Preferred Solution: hotmail bounce back emails

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Is it possible to block a certain email address but bounce back the message so that they are aware that the email was undeliverable?

I need to know urgently as I am being harassed.

A:How to bounce back emails on hotmail

You can block the sender's email address:

http://techtips.salon.com/block-someone-hotmail-10182.html

However, he can simply create a new one and continue.

Or, you can allow only contacts and safe senders to your Hotmail inbox:

http://www.freeemailtutorials.com/windowsLiveHotmail/configureHotmailSettingsOptions/block-all-emails-from-everyone-except-hotmail-contacts.php

The surest method is to change your email address though.

I am having a problem with Windows Mail (Comcast). Emails with several photos attached bounce back to the sender. I am able to receive email with 5 photos attached from an AOL account, but when someone with a Yahoo acccount tries to send the same, it bounces back to them, and I have no idea the attempt was even made, unless they email me without the photos and tell me. (A while ago, I had the same problem with another AOL sender as well.) Is there a setting I can change?

A:Emails to me with photos bounce back to sender

Apparently they are rejected by the server. I can think of two reasons, they are being picked up as spam or they are too large. You may want to read the Terms of Service (TOS) on the website of your ISP.

What I am about to ask help on is all second hand information. I have zero examples of this and have no idea where to look.

Client is using Office365 setup by their previous IT company.
The previous company asked the client to notify us (being me and others) to remove them off the list so when the "client" gets bounce back emails the previous IT company no longer gets emails about it.

Where in the portal would that be? I am poking around and have no idea where to look for such a request nor was ever aware of it.

A:Office365 - Bounce Back Emails - Notifications

Can I just double check what you mean here.

When the user gets a bounce back message the old IT company would also get an e-mail saying the user had received a bounce back?

If I am correct then it would be something I personally would do via the users mail client, might be worth checking there. As for the O365 portal I am unsure of any parts in there other than OWA.

Since Microsoft Mail doesn't seem to sync correctly, Outlook.com doesn't seem to support pop accounts ( and I was getting some "TLS API error" ), I logged in to the pop server with telnet:

telnet pop.secureserver.net PORT

Which means 0 messages, 0 bytes, as I understand.

I use a gmail account to send an email to this pop account and it bounces back:
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I use a MacBook, iPad and iPhone, and have an AOL email address. Suddenly, emails from friends who have hotmail email addresses are bouncing back. I have talked to AOL, Apple, and my internet provider (AT and T) who all say the problem is with Hotmail. When I try to reach tech support, I get the runaround from people in India who want to charge me $50 to unblock hotmail addresses. I am beyond frustrated. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hi,

I got the following similar bounce message from a couple of friends using Hotmail:
"qmail 26165 invoked from network", and
"qmail 19001 invoked from network".

What do they actually mean?

Thanks!
Regards,

Edwin

A:Hotmail Bounce

Qmail is a mail server that people connect to in order to send email.

The invoked by network means that a computer connected to it and sent the email rather than the email being sent locally. The number before hand I believe is the user id that is assigned with the connection.

I can send an email successfully from my hotmail account to my friend's email account. My friend can reply back to that email and I receive the replied email fine.

However, if my friend creates a new email to send to my hotmail account, it bounces back to my friend's email and it never gets sent to my hotmail account.

I have checked my hotmail SAFE SENDERS list - my friend's email address and domain are listed. I have checked the BLOCKED list and my friend's email address and domain are NOT listed.

Can you help us figure out why my friend receives a bounced email when sending to my hotmail account?

A:Hotmail bounce

Hi scubagirl74, and welcome to TSG.

Have your friend double check the address they are using to send the new e-mails against the address that is used when they reply to your e-mail. One little typo, can prevent the e-mail from getting though. Some typos, like using a lower case "L" in place of an upper case "I" or vice-versa may not be obvious.

This morning emails I am sending to hotmail accounts I use every day are being bounced back with the message :"550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems." There is nothing different from usual about the eemails I am sending. What is going on please?

A:Windows Live Hotmail suddenly bouncing back emails

Hi Aroominyork, it is possible the mail server you use for sending mail has been added to a black list which is now causing you issues.

You need to find the IP of your SMTP server (which you can find probably in the returned emails), if not then copy and paste the contents of one of the returned emails here and we should be able to find it.

When you have the IP, try typing it in here and see what results you get.

Can anyone recommend a good email bouncing program? I know it's not a good idea to bounce SPAM back to its originator since this can validate your email address for them. I just want to bounce some emails back to certain "friends". I have tried Bounce Buddy 1.0, but it doesn't seem to work too well on my Win 7 64-bit system. And I can't seem to get CoffeeCup SPAM Blocker to work right either. I mainly use Eudora 7 and Thunderbird for my emails, and have tried "Redirect" add-ons for Thunderbird, but they won't work with the version of Thunderbird that I am using.

Any suggestions? Any and all help appreciated...

Thanks!

In the Safety options for WinLiveMail, under Blocked Senders list, there is an option to tick which says:

"When I click delete and block" ... "Bounce the blocked messages back to the sender."

I have a heap of blocked senders in the list, but how do you click "Delete and block". There is no such command in the options. Am I missing something?

I put one of my own email addresses in the blocked senders list with the above option ticked. However when I sent an email from this account to my normal working email address it was not blocked nor bounced, or even sent to junk email.

A:How to bounce emails in WinLiveMail

Hi poppa bear,
If you read mail in HTML instead of Plain Text, messages from unknown senders can appear in the preview pane without being sent to the Junk Mail folder. It should then give 2 options, Delete and Block or Show Images. I always read in Plain Text.

Read in Plain Text temp. disabled to show you.

A:Windows Live Mail - how to bounce emails

You can add the sender to your blocked sender list (right click on the sender's address - add to blocked sender

or you can create a rule
Select one or more conditions:
| | Where the from line contains people

Select one or more options
| | Do not download it from the server
| | Delete from Server

Neither of these sends anything back to the sender. why would you want to do that anyway?

OK, I have a question, in case anyone has come across this.

I have one user that insists on using AOL for her email, but for about a month now, she can't send email to 2 different domains. She is getting the following bounce back message:

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 451 Temporary local problem - please try later

The 2 domains in question insist that her email is not even hitting the firewall, so it is going nowhere near them.

Here is the kicker: it works if she uses her phone or online, but if she is using AOL Desktop, it does not work. (yes, she still wants to use AOL Desktop for some unGodly reason!)

It gets worse: if I use AOL Desktop with my AOL account (that I made up for this reason only), it works. But if I use the same AOL Desktop on my same PC with her email, it gives the bounce back!

AOL is looking into it still, but is saying the issue must be with the other domains. To me, it seems like there is an issue with her user at AOL.

Has anyone seen anything like this? I don't really expect a solution, just asking and passing on info.

Ed

It could be a e-mail server is down somewhere in the mix. Or perhaps your friends have filters that reject your mail as spam.

I have a laptop (Compaq Evo N620c) that was working fine. Then one day it wouldn't respond at all when pressing the on switch. It does nothing at all. No screen on. No booting. It appears that it's getting no power, although the battery is fully charged and the power cable is in. I've tried swapping the power cable from another machine. It doesn't respond what so ever.

I've taken it to bits to see if there are any obvious problems (something popped out, disconnections etc) but still no use.

I should point out that it dropped from my desk into a box and I suspect that might have had something to do with it .

Anyone got any clues so I can diagnose the problem.

(It's a good little machine and would be a shame to throw it out. But on the other hand giving it to a repairer would probably cost more than getting another second hand machine)

Cheers for any advice.

ALJ

A:The laptop that didn't bounce back

The motherboard has probably had it's power plug damaged or the motherboard has been slightly cracked meaning the power can't get from the battery to the CPU, RAM, Graphics etc.

You can't boot from a USB.
I can clone to a HDD in my USB enclosure .. Then if I have a crash or corruption ..
I can just physically swap the drives.

I also use Acronis True Image to make Image Data files in my external .. that can be used to recover the HDD in my computer.
I think this is doing about the same as Bounce Back.

So I just set up my first IMAP account after being stuck with POP for a long time.

I use Windows Live Mail and had tons of folders and message rules which I'm now trying to replicate for IMAP. I had to decide between local email rules or server based rules/filters. I went with the latter so it would be all done at the source.

I set up a new filter to put anything from my hotmail email into a folder called 'Test'. Pretty simple.

But upon sending the test email from hotmail to my new IMAP account, it bounces back with the following error:

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:  "info+Test"@ (insert my IMAP account domain here)    (generated from [email protected](insert my IMAP account domain here))    No Such User Here

So it's just butchering the email address it seems. Weird. Any thoughts on this? I've been back and forth with the host admins and they've been pretty useless.

A:New IMAP account - email filters causing messages to bounce back

You'd have to post the actual filter you're using.   I have never seen an IMAP filter result in an "alternate e-mail address" such as "info+Test."

It should simply be set up such that upon receipt if the sender is {insert your hotmail address here} or if your sender contains "hotmail.com" [if you want to cast a broad net] then move the message to the Test folder.

Screen shots of the filter rule set up as you create it at each step of the dialog, with the personal bits redacted, of course, would be most helpful as a starting point.

Hi everyone

Now none of my emails from my Inbox are in my hotmail account when I use my web login. Why did it do this and how do I reverse it? I tried to find some answers on the Microsoft site but they give pretty generic answers there. The answers I've got here in the past were much better.

My wife has a Hotmail account. Occassionally and seemingly randomly, emails that she sends to my email (a corporate email) are not getting through. Some of the time, she gets a bounce back reply message. Sometimes she doesn't. When she gets it, all it says is:

"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipients failed."

She says my email address is the only one that bounces back to her. I had my IT guy check on it from our end, and when he looks in the system he sees:

"Diagnostics-Code: smtp; 503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local email address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server".

My IT guy said the forums he checked out showed hundreds of Hotmail users having similar problems, but he didn't tell me anything about the possible solution (yet).

Any ideas????????

I have a lot of unread in my original account but presume they are lost for ever! Can anyone help me please??

A:Outlook Hotmail emails

What you could try if using IE is click tools/internet options/advanced/reset. If asked to reset personal setting click no.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. Without any action taken on my part, emails were sent to everyone in my hotmail contact list. The emails that were generated said:

Hello,
Just finish my christmas shopping.
Here is a great suggestion for you www.bggstore.com.
Please take just a couple minutes to visit this shopping mall
covering all of the 2010 fashion styles!
Best regards

Do I have a virus? A friend suggested I had been infected with malware. I ran a full system scan with Spyware doctor and nothing at all was detected.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!

A:Emails were sent to all my hotmail contacts

Go to TrendMicro (http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/) and install HiJackThis. Run a scan and post the log here and people should be able to help.I'm having the exact same problem, I'll let you know if I find anything out. =)

Every time I try to send an email with my hotmail account, I'm asked to download latest version of Microsoft Silverlight. After I download it and try to send email, I get error message: "Windows live hotmail was not able to complete this request. Microsoft may contact you about any issues you report." How can I fix this problem? Thanks.

It's been 2 days now that I can't access my hotmail emails. I can log in without any problem, but when I click on the emails, nothing happens, and I get a message saying that there's something wrong with this page. Meanwhile I have some important emails that I need to open ASAP. Another thing is that the same thing happens when I try to click on the "help" link in hotmail - nothing happens. So I'm not even able to contact hotmail about my problem.

In addition, lately, when I have sent emails, I recieve a message saying that the delivery of the email is being delayed...... What's going on? Appreciate your help. Thanks.

I like to keep a copy of all emails I send, but with Hotmail that means remembering to tick the box at the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to set Hotmail to automatically save a copy of ALL sent emails?

A:Saving Sent emails in Hotmail

According to Hotmail, there is no other setting:

To keep track of messages you send, you can place copies in the Sent Messages folder.

1. Go to the Mail page.
2. Click New, and then write your message.
3. Select Copy Message to Sent Messages Folder below the message area, and then click Send.

<NOTE: This is from their HELP area>

I did think at one time there was an option, but I guess that is not the case (as far as I know).

I can log on to my hotmail, but I can't open my emails. When I click on them, the page doesn't load. I tried to reinstall java, but it doesn't work. Can anyone help me?

A:I can't open my emails @ hotmail.com

What browser are you using to check your hotmail?

Try optimizing your browser like deleting the cookies, temp files, history and restore the default settings. If still not working try using other browser like firefox.
