Inspiron 7567 which drivers? Dell drivers or Intel/NVIDIA graphics drivers?

Q: Inspiron 7567 which drivers? Dell drivers or Intel/NVIDIA graphics drivers?

This is a long standing question. Which drivers should I use? I have graphical issues with the current Drivers from Dell.
Any ideas what are the advantages of Dell's drivers over the ones from Intel/NVIDIA web site and do the even work? What will I lose if I use the latter?

Preferred Solution: Inspiron 7567 which drivers? Dell drivers or Intel/NVIDIA graphics drivers?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Inspiron 7567 which drivers? Dell drivers or Intel/NVIDIA graphics drivers?

Dell drivers are Intel/Nvidia drivers that are customized for your exact model and should be used. They are available at Dell Support if you have to reinstall.

Hi all,
I'm really interested in buying a Inspiron 7567 here in the UK but I've a couple of questions I can't seem to get answers to, maybe the community can help?
1.  Does anyone know if or when the option to upgrade to a FHD IPS screen might be available in the UK?  It's currently an option on the US site but I can't seem to get an answer here in the UK.  Going by the reviews I don't think I'd settle for the TN screen if I'm forking out nearly £1000, and the UHD screen is too costly, and the 1050 ti isn't quite powerful enough, to do that resolution justice, particularly going forward.  I'll happily play at 60fps in FHD rather than 30 fps on UHD, but only if I can get an IPS screen.
2.  It seems from this forum that you need to use the Dell modified nVidia drivers, you can't use the ones from nVidia direct as these can lead to BSODs.  Does anyone have an idea how long Dell will continue to support driver updates in the future?  I know I can't expect cutting edge performance 3-4 years in the future (my acceptable working life given the cost), but some games block loading or really complain about out of date drivers and I'd hate to be stuck when Dell gives up updating drivers for the 7567 in say two years and I can't get them from nVidia.  Anyone know how likely this is to happen?
Cheers folks, hope someone can help!

Link to recording of the glitch:
I only have a couple of games installed on my computer and The Long Dark seems to be drawing this effect the most (if it's occurring on other games I'm not noticing it). At this point I'm uncertain if the glitch is an effect caused by an issue with the GPU, the drivers, the game itself, or something else. I'm also posting this video on Hinterland's forum to see if they have any feedback. Anyone else with this laptop model experiencing this sort of glitch? This may sound a stupid question but can these two clash??

After a fresh reinstall windows installed the Intel graphics accelerators then i installed my nvidia drivers for my Gforce 9400gt(not the best)
my monitor kept turning off on its own

Ive run dozens of tests and everything is reported as working properly
i uninstalled the intel drivers but the igfxsvc module was stilll running
even when i ended the process it would run again and it didnt appear in services
this is part of Intel and nothing to do with my nvidia drivers

I was wondering if a clash may of been causing the issue??

My Dell XPS L502x is 14 months old (i7, 8GB, 689GB HDD, HM77, Nvidia 540M GT). I have installed all latest drivers for my laptop from Dell website. But those are still more than 6 months old. When I use Intel Driver update utility, it shows new version of drivers available. Even my nvidia control panel shows new driver available.
Is it Okay to update drivers from intel and nvidia website and replace drivers from Dell. I heard that Dell mods the drivers for thier laptops before supplying to thier users.

A:Should I update my stock Dell Drivers to Intel Drivers.

S"hould you", that is up to you, but the Intel drivers are the best for your computer. If you decide to change your drivers, start with a system restore point.
If you are not having specific problems, you probably will not notice any improvement however.

I use Toshiba M645 Laptop that has two graphic cards
with NVIDIA Optimus Technology. (Auto-swicthing graphics processors)
Now I have some vga problems and driver questions below:

1. Intel HD Graphics <-Why can't install driver from Intel official website?, driver not supports!
, but the driver in Toshiba website can be installed fine as well.
What's wrong with that? Was it mean "Intel HD Graphics" has more than one type, several of model classes?
or it must related to the chipset of Toshiba laptop's mainboard?

2. NVIDIA Geforce GT330M <-How to use only this vga stand alone?, I tried to disable Intel HD Graphics from device manager
and then the monitor was not in use, black screen was displayed.
So, I tried to disable Intel HD Graphics in safe mode, no black screen
, but the next normal boot it was displayed like GT330M was not in use
(can't config NVIDIA tools, it was disappeared from control panel), but it was still enabled in device manager.

Now, I just updated Intel HD Graphics driver, a mouse lag in Aero themes taskbar effect was fixed,
also the video framerate fault was fixed too.

Hope someone can give the solutions, how to fix these problems.
Thanks in advance.

A:Intel HD Graphics + NVIDIA Geforce [Drivers & Usage problems]

1. Main reason the Intel reference driver won't work is it hasn't been modified to work with the second card (applies to laptops with either Nvidia or AMD for the second card). Same applies to the Nvidia driver, it requires the Intel driver to be installed before it can be installed.

2. From what I have seen the Nvidia card (or AMD if so equipped) can be made to run all the time only when the laptop is plugged in and you change the power settings to high performance. If that doesn't get it working all the time here may be another setting that needs to be changed. If that is the case going to have to wait on someone with a similar setup for more info.

I am having some issues with the above laptop, they have the usual integrated Intel GPU and also a dedicated NVidia 840M GPU. After the laptops have been configured (Windows 7) and I install the NVidia drivers everything works fine for the first few reboots but then whenever I try to log into a user account I just get stuck at "welcome".
I have isolated the cause of this to be the Nvidia drivers as if they are not present on the system no error occurs. This is quite a big problem for us as the laptops were bought for users with high spec needs within an education environment.
I have tried the drivers supplied with the laptop (372.54) and the latest ones from Nvidia (372.70).
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

A:Dell Inspiron 15 3542 stuck on welcome screen, NVidia drivers.

I would suggest you to update the BIOS, uninstall and reinstall the video card driver from Dell website as these drivers are tested on the Dell system. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the video card.

Press the Windows key and Start typing devmgmt.msc and then press enter.
Select the Display adapters listed and right click on it.
Now select properties.
In the properties window, under Driver tab, click on Uninstall button.
Check “Delete the driver software for this device.”
You want to delete the driver click OK.

After the uninstall finishes restart the system. Then reinstall the Intel video card driver first and then Nvidia card driver on the system for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the BIOS from BIOS section and then video card drivers from Video section onto the system and install it.
Please let me know if this helps.

At the Dell Drivers Downloads page for your computer is an option that reads:
Enter your Service Tag or Express Service Code to view your original configuration. Or detect your product to view both configurations.
Once you add your tag or choose to analyze your computer you will be presented with the hardware information for your computer. You can then install the correct drivers.

I have been working on a Dell Inspiron 531S and am unable to get the video, and now audio, drivers loaded and working correctly. Here?s the deal:

According to the Dell tag# info online, this cpu uses either the onboard Nvidia nforce 6150SE n430 video card or an ATI 1300 Pro. There is no external video card so the Nvidia should be right. This is confirmed by programs like HWinfo32. However, someone did install ATI catalyst software at some earlier point.

At first, only the video card driver was not loaded properly and so Vista (Home Premium 32-bit) was in VGA-compatible mode. I tried to load NVIDIA Nforce 258.96 WHQL drivers for Vista 32-bit, which completed without errors. Upon rebooting, though, I could see in Device Manager that the drivers didn?t take. I have also tried Dell?s recommended R166208 (an executable that loads Nvidia?s MCP61 ver.A01 drivers) and no matter what I do, Device Manager says I now have an ?unknown device? or a VGA-compatible display adapter. Unloading and reinstalling did not help. I noticed SP2 was not loaded so tried installing it to see if that would help. It loaded no problem, but then I saw (as another update) a Realtek audio driver update. I let it load and now have no audio.

I have tried both Dell?s recommended Realtek driver (R180772, which is for the ALC888 HD audio device and loads Realtek?s R1.85 audio drivers) and a newer R2.51 version for Vista that I got from Realtek?s site. Both install ... Read more

I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 i3-3227U 1.90 GHz Win 8 64bit, with Video Cards as recognized:

b. AMD Radeon HD 7670M
Driver Version 8.982.6.0, 8-1-2012.
Suddenly, yesterday both cards indicate problem in Device Manager. Catalyst Control Center doesn't work at all, and Intel Graphic Control Center has disappeared. Video Cards are recognized in system info through Dell Support Assist, but I can't run tests on them (the button disappeared) as I used before.I ran system scan through Dell Support Assist (both default and stress) but showed no problem.
Through Dell Support (according to laptop's service tag) I downloaded and installed both recommended graphic drivers for my laptop (AMD Radeon HD 7670M version 8.982.6.0 ,A01, and AMD Radeon HD 8730M version ,A03) with no result. I also found and installed the proper graphic drivers from AMD and Intel for my laptop (based on my video cards, cpu and OS) but no result also. Laptop warranty has expired.
Any suggestions to solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

A:Problem with Graphics and Video Card Drivers in Dell Inspiron 3521

You should not install Intel or AMD's drivers since the Dell drivers are customized for your exact model. Reinstall the original Dell drivers from Dell Downloads and Drivers. Run the Dell Diagnostics by tapping F12 as soon as you reboot to get to the Boot Menu. See if there is a problem with the hardware. The catalyst control center is for desktop computers with discrete cards. It is not a driver- it's software. Your AMD card is not a discrete card. It is a supplemental card that kicks in when more power is needed.

Laptops rarely--if ever--need driver updates like desktops. If there is an update it must come from Dell.

hi, can somebody tell me that drivers for AGP cards with ref to nvidia available on nvidia's own website are better to use or ones available on 3rd party websites are betters. Hi, I need help with crashing due to kernel drivers. This problem started on Windows 8, and I upgraded to Windows 10, and is still crashing. I have done many things to attempt to fix this problem, such as using DDR to uninstall drivers, rolling back old drivers etc., and none of this has worked. Hello. I have a MSI NF750-G55 motherboard which came with Nvidia sound drivers. Windows update even provided an update for the nvidia drivers once I connected to the internet.

However, I also know that there are Realtek sound drivers. Will my system be more stable if I just install the nvidia drivers or should I install the realtek HD drivers too? Or would having 2 sound drivers cause freezes?

I appreciate any advice. So far all my sound works great so that isn't an issue, and I don't really care about having the realtek audio manager.

A:Nvidia sound drivers, realtek drivers, or both?

Basically, if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

The sound is a Realtek chip on the motherboard, thus the Realtek would be the first choice, but if other supplied drivers work and you have all functions there is no need for additional drivers. The Microsoft drivers are actually Realtek drivers (but Microsoft can be several versions behind due to their validation process).

It is serious. You never use any driver unless it comes from Dell. They customize drivers for laptops and any updates must come from Dell. Laptops rarely need driver or bios updates. Sign up to be notify if Dell ever has any updates.

I tried to install [email protected] on a few Toshiba laptops, but it needs a newer Catalyst driver than the latest available on Toshiba's website (their drivers not being updated since March). This page said that "Some OEM and some laptop vendors modify the Catalyst drivers that ship with their cards" and recommends just downloading from ATI's site. Is there any technical disadvantage or pitfall in doing that if the driver's custom? I'm guessing it would be unsupported by Toshiba, at least.

A:OEM-provided drivers versus vanilla graphics drivers?

Be sure to read the release notes for the driver and make certain that it supports your model. If not, look in the archives and find an older one.

Usually, the standard ATI driver will work on an OEM machine. It's not unusual for the manufacturer's site to post only the driver they shipped with the machine. But you can always roll back if it does not work as desired (an option in Device Manager).

I am looking to sort out my graphics drivers for my new computer and just want to make sure I get it right and so avoid any kind of nightmare, I am sure some of you will be able to point me in the right direction....

I have a GTS250 card installed on my PC running windows 7 64 bit. It is currently using the standard windows drivers would have automatically installed when the computer was put together. I would like to change these to the proper Nvidia drivers so I can have the control panel and more control etc.

This is what I think I need to do:
1. Download correct Nvidia drivers and save somewhere
2. Uninstall the GTS250 device in device manager with remove the software option
3. Boot in safe-mode and run a driver cleaner thingy (which one is free and best??)
4. Restart and run the Nvidia install program

Is this correct? Is it necessary to use a driver sweeper? I have read that the generic driver can just be installed over but I am not sure about this. Is it the uninstall option that I need to use? I have also read that windows will automatically re-install the generic driver from a ?store?, how can I stop this happening?

Sorry for all the questions! I have only ever done this sort of thing once before (integrated graphics to a proper card on my old PC) and your help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

P.S If this has been covered before, I apologise! Please link me to it!

A:Installing Nvidia graphics drivers

I am also running Win 7 64 bit.

I created a folder - NVIDIA - under Program files and installed the drivers to that folder. When a new driver version comes out, I empty the folder and install the newer version to it.

(D/L from NVIDIA to Download folder, right click on file and Run As Administrator)

(Just got through doing it this morning, as a matter of fact.)

I'd delete the current drivers from Control Panel - Programs and Features, if in fact they show up there.

I've never used a driver sweeper.

How do you like the card, I was looking at one on Newegg today. I believe it has an HDMI output.

I could only upload the info for the most recent one, because before that I had my pagefile disabled.

edit: Also, ever since the bsod related to video encoding, I monitor my CPU temps with RealTemp and keep my laptop propped up with a fan underneath.

A:BSODs from Intel graphics drivers

Most laptop video (currently) has dual video cards.
As such, it requires that the OEM carefully match and customize the drivers for each card and the drivers for making them work nicely together.

Using the stock Intel drivers may not be the best solution here. On my Samsung 780 series laptop I have graphics issues when using the Intel-provided graphics drivers and the AMD provided graphics drivers (and have seen the same on systems with nVidia graphics). Cleaning these drivers off and installing the Samsung provided drivers fixes these problems for me - I would suggest the same for you.

There is only 1 memory dump in the uploaded reports. If you're using a disk cleaning program, please stop while we're troubleshooting.

Only 51 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available.

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed... Read more

My laptop has Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) on a partition and I am having trouble finding drivers for my graphics card, which is an Intel HD Graphics 4000 model. I have tried my manufacturer's website, Intel's drivers, and all of them don't work. They end up with an error like 'This operating system is not supported.' Also, when I contact support, all they say is to upgrade to Windows 7. When I did get a driver to install, it messed up my screen, so I had to revert to the VGA Graphics Adapter again. If someone could help me find some drivers that were made for Vista or were for Windows 7 but were released quite a long time ago, that would be awesome.

igdkmd32.sysis is a file of the INTEL GRAPHICS MEDIA ACCELERATOR 3600 SERIES, , driver on my laptop.

On the Acer laptop driver support site there a two VGA updates available , and

I've never updated drivers before so hoping for some guidance as no forum has been able to help me as yet and seing as my warranty has expired Acer is not much help.

eg,which one should i choose, do i need to delete the old one before installing the new, and what is the procedure for updating ?

I've asked on other forums but as yet i've found no guidance, so any help much appreciated.

A:Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers

removing the old drivers prior to doing an update is of course the best way to go, though isn't required but problems could occur installing over the top of old drivers.

hope doing the update will resolve the issue.

I am trying to update the graphics drivers for my laptop using the intel driver update utility to fix a problem with a game that I am playing (Overwatch). However when I try to use the facility it says that I have to use drivers that are from HP. How do I obtain these HP drivers or how can I use the drivers directly from Intel?

Are we forced to only use dells nvidia drivers?  Thought these days we could use the official nvidia drivers in gaming notebook gpus. The latest 385.69 drivers cannot detect the 1060 maxq gpu. I even tried going back a few previous versions with the same result. I know I could use the nvidia drivers with ASUS and MSI notebook gpus.

So, i as using windows 8 Rtm. I had installed the windows 7 drivers for my Sony Vaio VGN-AR730e, which has an Nvidia GeForce 8400m Gt graphics card. Everything was fine for a few days, and then it shut off. When I turned it back on, the opening splash screen before windows (i'm aware bios isn't viewable anymore, shame...) had green lines going halfway through the screen, and every screen that has the blinking cursor at the top left also has a lot of apostrophes all over the screen.

I tried getting the 302.80 nvidia graphics card and it says it won't work, as well. I can't install any other operating system other than windows 8, nothing else will load. What did windows do to my computer?

Hi,  I am in the process of re-installing 64bit win7 on my dv6-2173cl.  I see HP has two drivers for the my model:1) Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Driver2) NVIDIA GeForce Video/Graphics Driver I have NVIDIA graphics card in this laptop.  I installed NVIDIA driver.   Question: - Do I need to install  Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Driver as well? - Is the  Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Driver for the integrated graphics card for some select dv6-2173cl variants and therefore does not apply to meOR  - Does this driver improve the graphics performance of the Intel chip itself (whatever that could be) and hence I DO need to install it?   I looked at the description, but HP does not state very explicitly the cases when to install this driver.   Any ideas? Thanks,

A:How many drivers for NVidia Graphics Card - HP dv6-2173cl

Hi: HP puts all of the available drivers for the entire model series on each specific model's support page. So you do not need to, and should not install the Intel graphics adapter. That would be for dv6-21xx notebooks that come with the onboard Intel HD graphics adapter.
