switch the computer on they are working well) is laggy, crashes and does strange noises. The volume also goes down significantly. The problem doesn't seem to happen with headphones plugged in. Any tip of what i should do to fix this problem? Thank you.

Hi, Can you post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of your Omen - you can usually get this by holding down the fn key and pressing esc, otherwise see Here for a guide on locating this information. Regards, DP-K
