Intel HD Graphics Driver [Question]

Q: Intel HD Graphics Driver [Question]

Can I uninstall Intel HD Graphics Driver? I have an NVIDIA card. It is optimus though but I wouldn't mind if it always ran off it. I'm not sure how it works so I decided to be safe and ask.

Preferred Solution: Intel HD Graphics Driver [Question]

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Intel HD Graphics Driver [Question]

I'm guessing your computer came with Intel HD integrated graphics and that you upgraded a NVIDIA graphics card.

It's not going to hurt anything to leave the Intel driver installed.

If you uninstall it, you may receive a prompt to install the driver for it the next time you start/restart the computer.

This keeps coming up when I use the Intel(R) Driver Update Utility 2.5

"A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer.
The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver
instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues.

Should I change from "Customized computer manufacturer driver" to the latest one from here (a "generic Intel driver) - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

Go to Intel | Data Center Solutions, IOT, and PC Innovation Click on Support/Download Drivers and finally automatically find drivers. This will require installing a small Intel update utility. Run that and it will list any applicable Intel drivers for your PC.

This is NOT official HP Customer Support and I, as most other persons on this forum, do not work for HP. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's. It appears you have the latest production release of the Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. The only other driver listed on Intel's support website is which is a BETA version. This BETA driver doesn't appear to address the issue you are having. HP hasn't made it difficult to update the driver. The Intel driver installer is what is telling you it can't install the driver. This is because there is a customized version of the driver on the computer and replacing it with a generic driver may cause issues or loss of functionality of the hardware. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the White KUDOS "Thumbs Up" to show your appreciation

I am not sure if this is where it belongs, or if it is a Graphics Card issue. I have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely, causing me to do a hard shut down. What can I do to resolve this issue?

I have a HP 6730b notebook with Intel GMA 4500MHD. (Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB RAM)

I'm looking for the proper graphics driver.
I need a HP-customized driver as I have problems with the generic one on Intel's website.
Previously, I had a HP-customized driver which worked fine, I'm looking for that.

I tried THIS driver (from HP's website) but it doesn't support my resolution so it's probably for different hardware.
I remember the old driver I had (before reinstalling) supported my resolution and worked flawlessly.

What driver should I download for this computer?
I managed to solve this problem. The other driver called "Intel Video Driver and Control Panel" on HP's website works fine.

A:intel hd graphics driver

At a guess, the Microsoft Basic display drivers are what is installed for your laptop.

Intel has not released Windows 10 drivers for that CPU. You could try some Win 7 drivers:

Download Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver, Windows 7* 64, Windows Vista* 64 (exe)

They may work. Or, it may be possible to get them in using work-arounds (install in compatibility mode, manually force a driver update).

It's regrettable that Intel is not supporting hardware that is less than 6 years old, but they are under no legal obligation to do so.

You Can Roll Back the driver to the old driver, if the new driver was installed. Go to the Device Manager, Click the Properties for the Intel HD Graphics then Click the Driver Tab.

Another possibility is to use the System Restore function and restore the PC to an available restore date that is BEFORE you did (or attempted) the driver upgrade.

Hi everyone. I own a Intel? 4 Series Express Chipset Family which is also called the GM45, 4500MHD & 4500HD. I have heard of other names for it but I am not quite sure if they are different or not. So my question is, is the X4500, X4500M, Intel G45, Intel GM45 and the Mobile Intel? 4 Series Express Chipset Family all the same GFX Card? Thanks in advance.

A:Question About Intel Graphics Chipset

I think that they are all related but different names are used depending on what it is installed in. If I remember correctly, the GM45 is for laptops. I think the G45 is for desktops. The other look like special variants of those two. The best way to figure out is to look at Intel's website.

The newest graphics drivers for the Thinkpad P50 contain Intel driver version (the latest available from the Support site). This version of the driver (as well as older versions) has a bug which causes Google Chrome to jitter when in full screen and moving the mouse around the page. A:Intel HD Graphics Driver Problem.

Hi, You can get around the restriction imposed by the oem graphics package by manually installing the Intel Graphics driver as follows. First, download the latest Intel HD4600 driver for your notebook from the link below and save it to your Downloads folder - you need the first option ( ie win64_154025.4463.zip ).  Note:  If you wish to install a different driver version from Intel, the method is still the same. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26079/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?... When done, download and install the .64bit version of 7-Zip on the link below. http://www.7-zip.org/ When you've installed 7-Zip, open your Downloads folder, right click on the win64_154025.4463.zip package, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok. Cut this newly extracted folder and paste it on your Desktop so it's easy to find. When done, hold down the Windows key and press R Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. In Device Manager, expand Display adapters, right click the Intel 4600 device and select 'Update Driver Software'. In the following window, select 'Browser my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'. In the next window, click the 'Have Disk' button and then browse to the extracted Intel win64_154025.4463 folder you pasted on your Desktop. Browse into the sub-folder Graphics, left click on t... I really have to laugh. In checking on software updates for my AIO 700-27ISH this morning, the Lenovo support page alerted me to the fact that a new Intel graphics driver (.4300 version) was available for download and installation.  As it happens, I have just installed today a new graphics driver from Intel (.4664 version) that is at least 3 cycles ahead of the version available on the Lenovo support site.  So much for Lenovo keeping up and the need to "verify" that the Intel drivers will work with Lenovo boxes. My advice: check the Intel site using their Driver Download Utility and then manually download and install the new Intel drivers. Good luck.

Since HP does not update the driver automatically, support suggested downloading the most recent driver from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25978/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36- . However, the installer wizard throws the notification that this driver is not installed for my machine. Is it safe to install the driver anyway, through the steps listed at the page mentioned above? If not, is there another procedure to update my driver to the latest version?

A:Update Intel Graphics driver

Does your notebook not have the NVIDIA GeForce 840M video solution installed?  Have you tried using that as the default graphics solution for the program that is crashing? I suggest downloading and installing the Intel driver from the following web page at Intel. Use the second driver from the top.http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/graphics-for-4th-generation-intel-pr...

Hey guys, I'm running the x64 developer preview on an Acer Aspire 5740 running an older Intel GMA HD, and the current driver for it is Intel? Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows 7* 64, Windows Vista* 64 (zip)v15. Link: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=3231&lang=eng
My current Driver is WDDM 1.1. I've tried following the procedure here http://www.eightforums.com/hardware-...00-3000-a.html, but after running the setup executable, the only thing that is installed is the uninstall files, then nothing happens, and when I restart, there's no intel updates when i check updates. I'm guessing it's just the difference in the two drivers that doesn't let it work with this one, so has anybody figured out how to get that particular driver working in Windows 8 or have any idea how to?

So I went to update my graphics driver but Intel's updater said this computer uses a custom driver meaning I'd have to get it from this website. I did but it said that the driver was not validated for this computer, which is impossible because it was custom made for this computer's hardware. So I manually installed it and now it keeps giving me problems like seemingly randomly crashing with "display driver stopped responding" type errors when I play games, often either rendering them unplayable or crashing them, seemingly depending on the game. Some of them have no problem with this I think but after the latest update to Phantasy Star Online 2 for example, it keeps crashing with this error after a couple of minutes or so. Exactly what driver am I even supposed to be using?!

Just had to do a clean re-install from the back up disk I made when this computer was new thanks to my nephew. I went to Device Manager to check if I had the current drivers for Intel HD Graphics Card. Right clicked then hit properties. Under driver tab hit driver details and I counted over 170 files. so how do I know of mine is current and which of those files might be the newer? This is Windows 8.1 64-bit.

A:Intel HD Graphics Driver Details

If you want know if your driver is current, look at the "Driver Version". You can then go to the Intel Download Center for the latest version.

I have been trying to connect an external monitor to laptop through HDMI.  There is a thread out there that discusses the problems of connecting through HDMI but I am having a different set of problems perhaps. First off, with every restart, the laptop can decide to shut down and not even display Intel HD graphics adapter.  There seems to be no rhyme or reason.  Sometimes the Intel adapter shows up right next to NVIDIA, sometimes it is only NVIDIA.  When it is only NVIDIA, the external monitor through HDMI is not recognized. When the laptop doesn't recognize the intel hd graphics, I have found a tedious workaround for now.  I go to bios, switching the display type (discrete to hybrid or back, basically changing whatever the prior type was), once again allows the laptop to recognize the intel hd adapter as well as the external monitor upon next restart. What is exactly going on?  And what can I do to avoid this issue? The only pattern I have found out is that my wifi also keeps dropping inspite of updating to latest wifi drivers, and no it is not connected to my router since wifi drops at other places too.  When I have to force restart my laptop after such occurence, the external monitor support is lost.  I then have to restart after changing the graphics type in bios.  For some reason, it shakes up the computer and then it remembers to support the external monitor the next time alon...
