I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi everyone, Just received my T450s. Installed the rear battery, then plugged in the power.  On my old T510 I have an indicator showing me when I have power hooked up, and indicates the charging status of my battery.  I don't see anywhere on the T450s chassis that indicates the status of the battery charge. The only thing I will see is the dot on the "i" on the top cover, flash when I connect power.  Surpised there isn't a status indicator. Peter

A:Just got my T450s - no battery charging indicator?

No, there is no charging indicator on the T450s. By popular demand, Lenovo added one back to the T460s.

I have a brand new Pavillion 15. Product number:L2U58EA#ABUSerial number:5CD5040VVW The battery displays as pluged in and not charging, the notebook boots fine on power with no battery, and on power with battery fitted. However it will not boot off battery alone and the battery indicator LED does not show a charge. It briefly shows orange but then moves to blinking white. I have tried the charger on another HP Pavillion and this works perfectly so the power source does not seem to be the issue. There is no apparent damage to the battery terminals, it just appears to not take a charge. As the machine and bettery are new I would assume there is warranty cover for the battery. Any help is much appreciated.

Hello All,

I recently replaced both my AC adaptor and my power half of the cable for my Satellite C660 laptop.

I replaced my battery in October with a cheaper (non Toshiba one).

Recently, my laptop was plugged in, battery inserted and charging fine.hen

Then it suddenly said "Plugged in, not charging". After a bit it did the emergency immediate shutdown.

I bought a brand new genuine TOSHIBA battery and inserted it. It again said "Plugged in, not charging".

*
Is the problem the laptop moving power into battery [area] or the two new parts of the charging cable (power and AC adaptor) - both bought separately, but the AC adaptor is genuine TOSHIBA.

Please let me know of any thoughts?

Thank you,
Fbo194

Hello, I bought this Ideapad 14IBR on friday and the battery will not hold a charge and it has been at 0% since i bought it. any idea why this is ahppening. do I need to take it back and get another one?

A:Brand New Ideapad 100s 14IBR battery not charging

Well, The battery most likely is Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) and either have been a production defect; or have not been properly charged at the factory; or have been drained completely, been sitting for a long time, then as a result have suffered damages to the chemical bits inside. You may have to return only the battery to the store (If accessible to remove form outside/If not internal) , unless they tell you to bring something else in addition. Sincerely Cklone.

Dear All,I have Lenovo Thinkpad T460S purchased almost a year ago. Today I suddenly faced problem in charging battery. Charger is plugged in and battery icon is showing "plugged in, charging" but actually it is charging very slowly. Normally battery is charged in one hour or so but today it took more than one hours to reach only 24% or so. Furthermore, soon after plugging in, battery icon shows "filling in process" for few seconds then stopped i.e no filling in process. Furthermore, after whole night charging, battery is now 94% charged, battery 2: 100% charged, fully charged; battery 1: 0% charged, not charging (please attached images). Please guide how to get rid of this problem?Thanking in advance. Shahid

My brand new T450S laptop won't wake up from sleep mode at times.  When I close the lid and reopen it, it will show a black screen.  I notice that the red light on the ThinkPad sign on the outside cover remains solid and not blinking on those occasions when I can't wake it up.  When the red light blinks slowly back and forth, then I know I can open it and resume my work.  So what do I do when it is in that solid state and I can't wake it up at all??

Hey, I really need help. I'm having problems with my laptop. It's a dell inspiron 7559 and was bought around January. Recently I have seen that the battery has no longer been as hot as it used to be when I first started using it. Along with the sleeve on the tip of the screen power adapter (below the part where the adapter lights up) has started to come off, exposing the wires. The battery has continually dropped down its percentage rate ever since I bought it, and it won't go back up. It is currently at 0% battery life and it says when you highlight over the battery icon ( plugged in, not charging). It also happens to show the BIO setup when I start the computer and shows that the batteries wattage and type cannot be determined. In the BIOS setup, the ac adapter type is unknown. The battery has not been through any harsh conditions along with the laptop. I have tried removing the battery, starting up the computer with the ac adapter (which is 130 watts), then adding the battery back, and ac adapter, then turning it on, but it had no effects. If I remove my ac adapter while my computer is on ,it instantly turns off. If someone can support me with this issue, it would be gladly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello and peace on you..
I have a DELL Inspiron N5110 from early 2011
I was using the laptop correctly..The laptop was plugged in and the battery was charging..Then i removed the charger let the laptop on battery until suddenly the laptop shuts down without even telling me that the battery is low or even leaving some "emergency" charge on it (usually 7% or 5% i don't know)..I plugged it in to charge it again and open my leptop and i found out that the battery is not taking charge anymore!
I tried to see if the propblem is with the connector and tried to remove and put in again the charger and it ddid not work
i tried also to remove the battery and put it in again, it did not help
Now it is stuck on 2% of charge from 5 days and it's plugged in!
The laptop says that the battery is charging, but actually it is not charging and the charge level is the same from days
I looked up some solutions online like uninstalling ACPI microsof from Device manager and reboot the laptop..It did not work
"Jauge de batterie" which is an integrated software related to DELL, says that the battery health is good and that my battery is working properly
The laptop works fine with only the charger plugged in and battery out
PS: the laptop heats usually but i think it did not affect the battery at all since it was working fine and the charge took me about at minimum 30 min on high performance to be emptyed before this happens.
Please, i'm seeking for help

A:Battery says: Charging, but it is not actually charging while plugged in and is stuck in 2% for 5 days !

First thing to check is wherther the sysetm recognizes the AC adapter - F2 at powerup to check that.
If it doesn't, try a new Dell OEM AC adapter - if that doesn't fix the issue, replace the DC jack board, and if that doesn't solve it, the mainboard.  Note:  you MUST use a Dell adapter - NOT a third party unit.
If the system DOES recognize the AC adapter, but won't charge the battery, chances are the battery is bad and will need to be replaced.
You cannot solve the issue without checking and, if necessary, replacing these parts.

Hi ! Over the past two weeks I've spent my time troubleshooting why my recently (used) bought X240 is not charging the internal battery. Short timeline: 1. Bought used X240 in good condition but with dead internal and external battery - working well when using power supply.2. Came home and tested that thing -> both batteries show "0% - not charging" (with Win10Pro installed) *suprise, surprise*3. Ordered both new internal and external battery.4. External battery came 1.5 weeks ago. Installed it and worked like a charm (Battery 2 (external): X%, charging).5. Internal battery came the day before yesterday. Installed it and did not work -> "Battery 1: 53% - plugged in, charging - Battery 2: 6% - plugged in, not charging)6. Waited the recommended 6-12 hours like it was written in the "manual" to get it fully charged.7. Next morning -> Batterystatus unchanged (see point 5) ... It's stuck at 53%. Though the status says it's charging, it doesn't.8. Simply tried out what's going to happen when I pull the cable of the power supply -> Notebook instant off *hmmm*9. As the external battery was obviously blocked from charging by the internal (as it was not charged), I've taken out the internal battery again and et voila, external battery is charging again.I've tried to remove both batteries and perform the "Magic Trick" (press the main power switch for 30 secs) and I've also pushed the "reset" switch on the backside near the battery. Sadly without any result ;-(... Read more

Hi...

I am having a problem with my laptop computer. I figured out that my laptop, when being charged or using the Power Outlet, runs at 100% CPU at times, and slows me down when running and working on some open applications. At first I thought I had tons of spyware or even a virus, and even posted a Hijackthis file here. Nothing was found.
I figured out that my cpu runs at 100% when using the power outlet, or when my computer is chargnig. When I unplug the powercord and use the battery life, everything runs GREAT!!!!! my cpu drops to a normal 4-8% usage with multiple applications running. WEIRD huh? Can anyone relate to this ?? Is this and indication that my battery is going bad???? Can someone help me with this or suggest what is going on? I am running windows XP home edition, and have a compac presario 1500 series. Hi, I like that my T450s has 2 batteries. But the thing that bothers me is that the removable battery is drained first entirely prior to using the built-in battery. I've noticed that this increases the "cycle count" of the removable battery as essentially the battery has been completely used. In other laptops this is not a problem as they come with 1 battery and the cells are depleted uniformly.  This has only become a concern for me when I want to use the laptop for long hours without a charger. This would increase the cycle count of the removable battery if done on a daily basis. By doing so will I be ruining the battery life ?  Pls let me know, thanks.

A:T450s - How many cycles can the removable battery ...

Not sure, but I guess this is a bit by design, True the external is wearing more by having more cycles, but this also means that the internal one has a increased live time. The external one will be the first to wear, but is also the more easy one to replace .I already have 2 externals with my laptop. But I get your point and I'm curious about it too. Depleting a battery fully will wear a Li-ion more then not fully depleting it (if my study's where right that is). So it might be true that the less wear on the internal battery does not compare equally to the extra wear caused to the external battery. On the other hand, the extra wear might not be that great to worry about. And this dubble battery design does give us the awesome feature to hot-swap external battery's (which I use quite more that I thought I would).

Hi all, My 2-year old Lenovo T450s is experiencing charging problems. If I plug in the battery charger, it starts charging for a second, it then stops, then the cycle starts again. Needless to say that none of the batteries (neither the built-in nor the external) charge properly. I tried to: (1) buy a new battery charger, (2) unplug the external battery leaving the internal plugged in, (3) unplug the built-in (internal) battery leaving the external plugged in. None of these solutions worked. I then unplugged both batteries and plugged the battery charger, and the laptop works. What do you think? Is it a hardware problem (perhaps related to the motherboard - I can't think of anything else)? Is it a software problem? Thank you in advance for your time! Best, Paolo

Hi everyone, Title says it all, I know this topic of discharging internal battery first has been brought up a lot, and that the reason behind it is this: The T470s are designed to drain the battery with least wear first so as to degrade both batteries equally and prolong the laptop's overall battery life. However, as I'm using a new 61++ battery, clearly somethig is going wrong somewhere as the year old internal battery cannot be in better condition than the brand new external.https://gyazo.com/6c12f3f40514599d04d852a8589189ab Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi,
I have a dell xps 12, bought in 2012. Recently the battery stopped charging. The battery shows 0%, so I have to be plugged in to turn the laptop on. When it is on, the battery icon on the task bar says "plugged in, charging" but after a day it is still 0%.
Since then I bought a new battery. Just fitted it, but now the battery icon on the task bar says "plugged in, not charging". Furthermore, when I Fn+F3 to show the battery meter, it says "battery charging diabled". There is no option here to turn battery charging on. Nor is there an option to enable battery charging in BIOS.
BIOS does show battery performing normally, so does the battery meter (Fn+F3). BIOS also shows AC adapter as 45W, which is the original adapter.
Any help is appreciated!

Hello,

I got a T450s, brand new and everytime I am not plugged in (it's a laptop after all) the computer litteraly slows down to a point where it is unusable, a simple key (space, a letter, a number) will usually take 3-5 second and sometimes up to 20 seconds to register, no software is usable, CAD, video playback and authoring, completely useless when on battery. The thing is this is a laptop, I WILL use it on battery. That is despite me choosing high performance in the Lenovo power manager.

Anyway I can fix this?

Can someone help me with this problem? So I just received my brand new Dell Inspiron 15 3000 and the battery is not charging. It says it's "Plugged In, Charging" but it never goes up and stays at 0%. At first I thought I just need to plug it in for several hours but it's been 5 hours now and still the battery stays at 0%. I tried running the BIOS Diagnostics just to see if there are problems and there's none. The battery status says everything is running normally and the Battery State says it's Idle. I tried draining the flea power several times, removing and reattaching the battery, but to no avail. I'm getting really frustrated and I'm really close to throwing this laptop back to Dell.
I read somewhere that I have to update the BIOS but it won't update unless the battery is charged at least 10%. Someone also suggested that Windows 8.1 is causing the problem. I haven't even started using this laptop and it's already giving me a *** ton of problems. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks guys! :)

The battery status toggles between not charging, not used, and unauthorized battery after it was calibrated using one key. Before that, the battery was working perfectly, lasting close to 5 hours. Now the laptop shuts off when unplugged and the battery status is constantly changing. I've had this laptop for approximately a year now and it was unused and left in an unopened box for the first 8 months.

Hello.  I would be grateful if someone can help me with solving the following battery issue.
My XPS13 9343 (with Windows 10, 2015 model) recently stopped charging when connected.  I have conducted BIOS test, stress test, system test, battery test recommended on Dell forum, but could not find any issues.
Then ran device manager and checked & updated drivers, tested for virus, scanned the system, but could not detect any issues.
Lights on AC adopter is on (static) , and the front light under the touch pad turn on white briefly when connected then turn off immediately when plugged in (when disconnected, orange light comes on).
It seems charging is disabled...I might have touched keys without realizing (I checked whether there were hot key to enable/disable charging, but could not find one).
Since it is an ultrabook, and the battery has no issues, I have not opened the back to take out the battery.
I brew into the connecting hole, but it did not solve the issue.
Please help!

HI , I'm have ing trouble with my HP Pavilion 15p077TX  Notebook (1yr 6 months old), its battery charge got stucked at 2% (nor further charge loss nither is it getting charged), I'm currently using it via my AC Adaptor and the irony is that I'm posting this from it in the same condition. Things i've tried so far:- Updating the bios (Current BIOS Version/Date : Insyde F.42, 18-03-2015) {I have a doubt about the bios version here cause when I tried to check the current bios its showed me this one and F.7 for Intel Processor, not sure If its the proble with this case.}- Uninstialling the ACPI -Compliant Control Method Battery andn then redetecting it- Updating the support assistant and running the battery check which gives an unknown 93 error (tried both VERSION:  8.2.8.25 and VERSION: 7.7.34.34 )- Unpluging the battery and the ac adapter and holding the power button for a whole minute-Tried HP Diagnostic Tools' Battery Check which took like 10-15 minutes and responded as no battery is pluged in. Right now I don't have much in my mind to try on this, If anyone knows anything please do share, that might me helpful. Thanks in Advance.Enigma

Hey @EnigmaDimirti, Welcome to the forums. I'm here to help. I would strongly suggest Testing and Calibrating the Battery. Should that not solve the issue, I would suggest calling in for support to see about replacing the battery, as it should not be displaying "no battery is pluged in" when you run a battery check. Please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a case for your issue and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link below to get the contact information for your region.http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html If this helps, please hit that Thumbs Up, and Accept as Solution. Cheers,TechSurge.

After a long journey, both batteries in my T450s were flat, and this morning when I plugged in and booted up I got the message that "The battery installed is not supported by this system and will not charge".  True to its word, one of the batteries does not seem to be charging.  These are the original batteries which came with the laptop when bought new from Lenovo.  They have performed well since I received it, no problems to date, and no obvious reduction in performance.  How can I get the battery charging again? Thanks for your help.

I am running an HP Pavilion dv7 3165dx notebook with Windows 10 Professional. I purchased an extended life battery earlier this week and installed it 11/10/16. At first it charged to 26% and stopped, then only to 4% and now it doesn't even recognize the battery and upon running the UEFI program both with the new battery as well as the old, original, battery I seem to come up with the same results, a Failure ID of 9UTQ58-51T89V-XD0021-C09T03. At least the battery light blinks with the old battery but the light stays on for about 3 seconds and goes out upon plugging in the charger with the new battery. Any ideas what I can do to cure this annoying issue?

Is it a genuine HP battery or a "compatible" battery? I think the battery you bought may be bad so your recourse lies with the vendor of the battery.

I have an older SL510 laptop, which has been working very well. But recently the battery power was continuing to diminish until recently, it stopped holding a charge altogether. At this stage, the orange battery indicator started to blink continuously at a rapid rate. I am still able to power up the laptop with my power cord connected. Purchased a new battery to replace the old and assumed light would go to green after charging. Unfortunately, after several hours connected to the charger, the battery light continues its constant orange blinking. Went through the process of uninstalling the ACPI file as noted in another post. Followed these steps:1. Disconnect AC2. Shut down3. Remove battery4. Connect AC5. Startup6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of Microsoft's ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery, and select Uninstall (note that it is all right if you only have one).7. Shutdown8. Disconnect AC9. Insert battery10. Connect AC11. Restart your computerAfter completed this process, battery light continues to blink rapidly and battery doesn't seem to want to charge, or provide any indication that battery is inserted in computer. This happens whether I'm using either of the 2-power adapters I have for this laptop. What can I do to get this fixed??? Thank you in advance for any assistence provided!!!

I am becoming more and more concerned about my laptop's battery each and every passing day. When I check the bottom right of my computer screen to check if my computer battery is completely charged, it says "0% available (plugged in, not charging)". I have had to buy two new batteries because of the same thing and they also read "0% available (plugged in, not charging)". When I unplug my laptop from the power source, it turns off automatically. I cannot even bother calling Dell to check this issue for me because I bought this computer off the street for $35.

My question in general is how do I get this problem fixed and how do I keep an eye on how my laptop computer charges correctly (or not)???

The common method is:
- Create a System restore point
- Uninstall (Under the Batteries category in Device Manager) the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery.
- WARNING: Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver.
- click Scan for hardware changes

HP g6-1b60us Notebook PCHere is the situation and symptoms. Battery not charging. Battery icon indicates battery being charged, but it sits at 5%. Have bought a replacement HP battery and that battery will not charge also (it sits at 50%, which I assume is the initial charge it came with). Run the HP Support Assistant and both batteries fail the test saying that cell 4 is bad (cells 1 to 3 have charge, but cell 4 has a 0 reading, even in the new battery). (Is there a problem accessing/charging cell 4?)When the battery is installed and the AC adaptor is unplugged, and the laptop is turned off, the battery charge LED shows a white LED (red/amber indicates that it is charging the battery); now the only time the LED goes out is when the battery is physically removed. Before the problem began, the battery charge LED would be off when the battery was installed and the charger was not being used. Now the battery charge LED goes off only when the battery is physically removed. What I have tried:Cleaned the contacts.Bought a new HP battery.Tried the complete discharge method of turning the laptop off, removing the power cord and battery and holding the power on key for over 30 seconds.Have done safe restarts.Reset to HP recommended settings.Suggestions/recommendations?

I have just replaced my CMOS/BIOS battery today, as , I have faced some critical problem regarding regular BIOS date/time reset after system shutdown. But I want to know how do i recognize, that my new batter is totally ok or functional.

Battery Meter gadget shows that "battery Not charging"
Is it a gadget problem?

Is there any method available so that I can track that my new installed CMOS battery in PC is working fine?

Please help me.

A:Battery Meter shows CMOS battery not charging

The battery you have replaced is solely there to maintain the clock and other BIOS settings (if you have changed them from their defaults). It will not prevent you from booting your system if it is dead/missing; all it means is that you will have to enter the BIOS each time and make the correct settings and time. This battery is not rechargeable.

Do you still have to enter the correct time, or is the BIOS maintaining this now you've changed the battery?

To whom it may concern.I am in desperate help..... I have tried every solution i have managed to find on the internet but none of them work. I have a HP ProBook 450 G1 Laptop. When plugging the power supply in the batery shows that its charging but it never actually charges but simply remians on at same level.....I have checked the power supply as I have an exact duplicate laptop at my disposal, same with the battery. The battery charges perfectly in the other laptop but not in my laptop. When swithcing the batteries form the other pc it will not charge in my PC. bot both are fine in the other PC. I have removed the battery, checked power supply, un-installed and reinstalled the ACPI-complaint and adapter as suggested by most. I have done what ever solution i can have managed to find but neither have worked but the battery works  just fine when inserting into the other duplicate laptop and charges fine. I have tried to instal or upgrade BIOS settings etc. Nothing has worked for me! Please can someone point me in the correct direction!!!!!! Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Client's relatively new Yoga 500 is exhibiting a weird problem in Windows 10 anniversary edition. The battery is currently at 47% but keeps flickering between charging and not charging. The icon changes every second, possibly faster. Tried swapping power supplies so it's not that. When first reported, the battery was at 40% but then got to 47% during a reboot. The battery on the Yoga 500 is internal so not possible to try swapping batteries. Any ideas or suggestions?
