I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

So I tried updating the BIOS on my Lenovo M92p desktop using Lenovo System Update program. Unfortunately, it didnt work and i ended up with a blank screen. I waited for about 10 minutes and still nothing happened. I decided to hold the power button and had it shut off. After multiple power ons, still no POST. I read the HMM and the section about BIOS boot block recovery. It said I needed to burn an iso file to a CD and also move the CMOS jumper to pins 2 & 3. Since I dont have a cd, I put the bios flash package on a usb drive instead, plugged it into pc, and also moved CMOS jumper to 2 & 3. Computer turns on and there are two beeps. No display. Does this mean I will have to get a CD?

What format was the USB drive?  Try using FAT32.  Failing that, yes, get a CD.

I have a Lenovo y50-70, which I had for about 1-2 years until my screen started to flicker, so I sent it to Lenovo for reparation. Then when I got it back, it was new and the screen was fixed... until year later.  My screen started to flicker AGAIN, but this time it was on a specific angle when you open/close screen. It was worse than before, because sometimes it goes into black screen, and you can't see anything unless you have placed it in the correct angle. Since my warranty expired, I decided to open up the screen using YouTube videos and pictures. I then realized there was a certain part where the screen wire doesn't look the same as mine.  It was because the screen wire was under the screw, which pressured the wire to flicker whenever the screen moves up or down...  WrongRight As you can see, on the right side, the screen is NOT under the screw. However, the left side (screen wire) is placed under the screw, which I found out was not the right way to place it.  I found a picture online where the wire is placed a bit over, so the screw could not pressure the wire making the flickering and black screen. Correct screen wire placement:Screen wire I thought a repair would fix a laptop and thereby extend its lifetime somewhat, but ironically it did the opposite. I bought this laptop two years ago. Recently, a weird white/grey rectangle block appears sometimes, can't be predicted. Please see attached screenshot.  My system is windows 10 64bit.   For most of the time, if I reboot my system, the block will disappear. However, for a couple of times, the block sticks on screen for a while.  I tried to uninstall the monitor driver (Intel), but it didn't work. I also tried to upgrade the driver from the system upgrade, but it didn't work either. I tried the drivers from Intel and Levnov, none of them worked.  I saw anothe weird thing once (I forgot to take screenshot). The block is showing lines (colored) instead of a full block.  In addition, I have a friend remotely connecting my computer when I have the block on my screen, but he doens't see any block from his side. So I'm wondering if this is a physical issue such as cable issue or monitor issue? I'm not sure if anyone expeirenced the same issue, but posting question here to get help. Thank you in advance for any suggestion and help!

My yoga-730 15 had a keyboard problem. I send it to Lenovo repair center to repair. Now it is back, but the ASDJKL keys(same keys before repair) stopped to work again just in one day... I suspect that Lenovo has not repaired it at all. I just wasted 2 weeks for waiting and I got a dirty unrepaired laptop back :CCCC  And there are many issues on this laptop, too. For example, when I turn around the display, sometimes the laptop just suddenly shut down. and the battery life really sucks, only can handle around 2h or 2h30min for web browsing on either of chrome and Microsoft edge. the fan is really loud. When I web browsing, doing nothing else, the fan noise will make the people around me notice me.

Has anyone ever had a worse experience with computer repair, or is it just me? This is unacceptable from a major computer company!  The Lenovo repair facility in Louisville,KY has had my computer for 6 weeks because they don't have the parts to fix it in stock! On top of that Ive been flat out lied to 3 times when i called repair status.I was assured 3 times that my parts were in and the technician was working on it as we spoke! Ready to ship out!When I check the status online it says they still don't have the parts! No one can tell me anything.I've recommened Lenovo to friends looking for a good computer. I even bought my son one for his college studies. I will no longer do this because of the repair nightmare I'm in right now! And I will definitely look elsewherefor my computer needs!I like the computer, but this kind of service makes it not worth it.

My 2nd P70 and things aren't better Please don't buy a P70 if you have to rely on 1 system - I am officially done with lenovo and any future products that they create (same with my studio and professional friends who followed my issues because they were thinking about buying the same system) - I understand issues at times but the repetitiveness of these issues and the time it takes for no resolution is absurd. I'd write more but i'm to upset so I figured I just write down the dates and link to the forms were it all started July 28th (get my computer)June 1st (phone-in to get onsite repair of a new screen - service tech was complaining that there system kept going down but I will have someone come out as soon as they get the part - whole month of june it was hold for parts would get phone calls but no emails on the 27th the service techs started to try and come out but they were sent the wrong screen, left my laptop separated on my kitchen table, had to take time off work for them) August 9th ( sent in my computer service depot)August 17th (get my computer back)Everything seemed livable except there was pop sound every time I opened and closed my lid and a hinge was loose, and there was light leaking from under the bezel - I was gonna live with it because I needed it to get some work done --  until the screen popped out, the popping noise apparently was due to the fact that screen wasn?t seated correctly or the lid was bent by the repair depot or the... Hello  I own a LeNovo Y50-70 Touch that I bought in the USA and I came to this forum in the hopes of finding some assistance. The thing is, I'm in Brazil. And my notebook is not working properly ^_^'(It turns on very briefly and then shuts down). I've contacted the Brazilian LeNovo central and they told me they can't help me with this, because it's a model that is not manufactured here. So I went ahead and consulted with a general computer repairs shop. They took my notebook in, analysed it, charged me the services fee and told me they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.(what a waste of money, right?) So I was wondering if there are any other options for me... This is a really expensive piece of hardware that I'd hate to let go :'( I'd be happy to provide more information, if required  Thanks!

Anyone else have a Y50-70 with a unrepairable screen problem?   I've had these strange horizontal lines moving across my screeen, ever since I received the thing.   I've sent it to Lenovo to have it repaired, but both times the issue eventually came back within a few months.   Either Lenovo is using a video/screen part that fails every few months, or they can't diagnose or fix their own products. Either way, I can't turn to them for this. Anyone know any third-party online repair shops that can do quality repairs?

Good day, I hope this is posted in the correct section. A user at work has a Lenovo G50 laptop with the one corner of the case broken. We sent the laptop to Lenovo for a quote on repairs, we felt the quote was too high and the user was not willing to spend that amount of money on a laptop which is 2 years old. Upon receiving the laptop back from Lenovo the case was in a worse condition and the whole screen cover was coming apart. We then sent the laptop back to Lenovo and informed them to, at the very least, return the laptop in the same condition in which it was received - needless to say it was returned in the same, or possibly worse condition. They refuse to take responsibility or assist further. What other options are available, as the support is absolutely terrible? Thank you.

Hello I ordered a laptop with an AMD Radeon R9 M275 about 2 years ago. I used it for heavy gaming, watching youtube videos, etc. I didn't have much problems with it except some of my keyboard keys (ctrl to be exact) just stopped working. Recently, it seems that the graphics card died or just "not respond" which results in a constant repeat of screen flickering in attempt to restart the display adapter. I have attempted to uninstall and install the drivers and it worked... for 2 months. The GPU is now flickering as it was before and I even tried a fresh install of windows, with no success. I decided to request an out of warranty repair, as I have searched it up and there were results of people succeeding. When I create a ticket, it brings me to the home page with "Recommended support options" and my out of warranty laptop. Now, I have two question Can I  request a repair for an out of warranty laptop? if so how? How much would it cost me to get the laptop repaired?

Im using the Virus Protection program through AOL. Every week they do a weekly scan ,and recently it came back that a Trojan Virus was blocked with the option to delete.

Should i also delete the file or just keep it as blocked so that particular Virus will always stay blocked?

My laptop Y70-Touch is on hold in the repair center for a month now! Tech Support in lenovo told me the part will not be restock in the future. And also no phone call from a customer relationship manager for a week. ALL Lenovo does is just sending follow-up to the manager!!  Problem is my school is about to start soon and I need to have a laptop for my homework !!!!

I sent my x230t to depot service center 3 weeks ago. But I didn't get any update for my case. Today, I was waiting 4 hours and talked with lenovo. They said, two part is backorder and can't say estimate date.   The backorder part is keyboard and DC port. this part can purchase ebay or ali express easily. But lenovo doesn't have part. very interesting  I know that if not able to repair or repair, lenovo should send replacement. but agent said "no" After finished the conversation, I read warranty policy and found this. "If the Service Provider determines that it is unable to repair your product, the Service Provider will replace it with one that is at least functionally equivalent. ""If the Service Provider determines that it is unable to either repair or replace your product, your sole remedy under this Limited Warranty is to return the product to your place of purchase or to Lenovo for a refund of your purchase price. "  I like thinpad product and use only thinkpad. but service is very horrible.

I have had a problem with a laptop since it was purchased from Lenovo.  It was purchased in May 2017, and I bought the 3 year additional service warranty. Almost immediately (September 2017), the sound didn't work and the computer ran very slow. We called Lenovo, but because my son was away in college, we were unable to return it for service until June 2018. Lenovo received it June 25, 2018. Since then, their online service history has not been updated. I've called and emailed numerous times, and I am told that the problem has been escalated to a manager who would call me within 3 days. Still no call (and this is the 5th day). My son returns to school shortly and we need a laptop back. Since they were unable to repair it in a timely fashion, at this point, I want a brand new replacement. I am planning on filing complaints with the BBB, NY Dept of State Attorney General's office and the Federal Trade Commission. Service number is 7026892399.

This laptop is about a year old and I rarely use it because it is unreliable.. It freezes up about half the time I try and use it. I have re-installed Windows 10 about 6 times. When it freezes up and I have to shut it off by holding the power button it goes into a "scanning and repairing drive" operation for a couple of hours. I am so close to just throwing this in the trash and buying a Mac. Is it worth trying to repair it?

My lenovo laptop was shut down incorrectly,  upon starting it again i get the preparing automatic repair, a minute later i get the " repairing a disk error. This may take more than an hour to finish".  Its been a full day now and still have the same screen with disk reparation and nothing really happen. Whats the issue here?? Appreciate the help.

My Y-70 gaming laptop's usb port broke. My warranty was expiring in a few weeks so i decided to send it for repair. The chat support person said that i should send it in before my warranty ends and i did so, a week before. After a week i contacted them that nothing had changed in the repaie service tool upon which the tool update saying "the part is not available, we are trying to acquire it". Now a week later, my warranty has ended, the chat and call option is no longer available in the support page. And the reapir tool hasn't given me an update. Now I am regretting sending my laptop in the first place. What is my course of action? How do I contact them now?

Purchased a brand new ThinkPad X1 Carbon (6th Gen) 3 months ago from here. Had to push them to send the laptop to begin with. The laptop itself served its purpose until I had an unfortunate spill accident. The laptop went completely blank and dead instantly. I understand the warranty dosent cover the spill damage, however, the repair center quoted me $700 for the repair. Thats almost enough for me to buy a new laptop. When I asked for an itemized bill to show me how they generate this quote, they simply told me, that's impossible, this is a standard quote to fix my laptop. I asked to buy parts to repair it myself, they quoted me $1500. At this point, I felt like been trolled. I didn't even pay $1500 for the brand new laptop. Is this the quality of Lenovo's repair service? Basically Lenovo is telling me that if you spill damage your 3 mos old laptop, you should just toss it in the trash and buy a new one, too bad for you! First and last time lenovo laptop buyer.  Think twice before you buy a Lenovo laptop.

Hi,I have a user in Madagascar who has a faulty Lenovo X270 laptop. It powers on for a few seconds then immediatly switches off, we have tried everything to fix it, but our IT support team are advising it will need to be repaired by Lenovo as it is still within warranty. The only problem is after I gave my colleagues in Madagascar the address for the Lenovo repair centre that shows on your website, they are advising that the place does not exist anymore... When they looked for it they advised there was a clothes store there instead. Calling the phone number has no response as well.Is there another authorised Lenovo repair centre in Madagascar? Hello forum, I bought a Yoga 900 last year. Unfortunately my girlfriend spilled a coffee over it which broke it.I therefore sent the laptop to the Lenovo/Medio repair centre in Germany before Christmas.I got a quote for the repair, ca. 500 pounds for several boards that needed replacement which I paid for up-front as required.I then never heard back from Lenovo, having to chase them frequently on what is going on. At some point heard that the spare parts weren't available. Never heard anything about potential timing of a repair. Having had to chase this repeatedly (we'll call you back within two working days) for several weeks without anyone ever properly getting back to me I asked the customer support to escalate the issue.Today I heard that they have decided they don't have spare parts, therefore can't repair the laptop and I will get the money for the repair refunded.After 3 months of having the laptop in the repair centre without any feedback!I don't understand how Lenovo can't have spare parts for a laptop that was sold not too long ago and effectively is still being sold..That to me is shocking customer service (they should refund money for keeping the laptop for 3 months if not even offer to replace it by a new device for a certain amount of money etc.).I guess the only option know is to try and fix it myself by buying spare parts, fitting them myself but unfortunately thereby my warranty will be void :-/Does anyone know of a good place to buy spare... I am going through the same thing. I sent it in my idea z500 in november 2016. I am still waiting. Customer sercice with medion and lenovo is the worst i have ever experienced.USELESS. I have requested a call back from the managers more that 10 times since and still waiting. I have written complaint letters call everyother day and all they have said to me up until 3 days ago was that they were waiting for parts, a hardrive.  And 3 days when i called they said it unfixable and thats that. Its.on its way back to me from Germany but unfixed. What a stressful experience, they have wasted my time, they have caused unnecessary stress they have lied .. 'a manager will call you back within 24- 48 hours'. Never again will i buy from Lenovo..... ever ever againnnnn....who sends there repairs to Germany from Uk anywaay???

You'd think that the Contact Us part under the Support section would...I dunno, maybe give me a phone number or email or some form to fill out or some way to contact Lenovo. But I guess since my warrenty is expired, this is my best option (I refuse to pay just to get in contact with this company). So, some months ago the inner hinge where the laptop screen connects to the keyboard/computer part of my laptop broke, causing the screen and hinge to start coming undone. I had to throw some electric tape over it to keep it together for now, but it's getting worse (picture below). I need to get in contact with someone at Lenovo to see if this would be considered a manufacturer's error as it was internal and not broken from misue, or if not then I need a price qoute for repairs and a way to send this in. Someone from Lenovo, please respond via email. Thank you.

I sent my lenovo Yoga in for a repair that was covered under warranty. A row of keys stopped working only a month after purchasing it. I sent the laptop off on december 21st. After the repair depot received the laptop I was told the corner of the casing was bent and the screen is now lifted from the machine. This damage was caused in shipping and I sent the repair rep pictures of my machine prior to shipping. I was only met with comments that my pictures were not taken at the exact same angle as theirs. I wish I would have requested a picture of the box they received my computer in. My case has been escalated but even after contacting the escalation rep and showing them my pictures I have not gotten any response from them in almost a month. I'm an engineering student and its now a month into the semester. Not having my laptop has been making my life at school much more difficult. My only question is that are all of the lenovo employees trained to distrust the customer regardless of the situation? Even the escalation rep tried to tell me that my screen looked scratched when it was obviously my desktop background. I even sent them a copy of that and never received a reply. Could I please get in touch with someone to get this process over with so I can get my laptop back as soon as possible? I would also like to add that you should insure your packages to prevent this from happening to other customers in the future, or atleast give the customer an oppurtunity to pay extra for it... So Friday, I tried to boot my computer and ended up with an automatic repair loop. The screen reads automatic repair, then goes to diagnosis and gets stuck here for hours on end. I have a Lenovo G50-45 and Windows 8. After trying to do a hard reset, unplugging the AC and pressing the power button and it not working, I used the novo button on the side of the computer. I tried to reset BIOS settings to defaults but it did not work. I then created a recovery drive with a USB key using my brother's computer. Again, I used the novo button, and managed to boot from the recovery drive from there. I tried system restore but it gets stuck on system restore initializing for more than thirty minutes. I tried bcdedit and it did not work. I have tried bootrec up until rebuildbcd and when I come to rebuildbcd, it keeps processing for more than twenty minutes without results. I have tried chkdsk but it tells me that Windows is locked. I refuse to do One Key Recovery because it will bring me back to factory settings (yes I know, I did not think of doing a backup). I was told that System Refresh is not a great idea. I am trying to find a way to repair this problem. I have work to do on this computer and I would like it to be resolved.
