HP DV6t-6100 CTO Quad dual band + Bluetooth upgrade

Q: HP DV6t-6100 CTO Quad dual band + Bluetooth upgrade

I would like to know if this model is compatible with the following card:http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Ralink-RT3090BC4-802-11b-g-n-WiFi-N-BT-Bluetooth-PCI-e-Card-SPS-602992-00... If not, then what kind of dual band + bluetooth card CAN I get? Also, is my system eligible for Win 10 upgrade? It says upgrade now or later but I have friends with the upgrade making their system freeze, corrupt recovery partitions and refuse to restore. Any help I would LOVE! Oh! Also, How would one partition part of their HDD to be used as RAM and is that even a good idea? I'm learning.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I was wondering what ALL my upgrade-able options were in this? Like I would prefer to have a Dual-Band 2.4/5Ghz + Bluetooth wireless adapter in here. I also know I can upgrade to a BD-Drive. I have the RAM upgrade I want, and I plan to upgrade the HDD. Are those ALL I can upgrade? Or is the GPU interchangeable or can I also switch out CPU's to a higher end i7? And if I can do all this, where and what should I look for?

installed intel ac-3160 dual band + blue tooth in a Sony notebook system wont allow blue tooth to start.
also there is no interface available to connect any hardware to it, i know it has something to do with some Vaio software on the system.
it allows me to use dual band mode and it shows that blue tooth is present but disables it claiming interference with 2.4 GHz band.
now i have had blue tooth dongles installed working while using 2.4 GHz band before with no issues, so i don't get the issue now.
any input would be appreciated.

I have a Pavilion dv6t-6100 model lm330av, and I need to replace the fan (which has failed) and the heat sink (which I am replacing because this unit has historically had cooling issues). I am unable to download the specs for this model from HP's web site.  For whatever reason, they are unavailable for download. I have a copy of the DV6 series maintenance and service guide, which indicates that there are several heat sinks available, depending on whether the unit in question has an Intel or AMD processor, and discrete or UMA graphics memory. I know that this unit has an Intel processor; but I cannot find out what kind of graphics it has. Can anyone tell me which type of graphics it has, and/or which type of heat sink assembly I will need? Thank you.

A:dv6t-6100 Fan/Heat sink replacement

That is a Custom to Order (CTO) model and might have been configured a number of ways. Odds are it has discrete video. You know, the very simple way to tell what you need is to go ahead and open it up. You are going to have to do that, anyway, right? The fan/heatsink has a sticker on it with the HP Part number. Just order a replacement based on that, which is actually completely foolproof.

I have a Pavilion DV6T-6100 with i7 @ 2Ghz laptop running Windows 10 x64. Boot up had always taken a lot of time with the original hard drive, so I just installed a SSD as a replacement to help speed things up. When booting up, the HP splash screen appears for 2 seconds, then the 'blue window' logo for about 5 seconds. Next the screen goes blank/black for 1 minute 20 seconds. Aftwards, the windows desktop comes up and everything runs quite quickly. This happened with the original hard drive as well as the new SSD. The basic question is: what is causing this 1 minute + delay during Windows boot-up? I seem to remember that it can be caused with display drivers, but I see nothing in the BIOS to change, and there are no problems reported with the display drivers in Device Manager. The laptop is super quick, other than this annoying delay during bootup. Any input appreciated!

Hi: See if unchecking the fast startup in the Power Options menu in the control panel resolves that problem. I have an old HP 6910p business notebook that I installed W10 on, and it would give me that black screen. My problem was that it would not get to the desktop at all. Unchecking fast startup resolved the problem for me. Boots right up, no delays, no black screen. Control Panel>System & Security>Power Options>Change What the Power Buttons Do>Uncheck Turn on Fast Startup.

Hey guys. So I recently customized my laptop . I had a HP Pavilion dv6 6169-us with Intel HD 3000 intergrated graphics with 64MB dedicated memory and I switched the motherboard with that of a HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad Edition with Intel HD Graphics and AMD 6770m with 2GB of dedicated video memory . Its obvious why I did the custimization. So anyway all the drivers automatically installed (which were like 20ish) when I first booted the system with the new motherboard except the video drivers. I found the right graphics drivers for the dv6t-6100 CTO (Which HP Support's site detects as my laptop now) which is for Intel HD Graphics and switchable to AMD 6770m. Everything went off without a hitch. I enabled AMD 6770m in the Catalyst Control Center so I can now play my favorite games thats now supported with my new GPU but when I play its extremely laggy as if its still using Intel HD Graphics. Now I was thinking one of two things. Either something is wrong with the drivers, which I doubt because at the begining of installation it said it was for AMD 6770m with Intel HD switchable graphics. Or that my power adapter is too weak. My AC Adapter is 35W I believe. Would it make a difference in gaming preformance if I got a 120W AC adapter? I looked online and I havent seen anything about a dv6t-6100 CTO Quad needing a 120W adapter but maybe its the common sense thing to do. Anyway. If the power adapter were not capable of providing enough power the laptop would shut off. You need to set the Catalyst Control Center to run the dedicated video on an application by application basis. Find the executable for the game and set it to run on the high performance video chip by right clicking on it.

No. Sorry. That model still has the HP BIOS whitelist which will prevent the laptop from booting if anything other than officially sanctioned wireless cards are installed. I just upgraded my laptop wireless adapter from "Broadcom BCM43142" to "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac" upon confirmed that the new card is supported from service manual.  Both latest Intel wireless and bluetooth drivers are installed (18.33.0.2 and 18.1.1611.3223 respectively). AC connection works perfectly fine; however, the bluetooth seems to be having issue here.  For pairing and maintain active connection between bluetooth device and laptop, I have to put them right next to each other literally.  Any distance more than 10cm apart, the bluetooth device will be inactive and unusable.  I don't have such problem with Broadcom which I can perform pairing and maintain active connection even a meter apart.  Does anybody face the same issue before with Intel AC 3160 bluetooth?  Or is this a hardware issue with the card itself?

Hello, I currently have a wireless WRT54G router in my home. I have a laptop wirelessly connected, one computer wired, and three more wirelessly connected, all with G adapters ATM. So that is a total of 5 computers wireless and one wired.

I was thinking about as a Christmas present for myself upgrading to the new N networking. However, I would keep all the G adapters, except for one, which I would put into the laptop. Do you think I would see an increase in speed in the N laptop?

Also, I am using Comcast High Speed Internet. Do you think I should get the Dual-Band N Wireless Router, or the Ultra RangePlus Wireless N Router? I am not sure how the 5 gig band works, or what it is exactly, but I thought it would be nice to have for the future? IDK? Also what about the 310N router? Just a thought. Thanks!

What do you think I should do in my situation? Thanks. Please feel free to ask me any questions!

Hi just got my new laptop yesterday , DV6t-7000, and before posting my problem I've search everywhere include these forums for a solution.  I've all ready updated the bios, and updated the 650m with the newest drivers from HP's website.  I know that in the bios under "system configuration" there should be an option to change from "dynamic" to "fixed" graphics, but that option isn't there.  Was looking forward to using this laptop for gaming, but was thinking that since I'm still within my 21 days that I should just return the laptop and maybe wait until they fix this issue.

Hello,

See my system specs for my laptop make and model. I cannot get the audio driver to install. I have tried two drivers from the HP website that it recommended for this model (sp55094.exe and sp51637.exe) as well as allow Windows Update to locate it for me. It's not working. It is an IDT software, specifically for Beats Audio. And it simply is not installing. It says the hardware is not supported.

Disclaimer: I did get a new mobo over Christmas break, but it was matching identical to the original I'm not sure why the audio's not wanting to work.

A:HP Pavilion dv6t 6000 Quad Edition - IDT Audio Driver Issue

Reinstall the Intel motherboard chipset drivers and then see if the IDT will install. Since you had the motherboard replaced the chipset drivers may need to be reinstalled. One of the things the chipset drivers do is define (Identify) all the devices on the motherboard. I have seen many Intel based motherboards that will have problems specifically with the audio chip if the motherboard drivers were not installed during Windows installation.

The Intel chipset drivers are listed on the HP download site for your model.

Hi there!

So about 2 months ago, I purchased the AC53 when I moved in to a house share.
We have Virgin Media SuperHub that does both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
When I installed it, it worked fine and connected excellently to the 5G band, a few days ago however the 5G connection disappeared off my list and now it always connects me to the 2.4ghz band.

Tried resetting my SuperHub and re-installing the drivers and software utility for the AC53 but alas it doesn't show. My phone however can find and connect to the 5G band.

I'm a bit confused as where to go from here!

Any help would be much appreciated!

After re-installing you can't connect at all or just only connect to 2.4?

Can you run ipconfig /all and post back the results.
Click Start, in the search box type cmd, under programs right click on cmd and select "Run as Administrator".
In the command prompt window type ipconfig /all and press enter.
Next right click within the command prompt and select "Select All" press enter.
Paste the results back in this thread.

OK, this is my first time being a part of or using a tech related forum so here it goes:

I'm trying to help save a neighbor some money by fixing their wireless network.

WNDR3700 Dual band Netgear router.

2.4ghz wireless b/g/n with enabled SSID broadcast, channel=auto, mode set to 130Mbps
WPA-TKIP + WPA2-AES. wireless isolation is not enabled.

5Ghz wireless a/n enabled SSID broadcast, channel = 44, Mode is up to 300Mbps
No security encription. (i know...bad, but the lady has lots of kids and family members coming
and going from the house so she doesn't want one encripted). Video network enabled

Both Radio frequencies are enabled, fragment and CTS/RTS set to max

WPS settings = keep existing.

IPv6 not enabled, No repeating is enabled, No guest networks are enabled(however ssid broadcast is enabled for guest profile 1)
The problem, and reason for fixing the problem is that the 2.4 Ghz band light on the router is ON however the SSID is not being seen by any client in the house. the netgear interface says it is on and working. the neighbor needs the 2.4ghz band to work because the printer is wireless and will only recognize 2.4Ghz SSIDs. Also they have older nintendo DS clients they would like to use on the network.

During the day the 5 Ghz band works with very seldom (1-2) disconnects while the 2.4 Ghz band wont be visible to any device. in the evening both bands will come online, and very often will every computer get disconnected from either, the 5Ghz band wi... Read more

My Billion BiPAC 7800VDOX Dual Band Wireless VoIP ADSL2+ Router has two bands:  2.4GHz and 5GHz.  and is wirelessly connected to my laptop OMEN by HP Laptop PC  17-w007tx.  It always shows as connected via 5GHz band only.  My laptop also shows 5GHz band only in the list of available networks;  2.4GH does not show up in the list of available networks.  It is not so in my other laptop which is also connected to the same router and that laptop shows both the bands in the list of available networks.  Thus, I can choose to connect to any of the two bands as per my choice. I have tested the router and it is working perfectly; there is nothing wrong with it.I wonder what can possibly be wrong in my OMEN laptop that it does not show both the bands which it should. At times, when I click to open the list of available networks, 2.4GHz may appear momentarily only and then disappears; thus I can not choose it for connection. I would appreciate any help to resolve this issue so that my OMEN laptop shows both the bands in the list of available networks so as to choose either one for connection.

N600 Wireless Dual Band Router WNDR3400.

I am trying to get a signal out in my garage at the opposite end of my router location. I am getting 1 bar and "poor" signal. I downloaded inSSIDer to analyse my signal and I notice that my "Wireless Network (5GHz a/n)" is not broadcasting anything. The checkbox for "Enable SSID Broadcast" is checked.

I have very limited knowledge of this stuff but it seems to me that if it is a dual band that I should be seeing 2 different signals, right?

All I see is this: Wireless Network (2.4GHz b/g/n)

I have attached screenshot of my settings

Can someone help me out with this? Thanks, Joe
