I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, I've been using my Thinkpad T440p for only few months, When I plug in the charger, battery doesn't charge and doesn't show anything (as if the charger is not plugged in at all). - The charger itself is working.- If i removed the battery and botted the laptop with cahrger plugged in it works.- if the laptop is off and i plugged in the charger the battery will charge.- Whenever I plug in the charger while on battery, the power light blinks but without charging. I've tried to uninstall ACPI Power driver and didn't work, I've tried to update BIOS and it isn't possible as the update require both the battery and charger to be connected which is not possible. Please help

Hello, I have reinstalled Windows 10 Pro with the ISO image from Microsoft. I had to, because after installing Lenovo Companion and Lenovo Settings from Windows Store and updating all the drivers (and 2 BIOS updates), my computer stopped working. Now my computer runs on clean Win 10 Pro and with the latest Business branch updates only. Yesterday the dreaded "Plugged in, not charging" problem has started (I've experienced it before on my TP E430 and I had to change the battery there). The battery is stuck at 79%. I emptied the battery two times, but it didn't help. Any ideas what I could to? I'd appreciate your help. Thanks.

I think my gpu and cpu is kind of overheating. GPU reaches at 47-50C idle, CPU temp stays around 58C-69C when in idle. When i use heavy task like photoshop and dota 2 game session it reaches cpu 90-91C, gpu 78-80C. Is it normal to heat like that? I used to have G580 and HP pavilion 15 before. But they never reached above 76C. If yes i'm planning to dissassemble and clean inside. Sorry for my terrible english.

  Hello,

I upgraded my lenovo thinkpad t440p (20AN00CBRI) from Windows 7 professional x64 to windows 10 . Now, after all the updates (provided by microsoft and lenovo) to the laptop I encounter the following problems :

>> the Power Manager aplication from windows 7 it's not present anymore on windows 10. I understand that on Windows 10 this it is not needed anymore but this is a big issue : " The CPU FAN is not working at the same speed like on windows 7 and It is very slow (!??!?!) " because of this the laptop heats very bad and it is very deficult to use specially for typing . :(
>> Another thing, I thing the heat dissipation in the design is poorly done for a laptop meant for business .
>> Also, the heat (left side of the laptop CPU, GPU and SSD ) always present by heating I mean > 50 Celsius degrees even in idle mode with the battery out from the laptop and no aditional software installed but only the default upgraded windows 10 .

Please let me know if this is " known heating issue with lenovo thinkpad t440p product code 20AN00CBRI " with this product. I want to get a replacement but hopefully without the heating problem . And let's not forget this is an expensive product designed for business ussage and it is kind of disappointment that it's not delivering the necessary fiability for a business product !!!

But it runs out of charge very soon. It shows me the low battery level indicator as soon as I use it on the screen. First day of usage (appox 4 days ago) it gave me about 30 - 45 minutes of continuous. But after that not more than 5 minutes. Please let me know if this is an issue with the Pen or Laptop charging port. I had read some other post about it, just in case check that "contacts" to make sure they are touching with the charger when you put the pen into it's holder. Sometimes the contacts may move.

You didn't say how old that laptop is and if it has the original battery and charger.

A laptop battery will lose the ability to charge and have burn time as it gets older.

Dear community members,   I bought an original lenovo 9-cell lenovo battery for my X230 thinkpad, after 1.5 month it s performance decreases gradually. Hi, I have a 3 year old (ish) T540p which all of a sudden is giving me this message when the ac power adapter is plugged in.  I have two adapters as I have the docking station also which I normally use and neither of these adapters are working.  I have read some posts on here and tried all of the suggested actions to rectify this but none seem to be working for some reason. Funnily enough in the Lenovo Vantage application I tried to do the battery gauge reset and as soon as i set that off the laptop started to charge and got up to 100%, i left it for a good couple of hours and didn't seem to move on to the next part in the cycle which is to drain the battery so I cancelled it.  I thought that the fact that it had started to charge might have reset something but alas I'm back in the same position where I'm getting the plugged in but not charging message. I've recently updated to Windows 10 but the chargers have worked fine since, now for some reason they are not. Can anybody give me any help troubleshooting to try and sort the problem out.  Is it likely to be the battery which needs replacing or is there someting else that it could be perhaps? Thanks.

A:T540p Thinkpad plugged in but not charging

What about your battery threshold settings? When you're doing battery calibration (gauge reset), it's a common thing that your inducator stucks at some percentage of charging and discharging. I suggest you to turn off any threshold you set, turn off the machine, turn it on with no battery, then turn it off and re-set the battery. What about discharging? Is it normal? Try to discharge it to below 50% and then plug the charger.

A:Thinkpad Yoga Charging Indicator

Hi Rango,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to inform you that Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga doesn?t have a dedicated indicator for charging status.

The illuminated dots in the ThinkPad logo on the outer lid of your computer and on the palm rest show the system status of your computer:

? Blinks for three times: The computer is initially connected to the power.
? On: The computer is on (in normal mode).
? Off: The computer is off or in hibernation mode.
? Blinks fast: The computer is entering sleep or hibernation mode.
? Blinks slowly: The computer is in sleep mode.

Hope this clarified your query!

Best regards,

Hello everyone,About a week ago, I got an error message saying something like the battery cannot be identified (I'm trying to find a screenshot somewhere).Since that moment, the battery does not charge when the AC adapter is plugged in, while the battery is nearly full (>90%).I found this thread and it fits exactly to my problem: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Thinkpad-Yoga-14-battery-quot-plugged-i... I understand that this behaviour might be a feature to improve the batteries lifespan, but I really want to get rid of that. The Lenovo Settings App offers the option to manually set the charging-threshold to 40-100%, but setting it to 100% or turning the feature off does not change anything.Another side effect is that the charging process does not begin until about 1 minute after the AC adapter is plugged in.I didn't knowingly change anything on the software configuration when the problem appeared, the said error message appeared while watching YouTube-videos. lg, couka

Hi, welcome to the forums.

I do not know a solution for your problem, but I want to suggest you some trial an error to see if it can be software related issue.

1) Check the Lenovo Settings and see if it asks you to update the System Interface Foundation drivers.
2) Check the support site and just in case check that you have the latest BIOS and the latest "Lenovo Power Management Driver for Windows 10 "

After that check the "Lenovo Settings" and give it a try turning on the option of "extended the battery life", set it to a 80% and give it some time for it to discharge. After that disable that feature to see if the battery charges back again.

Also on "Lenovo Settings", on the same "battery/power" page it has a "restablish" options, maybe you can also try that later.

Sorry that this is just some trial and error, but it is what it cames to my mind right now.

Regards

The Problem is: It isn't charging at all.Now the strage part: If I plug the same cable into my OneLink+ adapter and connect the OneLink with my computer it is actually charging. The problem could be caused by the ThinkPad BIOS Update - 7 (V.1.21.1.14) I did a few days ago. I'm not sure though and I have no idea how to undo the update. Configuration:ThinkPad X1 Yoga Type 20FQ, 20FR.Windows 10 Pro (newest version (KB3206632))Ask me, if you need more info.Odiously neither the power adapter nor the battery are causing the problem.  Kind regards B.
