Game Crashing 10-15 minutes in!

Q: Game Crashing 10-15 minutes in!

Ok i Have a new computer just built it myself

Mobo:Asus Crosshair
Process: 5600+ AMD
PS: 550W
Video: Asus 8800 GT
Mem: 2GB
Store: 400GB

I have underclocked, i have added more fans. So there is no overheating

I did run a program called Prime95 and it gave me this message

FATAL ERROR:Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware Failure Detected consult stress.txt file

Does anybody know what that means, and is there any other program i can use to find out what hardware is messed up. Thx

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Generally speaking, something is out of whack between your memory and cpu settings.

I recently received my HP Envy 750-055xt. I've updated all drivers through HP Support Assistant, Windows Update, and GeForce Experience. Verified the integrity of my Steam games and installed Battle.net games. No matter what game I try to play, if it is at all graphically intensive, the video crashes between 5-10 minutes after I start running. The monitor goes dark and says "no signal" and the video does not come back. The audio seems to keep going most of the time, so the computer isn't crashing per se, but I lose all video signals and can not get them back until I restart the computer. This happens with Steam games: XCOM 2, CSGO, Wasteland 2 and Bnet games: Heroes of the Storm. Hearthstone is the only game I've tested where this did not occur. I tried running the computer in Windows 10 and Windows 7, using the SSD or the optical hard drive to install the games. I've updated everything I can think of: GPU driver, monitor driver, processor driver, OS updates, security updates, etc., etc.. The computer seems to otherwise run normally (surfing the web, updating, etc.) My specs HP Envy 750-055xtIntel Core i7-4790k cpu 4.00 GHz quad core16 GB ram64-bit OS, Windows 7 MonitorAcer R240HY 23.8" widescreen display 1920 x 1080, connected with HDMI.

Hi everyone.
My name is Boo and i'm from sweden. I recently bought a new computer. Asus CM6650! A great computer... However i'm having a lot of trouble, that just makes me wanna throw the f***** computer out of the window.

This computer is brand new (5days old) And for some reason, whenever i play any fullscreen game, with good quialty, it freezes. All i can do is hold down the power button. Cause nothing else works. Even the mouse wont move.

This is what i've done so far.
Restarted the pc.
Installed new drivers
tried to play with the settings
Looking for a problem by right clicking on ''my computer'' (none found).

I don't think its over heating.. As said its brand new. And its absoutlty lagg free. But the only problem is that the game freezes.

Every time I play a game at start it runs great.. then after 15-20 minutes everything gets slower and slower, I mean really slow. Movement and sounds are going slower and slower when time progresses. I have updated my sound drivers, updated my DirectX. It's like something eats up my ram or my soundcard is causing it. And when everything gets slow I quit the game and windows is then also very very slow. And sometimes my soundcard crashes, giving a loud beep sound. It's driving me NUTS.

first of all is this limited to this game alone?do other games run fine?check for any overheating signs, install the latest drivers for your video card and your mobo, direct x and any other update.see if you meet the minimum requirements for the game.(this was just the official response you would get from a techie..so bear with me)

if this is happening in this game only and not in any other and your pc isnt overheating and meeting the minimum requirements, then there is a good chance its an issue with your optical drive, try a combo drive if you've got any around.its an incompatibility issue with some of the games.good luck

I have an ongoing issue where I log onto the glyph launcher, log onto my server, play for a while, sometimes hours with no issue but then BOOM, the game just closes on me and I'm booted back to the launcher. I have to push the PLAY button again, log into the server again, but it seems once the game boots me out then the crashing becomes more frequent.

I at first reported it to Trion support (useless) all they do is copy and paste previous responses from previous games sometimes not even removing the other game titles from it, but all in all I have spent over a month with them and I have:

1. Expanded my paging file to initial size of 1X RAM size max size 2X RAM size (to handle the memory of the game)
2. Switched from DirectX11 down to DirectX9 and back again. (in game)
3. Lowered my FPS (frames per second) to 100 (in game)
4. Switched off Multithread rendering and VSync (in game)
5. They have also had me change the priority of the game archeage.exe to high to see if that helps and it doesn't
( I would start the launcher, log onto the game and the server, go into the character screen, then cntrl + alt + delete into task manager and right click the process and set the priority to high then go back into the game)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I had this issue since yesterday: whenever i try to play a game it seems like my PC just shuts down after a few minutes. I have no idea what causes this. So far i tried reinstalling one of the games, i ran a bunch of memtests overnight and am generally helpless right now.

-Whenever it happens my screen goes black and i get a tiny message from the screen itself that would appear aswell whenever i just power the screen. I can still hear ingame sound, but only the ambient sound. Everything like movement or attack sounds are gone. There is no FPS loss or anything indicating the issue, it just shuts down and i have to restart the PC to get any control back.

-The issue seems to appear with games that are a little more "complex" (Dead by Daylight, League of Legends) as it didnt happen with simpler games (Hearthstone). It doesnt seem to matter that a game is in fullscreen, borderless or windowed, as it still crashes without fail.

I really hope someone can point me into the right direction here. If there is anything i can do to help the diagnosis, I'll gladly do it. I dont even know if its a software or hardware problem so far and if its fixable or not.

My specs are in my spec icon, I recently had problems going through the BSOD every 15-30 minutes. After dropping a lot of processes from around 75-80 to 60 i havent had BSOD since.

But now i have just installed my new PSU and i decided to overclock once more, but the intel heatsink just doesnt work as well as it use to and my CPU temperatures climbed to above 70c so I put everything @ factory clocks only changing the memory voltage to 2.1V.

after going from OC'ing to factory clocked COD WaW crashes every 15-25 mins online...and world in conflict shut down on me within 2 mins when playing. it just completely powers down and i power it up again and windows does not give me an error message to report. i will do a memtest by end of the day...also i just updated my Bios and I'm up-to-date with all known drivers, except my audio card i cant find an update for that yet.

Now i need any advice on what I need to check up on, and/or reinstall anything whether i passed the memtest or not.? thanks

As the topic says my PC is crashing every 5 minutes. This just started happening yesterday and I haven't installed anything significant on my PC.

Attached is my dump report.

Thank you in advance for any help.

A:PC crashing every 5 minutes

The BSOD is caused due to nvidia card. When you executed the DM log collectro, the computer was unable to detect it.

Open the computer, Seat the card properly. Then uninstall the installed display driver using Display driver uninstaller.

Now install 340.52 WHQL.

Follow NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems to have a trouble free driver installation.

When done, stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark. Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Symptoms:
A Microsoft update (Vista SP2) just installed and now after a few minutes of random surfing with IE8 it hangs. Even though only one session and one tab of IE8 is visible, four instances appear in Task Manager. I have to kill all four instances of IE via TM. Rebooting does not clean up the problem. I have deleted the cache to no avail.

I can run without addins and it seems to operate normally. I have other browsers (opera, firefox) that operate normally.

Good afternoon all,

My partner's PC decided to start acting up on windows xp, so after a few attempts to fix it we decided to go down the windows 8 option since it was on special offer at the time. After a few installations failed to boot properly (i.e. they'd install and then crash) we did a complete format and reinstall. As it stands we can get into windows 8, it works fine for a few minutes and then it crashes (no BSOD, just a freeze, no mouse movement etc). We've tried a couple of fixes (ran "bcdedit /set disabledynamictick no" and yes in cmd and refreshing the install) unfortunately nothing seems to stop it from crashing 3-5 minutes into the boot. Was wondering if anyone here would be so kind as to point me in a possible direction

Specs are as follows

ASROCK N68C-S UCC (flashed to 1.6 latest bios)
AMD Phenom 8550 2.2ghz triplecore
4 GB nonspecific memory (2x2GB
ATi 5770 Gfx
Samsung 350gb hard drive
TP-LINK TL-WN851ND Wireless card
430W Corsair Power supply

Many thanks in advance

A:Windows 8 Crashing after several minutes

How does it run if you boot to Safe Mode with Networking? If okay, then do Windows Updates from there a few times and see if that resolves the issue, which may be device driver related.

Also test the ram. Download Memtest86+ (you want the 2nd one Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)). Unzip it then create a CD from the iso file using your CD burning software. There is a good freeware burner called ImgBurn which will do this easily.

DO NOT burn the .iso file directly to CD. It must be used as input to a program that knows what to do with it, like the one I mentioned above.

You can do this on any computer that has a working CD Burner.

Boot the CD and run for at least 3 complete passes unless it shows errors sooner than that. An overnight run is even better.

Hi and welcome

There are a couple of problems

1-sptd.sys used in daemon tools and alcohol is a huge cause of BSOD's

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads

Hi guys, I'm experiencing constant crashing after logging into my computer after a few minutes. I'm currently running in safe mode with networking so this leads me to believe some kind of program is causing this. The problem is I can't identify what is causing this. I'll attach an Event Viewer log in my post. Another thing I should mention is that this computer is very new, as in just yesterday I finished building it and installing the OS.

A while back my PC had started making a very loud and vibrating noise like a "brrrrrrrrr"
I didn't consider it too big of a problem considering it didn't effect anything. Then last night when playing Skyrim it did this: just stopped. What ever noise was playing started to loop and the computer just stopped. Didn't turn off, simply didn't do anything until I held down the off button. Until today it only did that when I tried Skyrim. Now:
No matter what the computer goes black until it's turned off with the button. It still makes a deep "brrrrrrrr" noise and is inoperable.

Worth mentioning:
My disc drive was getting near full
I had installed virtual drives that had disappeared yesterday as well for some reason from the my computer
It's a windows 7 64 bit

Please help if this PC is gone I can't get a new one for years...and that's very, VERY troublesome. At least not a powerful one like this one

A:Computer is crashing every 5-10 minutes.

Sorry, it is operable but will go into the Blackmode and has to he turned off.

A:Something crashing my computer w/in 10 minutes

Everyone,

I think I found a solution - Nielsen Net Ratings malware was on my computer.
Thanks to the board's database of malware, I was able to uninstall this.

Previously, after about 10 minutes, the bluescreen would flash but was garbled and flashed for only half a second, then the computer would reboot. All my attempts at running malware scans were interrupted.

I was able to run the RSIT program, and it found nothing. So I posted nothing.

Now, per the guidelines, I am able to run Kaspersky online scanner, without (hopefully, touch wood) getting the flashed bluescreen - reboot problem.

I had already run Kaspersky before getting to this forum, so I knew it must be something recent. It was.

So far, so good.

If any other problems arise, I will repost.

Windows has been getting progressively worse for a while now, but for the last few days has been horrible, and now it is crashed completely.

Again, I've had some issues for a while, but they were alright before this.
I'll just describe what has brought me to this immediate point.

Got home this evening and tried to open a website on Firefox. The page would not fully load. I tried opening it in other browsers, and that worked a little better. I pulled up the task manager to see if I could see anything strange.
I noticed that the CPU usage was at 100%. I checked the processes area and saw that svchost.exe was really cranking away and that rundll32.exe was sometimes pulling up multiple entries of syswow64\WININET.dll, sometimes six or seven of them.
What is happening now is that Firefox is useless, and after a little while the computer crashes, sometimes to BSOD and sometimes just cuts off.

I did recently deal with what looked to be a virus in the temp folders that was opening hidden webpages and slowing everything down. I cleaned out temp entirely and it went away and worked fine.

I do not have a Windows 7 restore disk.

Please help me out

This has been happening for quite a while now but sometimes it plays nicely and does allow me to get some work done. However it's happening with alarming frequency now and it's causing massive inconvenience.

I really need to do something right away as I'm only managing to type this in Safe Mode.

I've seen various threads in different places in the past about Event Viewer and System Dump Files etc, but I don't understand any of it, let alone what to do about it.

I really want to avoid having to re-install Windows as I have too many applications and settings etc and restoring everything would be a major chore, plus I'd never know what the problem was.

In case it's useful, here's an event log file that covers the last 2 crashes (I think):

Hello, I have had problems here before and I got good help! So, now I am back. This time this problem is confusing me... Every five minutes I recieve the BSOD and it says critical_process_died. The weird thing is, I reset my computer back to factory settings and as soon as I booted it did it again... I got my computer to work for like 10 minutes and as soon as I thought it stopped for good, it did it again.

My PC sometimes crashes during bootup too.

Edit: I was just downloading something and halfway in it said something like "Failed to download and install files". Then the taskbar in the bottom of my screen disapeared and my computer got the BSOD saying "Critical_Process_Died"... This is frustrating!

A:Windows 8 Crashing Every 5 Minutes

Okay I now have to use my phone as my computer got a bsod 10 minutes into use and now continuously gets it in startup or as soon as everything loads up..

Don't say it's because of updated drivers because I reset my PC and it uninstalled all my updated drivers and now I can't even install them.
Edit: I added another ZIP File because now my computer just crashes so much and I can hardly do anything but rarely out of all the crashes it will show a BSOD.

My problem is that everytime I play a game, regardless if I play on low resolution or high, my Graphic card crashes after 5-10 minutes.
I have a pritty bad Graphic card so I think that's why, but I wonder if it is maby a old or bad driver that causes the problem?

Is there anyway to change my graphic card to a better?
This is integrated to my motherboard so that's why it's so bad.

Thanks in advance

I just got "Mass Effect" but I can't get through more than five minutes of gameplay before the screen gets covered in garbage and it freezes, needing to be restarted - even on the lowest settings. I'm running it on an nVidia GeForce 8800 GT with all the most recent updates.

According to the Mass Effect summary, my computer's clock speed is 2412 MHz. To my understanding, my card is overheating and I need to underclock my computer to get it working right. However, I don't know what settings to use in the BIOS and messing around with ATITools just crashes my computer even more.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Tech Support Guy Forum!
This is my first post, so i am very sorry if i make any mistakes.
Straight to the point: I have about 2 year old computer, that as far as i remember used to run pretty smoothly. I can't tell the exact date when it started, but right now it is very obvious, since it happens every time when i try to play any game. For example: I turn on CS:GO and in first few minutes - FPS: 300, then after some time it drops to around 100 FPS. I have latest drivers, my GPU temps and usages are all good when gaming, i clean my computer every day and i have ran multiple virus scanning programs.
System Specs:
GPU: Asus GTX 560 Ti 4GB
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-3550 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
RAM: 8 GB
Screen Resolution: 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz

A:Solved: Frame drops in any game after ~10 minutes

Hi and welcome to TSG.

You have missed one of the most important parts for a gaming machine ... the power supply. What is the exact make, model and wattage of yours?

What is the make, model and revision of the motherboard?

Is this a prebuilt system like a HP, Dell, Acer etc or a self / custom build? If it's prebuilt what is the make and model and has any hardware been changed or upgraded?

You say the temps are OK, but what exactly are they? What software are you using to check them? I ask as it is quite common for people to say their temps etc are OK when infact they are not Not saying this is the case for you but always good to check.

What operating system are you using and is it 32 or 64 bit?

What do you mean by you 'clean your computer every day'? Do you mean physically cleaning it inside and out or do you mean software clean up programs?

Hello,

I have recently put together a custom computer for the first time. While I play any game, the GPU will randomly crash. turning the screen black. I can end the process through task manager, but at that point I must then restart the computer or the next time I launch something that uses the GPU, I will get a BSOD. I also have the very latest drivers for my R9 200 radeon.

Ive tryed multiple things to fix the issue and I am getting desperate. I am pretty sure that it is a driver issue and not a "bad card" issue and I do not wish to waste time RMAing a working card just to have the same problem again.

Thank you so much.

Hi guys,

I'm experiencing constant crashing after logging into my computer after a few minutes, and have been going into safe mode to see if it is a driver problem as well as attempt to backup my files. I am not sure if this is considered blue screen but it sure acts like one to my eyes. I have not been able to do much in the short amount of time I have after I log in and was wondering if I could receive assistance.

A little backstory on what happened before this problem:

-My computer randomly shut itself down (as if it was doing an automatic windows update)

-I got into boot and it suggested a CHKDSK which I attempted to skip by hitting a key, but it ignored this each time I tried, and would continue to do CHKDSK.

-Each time the CHKDSK would freeze and crash my computer at around 50% completion, but eventually I was able to get past it and complete the CHKDSK

-WIndows updates ran, and I was eventually presented the log-in screen

-Now I am unable to use my computer for more than a few minutes due to freezes.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

So I just built my computer 1 week ago and since then I have not been able to play a game for more than about 20 minutes. I played before my GPU came in and was also crashing, so I know that it cannot be the GPU. I recently took it apart and put back in the stock cooler and was able to play for a good 4 hours without crashing. The next day it went back to normal and I am still continuously crashing no matter how small the game is (i.e Heavy bullets). I tried downloading minecraft to see if it was just steam games that were crashing but nope, minecraft crashed too, along with League of Legends. I have tried so many things such as checking temp while playing, checking my CPU and disc usage which reach very high even about 100% when playing. It seems to crash a lot faster when I play games online so I'm thinking that it may have to do something with insufficient permissions? I'm not too sure. Drivers are all working fine.

Hello!

For the last couple of days Windows 8 has been crashing on me a dozen times, sometimes I go without a crash for 16 hours, then I get 3 in half an hour. I have a system managed page file, I've set windows up to create a kernel minidump in case of a BSOD, but it just refuses to create one, I don't even have a Minidump folder within my Windows folder.

Turning to the event viewer for help is no use either, there's just some entry about an unexpected shutdown and that's it.

Can you tell me how to get rid of that retarded smiley face, so windows would show actual technical information about the crash?

Thank you!

Basically the screen goes blank and the webcam light comes on for about 3 seconds. If I have the keyboard attached the Shift button light also comes on for 3 seconds. When I restart it it goses through a full restart. In the power settings I have turned off all the hibinating & sleep functions and the screen saver is off. The off button has been set to off not sleep. Any ideas? RegardsDan

From your post it is clear that your ati drivers are causing explorer to crash frequently..

Try updating to the latest version of your drivers.

Use the manufacturers drivers or else update from ati site

Hello everyone, thanks in advance for your help.

I'm having some issues with this computer, it was fine then all of a sudden after downloading search and destroy and spydoctor to clean things up (because it was acting up, and i thought that would help) it has been crashing after a few minutes. Ill get a window that says -- Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. -- Then it has a button to debug, send info or not send info.
Debugging does nothing, after opening my homepage again, it happens again. Im surprised it hasnt done it while im typing this.
AND i have a whole bunch of restricted sites that i NEVER added in my tools > security tab.
I know after running a hijackthis scan and looking over it a bit--not really knowing what im looking for-- but i see somehting that says wormradar. I dont know if thats a bad thing but im sure i have ALOT of bad stuff on here. So heres the log....

Good day to all you Gurus,
I was having problems with frequent irregular crashes. I was advised to replace my power supply which I did and crashes were reduced to 2 or 3 a day [14 - 16 hours usuage a day].
The problem now is that it takes my machine about 15 minutes to reach the Desktop. It now constantly crashes in differing places in the Start up process. Sometimes I get the message "We are sorry for the inconvenience................" and it tells me that it is due to a power failure or the reset button being pressed. I swopped a 300 watt power supply for another 300 watt. Would a larger one posibly help to cure the problem or is it something more serious. I only use this computer for the Internet so I am reluctant to spend a lot of money on it.
Windows XP version 2002 with sp2.
