I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I just updated my 700-15ISK to the latest bios E5CN29WW and I thought it went OK. But everytime when the laptop is completely turned off and on it throws following error: 03C00252: Boot Manager recover from critical error. Some essential variables are absent or corrupted and Boot Manager has been restored from default configuration. Press F1 to continue or F2 to Enter Setup. It will boot up just fine to Windows 10 if I select F1 to continue, though. Thank you in advance.

Hello, I got this message a few days back when Lenovo Companion said it wanted to perform an important update after I accepted: This BIOS is only for Lenovo Paris 300-14/15/17ISK. Are you sureu you want to perform it?  I checked the bios I have which is D5CN28WWMy machine is the IdeaPad 300 300-15ISK. I do not know if it is the 'Lenovo Paris'. I cannot see that branding anywhere. I checked Lenovo's site and I see there is a critical BIOS update listed for the ideapad 300-14IBR & ideapad 300-15IBR. http://support.lenovo.com/ie/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/300-Series/300-15ibr?tabName=Downloads... There is not one listed for the 300-15ISK.  Does that mean I need to update the BIOS as I have 15ISk which is not listed as needing a critical update. The companion software seems to think I do need it.I do not know what to do.  Updating the BIOS is fairly important thing so I would lik some input from someone at Lenovo before I proceed. Thank-you.

Hi,
I have Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK type/model 80Q700DRSC.
I want to update BIOS, so I downloaded D5CN47WW. In text file it is written that this is BIOS for my computer.
Everything seems fine but when I execute BIOS exe file it says that this is BIOS for Lenovo Paris 300 notebook!
What Paris now? I tried to google but only can find Paris in France.
I am user of Lenovo notebooks for many years (from IBM ThinkPads to this days) but when txt Readme file said
this is update for your computer, it was! This is confusing for me so I cancelled update.
Can anybody explain this mistery?
Thanks in advance

I just got my Lenovo Ideapad 700-15isk on the mail today, bought it with freedos (I already have a retail w10 license I want to transfer to it). Last night I prepared my bootable w10 usb and tested it on my old laptop to verify it works. No problem. I can't get it to work on the Lenovo, no matter what Bios settings I choose. I don't really mind if it's UEFI or Legacy at this point, I'm reinstalling next week when I get my new ssd disk, I just want to be able to get windows in for now. My usb stick is formatted as fat32, with windows 10 64-bit, I got the ISO using the media creation tool from Microsoft, and put it into the usb with rufus. At first, I was getting a winload.efi error (with either uefi, legacy, legacy first, uefi first and all variations you can think of). I redid the usb, this time just mounting the ISO file and copying the files manually. Now I'm getting winload.exe file might be damaged or missing. The mystifying thing is that the installer boots just fine on my old asus laptop. It's been years since the last time I did this, so I'm probably missing something obvious. Can anybody guide me on how to get the windows install screen to come up on this machine? Thank you in advance.

TL;DR: The Lenovo supplied driver refuses to install. Can anyone point out a place I can find older Lenovo NVidia drivers? ---------- My ideapad (Windows 10, 64 bit) came preinstalled with NVidia drivers version 359.37 for the GTX 950M in it. These worked fine. Then Windows 10 decided to overwrite those with a non-Lenovo NVidia driver through Windows Update. Those will not allow any OpenGL-using program to run at all, so I'm looking for a driver that actually works. I would think Lenovo driver downloads would be the best location for this, but the only one I can find there now is 376.67. That refuses to install, complaining that "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". I have also tried all the drivers NVidia allows me to download, and those all have different critical faults, ranging from refusing to install, freezing on the Windows login screen, crashing any program by "denied access to graphics hardware", and causing bluescreens every 30 seconds or so. Ideally, I'd want the newest driver in a working form. Lacking that, I'd like to have the Lenovo 359.37 driver back.  But I can't find the installation files for that anywhere. The only way I've found to get it is by factory resetting my computer, but that only lasts me about an hour before Windows decides to automatically destroy my driver again - in spite of "blocking" the update with Microsoft's update hiding tool. Can anyone point out a place I can find older Lenovo NVi... Read more

So I ordered the Ideapad Y700 15ISK with 256gb SSD and no HDD with the intension of installing an extra hard drive (probably HDD because it's cheaper). From what I've read on the forums people say that it's missing some cable(?) to plug in a 2.5" hard drive even though there is a slot for it. Would I be able to take out my 2.5" hard drive from my current Lenovo Flex laptop and plug it in to the Y700. As far as I know both should use 2.5" SATA 3 which means I should have no problem right?Alternatively I've been thinking of buying a new hard drive, but I still have no idea what's compatible with what so would something like This be compatibe? (Sorry about the site being in norwegian, but it should still be understandable as the specs are in english).

Hello, A few days ago, my Lenovo Ideapad 700-15ISK randomly begun BSODing every login, saying VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR. I suspected that it was because of a corrupted driver with my GPU (GTX 950M), and figured a reinstall would fix this issue. However, I tried reinstalling windows, deleting all partitions, updating my BIOS, and have used DDU in safe mode many times. I even tried reinstalling the Lenovo drivers for the BIOS, Chipset, and Intel VGA. However, I am still having this BSOD when I try to install the nvidia graphics drivers, and the installation approaches the end (It almost seems like the BSOD happens every time the GPU is activated). BlueScreenView is saying watchdog.sys and dxgkrnl.sys (DirectX Graphics Kernel) are the culprits. I am lost at what to do at this point, and I understand that this could be an issue of hardware with my GPU (but am really hoping it's not). However, I wanted to reach out here first to see if anyone could give me some guidance, or to see if anyone else is having this issue. Thanks!

Hi, I am having some issues with the wireless connection. I first tried to install the win7 Realtek WLAN Driver, the version that's on the site (Liteon_11.0.0.612 Broadcom_7.12.26.27 Realtek_2023.19.831.2015), but I get a "No Matched Wireless Device In This System" message.I installed the Intel WLAN Driver and was able to connect to the wifi but I'm not able to access the router's page on 192.168.1.1. Also when I try to access a radio stream, it takes about 10 minutes to load it and it stops playing after another 10 minutes (as if it had buffered/downloaded those 10 mins). I have another pc connected to the same network and both of these things work just fine, so it seems to be an issue only with this pc.Other than this, the web pages seem to work ok as well, no loading issues. So a couple of questions:1. Should those 2 wlan drivers (intel and realtek) be both installed or on the contrary, just one?2. If I should install the realtek driver (even if just for testing) can somenone point me to a version that works with this system?3. Could those 2 issues above be related to drivers or something else that needs installed? So far I have installed chipset, wlan, lan drivers and in the devce manager I have no unknown devices.I tried ipconfigs, pings, tracerts but didn't see anything suspicious and nothing fixed this. Then once I have installed the ethernet driver and have internet access it should be easy to find the rest of the drivers I need. Will any of the USB's work without drivers? Are there any critical drivers that will need to be installed prior to the ethernet driver? Or can I simply download the rest once I get internet access

Less than an hour ago, my computer finished updating (it said it was the April update) and it is now suffering seriously annoying problems. Whenever I have a large program open (ie, Microsoft Edge or WordPad) and I attempt to open a smaller one (Notepad or Calculator), once it's open and I move my mouse from the Task Bar, the smaller program will minimize immediately with no time for the mouse to reach it. So, to select it I have to minimize the other program first. Likewise, if I have two smaller programs open, whichever one the mouse is over is the one that will be selected, and it will happen immediately. My programs all still work fine otherwise, but I can no longer easily switch between projects, and it's infuriatingly tedious. I also an no longer right click to open recent documents or new pages. Is this anything I can do to fix this, please? If not, can this issue be addressed ASAP in another update?

Hi everyone, I have this Ideapad 700 15ISK for a year and half now. The laptop started giving a random shut down issue 3 months back, after trying every possible solutions from the internet, none of them worked out. Someone suggested me to update the BIOS so I downloaded the BIOS for this model from the Lenovo support page. The update process went all fine from what I saw and the system tried to reboot but it's now stuck at the black screen only, the screen is however turned on but nothing shows up. The Lenovo logo does not appear and I can't access the BIOS settings either... None of the function keys seem to get me to the BIOS settings, even tried the NOVO key but still no luck. I read around that resetting the CMOS battery settings might solve the problem but I'm not sure about this am afraid of damaging the internal parts. Is there any ways I can solve this issue?

Over the weekend I got a pop up from Avast saying a threat was blocked (pictured below):(I checked the virus chest today and there was nothing there. I also ran malwarebytes yesterday and it didn't find anything harmful on my laptop).I closed out the message but then about 2 days after that Avast message, after the computer initially turned on, this error message popped up:Can someone please explain to me what this means?  For the record, my battery gauge has been acting strange lately, it will not get to "fully charged" status when plugged into the AC adapter - it stops when there is about 5%-9% left until it is fully charged. I also just noticed about an hour ago that when it got down to below 40%, it did not seem to be reading the estimated time left and perctentage left consistently as one kept fluctuating while the other stayed pretty constant (for the record, I was not really using the laptop at the time so there was no big change in needed energy output).  Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I have problem with my Acer Aspire E1-431 OS Windows 8.1. The problem came when I installed an update with the name "Update For Windows 8.1 (KB2933809). After installed this update there was notification that asked to restart system. I restarted it and update was installing. Everything running well. But when the system was restarted, appeared the blue screen that said "Critical_Process_Died". Then I tried to restore my system and tried to did it again, but it's same. The blue screen was appeared again.

Please help me to fix this problem.

Thank you so much

Hello, Windows 7 Forums.

I was actually sitting down to write a scathing email to Microsoft concerning their Updates ruining my computer and putting my university work in severe jeopardy, but then I though "No, scathing emails are unbecoming and unproductive. I'll see if I can get help on these forusm instead."

So, a couple of weekends ago, my computer went bonkers.

I am a 3D graphics students, with a constant workflow, so almost every night I'll have all three of Photoshop, Autodesk Maya and VLC open, no problems, computer chugging along fine. This night, however, was different - even attempting to have all three programs open made the computer slow down to within an inch of its life, all three of them freezing. I am computer savvy, but not to the extent of knowing the deeper recesses of software and hardware workings. I figured, 'the cpu is a little outdated, I've been working it very hard lately, and I just installed a new graphics card - I'll turn off for the night, and see if something went wrong tomorrow.'

The next day, I had the same problem. svchost.exe was chewing up all the CPU in it's path. Ontop of that, opening any one of Photoshop, Maya or VLC used an impossibly massive chunk of CPU that it never normally needed to run. I checked the graphics driver was all fine, it was. I tried to do a System Restore, it was turned off. At this point, I was completely incabable of doing my work. The lag was impossible to work with concerning the pograms I use. E... Read more

A:Massive CPU problem upon installing latest Windows Critical Update.

Hello and welcome Aolani!

Yes, it is generally a good idea to keep your windows updated BUT, if you're handling a system that is mission critical (e.g. for sensitive, important workflows etc), it's better to manually update your windows and just apply one update at a time from the Windows Update menu... after backing up your important data and system state..

In general, critical updates from Microsoft should be safe to apply but there have been documented cases of them bricking certain systems/configurations for no apparent reason what so ever.. It can be a crapshoot sometimes, and it often involved hotfixes from MS themselves to fix those issues... (happened to me many moons ago... fortunately reverting using a system restore solved the issue)

It is likely that in the future you might have to update your Windows with a service pack, but when you have to cross that bridge, ensure that you've got a working system backed up BEFORE applying it.. that's like a the 1st rule of Computing...

So to recap; do not apply all updates en masse lest your system gets ruined like you describe.. even more so when you rely on it for very very important tasks....

P.S. That's a rather harrowing tale that you told, but it is the lessons we learn through pain and anguish that we never forget...

Hello, After I installed this bios update E5CN60WW ( http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ro/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/700-SERIES/700-15ISK/80RU/80RU00LQRI... ) the computer rebooted and refused to boot in UEFI mode( as it was before) and only boots on LEGACY mode. When I try to boot on UEFI mode it says that I should select a boot mode ( hdd, usb so on) and when I select the hdd nothing happens(windows is installed).  Windows was installed on verison 56WW of bios, with UEFI settings only, and after the update to 60WW i cannot boot UEFI anymore just on LEGACY. Why? How can I go back to UEFI booting ? Also before I updated the bios I have created a backup with universal bios backup toolkit and created a file LENOVO-E5CN56WW.rom (is it possible to backflash to this one?) Thank you,Bogdan
