Wifi connection constantly drops when lap top is operating on battery power

Q: Wifi connection constantly drops when lap top is operating on battery power

My computer is a Toshiba Sattelite o/s win 7. My wi fi signal is excellent, yet my signal keeps dropping or saying limited access. I have tried resetting the router and resetting my default windows settings on the computer. All other lap tops and wireless devices in the house do not have an issue. I discovered the other day as long as the laptop ( not the router) is plugged in and not running on batter power that i do not have a problem staying connected. For fun i wondered if it had something to do with the power cord making some kind of connection when plugged into the lap top, (since everything is more compact in them) I tried having the power cord plugged into the lap top but not into a power source but I still lost signal. Any suggestions?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Sounds like you may have some power saving option for the wireless adapter when on battery. If so, try a higher (e.g., maximum performance) setting.

My attachment shows that for the plan I'm using I have 'medium power saving' for the wireless when on battery. If I were having your problem I would change that setting to 'Maximum Performance' and test.

Hello,
My laptop consistently manages to drop its connection, despite every other device in the house managing to access websites just fine, my iPhone 6 for example.
My WiFi connector is Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter.
Sometimes as I connect to a website, this pops up:
"Your connection was interrupted
A network change was detected
ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED"
Or sometimes:
"There is no Internet connection
Try:
Checking network cables (these are fine since other devices work)
Reconnecting to WiFi (also fine since my laptop says I am connected and have Internet access even though I don't)
Running Windows Diagnostics (when I did this last time it just said "No problems detected" or something along those lines).
I am using Windows 10 and when I open the WiFi list, it says I am "Connected, secured" to my WiFi.
I have run Malwarebytes AntiMalware, CCleaner, Adware Cleaner, Malwarebytes JunkWare Removal Tool, MalwareBytes AntiRootkit and Avast Antivirus Free.
No viruses/trojans found.
Could someone help me to see if there is anything hidden or if its something else?
Thank you!

Some people have had success by disabling, not uninstalling the LAN adapter in Device Manager. Windows 10 seems to have an issue when both the LAN and Wifi adapters are enabled. Also set our Wifi adapter to maximum power in the Power Options of Control Panel.

greetings!

i have found a few threads here that describe problems similar to mine, but nothing exactly. i've also used those threads to do a bit of troubleshooting, but nothing has worked.

i connect to wifi on my computer, it works fine, no problem. my tv is connected to my pc via hdmi. i get video and audio fine on my tv when i'm using it through my pc. the problem is when my tv gets power, the wifi on my pc drops, and it stops recognizing all of the wireless networks in the area that are normally on the list. it still will see my network, as it is set to automatically connect to it, but when i try to connect while the tv has power, it will not. it's not just when the tv gets turned on, but when it actually gets power, when it gets plugged in to the wall socket. when i unplug the tv, all of the wireless networks pop back up on my list, and i can connect to mine with no problems.

i'll also note that when my tv has power, and i have no wifi on my pc, i still do have wifi on my phone. the router is about 10 feet from me, in another room.

my network adapter is a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter and i'm running windows 8.1. tv is a toshiba, not a smart tv.

uninstalled and installed newest drivers for the network adapter. it's set to not turn off the adapter to save power and it's set to high performance. i've run the troubleshooters both when the tv has no power/pc has wifi, and when the tv has power/pc has no wifi. it always says there is nothing wrong wit... Welcome to the forum!

Your post is a bit confusing. You talk about HDMI and WiFi which have nothing to do with each other. Plugging in HDMI to the TV should have no affect on your WiFI unless you have a computer hardware problem.

Also no mention of router make/model. Computer make/model would be nice too.

Going by what you describe with the TV it sounds like your computer's HDMI port is messed up. Have you tried different HDMI cable?

Hello everyone,

I've been fighting with my ISP for months over this, but it just might turn out that they may be telling the truth for once.

Basically, I have an unlimited mobile 4G plan with three SIMs, each of which is in a 4G Android phone, the hotspots of which I use alternately as and when needed.

In our household are two desktops and three laptops, all running Windows 10 Pro, and one laptop running Lubuntu.

In about November 2015, I started noticing that my connectivity speeds would drop from multiple gigabits per second to an average maximum of about 512kbps after a certain amount of data (usually two gigabytes downloaded and uploaded) has been consumed within the respective 24 hours; speed would go back up to 4G levels the moment the clock hits 12:00 AM every night. The throttling affects all machines and all SIMs.

I took on my ISP with this, and every agent I ever talked to said that they don't have a fair usage policy in place for subscribers of unlimited plan - in fact, that one of their marketing points; they even say so on their website. They firmly denied the implementation of a fair usage policy even after I showed them screenshots of the moment the connection speed dropped.

I even tried running YouTube continuously on my phones for a stretch of time to see what happens, with YouTube's autoplay feature turned on, and, indeed, I noticed that after a while of running videos at 1080p, I could barely run any videos at a resolution higher than 144p.

I've always thought so highly of HP and as such, decided to purchase an HP laptop - an HP Envy 15-K233ca Notebook. I have had some issues from the start and one in particular, is making for a rather unpleasant experience. The wifi connection keeps dropping.  It drops when the system is put in sleep mode, when I surf the net and even after a reboot.   I walked through the issue (and a few others) with HP's  help desk this evening and after 2 hours was met with the same problem.  I am now having to reboot the computer and troubleshoot to try and maintain a wifi connection.  This is my first experience with an HP Laptop and I'm disappointed.  It's unfortunate, but I may have to return it.  I'll be walking over to Apple for a replacement.   If someone from HP can resolve this for once and for all, it would be helpful. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to return the unit. Note:  I've noticed that others experience the same issue.  I requested that HP's Help Desk install drivers to resolve the issue.  If this didn't work after our session this evening, then I'm afraid it may be a hardware issue.

Good Evening,  I recently purchased a Lenovo Erazer x315 for my girlfriend which worked fine for the first week. Now however the Wi-Fi keeps dropping connection, though it shows it?s still connected and she has to manually disconnect and reconnect to the Wi-Fi. It has disconnected her 4 times in the last hour as I've been trying to google solutions. She did the scan via the diagnostics page on this website and nothing failed. We thought it could be her router taking a dump, but her old laptop has been able to maintain a connection throughout her disconnects. The tower is primarily used for Teamspeak, Archeage, Minecraft, YouTube, FB, and a few artsy programs she has. Don?t know if any of that would affect it. Any help would be appreciated, being that I'm in the military, gaming is our main source of keeping in touch. The constant DC's are kind of aggravating to say the least.

My laptop is an Intel Pentium Inside, made by Toshiba.

From what I can tell, my laptop is the only one in the house that seems to have issues with its wireless connectivity. At any given point in time, it will just seem to have issues staying connected, drop the connection for a few moments, and then restore it a few seconds later.

Now, while this doesn't interfere with internet usage very often, this does mean that Instant Messengers and things such as chatrooms are frequently exited out of for me, which has grown to be very annoying.

Every time I move my laptop from one room to another or shut down the computer and start it back up, it drops the connection. Recently, it has even started randomly dropping the connection throughout the day.

I'm at wit's end, and I have no idea what to do. Can anyone help me with this?

I have a Netgear WGR614v.5 wireless router connected to my Quest DSL internet connection. My HP Pavilion laptop has problems connecting if it is not sitting in the same room as the router. The built in wireless card (Broadcom) will not see the network at all once it is in another room and the card I bought (D-Link) will pick up a connection in various places in the house, but will drop the connection if the computer gets moved my even an inch, sometimes less. It's extremely eratic. Both cards are included in my list of approved MAC addresses, and have the correct WEP password. There are three other laptops (Dell, Tosiba, Apple) that belong to family members or friends that have no problem connecting at all. The network signal is strong throughout the house. The settings on my HP are all equivalent to the settings on the compters that work, so I'm can't figure out why I can't connect. Anyone have an idea?

Hi, i have been having some problems with my internet connection in that it drops constantly, as in every 20 - 30 minutes or so. I live in a house where there are three laptops in operation but mine is the only one with this problem. i have tried moving to different areas around the house but this still doesnt help and the problem persists. It is even worse when i am streaming something such as a video or when im on skype sometimes dropping out after 5 minutes.
I thought it might be my computer but it also happens on my phone at the same time as it drops on my laptop.
about a year ago my laptop did overheat which damaged some of the components and that has been a persistent problem also but the last time this happened was about two months ago and this problem with the internet has only been present for about a week!
I am at a loss and have no idea what why it is happening or how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thankyou.

Hi,
I have a Toshiba M45-S359 notebook laptop. About every 20-30 seconds, the wireless connection drops off (and immediately automatically reconnects). This is not a router issue because I tried 2 different routers (Linksys and Netgear) and also the wireless connection is perfectly stable on the other laptop I have. There are no interference issues. My phone operates at a very different (5.8 GHz) frequency. Also, the issue exists even when I have the laptop sitting very close to the router. Any suggestions/advice? Thanks in advance.

Every day or so, my wifi connection will no longer have internet access.  I have 2 HP Pavilion's and 1 Lenovo.  This is the only one that has this issue.  I've had the hard drive replaced and everything reinstalled for other reasons, but the issue with internet connectivity is still there.  If I hover over the WiFi icon in the lower right coner, it tells me right now the NETGEAR router I'm connected to and says Internet access below it.  When I've dropped internet access, the icon will have a yellow mark on it and hovering shows my NETGEAR router but it says no internet access. All I have to do is disconnect from my router and reconnect and I'll have internet access again, but that gets irritating. Could this be a hardware issue on my laptop and how do I determine that?  I'm still under warranty for another 2 months.

Hope someone can help with this!

I've recently got a new modem/router hub and when I try to connect to it wirelessly, it'll connect, but then my computer will drop the connection and won't get it back until I restart. I'm certain it's a computer problem and not a router or modem problem since my mother's netbook can connect and stay connected for hours. The router is in my living room and it doesn't matter where my computer is, whether it's in the living room too, or in my own room, the connection will still drop. When I open up "Connect to a network" in Vista, there are absolutely no networks in the list, even though I know there are plenty in my apartment block. The wifi switch is on, and the list only refreshes when I restart. The connection can drop at any time, whether it's 5 seconds after I've connected, or 30 minutes, but it does it a lot and it's becoming infuriating. I hope someone can help with this because it's driving me nuts already!

Any advice will be very much appreciated and if there's any specs that need to be supplied, I can definitely do that.

Thanks in advance!

Nikki.

Alright, I moved to Windows 7 Ultimate x64 a few weeks ago, and everything's been working fine, until this past week. Every now and then, my wireless card will start having hiccups, dropping all connections, losing its connection to the access point, and then reconnecting, all within 30 seconds. Everything will then be fine for about five minutes, then it'll repeat. It starts doing this randomly, and stops doing it randomly. I have only had it happen at home, however, I'm hesitant to pin it on any of my network equipment, as I have several laptops and desktops that all are working fine whenever this occurs, and are connected via WiFi and Ethernet to my router. Sometimes rebooting stops this, sometimes it doesn't. If I shut off the computer for six hours, it stops. Rebooting the DSL modem and the access point doesn't help, as the symptoms continue afterward. A:Sharp Aquos drops wifi connection daily

do you have a PC with wireless at all - or a laptop you can put near the TV
it maybe channel interference , and it would be useful to see what channel your router is on, and what other signals are on

if you do have a PC please do the following
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and install the program.
You will now need to take a screen shot and copy that back to the working PC and attach the screen shot in a reply on the forum here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply

http://www.xirrus.com/Products/Wi-Fi-Inspector.aspx ( the site now appears to require a business email, so try the direct link below)
Direct link to the program is here http://info.xirrus.com/Wi-FiInspectorConfirmation.html

So, I've had this problem for literally years now. When I am using an ethernet cable to hook up to my router, my PC's connection drops dozens of times a day. It's a real pain, especially when I'm trying to stream something to a TV. In the past, I have circumvented this issue by using WiFi, which is perfectly stable for whatever reason. Problem is that WiFi in my new place is awful. I literally get connection speeds of 1 Mbps from my WiFi card up here in my room. So now I'm redoubling my efforts to find out why my ethernet is so unreliable, because I need the increase in network connection speed (it's only 100 mbps because I use an ethernet powerline adapter - but still).

I have tried purchasing an ethernet card because I thought the mobo port might have been broken - but the new card exhibits the same behavior. I have tried messing with the settings (going from "auto" to "100 mbps full duplex" etc.) to no avail. I've tried swapping out my ethernet adapter and my ethernet cable for new ones - same behavior. I even moved into a new house, got a new modem and a new ISP - same exact behavior. The adapters work on every other device in the house. Only my PC has this consistent issue and it only happens when I'm wired.

So before I go and buy some expensive range booster or whatever, I was hoping that someone here might be able to suggest a few solutions or help me troubleshoot. Thanks.

Hi,

My computer has recently started to drop the WiFi connection, reconnect after a while and at times, not even detect my WiFi connection for a while. Then repeats the process for no apparent reason, I'm not sure when exactly thus problem started as I had been using Ethernet cable up until last week. I am certain that this is not related to my router as 3-4 other devices in my house can access the internet perfectly fine.

I have tried doing a power cycle of the router, restarting the notebook, re-installing/updating drivers and cmd ipocnfig /refresh (and other commands along those lines)

My notebook model is the hp pavilion 3132tx- windows 7 64bit, intel I7, 8gb ram and uses a ralink RT3090 network card.

Ps: the problem appears to be alright if I use older versions of the driver (have tried 3.1.18.0 and the default one which came with the notebook [which is older than it]) however, I would prefer not to have to use the older versions as task manager says that its link speed is only 39 mbps whereas versions 5.0.5.0+ would show 79 mbps

Thankyou in advance.

A:Notebook drops wifi connection randomly- Ralink network card

It sounds to me like a signal problem. A competing signal drowning out your wireless signal can cause these kinds of random losses.

To test for this try this program:
inSSIDer for Home – Discover The Wi-Fi Around You | MetaGeek
It will tell you if you have a stronger signal in your area that is interfering with the channel.

Hi,

Do you have any apps or services hogging the CPU?

Maybe there is something in Task Manager using 90%+ CPU. If not, maybe there is dust buildup in the heatsink or some other cooling problem.

If you turn on eco mode, does that extend the battery to 2+ hours?

I have 4 laptops and all are able to hold the network connection except one (Sony Vaio)
It drops out constantly. I am continually having to go to network connect and reconnect it even although "Connect automatically" is ticked

The bytes sent and received are much lower than the other computers

Running Windows 8.

Very frustrating when this is the busiest laptop

Assuming integrated adapter(s) install or reinstall the latest driver(s) from Sony's web site.

Is this happening with ethernet, Wi-Fi or both?

Hey guys, Purchased a yoga 720 two months ago and in the beginning it would drop the WIFI connection maybe once a week. Over the last few days it's been dropping the WIFI connection every 5minutes or so.  After it drops it'll take some minutes to reconnect again unless I go to device manager and disable/enable the network adaptor. I've already tried updating the driver and no difference.I've already set the power plan for the network adaptor to 'maximum performance' and no difference. Surely there has to be a fix or something I can do?

A:YOGA 720 constantly dropping WIFI connection.

Open up your Event Viewer and see if there are any WLAN errors. If there are a lot of them, then Windows update has probably wrecked something.

If that looks normal, download WiFi Scanner from the Windows store and see if one of your neighbors is interfering. If so, and you have a recent dual-band WiFi router, split the bands into different SSIDs, force the router to sit on a 5Ghz channel where there's no interference and force your 720 to connect to your router's 5GHz side only.

If that's still an issue or you don't have a dual-band router, then start looking for things that interfere with WiFi, such as LED lighting, microwave ovens and so forth.

There's another thread going on this if you want to look at that.

Immediately after a power outage, my internet connection predictably drops after a set period of time or usage. It is either after about 30 min or 5-15 mins of watching Netflix. I have a modem hooked up to a wireless router and use the network on my iPhone, laptop and Roku. Since the problem, I have dropped to just having my laptop connected but this has not helped. The wireless network will disappear after the 5 - 20 mins, the light on the modem and router will show no internet (all other lights are normal). Internet connection will be reestablished if I either unplug both the modem and the router (not just one or the other) OR if I unplug the ethernet line from the modem to the router and plug it directly into my laptop (the internet light on the modem will go from "off" to "on"). Despite internet connection working from transferring from the router to the laptop if I connect it back to the router, the internet lights goes off again (resolves upon unplugging and plugging modem and router back in). The internet has not yet dropped when it is physically plugged into my laptop.

I have tried the following:
-Powercycling (temp fix until it crashes again)
-Plugging into a different outlet (I cannot connect it to a different phone line, only have 1 with DSL. Also, I do not have phone service or cable, just internet via DSL)
-Resetting modem
-Resetting 2 different routers
-Calling ISP, their test of the modem was inconclusive

Again, my wifi does not see my n... Read more

I was thinking electrical just from the thread title. Reinforced by your first five words: "Immediately after a power outage."

Whether the Westell and/or Linksys is damaged or if the whole cause is the "funny" electrical system I cannot tell. I think you should have a qualified electrician check out the system.

You tried PPPoE where? Unless you have the Westell bridged the PPPoE is specified in the WAN section of its router portion.

I got this laptop a few days ago and have yet to get it to work stably.  The first problem: wifi works fine when the laptop is plugged in, but on battery power, wifi will stop working somewhere between immediately and in ten minutes. Other laptops and devices, including my aunt's (also recent, also Windows 10) Lenovo Flex 14, on the same wifi network have no issues. When it loses the connection, it usually still shows full bars and says it is connected, but the Internet will not work. Sometimes it will give the yellow triangle. If I run the windows network diagnostic troubleshooter, it will always give a "the default gateway is not available" error, which it will say it fixed, and sometimes also a "the connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the Internet is broken" error, which it merely shows as detected. Running the troubleshooter will fix the problem for a minute or so before it recurs again, or I plug in the machine and disconnect/reconnect the wifi. The connection will not come back unless I intervene [edit: run the troubleshooter AND plug it in; reconnecting the wifi alone won't work]. I have tried so many different solutions; nothing has helped. Some things I've tried:rebooting the modem and routeruninstalling mcafeetemporarily disabling windows firewall, specifically whitelisting programs, changing settingschecking for windows updateslooking for newer network adapter drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling the driver, tryin... Hi all,  I have a brand new Yoga 530 i5-IKB and the WiFi connection remains connected but loses Internet connectivity every 5-10 mins. This only happens when operating on battery power. So far I have tried: Updating all drivers including BIOSUsing only a 5g networkSetting the advanced power plan settings to be identical between battery and powerAs said above, I don't have this issue with the power adaptor connected using the same wifi as when I constantly get disconnected when running on battery. This makes me believe an issue related to power saving options. Can anyone offer any assistance please?

Dear hp Community,I have a new HP Pavilion 15-n073sl with Windows 8.1 installed. Product number is: F2S85EA#ABZ. Wireless device: Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter.Unfortunately I'm experiencing a recurring issue with the wifi connection while the laptop is working on battery. When the laptop is plugged in without battery or in charge it works perfectly but when working on battery, it continuously keeps disconnecting (limited connection). The wifi connection stops working and the "yellow triangle" appears on the wifi icon. With right click on wifi icon and troubleshooting the issue is usually solved but only for a few minutes. Then it disconnects again. I've read many Posts on this forum and tried many proposed solutions but I couldn't solve the problem yet. Here's summarized what I've tried already:- updated the wireless driver- reset the wireless driver- reset and re-update the wireless driver- uninstall the wireless driver and then reinstall it manually (downloading drivers from hp website)- windows power saving options: set "maximum performance" for the wireless both on battery and plugged-in options- wireless hardware power setting option: unchecked the box "allow the computer to turn off the device"- connected to different routers/connections- updated the BIOS I really hope you can help me and I'm looking forward to put the status "solved" on this topic.Thank you very much

I have a new since Christmas Yoga 720-12IKB and find that the wifi is disconnecting/reconnecting numerous times per minute. It causes significant distruption trying to use the computer, with frequent errors about not being connected to the internet. Generally causes the device to operate very slow, nearly unusable. I'm not having disruption on any other computers/tablets/phones connected. I've tried a fair amount of troubleshooting but have yet to find a solution. The one workaround that I've found is that when I connect to power, the problem goes away. Remove power, issue returns. Suggests a problem with the power management (or possibly network adapter driver) but I can't figure it out. The network adapter is Qualcomm QCA61x4a. Here's what I've attempted: 1) Disable the power management feature of the adapter (uncheck allow computer to turn off)2) Run Lenovo System Update to make sure all drivers are up-to-date3) Manually updated the driver via device manager (went from .312 to .438)4) Switch roaming agressiveness to low Other than making it a desktop (needing to leave it plugged in to avoid the issue) any suggestions/resolution to this problem? Anyone else seeing the same behavior? Frustrating problem to an otherwise fantastic, fun, and fast Yoga!!! Looking for a light at the end of the tunnel....

A:Very Slow Internet connection on battery power

Try going to Control Panel -> System or My Computer and click View System Information on the left side. Then click the Hardware tab-> Device Manager. Now find your wireless network adapter on the list, right click it, and click Properties. Click the Advanced tab, then find Power Management on the list to check it's settings (mine has the "Use default Value" checked). Also, if that doesn't work try clicking the Power Management tab in the network adapter properties and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

I'm not one of the techies on this site though, so take my advice lightly.

I am currently using a Thinkpad L440. For about a year and a half now, I have been having random Wifi drops on my laptop. The wifi will suddenly stop working and my browser will prompt me to run Windows Diagnostics. Windows Diagnostics will detect the problem and reset my wifi adapter which fixes the problem. Then the same problem occurs after some time. I tried updating all the drivers, as well as the BIOS. I also tried removing the wifi apapter driver through Device Manager and reinstalling but this did not solve the isse. In fact, the wifi seems slower after doing this. As a note, whenever I run a scan using LSC, under WIreless > Local Connection Test, I get a warning sign. This has been consistent for about as long as the problem has been occuring.  Model: L440BIOS: J4ET91WW(1.91)Wifi Adapter: 2x2 11bgn Wireless LAN M.2 Adapter Appreciate any advice.

Hello, I just recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad U310. I'm very satisfied with everything about it... except for one little problem.

It constantly drops the wireless connection, unless I'm in the same room as the router. If I'm in the same room, everything runs super fast, however, if I'm across the house or upstairs (the router is downstairs), it'll drop connection every 20-30 minutes. The weird thing is, other devices (4 laptops & 3 iPhones) work just fine. Even my old HP laptop has fine connection upstairs, so I'm starting to think it's a problem with my laptop's wireless card.

Another thing that makes me think it's the laptop's problem... I was with my dad at a public library using their wifi the other day. My dad's computer ran at an average speed while mine was ridiculously slow.

The card is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200. I've updated the driver directly from the Intel website, but no help. I've tried changing channels, no help. I'm not sure what else I can do. Is it just simply because the laptop has a weak wireless network card? It can't be the router's problem right? Since all other devices work?

For the next two years I'll be living in a dorm, most likely using a ethernet cable, will this problem still appear if I'm not using the internet wirelessly?

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i5, and since the laptop is new, I haven't downloaded/installed... Read more

HiI hope someone can help me, this problem has been ongoing since the first day i bought it in 2012 december. the wifi disconnects to a 'limited' state. upon checking the device manager, the wireless adaptor is disabled. so i enable it and it gets back on again but no sooner is it on, it drops again. in 2014 i got dell tech to replace a new wifi card. on the spot, he too see how the new card didnt solve the problem. he nevertheless still left with the problem unsolved.recently the problem got very bad to a point it disconnects almost right away when i connect it back. i googled and found theres tonnes of issue with this wireless n2230. i came across a solution (disabling bluetooth). it worked for a day but the same thing came back after.i have done all sorts. factory reset, disabling and re-enabling, update windows and browsers and everything i can think of, its updated. im currently on win8, i do not know what other info i need to provide. i hope someone can help me im on the verge of smashing it out the window

My first question would be if you have upgraded to Windows 8.1. If not that would be the first thing I would do.

If you have 8.1 then I am assuming it is 64bit.

What is the make and model of the computer?
