Q: lenovo flex 15 is stuck on lenovo logo

Hey guys, first time here and I just want to inform you that I'm not a genius so please talk like you're talking to a 9years old kid..

So my problem is as the title says.. Well it started when I opened my laptop from sleep mode then it was hanging up and then it suddenly turned blue with sad face.. I didn't read the problem clearly but i remember it saying a problem about "kernel_????_????"..

I tried to hard reset my laptop cause it was taking so much time then it ended up stuck on the logo... Now I'm the one with the blue sad face...

Hope you guys can help me as soon as possible., thanks in advance..

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: lenovo flex 15 is stuck on lenovo logo

Right, you mentioned it turned blue with a sad face, that is a Blue Screen of Death (or proper term is Kernel bugcheck) which indicates something has gone wrong.
In order to help we'll need the .dmp files.

Hi, I have a Lenovo Flex 2 15 Model 20405. Yesterday, I decided to reformat my laptop to Windows 8. On the near end of the installation, it prompted me to restart the computer (it restarted itself after 10 seconds), but after the Lenovo splash screen, I get a blank black screen. I recently came from an Ubuntu OS, not sure if it changed the BIOS settings. I have tried the following instructions bellow. I was successful in rebuilding the BCD, but when I restarted my computer I am still stuck at blank black screen. bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup
c:
cd boot
attrib bcd -s -h -r
ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
bootrec /RebuildBcd
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot

Remove the Rescue CD and try rebooting now. Other things I have done so far: I've checked the hard drive from BIOS, it's reading it properly.I have tried resetting BIOS to defaults.I changed the boot order priority (HDD first), I tried other boot order as well.I switched between UEFI and Legacy SupportPressed F8 (or FN + F8 ) to bring up Safe Mode, but nothing showed up.I can boot from Windows Installation disk. I tried all troubleshooting options like Refresh and Reset, but I get the message "This option is not available in the OS you selected" - must be because Windows did not finish up during installation so there's nothing to refresh or resetI have tried installing other Windows OS like Windows 7 but still getting the same black blank screen.  The laptop has a built-in battery which... Has anyone had any issues with their Flex 3 laptop getting stuck in sleep mode?  I've called Lenovo support twice about this issue.  The problem was not fixed at all on the first attempt.  After the second attempt....I thought they fixed the issue; however, it still happens but less frequently.  Just purchased this laptop in February 2016 and I'm about to throw it in the trash!

Hi Eftroy,

Welcome to the Lenovo community!

Wait for the machine to boot into the 'Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC' error message.
Click the 'Advanced Options' button
Open cmd and type:
bootrec /fixMBR
bootrec /Fixboot
bootrec /rebuildBCD
And also
chkdsk /r c:
chkdsk /r d:

Or else

Turn on the computer.
Wait for the machine to boot into the 'Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC' error message.
Click the 'Advanced Options' button
Click the 'Troubleshoot' button
Click the 'Advanced options' button
 Click the 'Startup Settings' button
Wait for the system to reboot into the 'Startup Settings' menu (is the same menu for safe mode)
Select the 'Disable early launch anti-malware protection' option. (Press '8')
If this worked for you, you should now boot into windows.
Now you can shut down your system and it should hopefully work first time the next time you start the system

Let us know how you get on.

Hi to all!I have a huge problem:My laptop started to freeze and not starting apps so I rebooted it (by pressing and keeping down the power button).Next time it started, when showing the Lenovo logo and the loading spinner it took a lot more than usual, next it showed "Diagnosing your PC" and after a while the screen showed "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete"... and it's been like 12hours now. Panicking for my files the first thing I did was to download Ubuntu and create an USB bootable image to backup my files, this went OK.Then, to try to make my laptop to start I've tried, so far: 1) Power the laptop off and press the Novo button which lead me to the Novo Menu and when I choose 'System Recovery' I get a "Onekey recovery partition has damaged so do not lauch the main application" and I get send back to the "repairing disk errors..." screen. 2) Download , from Microsoft, installation media, made a bootable USB to get to the Troubleshoot options which are- Repair start: when I choose this, nothing happends either, same repairing disk errors screen again- Try to recover to a previous state: nothing happens even thou I have available recovery points, the computer freezes and nothins happens.(In case i'm not making myself clear, I took these 2 Microsoft solutions from this post:http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/windows-10-stuck-on-repairing-dis... ) Any other ideas? I just purchased IdeaCentre K450 from Bestbuy. In addition I also purchased 2 Seagate 3TB Backup Plus USB drives. All three USB drives were plugged in to the K450.When the Windows Updates automatically rebooted the PC, it got stuck on the Lenovo BIOS logo.It will not bypass it until I remove or power down all the USB drives that attached to it. I did check the BIOS and make sure that it's not trying to boot from USB. I made the Local Hard Disk as the number 1 priority when booting. I don't know what is going on. I think Lenovo will have to update the BIOS. SInce it's a newer product, my guess is I will have to wait for a little bit. I called the support line and they have no clue what is going on. They only advise is to post it in the forum and see if anyone else has the same issue. *no comment* I guess this is a weird one because when I tested by plugging in an "EMPTY" 4GB USB jump drive, it will boot just fine.I'm not sure if it's because the Seagate Backup Plus was a 3TB drives or it has "certain" content inside the jump drive. If any fellow K450 users has the same issue, please post it here so the Lenovo "engineer" be able to see that there's an issue out there. Thank you.

Hi iamxcpx, welcome to the forums,

what you have experienced is not uncommon with any type of computer from notebook through to server, regardless of the boot disc being set as item 1 in the list, sometimes they just want to search everything available for boot instructions; depending on the quantity of information on the external discs it can sometimes take a little while.

I would suggest totally excluding the drives, or better all usb devices, from the boot order.  The following picture is of another systems BIOS, but hopefully illustrates what I mean.

I just got my X1 carbon today. The major problem is that the CPU is overheating. It can easily reach to 90 degrees or even higher. (I already used XTU undervolted the cpu) The fan is always on and a little bit noisy if using the laptop even for performing some simple tasks such as open a web. It will turn so hot that i won't even able to reset my hand on the right side of the keyboard above the air outlet (the area next to "enter"). Since it is a new system, i need to restart it after updating and installing some apps. The system stuck at Lenovo logo screen during restarting a few times already. I think it was due to overheating. Long press the power bottom and restart it will solve the problem.

It sounds like the HDD may be having trouble reading the boot sector and might need to be replaced. Have you tried using the "novo" button to enter BIOS and see if you have a HDD diagnostic you can use?  If you can enter BIOS, change out the boot order, try your USB and CD/DVD.  If it boots from USB or CD successfully then I would suspect a HDD issue, one that may require replacing the HDD to cure.CB

The NOVO button is not working, and i can't access the BIOS menu or Booting menu with any keyboard shortcuts. Unplugging it and removing the battery and holding the power button, then rebooting, also does nothing. Hello. I have various issues that need to be address. First of all I have 2 Lenovo P50 laptops. On many occassions during bootup my laptop hangs at the beginning showing the Lenovo logo boot screen. The only way to pass this is to take out all usbs. Is there a work around for this? I changed settings of bootup order in bios to no avail. Secondly after an update at the beginning of May I am unable to use my Ata2020 microphone utilising Asio4all in Cubase. The strange thing it works with only the realtek or the ur12 but all sounds stop when enabling the microphone. In the past maybe 3 weeks ago there were no problems using asio4all. The only way to make it work is using the default full duplex asio driver. I tried to roll back nvidia and sound drivers to no avail, I would like to download and older driver of realtek but do not see it anywhere on the website. Thanks.

A:Lenovo Ideapad 110 With AMD Radeon R5 stuck on Black screen after showing logo and preparing repair

 Hi there, Eddie                       -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Automatic Repair usually kicks in if there's a problem loading up the files that's required to start Windows. If the repair was interrupted and the screen just goes into a black screen then there's most likely a hardware component that's malfunctioning.

To check, try to:

Boot into the BIOS by pressing the OneKey Recovery button

  - Link to picture

If successful, set the following settings in the BIOS:

Security Tab:
Secure Boot = Disabled

Boot Tab:
UEFI = Disabled or Legacy
Boot Mode = Legacy
Boot Priority = Legacy First
Exit Tab

OS Optimized Defaults = Other OS or Disabled

When done, press F10 (or Fn+10) to save and exit and try to boot from your Windows CD

If you're successful in booting from the Windows Disc, see Step 1 to Step 2 of this guideon how to proceed in fixing the issue.
If the problem remains, consider re-installing Windows by pressing the OneKey Recovery button and choose System Recovery

  - Link to picture

In an event that the recovery fails, I recommend you contact Lenovo and report the issue as you may need to send the unit for service.

Update us how it goes.

A:Lenovo G50-30 : getting black screen after lenovo logo

Hi zoheb_syed ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Doing factory reset would delete everything and repartitioned with new Windows on it just like out of the box .
Lenovo splash screen is a good sign that power goes in the computer and the devices required for a working machine.
For as long as you back up your files , try doing the Lenovo Restore using the Novo key (no.2 page 9).
Just turn off the pc and use the Novo button to turn it on . Novo menu would give the System Recovery

Soon as done , create a local account and proceed.
If it goes to a black screen during the process , I recommend you call in tech support for repair.
Most likely there would be a problem with the GPU since rendering on Windows failed.
You can also check the display on any external monitor to see if the display would work externally to isolate LCD or cable issue .
If the computer finish up with the restoration then run Lenovo diagnostics.

Tech support can give you repair options or if BIOS update is neccessary .
Best check on your warranty for the type of repair service you would expect (either sending to depot or Onsite repair)
Considering the turn around time of the repair , which I know that you need it on a daily basis for work  Try above step and let us see how it works.

Hope this helped you get things done on your issue.

Regards

I would try resetting the BIOS using the jumper, or by taking out the CMOS battery, wait a minute or two, and then replace it and try booting up. See page 73 of the Hardware Maintenance Manaul linked below for location of the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper (# 20) https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/m83m93p_hmm.pdf Clearing the CMOS (BIOS)1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer. 2. Remove the computer cover. 3. Locate the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper on the system board. 4. Move the jumper from the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2) to the maintenance position (pin 2 and pin 3). 5. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. 6. Turn on the computer and leave it on for approximately 10 seconds. Then, turn off the computer by holding the power switch for approximately five seconds. 7. Repeat step 1 through step 2. 8. Move the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper back to the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2). 9. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. Good Luck,

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Hello everyone, Since about five days ago, everytime I turn on my laptop, it starts normally. It goes into the black-background lenovo startup with a white loading symbol. Then, after maybe 5 rotations of the dots in the loading symbol, it freezes. It does not progress into starting up. At this point, I usually turn off my laptop by holding the power button. If I don't turn it off myself, it turns off automatically a few minutes later.  Every 2 or 3 times I turn on my computer, instead of the loading symbol, it turns into a "Preparing Automatic Repair" mode. I have seen the loading symbol for this mode but then it disappears and nothing happens and it turns off automatically after ten minutes or so. I've seen the same solution that help others with the same problem which is to take out the DVD from the laptop. I did this and my problem has not changed.  edit: g500 to g505
