Vista + outlook web access = loading.....forever!

Q: Vista + outlook web access = loading.....forever!

Hi there,

I have 2 email accounts that I check mail through Outlook Web Access 2003 on my home computer running Vista. Up until earlier this week I had no problem doing this. Now everytime I try to logon the pane on the left with all my folders is displayed, but the pane that normally shows my email just says "loading...."

Any suggestions? Anyone else having this difficulty?

Preferred Solution: Vista + outlook web access = loading.....forever!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just recently upgraded my computer to Windows 10 but I noticed my Outlook 2010 emails have been a bit slower and then today it says loading profile when I try to open it but my emails won't open. This is not the first time that it has happened. Anyone know what it could be? I'm thinking there is something running in the background that is preventing it from opening it up.

Ok.well my ASUS laptop with Vista home premium is having some trouble.. first notice windows freezes ... next vista welcome window stays on loading.......... till I turn it off and restart in safe mode with network... Then the unthinkable ... all my pictures, all my documents, all the restore points, ALL anything that I added to this hard drive for the last 4yrs.... IS GONE!!! and now nothing is saved after I reboot.( ok Im in safe mode) I have reloaded the service pack 2... found out some drivers can not update. I looked at the event manager ... OMG that list is too long. I remember sometime last year their was an Microsoft update that wiped everything off like it was a new laptop...But I had a restore points to go back to fix that one. 2 days ago my laptop appeared to be ok. Turned it off that night and in the morning all was gone. But I am hoping the light is still on at the end of the tunnel for this hard drive.

Hi. I have an old Compaq laptop (says Presario A900 on it) running on Vista. A while ago, it froze, so I had to press the power button until it turned off. Now, when I turn it on it starts up normally with the black screen and the 30 secondseconds to start Windows regularly. I can log in fine, but if I click on Chrome and search something, it freezes. Sometimes I don't even get that far. I click on the Start button and the blue loading circle comes up. It doesn't do anything after that. The circle keeps going like something's loading. Occasionally it will freeze and I have to manually restart it. What's going on? Thanks.

I have windows 98 with ie6 and firefox 2 installed. My problem is that oftentimes it takes 2-3 minutes to switch from one open window to another or to open a new web page. My computer whirs and clicks forever and while it is doing this I can't do anything else ecept press alt-ctl-del to end the process and even that takes a long time to accomplish.
At first I thought it was a problem with ie6 so I installed firefox. Firefox worked fine the first few days but then it began behaving like ie6 taking forever to navigate between open windows. I tried disconnecting from the internet by turning off my dsl modem but the 'puter just kept whirring and clicking.
I ran a reg scan with cc and it reported no issues.
Any ideas?

Please note, I am typing on a DIFFERENT computer (IP address) than my other PC that has the problem - specifically a Windows 10 "Forever Loading" Problem, I believe. It is a 3 year old DELL, with Windows 10, so I cannot run the above suggested SysInfo Utility.

That said, I had an automatic regular Windows 10 update, which took forever and ever. While it seemed to be finishing; my DELL logo appeared, then I get my welcome screen and it allows me to very S-L-O-W-L-Y type my password; then my center screen wallpaper appears, but never any of my desktop icons. After much passed time, my task bar appears but no icons on it. The time appears in right hand corner of task bar, but the real time never advances. Lastly the dreaded spinning blue circle remains in the blank Task Bar. I have tried unplugging overnight, restarting, and the same thing. The Windows start button appears on task bar, but nothing works, because nothing has loaded on task bar or on my desktop. I have left it on overnight in hopes of a wishful escape of this endless loop it is stuck in.

Checking online, I have tried various suggested processes (getting to Task Manager, trying to restart explorer.exe, running new task (msconfig), tried to get to Safe boot to reboot, but cannot do any of those things due to the dreaded spinning blue circle. I simply can't get anywhere except to Task Manager, but nothing actually works within there either. Help Please?

So i got this Dell Laptop to fix...weird thing is

it will be stuck on the load-up screen for 15-20 minutes or more, then logging in will take another 10-15 minutes...

I tried looking into the system configuration through msconfig

disabled most of the startup programs down to the two most important ones
also played around with the "system services", but no luck...both will still startup the laptop really slow...

it has a 1gb ram and all updates/drivers are installed...

i also tried swapping the hdd with another laptop, still the same thing. I do not suspect it to be a bad hdd

but even after swapping the hdd, it will still take a very long time to load up and login....

occasionally the explorer.exe will shoot up to 50% CPU usage without me doing anything...

i believe these two are related in some way...

any ideas...thanks in advance

Could I possibly be infected? I am having problems with accessing any and all webpages. At first, I thought it was just a Mozilla issue, but the same problems occur in Google Chrome and IE. I will type in a URL and press enter and sometimes it will take forever to load, and if I click on the link again, it will bring it up instantly. It seems as if it is stalling. And other times, if I click on the link for a second time, it will say "done" on the bottom left hand side, but it will certainly not be done! I have been having this problem for weeks now and it is driving me crazy!
I have run Spybot, Adaware, Spyware Doctor, Malwarebytes, my AVG antivirus scan, and the free Symantec one on the website. Nothing has been found wrong!
I tried restoring my computer to 4 different restore points but they were all unsuccessful.
I tried uninstalling Zone Alarm, thinking that was causing the problem, but nothing changed. I had k9 web protection on my computer, but uninstalled it weeks ago and I am still having problems. I have the same problem running my wireless or using an ethernet cable; on my network and at a friend's house.
Please help!

So i'm having an issue where my cover photo and profile picture won't change on my laptop (aka lockscreen). The pictures currently on my lockscreen were my old cover photo and profile picture on facebook, and have since changed on facebook. I uninstalled and then re-installed facebook. I made sure profile sync was turned off and everything. Now, I changed my profile picture for microsoft, and that worked, except on the lockscreen page it is the same old facebook picture.
With the lockscreen wallpaper, it will not let me change it at all. In the personalization settings, it will let me browse for a picture, but will not load the preview.
I have tried everything. I've spent two days on the forums trying to figure this out. I have done the sfc /scannow several times. I have checked for virus. I checked to see if the new update messed with it, and I couldn't find the exact update everyone else was referring to; it didn't exist on my computer. The only thing that worked at all was when I did the registry editor, and disabled the lockscreen altogether. (computer>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>POLICIES>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS) I didn't have a personalization file, so I made one and added the NoLockScreen option and set the hexadecimal value to 1 to turn the lockscreen off.

Now the issue, I would like to have a lockscreen. I do not care is it is my facebook profile and cover picture at all, I am just getting very aggravated by the constant picture that I have to see every ti... Read more

IE, Opera, FF Chrome, all have problems loading the same websites while other sites load right away.

Here are the steps I have taken to resolve the issue with no success over the last couple of days:

1 Deleted and reinstalled all browsers with no add ons.
2 ipconfig /release..... ipconfig /renew
3 I use ccleaner all the time
4 swapped ethernet cables with the two other computers
5 swapped ethernet ports on router that other two computers work fine with

About a week and a half or so ago loading media files takes forever. Whenever I click on a MP3 or AVI file it takes about 30 secs before it loads. In the meantime I get a Windows Explorer has stopped responding dialog and I can either shut it down or wait for it to load.

I've run Spybot, Adaware, and installed ZoneAlarm. I keep getting a message that my computer is trying to access another comp on my network.

I've also tried restoring to an older restore point with no luck. I have no idea what may be causing this. Any help would be massively appreciated.

As the title says bringing up a YouTube page doesn't load all thumbnails including my own in the top left and users/videos ones. Page looks like this:

This happens in Chrome and Firefox. It started about a week ago apparently when some script froze and I forced it to stop running. It's really annoying since it usually stops comments loading and videos too sometimes. I did try wiping everything and reinstalling FF if you're wondering.

Sorry if this is the wrong subforum to post in, not sure where else to post.

My problem is windows 7 takes a long time to go past the welcome loading screen when it's loading the OS. (FYI- Win7 came preloaded when I purchased my laptop)It takes about 5-10 mins to finally load onto desktop.Never took so long before up until last night.Once at the desktop...I can't open my programs like normal each time it freezes/lags/slow as molasses if you will .Then I'm able to open up a program and it continues...Sometimes the screen blacks out and never returns so I reboot.Whatever trojan/virus is present manages to disable McAfee protection each time I start up.I would have to go in and enable it each time I'm logged on.Steps I've taken:***I've tried booting up via safe mode (same thing happens).***I've ran the startup repair (could not detect a problem).***I've Cleared out my temp files.***I've Defrag my laptop.***I've ran spybot search & destroy(found the following Doubleclick,Win32.Agent.ws,Zedo)***I've done a system restore to a point where my laptop worked like charm.***I've ran full MBAM (safe mode) scan results...(no malicious viruses detected).***I've ran full McAfee (safe mode) scan results( no viruses found).I wanted to see what could be done first, before I attempt a system recovery which is at the bottom of my totem pole, don't want to lose my data. My GF just got a new Toshiba laptop (Dual Core Centrino T-5500, 2 gigs of RAM, yadda yadda), loaded with Vista Premium and Office 2007. For her job, she uses Outlook Web Access frequently, and we've discovered a problem.

When logging in to reply to a message, forward a message, or simply compose a message, upon hitting Send the IE windows with Outlook Web Access and with the message would simply close and reboot to the IE home page. Of course, any new message text would be lost. The IT guy for the company she's consulting to told her to uninstall the S/MIME utility. We did that, and now when we open up a message to forward/reply or a new message, the message body window is grayed out with the "broken picture" icon, as though it was a Flash screen that failed to load. A quick search thru Microsoft's Knowledge Base seems to indicate that it's a conflict with Exchange Server 2003. What can we do to her computer to correct this? She had IE7 on her old laptop with XP and Office 2003 Professional, and that never had any problems. Any thoughts? Thanx in advance.

A:Conflict with IE7/Vista Premium and Outlook Web Access

It must be fixed on the server. Microsoft removed the DHTML editing ability in Vista, a component that Outlook Web Access relies on. There is no client side fix except to change to XP.

Here is a link to the fix if it helps any.

In Outlook 2002, a feature is added that notifies users that the connection to the Microsoft Exchange computer is taking longer than expected because of network congestion or server availability. This connection can include connections to the user's mailbox, a free and busy server, or any other server that Outlook may need to communicate with to fulfill a request for information. When such a delay occurs, the following Cancel Request dialog
box is displayed:

Outlook is retrieving data from the Microsoft Exchange Server server_name. You can cancel the request or minimize this message to the Windows taskbar until Outlook closes the message automatically.

Users in my office get this quite often... I understand why it happens, and changing the behavior on the desktop so the dialog box either isn't displayed doesn't FIX the problem, just hides it from view. What I dont know though is WHY this is happening on my network? What could be the cause of this? Is it a bandwidth issue, server related problem, if someone can offer some suggestions I would appreciate it. Some times this message appears and stays there indefinitely,
users get very agitated when they can't do something as simple as opening an email, or deleting a contact. Please help me figure this out! Thanks.

Only use CCleaner for cleanup, not registry "fixing". I would look at a hardware solution. There are many tests available. Possibly zero in on PSU or RAM. Also see what happens if you disable the firewall and AV.

I have been dealing with this problem for about a month and a half now. It seemed to pop up just after I made some changes to startup config., I copied Reason 4.0 (music production program) and World of Warcraft to my 500 gig external hard drive and have ran both those programs from either my internal HDD or external HDD and also save data on both. I may have changed bios/cmos during that time but it's unlikely. About a 6 months ago I overclocked my computer, and a year ago I installed an extra 500mb of ram. Also my tower tipped over about 2 months ago while it was running but the hit wasn't hard and the computer kept running normally. If you run the Hardware Diagnostics you might be able to find the cause of this continuous Slow Hard drive issues.
Further I would suggest you to run scan of good Antivirus and spyware which might be able to pick some infections from your system. Try to disable some start up items by going into MSCONFIG.

A:Vista Installation taking forever

Interesting and frustrating problem....

Try this:
Download Ubuntu or Fedora (Linux), and put in on a flash to make it bootable. From there, plug it in, and boot from it from BIOS. If you can boot just fine, try using the "Install to HDD" icon on the desktop there to install it to your HDD. This will require a reformat, but thats good since you are reinstalling anyways. If this install works well, and quickly, then we know your drives are all good. (If you do this from a CD first, and it still is slow, then try it off a flash drive. Your drive could be bad)

So. I got Vista Ultimate on my computer.
It's great, smooth and everything, but there's one problem: it takes forever to shut down.
Every time I have to force-shutdown - press & hold the power button for 5 secs.
Once I had to go to this class, I shut it down before leaving, and when I got home, it still says "Shutting Down".
What's the problem, and how to I fix it?

I recently purchased a HP Pavilion PC from Buy.com. The specs are:

Windows Vista Home Premium
AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+, 2600 MHz
350 Gig Hard Drive
2 Gig DDR2 ram

The problem I am having is that some programs take extremely long times to run. When downloading updates from Windows Update, I'll sometimes wait over ten minutes for the updsate to begin installing. The longest part if the update process is waiting for a restore point to be created, which I understand can take a while with a large hardrive. Other things take a long time to run or install as well. My printer, which I've updated with the newest drivers for Vista, can take five minutes or more to begin printing. After it starts it works fine, but it takes ages to get to that point.

Another program that took a long time to work was the uninstall of a Nero trial. It took almost a half hour for the uninstall to begin.. The window stopped at "Preparing Uninstall" with the progress bar moving, but it just sat there. Finally I left the PC to go to the restroom, and when I returned it had begun the uninstall.

I haven't added any programs to the PC that didn't run rock steady on my old XP system, and I've made sure to update any drivers or old versions as Vista recommended. I don't believe it's anything I've put on the PC myself, anyway, as it's been doing this almost since the first boot. Has anyone else had similar problems, and if so, is there a fix? I'm close to wiping Vista out entir... Read more

Every time I try and install SP1, it stops at 99%. It goes on forever; it is not frozen, it just never finishes the install. I left the computer on overnight for over eight hours. If I cancel the install, the shutdown screen says not to close because it is finishing. If I leave this alone, it goes on indefinitely. I have also left this on overnight for eight hours!

Hey guys, my sister has a compaq presario pc with windows vista. her computer literally takes at least 10 minutes to load once she enters her password. The screen turns black and stays that way for about 10 minutes and everything about her computer is SLOW. I checked some of her specs and noticed she only had 1 gb of RAM. I bought her an additional gb of ram to give her 2gb total. The computer reads the new memory module i added b/c when i check it says 2gb's. But this didnt seem to help, any suggestions on how I can get this thing to work normally? Please help, Thanks!

A:Vista takes FOREVER to load

Click 'Start'

In the search area, type 'Defender'

Click 'Windows Defender'

At the top, click 'Tools'

In the Tools area, click 'Software Explorer'

In the category drop-down, click 'Startup Programs'

Disable any programs that you might not use.

That should take care of your problem. If it doesn't, you may need to remove some non-working devices that Windows is trying to load drivers for. Let me know how it goes.

Hi, ever since this past few weeks, vista has been taking forever to load. I tried waiting for about 2 hours and it still shows the loading screen. It happened after vista crashed due to a blue screen error. I tried safe mode and other modes but it still took forever. I did try boot logging, and it never produced any log even after an hour of waiting. I checked using a live cd OS. Other operating systems like solaris and linux which i installed on other hard drives loaded fine.

I tried taking out all the PCI cards and left just the DVD drives, hard drives and graphics card, and leaving in just 1 new compatible and well working ram stick but it still took forever.

I've tried the recovery cd, but it just didnt manage to fix the problem. I've also tried restoring the OS and running checkdisks but it still didnt solve the problem.

Can anyone help? i need to use the development software there quick and some other software which isnt available or working for unix.

Tons of errors upon logging in, always asking for a file saying that some .dll could not be loaded. I did some research online and most say that it could be a faulty drive. So I did 'chkdsk /r" and after scan, was told that problems were found and fixed but no change in system.

Takes forever to load, tried system restore to no avail. After system restore, I started getting errors trying to go back to the system restore feature. Minimal information from the owner, he didn't find the XP OS CD although Recovery Console is an option but I am not too familiar with it. Able to log-in in Safe Mode.

I/O error status of "0xc000009a" with [Click on OK to terminate the program] and [Click on cancel to debug the program] for such and such a program.

Is formatting the hard drive through the Recovery Console the only option?

I am stumped by this one! Please help!
