Hi, there, I have updated 3 weeks back windows 10 to its new updates fall creator, but unfortunately, mad everything destroyed. microsoft tech agent took in remort session and did a fresh windows10, while my Lenovo pre-installed Apps and drivers were not there. yesterday I have done once again windows via'' Lenovo USB creator tool recovery ''. now i am afraid if I run the windows updates once again it will disappear my Lenovo apps etc and will rise issue. contacted Lenovo but they said I am out of there area. kindly tell me a safe way.thanks.Nafees.

I was previously running the Window 10 spring creator's update without issue on my Yoga 910. However, after the fall creator's update (1709) the fan is VERY loud when plugged into AC power. When running on battery, it's whisper quiet. All BIOS/Software/drivers are up to date, and I've rebooted numerous times. Power mode slider is set to either all the way to the left (power saver) or one notch to the right. At times with the high fan usage, the system seems bogged down and very slow to respond to keystrokes. Task manager doesn't reveal anything super obvious using high CPU time.

Good morning! I wonder if anyone else has either experienced or solved the issue I am currently having with my Yoga 710. I looked for similar postings that may have solved this issue but did not find them so if I missed it, I apologize.  After visiting the IT help desk at my university several times as certain programs such as Spotify desktop, Zoom, Skype, SPSS Amos Graphics (a statistical modeling program) would open but display a black screen, the technicians realized that the Intel 520 Graphics Driver appeared to cause an issue once it advanced past a particular version of the software. They rolled back the graphics driver and everything was working great until last night my computer wanted to update Windows 10 which automatically updated the graphics driver and eliminated the option to roll back to a previous version of the graphics driver. Now I can't use a significant number of the programs on my laptop.  I could rollback the Windows update but that doesn't seem helpful overall. It seems silly to keep having to roll back the graphics driver when the Windows update seems to be forcing it to be more up-to-date. On an Intel forum it seems like Intel is saying that Lenovo has tested it and says everything is OK, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  Any ideas or links to solutions would be most appreciated! Best wishesMandy

Hey guys  Quick question here: Just oppened my new Yoga 520 today and I noticed somehting strange happening on the screen. From the  3 pictures below:-1st is how the desplay looks from a front angle. The only flickering/anomalies you will notice is from the camera limitaitons on my smarthpone.-2nd picture is where the issue is clear in the picture and morso with the naked eye. These humps become very noticeble when you view the screen from a side angle.-3rd picture is just to emphasize the outline on these humps which are more visable from what can be captured on my camera. Also, these anomalies stretch on the uppers side of the screen as well. Can anyone tell me what these are? If I should worry? If they are normal or of they will get worse, and if I should take the notebook the a lenovo shop to change something on the desplay? Thank you for your time!

Well I figured that the "Activation errors" issue would crop up when a new update like this come out - my guess that many people would be doing the upgrade at once.

Blue Screen of Death errors on install: How many of those checked to see if they need to remove some software before the upgrade? Or rather do clean install.

Tried to upgrade from Windows Update as well as using the Media Creator Tool by downloading from the Microsoft website, neither of them works. In the end, I got an error code "0xC1900101 - 0x20017", and a message "The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation." I have every driver and OS software updated to-date. I do have Ubuntu installed as a dual-boot OS and Macrium Reflect configured as a recovery software from the boot, which might have caused the problem. I encountered this issue a while ago with the Spring Creator Update (see here), and I fixed it by deleting the Ubuntu booting partition, which I definitely want to avoid! I searched on Google, similar issued happened for HP laptops and was related to the BIOS driver. Does anyone know if this issue is related to the Thinkpad BIOS setting or something we have to wait for Lenovo to fix? Any solution to this issue? Thanks.

Hi - I read through these forums and see a lot of people have problems updating to the latest Windows 10 version (1709) - even on newer models. I was wondering who has the oldest Thinkpad/Lenovo model running this latest version of Windows 10 - fully functioning. Myself, I have a Thinkpad T43 from 2005 running Windows 1709 great - everything is working but of course it is not fast!

Hi. Few weeks ago i made bootable iso on pendrive USB Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
Propably 16299.15 version if i remember. But i get issues.

I get a tons of WHEA LOGGER errors in event viewer:

A spam of: WHEA Event ID 19 CPU-corrected hw error

And only one : WHEA Event ID 47 memory-corrected hw error

Looks like this:



Temps of cpu fine,temps of gpu fine. Never had any single BSOD. Memtest86 no errors. All benchmarks passing, no crashing in games.

Only saw that errors in event viewer.

I tried to update to

KB4056892 ( 16299.192).

And it stopped throwing that errors after installing update on 22.01 :

Hi,

I have recently been pushed the Windows 10 Fall Creator Edition (Build 1709) and after installation I cannot get any HDMI output (connected to an Acer S240HL screen) - I see an "input not suppoorted" message on the Acer monitor. If I roll back to a pre-1709 build the display works.
I have the Intel HD 620 Video driver 22.20.16.4799 installed, although I also rolled this back to the current version on the Dell site (Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver_1H6KX_WIN_21.20.16.4627_A04.exe) before a second attempt at a reinstallation of Fall Creator.
Has anyone seen anything similar, or a workaround?

Hi all. I having a problem with Win 1709 update since december 2017. My system (Win 10 Home 64 bit, ver 1703, OS BUILD 15063.850) is crushes (see attached screenshot) during the installation. I tried to install it multiple times. I also asked for help from MS support, but they killed my system so I had to reinstall it. I also tried following: Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool (mdsched.exe) -> no issues have been foundUpdate your BIOS -> there are no updates for my modelCheck and Repair Windows System Files (sfc /scannow) -> evrything is OKIChange power settings to High Performance -> does not helpTrobelshoot > Windows Update > Run The Trobleshooter. This one fixed some problem with "Service registration is missing or corrupt"Scann for viruses with Windows Defender. The blue screen of death shows stop code MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, not sure what else I can do in order to solve this issue. Thanks.

Hello, Windows 10 fall creator auto update initialized & update failed multiple times. Requesting to pls confirm is it compactable with Flex 2-14D or tested. Problem is that, I'm unable to stop auto updated & post update installation failed, Its getting downloaded everytime. Why lenovo not prepared for such updates? Regards,VR No clear error logs as well.

Hey. I bought my Yoga 520-14IKB (Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256gb NVMe SSD, GeForce 940MX) 2 month ago, had no problems, till last week. Now sometimes i experience such a strange behaviour. Mainly i work on my laptop in normal mode, and sometimes, during such work, it can false trigger a tablet mode for a few (2-3) seconds (notification appers), which causes the keyboard to switch off for this time, despite the fact, that it still stands as a normal laptop, not even close to position, which triggers the yoga mode. How can i fix this? System is Windows 10 April 2018 Update, have all the latest drivers and latest version of BIOS.

There is only one port available to accommodate storage on this model.
Storage specification: M.2 slot,  2.5-inch, NGFF, 128 GB / 256 GB, SATA II/SATA III (Lenovo YOGA 710-14ISK/Lenovo YOGA 710-14IKB) (page 6 on the hardware manual)
 

 
On this model, an external USB SSD storage drive can be the most practical and useful tool for added files which is would also allow transferability to different work PC.

Hi!  The other day I was in Corte Ingles, a store in Barcelona, Spain, where they are selling the Yoga 710-14IKB.It has an i7 proccesor. 8GB ram. 14 inch screen. Windows 10. Price ?1099.90 The problem is the keyboard. It has the Spanish leter on it. In my Dutch alphabet we don't have that. Filled with excitement I wanted to order it online. Hey, I bought new laptop for work and sometimes for gaming ( Yoga 710  940mx i7-7500). Earlier I had a Lenovo z710 840m i5-4210 and guess what.. Once a week I play one game "The Crew". On my older laptop I had 30 fps on Medium, now on my new laptop i have got >20 fps on low with 1280x720. Hello, I came here to ask Lenovo Staff for any feedback. Week ago I've bought Yoga 710. After few days of use its front left corner went up, it became unstable on flat surface. Pads aren't the problem and everything is fine if notebook is closed. I left it open with some book to keep it flat over night to see if it helps, it did but only for a while. I've search through this forum if anyone had such issue and Lenovo Support members claimed several times that it should be returned as this is covered by warranty. Sides are stiff and solid but the whole front is pretty much flexible. I could flex it myself but this can damage internal parts which I'd like to avoid. So I took pictures, contacted local Lenovo Support (Poland) about it. Surprisingly they've refused to help by claiming that this is "cosmetic defect". I've asked twice, told them about statements here and I don't blame them, but there's clearly some misunderstanding. Here's the picture of how it looks like. It would be great if someone could clarify why I can't receive warranty service while I read here others did.  I still have week to return it to store but this model (with Kaby Lake) isn't available anymore so they can't replace it for me and yet it's not their fault. Nothing prevents fan to move it's blades (huh, blades? Hello, Lenovo.  I've got problem with unworking fan. For this moment I tried next things: Physical accurate cleaning of fan and surroundings from dust and suchlike things. Nothing prevents fan to move it's blades (huh, blades? I don't know how it's calling)Checking connection and reconnecting fan from\to motherboard.Reinstalling Windows back to the clear version.Installing all "recommended" drivers from your support part of website.Updating BIOS to the newest version that you've offered for this laptop model.Second reinstalling of Windows but now not from Windows Settings, but from special .iso file from Microsoft's support website.Always doing checking by Lenovo Diagnostic Tool. Also, I've tried to get something from sidepart apps like SpeedFan.Stresstest with expectation of reacting temperature sensors on overheating and turning on fan.Laptop was bought from LenovoIsrael ~1 year and 2 months ago. One day (the last sunday, I think) fan just stop working and laptop, obviously, become overheating every time I'm doing some work on it. Hey everyone! Recently I'm thinking about how to use two operating systems on my Yoga without the need of dualboot.After some research I found out that many mainboards aren't able to boot from USB 3.0 or upwards. Since USB2 is way too slow for a decent performance, I'd like to refrain from that as an option. Been checking the UEFI and have only seen the option boot from USB, which does not specify if it's able to boot from USB3.0 (that has often to be differentiated). Now, I don't own a external ssd with USB 3, so I cannot test that myself. So, does the Yoga 510-14IKB support booting from USB 3.0 devices? Kind regards,kazumo P.S.: Does anyone know the technical aspect to why booting from USB 3.0 is not available everywhere? Been trying to figure it out and so far I don't see a reason why, since USB 3.0 has two lanes, one of which is equal to a USB 2.0
