IE closes as soon as i click on java game link

Q: IE closes as soon as i click on java game link

IE closes as soon as i click on a java game link. it worked perfectly fine yetserday. any help plz?

Preferred Solution: IE closes as soon as i click on java game link

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Whenever Microsoft Automatic Updates come to my computer...it screws up my IE 7 so whenever I click a link that goes to a .pdf file or click an e-mail link on a web page IE starts the process and then completely closes everything. If I reinstall an older version of IE (without tabs) all works fine. And sometimes...if i reinstall the newer version (with tabs) it seems to fix the problem. I also run RegCure to help cleanup. But after the latest auto updates...these cures don't seem to be working. The older version IE6 works fine..it's only with the newer IE & that this happens. Thanks

A:IE7 closes when I click a .pdf link or e-mail link

I don't use IE7, but does it have a Manage Add-ons in the Tools menu?

Check for the Adobe Reader add-on. I assume you have it already installed.

Also, check Adobe and see if there is a version/update for IE7.

Any time I click on a link from a thread on techsupportforum I get an external link message (Image Attached). However it does not happen when I use Firefox. Clicking on the link suing Firefox takes me directly to the message.

I know this is not a big issue but I would like to know why this happens and how I can fix it.

So this is really strange.

I overclocked my card a little bit, and it didn't work as I had wished, I restarted my computer and clocked it back to normal, no issues at all.

Since I purchased a new joystick, I installed the drivers and continued with my day to day activities, after verifying some information for a game, I noticed that I could change it's video settings in CCC so I open CCC and to my surprise, as soon as I click on the >Games tab, it closes. The process keeps running, and the icon in the tray remains active, not only that, if I click anywhere on CCC it will do the same.

I already attempted to upgrade to the newest beta driver. I had been running 3.11B6 for weeks without any issues, but now this has come up.

Last time I gave up and decided to perform a fresh install, but right now I do not have the time to go through that process

I already uninstalled the drivers for the joystick, reinstalled microsoft net framework 4.5.. but nothing. Same thing.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

set aside half an hour when you have it, do a fresh install of the newest drivers, should fix it, had a similar problem a while back, good luck mate

I reimaged my pc and didn't put anti spyware or a Internet security program on it right away. I went on the Internet for a day. Then after that I am unable to install Norton. There is no response when I try to install it by double clicking on the install icon. Also there is something taken over my browsers. When I click a web link in an email. My browser closes. When I type in any anti virus company names in the search field of any search engine my browser closes. I tried both IE and Netscape. For example if I type Norton Antivirus or AVG my browser crashes. If I type "cars" or "boats" its ok. If I hand type the mcafee, norton, or avg website addresses in my brower address field my browser closes. Has anyone heard of this. I can't find anything on this issue.

I My IE7 was working just fine until I downloaded my free trial of Norton 360 2 months ago.

If I click on a link that opens a new window, the window opens but the original browser window closes. I solved the problem for a while by adding the websites I use that open links in new windows to the allow pop up windows.

Then, I bought the norton360. This fix no longer worked. I even removed all the addresses and added them back. I still can't open a new window from the open browser without it closing the open browser.

Next, I uninstalled norton360. That didn't work. Then I installed IE8. That didn't work. Now I am seeking help. It is really annoying. I am at work now but I will try any suggestions at home this evening.

When I am either on Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer on my laptop, the window shuts down, and says close program. After clicking this, the internet windows closes and goes back to the desktop page. When this happens, small white pages appear on the desktop screen, and whenever I try to click on anything such as settings or a program, it doesn't work, meaning I have to hold down the power button to switch it off. Also, when it is turned back on, sometimes the screen comes up in a different colour.
I have done a system restore, which worked successfully, but it hasn't fixed the problem.
Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this problem.

A:Solved: Right click closes ALL windows

Explorer is closing on you. Some items in the tray will not return until a reboot.

How long has the problem existed and have you ever tried doing a "System Restore" to a prior date?

Does the size of the folder being copied have an effect?

Does the problem happen in Safe Mode?

Or how about in a "Clean Boot"?

I've installed Win 7 twice now, and each time I end up not being able to right click on certain folders. When I do explorer closes and restarts. This seems to be happening as soon as I do the Windows File Transfer to bring my Win XP files into play.

I have already played with the Administrator privileges, but I still have some folders that I cannot access, while still having the problem with the right click context menu popup with certain folders. Other folders work fine with the right click.

I have tried some of the suggested fixes that users have tried, i.e. editing a couple registry settings within the ContextMenuHandler folder. No luck.

It appears by looking at Microsoft's Knowledge Base that others have had the same issue, but I found no good solution. Ideas?

The title says it all:

I have XP Home and whenever I right-click on a file or press a shortcut in order to copy/cut/paste/whatever it, Windows Explorer closes automatically (the process itself reset I guess).

I've tried registry editing HKCR/Directory/Background/Shellex (as mentioned in another old topic) but nothing works, still instantly crashing on right-click. (by the way, my computer is fairly old and I get this problem since months so I suspect the registry). There's no special file or folder, it happens to pretty everything (apparently particularly to directories themselves).
I can still drag the files and then delete them after moving but it's extremely annoying when you get all your windows closed after making a Ctrl-C by reflex.

Solution anyone?
Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Same when I select "file" tab or when I press Del (may the slide be blessed).

A:ritght click on title bar closes program

Hi, Mary, and welcome to the TSG forums.

Try this:

Open a COMMAND prompt (looks like a DOS window). If you don't know how to do that, then click on Start > Run > and type CMD in the box, then press Enter. A DOS-type of window should open.

In the DOS-type window (usually BLACK with WHITE lettering), type this:

and then press ENTER.

Just to clarify things, that is the letters CHKDSK, followed by a SPACE, followed by a forward-slash, followed by the letter F.

When you press ENTER, the system will run some checks and THEN tell you that it CAN'T fix the system files until you reboot, and you will need to press the "Y" key, followed by ENTER, in order to make Windows run the CheckDisk program at the next bootup.

Once that is done, close the DOS-type window, close any open programs, and reboot the system. CheckDisk will run at bootup and will (hopefully) be able to correct any problems you might have with the file system.

Be sure to post back here and let us know what happens.

I have been working for the past 3 weeks on a problem with a malware bleeping computer volunteer. No viruses were found. I have uninstalled and reinstalled windows 2000.
The problems have not been fixed.

1. When I open a new (or saved)windows 2000 document, and I try to highlight and right click (to cut) it displays a message "windows has experienced a problem and will need to unexpectantly shut down". It shuts down and I lose all information.

This particular game doesn't require much out of my machine. I've ran this game 5-6 times over just to see and it still ran smoothly, so I know for fact it has nothing to do with hardware (especially because I can still run much more graphically/processor intensive games). Just getting that out of the way.

I have played this game, unchanged, many-a-time pretty much every day, then one day it simply quits working. No update to the game (it does not update automatically), no change whatsoever. It'll just open and immediately close before any kind of content, color, or image is loaded. The whole process of me attempting to run the game and it closing takes less than a second.

I've tried spamming the game to see if maybe a 1 in 100 shot will randomly open it. This didn't work.

I have removed all my firewalls and antivirus, just for sake of testing purposes. This didn't work. Yes, I rebooted.

I have absolutely completely uninstalled the game, then reinstalled it. Rebooted, and it didn't work.

I have tried running as Administrator, or even just disabling the UAC altogether. Rebooted, and it didn't work.

It's an online game. Windows Firewall is disabled, all my ports are open, nothing is justifying what's going on here.

The two previous Firewalls/Antivirus I had were McAfee and Avast.

I am on Windows 7.

A:Game closes immediately after opening

What game and what are you exact PC specs (make and model if its a big brand name, or make and model of motherboard, cpu, gpu, ram, harddrive, power supply including wattage, optical drives etc.)?

At the moment, all you are saying is a random game doesn't work on a undefined machine ... thats not a lot to work with

Hi all,

I need some help urgently.
I hope this is the right place to post by the way.

When I try to upload pictures and press the ''back'' button (ie the button with a folder and a green arrow) the whole screen closes down (and if I do this online, ie photobucket etc) the same thing will happen. I can't get past it, just trying to go to another folder closes everything down.

I've tried turning pc off and restarting in the hope it was a temporary error, but it still does it!

Does anyone know what is wrong and what I can do to correct the problem?

Many many thanks

The title says it all ! I am running a fully updated Windows 10 Pro Eng. Build 10586.
I go to the start menu, click on settings and when I click on the Update & Security button the window just vanishes !
I have restarted and tried several times to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You.

A:Settings window closes after I click on the Update & Security button ?

Troubleshooting suggestion :

Right click at Start button > click Command Prompt (Admin) > at the flashing prompt, copy/paste this.......
sfc /scannow

> press Enter.
It will take quite sometime.
When finished, it will give you one of the 3 reports...............(paraphrasing)
1. No integrity violation.
2. Found corrupt files and repair successful.
3. Found corrupt files but unable to repair.

If the report is #1, your solution lies elsewhere.
If the report is #2, check if your problems have been resolved.
If the report is #3, use this method................
In the same Command Prompt (Admin) windows, copy and paste this command...........

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

> press Enter.
Again it will take some time.
When finished, it will give you a report.

I purchased a new system over a month ago. Before buying SimCity 3000 Unlimited, I had encountered no problems. Now, as I try running this game and The Sims, they quit and it jumps back to the Windows environment. What should I do? I believe that if I completely uninstall SimCity 3000 Unlimited, the computer will run better, but there really is no reason why it should be cutting off game play and jumping back to the Windows environment, anyway. I'm really purturbed. Please someone explain why it keeps doing that. Thank you.

P.S. I haven't downloaded any additonal items for play in The Sims, either. I currently have Sims Vacation expansion pack.

All of a sudden I can no longer open or close new tabs using the middle mouse click (clicking the scroll wheel) it doesn work in ie or in firefox. Also seems like it doesn't work on the desktop or any other application. I have'nt installed new updates or new programs, I don't have any "mouse software" like intellipoint. This affects both my wireless keyboard with built in trackball and a serperate wireless scrollmouse. The only think I can think of is that a few days ago I changed the the speed of my cursor.. of course this shouldn't have affected anything else.... but it is really annoying as I mostly use my computer for web browsing and always open links in new tabs... I am having a severe problem with ads displaying when I click on links to other sites.

I am in Ebay and click on an item I might be interested in and when I click an an ad or webpage opens up to "Quibids.com". Have to close it and click again on the link I first clicked on.

I am on Yahoo Finance Page. Click on a Stock Ticker lookup and it goes to some site wanting me to buy Penny Stocks or put your money in xyz brokers.

Click on Yahoo Sports, goes to somewhere else.

And on and on, even some woman comes up and says congratulations...blah, blah, blah.

Anyone know how to stop this?

I have used the Malwarebytes, search and destroy, AdwCleaner, Revo Uninstaller, FSS, Norton, rougekiller, just to mention a few.

Ever how this got in my computer got passed Norton Security Suite.

I really need some solution short of re formatting and re installing xp pro.

Thanks and Have a Great Day,
