Live Mail Reply goes to Another Person

Q: Live Mail Reply goes to Another Person

This only happens to one person who emails me. I have them in my Windows Live Mail contact list with the correct email address. I have triple checked this.

When they send me an email and I hit reply (or even reply all) this bogus email address is plugged in at the top "[email protected]". I have no one in my contact list with this email address. This is not the senders email address. So why is this happening? Where is this email address coming from? If I let the email reply use this it comes back with some error.

What I have to do is delete this when it comes up when I do a reply and replace it with the correct address.....once again just for this one person. When I asked this contact about this they have no idea what I am talking about.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This is most probably because the sender has set up a different Reply-to address:

Ask sender to check what Reply-to address he / she is using.

To check and change a Microsoft email (applies to all Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com & MSN.com and respective .co.uk, .co.jp etc. email accounts) Reply-to address, log in to your Microsoft email web interface, click the Settings button in top right corner, left to your name, and select More email settings:
Click Reply-to address:

Hi, All.
Have been running Vista (ugh!) on my laptop for 4 years now, but lately (and I have no idea why) after I have collected my Mail, I am then faced with a request to approve replies to some, not all, of the mail I have just downloaded thus:

"A program is attempting to send the following e-mail message on your behalf:

To: <email address>

Subject: Re: <subject of new email>

Would you like to send the message?"

Send/Do not send

There doesn't seem to be any way of turning this response off, and I sometimes have to sit there for several minutes clicking "do not send" until they have all finished. Really annoying.

Anyone seen this before? Any and all help appreciated.

Dear Fellow Experts of IE6,
I am now facing with a very peculiar problem.
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook S6130 notebook running on Windows XP Version 2002 SP1. The IE6 was bundled with the OS. My current IE version is Ver 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.050501-1526.
I have a 4Mbps broadband linked to a Linksys WRT300N Ver 1 router.
My problem started since about 3 weeks ago, and during that period I did not install any new hardware or software. The main problem is everytime when I tried to reply to an e-mail from any web based e-mail service like Yahoo Mail, GMail and others by pressing the "Reply" button, I will get a error "Page Not Found" error. The same problem occurs when I tried to forward my e-mails. However, I have no problem whatsoever in reading my e-mails, surfing the internet or downloading any files. The speedtest show I almost always have a 4Mbps download time.
I have a desktop with IE 7 having the same broadband connection through the same router and there is no problem at all with replying or forwarding to any e-mail. I also borrowed another much older notebook with IE6 and also do not face any problem with replying or forwarding to any of my e-mails.
I have tried all the remedial measures posted at http://support.microsoft.com.kb/326155 except meddling with the registry, a step which I am uncomfortable with, but failed to rectify the problem.
I did a virus and antispyware scan and all came out negative. I have also tried system restore and b... Read more

I am the mayor of a small city. We have monthly meetings. We are moving this month to 21st century and everyone will have laptops, with the city secretaries computer connected to projector. All laptops are Windows 7 Professional. They are all networked, w/ internet access, along with access to the city?s LAN.

If we wanted to be able to Instant Message, share our desktop w/ other members, share our desktop with the projector, what would our options be to use something free or out-of-the-box Windows to accomplish one or all of these? What about Windows Meeting Space?

Other dilemma. City Secretaries screen is shared with projector. What if I wanted to Instant Message the secretary, but don?t want message displayed on screen?

As a service Citrix's go2meeting.com

Can do all of the above plus record the meeting, have individual (or all chats) show desktops, etc. Can be used via VOIP (computer) a phone conference, and other media.

Free to try for 30 days. I use it elsewhere and it is a much better alternative than Skype.

We purchased our laptop for $550.00 in May 2015. In July 2016, TWO months out of warranty it died. We have taken it to Staples and Best Buy to see if it could be repaired (both places charged us a fee to look at it) and if I recall were told it was the motherboard and would be costly to repair. I have attempted to reach a real person at Acer for over a month and continue to get sent to the warranty company (who will charge me for service) who today suggested I post on this board. I have called FOUR different numbers listed on their website and am either disconnected because the warranty is expired or get sent toThere was no abuse to the laptop, my boyfirend and I are the only ones who use it. I am saddened that a $550.00 laptop stops working 2 months out of warranty and I have no means to contact the company directly to address this issue and that after a month of calling and searching I am having to post on this blog in hopes someone will contact me.

Is it possible to receive an e-mail from a blocked person on Live Messenger?

A:E-mail from blocked person

If they have your email address, sure. Blocking Live Messenger doesn't block email. You have to block email either at your ISP's server (webmail) or by your email client on your computer. Personally, I'd block it at the server level so it doesn't even get to my email client or my computer.

I have found only limited information on this topic:http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer....mp;topic=12786#My situation involves my e-mail address being similar to another person's with the same name, e.g. johnsmith [at] yahoo.com compared to john.smith [at] yahoo.comI am wondering if there would be someway to block the e-mails from coming to me. I do understand that periods do not make a difference within an e-mail address per the article listed above. But is there any way to block these said e-mails, or could I tell the person sending them to do anything to fix this problem? Thanks.

A:Receiving Another Person's E-mail

Hi HamSandwich.Totally depends on how you access your e-mail.You mention both yahoo and gmail in your post. If you go to a website and log-in to access your e-mail, you have them re-direct it so that it doesn't end up in your inbox. How to YahooHow to GMail. If you use an e-mail client such as Outlook, Outlook Express, etc, you can setup filters and rules within that client. There are also third party tools.Really need a few more specifics.

A:Transferring letter information to an e-mail person

Do the document in Word or whatever word processing program you use and after you save the file Highlight the words or text you want and use copy and paste to take the text to an email that you want to send just have the write open and paste the text in the email and then address and send.

For the past week or two, I have not been able to reply to, or forward email.

Using Windows Live Classic version under IE 6.0 on a WME platform.

I have no trouble opening and reading any email from my inbox, but when I try to reply or forward, all I get is a small sliver of space to type in. The sliver is scrollable, but the screen is not. There is no way to expand the sliver.

I've been using MSN and Windows Live for many years. This seems to be a new problem and it seems to me that the problem is on the server side.

Does anyone else have this issue? I have searched, but can't find any others...

I would appreciate any advice, clues, or tips that you can offer.

Is there a simple solution that I am missing???

Thanks,
OldJoe

A:Reply/Forward problem on Windows Live Classic

I also noticed that various attempts to reply or forward email had the side effect of reducing system resources to as low as 3%, which would destabilize the system making it necessary to reboot.

I decided to increase my screen resolution from 800X600 to 1024X768.

This reduced the severity of the problem, and opened up the sliver somewhat so that 10 or 12 lines of text are visible rather than the 1 or 2 lines that I had before.

I have no idea what is causing this problem. Has anyone else had this experience?

MICROSOFT should read this thread. I sent them feedback but I doubt if they read it...

But yesterday, Adrienne tried to reply to Peggy's e-mail and was met with an error message from her Verizon server saying the the e-mail address "Peggy" was rejected. Upon checking the e-mail Adrienne tried to send, I found that the "To:" box contained only "<Peggy>" -- no '@' and no domain. I checked the header on the e-mail she was replying to, and it had the correct address -- [email protected] But any attempt to reply ignored that header and just plugged in "<Peggy>".

I have vista home premium 32 bit on my laptop. My email server is WINDOWS Mail and I am having a problem. If someone from my company emails me it comes in fine. When I reply however they receive a mess of data at the top of the reply message which appears to be giving them all kind of information about my laptop and computer info. If I generate a new email to anyone in my company they receive those fine. SO, it appears that replying is the issue.

Any help out there?

Tom..

A:Windows Mail problems when you reply

Please open an email showing what you mean. Have someone send you back an email with this data included if you don't have an example. Then please take a screenshot (you can erase any personal information like the actual e-mail addresses or names first in Paint before saving as a .jpg file) and attach it to your next reply.

Does this also occur with forwarding? Does it happen when you initiate and send a message normally (not as a reply)?

Thanks!

I purchased a new HP with Windows 7. When I go to remotely access my office e-mail, it comes up and I can read it, but a red x appears in the text window when I hit reply, and I cannot enter any text.

Is this a problem between Windows 7 and my office mail server (Windows XP)?

What do I need to do?

I'm running Vista and using Windows Mail. I can recieve emails no problem and when I reply to an email it gets the recipient fine.
However, if I create a new email and send it goes out of my outbox but the receipient never recieves it. I have spoken to LCN who host my email and they have run tests to hotmail, gmail and business accounts. They say the email get through to the recipient server fine but they cannot track them from there. Trying this myself I can confirm that there are not getting through to regular contacts inboxes at business and webmail accounts and they are not even going to junk mail.
They said to try changing the outgoing to my ISP SMTP details which I did but still no joy. They and my ISP have both said this is all they can do. I've turned off my anti-virus can for outgoing mails as well but still have the problem.
Everything was working fine till a few days ago. When I called LCN they said my nameserver needed updating, which they did, and that it would take 24 hrs for the DNS propagation. It's now been 3 days and still the same problem. Email host and ISP say they can't help. I've checked and I'm not on a blacklist...help!

It could be something as simple as incorrect spelling in the mailserver. for example:

If your mailserver at lcn is email.lcn.com and you type by mistake email .lcn.com (note the space between email and lcn)

check the account settings and verify they are correct. If you can r... Read more

Just wondering if anyone else has had the following experiences recently;

First, when I opened Windows Live Mail today, one fortnightly recurring event notification from my Live Calendar started sending reminders via Live Mail to me. About ten events were immediately loaded and showed as Emails in my In Box. I deleted [unopened] all the subject Emails, followed immediately by emptying of the contents of the Deleted Folder.

However, the Emails kept coming, and the only way to stop the problem was to open the Calendar, select the subject Event and delete all future recurring instances. By that time, Emails for notifications into the middle of 2011 had been received, and I treated those the same way as detailed above.

Second, for the first Email that I wished to send after this strange behaviour, this anti-spam security clearance panel appeared;

I needed to complete the clearance, before the Live Mail email was sent.

Now I'm left wondering what this was all about?

This is a slightly annoying problem. I've disabled Windows Live Messenger from starting up, both through Messenger's options and through MSCONFIG. The program doesn't start when Windows starts. But when I log on to Windows Live Mail through a web browser, Messenger starts up on it's own. I cannot figure out a way to disable this. I've looked through Live Mail options and can't find anything to denote starting up the program. I only use my Live Mail account for junk mail, but need to check it occasionally and would prefer it if Messenger didn't start up on it's own.

the specific entry you'll want to disable is "Windows Live", which corresponds to the
