Preferred Solution: My computer can run games good but others not.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So ive been gaming for a long time but now this is really starting to bug me, Fortnite i have to run at the lowest settings on everything and it runs perfectly but then looks horrible, csgo was the same and if anyone threw a smoke my fps would drop to 2-10, I just installed dying light and i have put it on the lowest settings possible but it is virtually unplayable, If there are settings i can change or programs to download to fix this i would really appreciate some help ive researched but none of the things seem to change anything.
My specs are attached.

am wondering, is this system good enough for running games at at least med settings? here are the specs

amd anthlon 64 3500 64 bit cpu
512 ram
250 gb hard drive
intergrated ATI Radeon express 200 video card

well, dunno what else to write, i know the card is intergrated, but it managed to run age of empires 3 demo in med/low settings with a pretty good frame rate, and it didnt not slow down or over heat in big battles. it aint the best graphics card there is but it is above average compared to other intergrated chipsets, it aint the best but its not bad. so could run games like call of duty, or rome total war on this computer, i might upgrade video card after, but not now.

A:Is this computer good enoughfor running games?

well, i never said to max them out, just to run them decently enough... for now. also i just donwloaded the rome total war demo and the game runs really smooth, like minor lag once and there, but am not sure why the graphic detail aint that great, like the horses and all that look good. the problem is with the foot units, except officers. foot units semm to have their feet all pointy and stuff, it aint that detailed, yet the game runs really smooth, why is this? is there any drivers for my intergrated video card? anyone know my problem?

A:help trying to build a good computer that will handle games

The graphics card will not work with the motherboard you chose. You're looking for a PCIe graphics card. This is the PCIe version of the card.

I think its a reasonable choice for its price range.

As for your processor, it'll work with that motherboard as well, but Id recommend one of the core2Duos, maybe those new E2140 chips. This should perform much much better.

Hi all, im currently running-

2.7 Intel processor
1Gb DDR Samsung
80gig Maxtor HD
256mb ATI Radeon 9600xt
My problem is whenever I try to load up a Program which requires Hardware acceleration, such as Battlefield 2 or GTA:SA, my computer completely locks up and I have to pull the plug to get back on it. It only started happening this morning and it was working perfect last night. It isn't a cooling issue as when i read it might be that, i took fans from my old computers, and added them to mine. I've tried reinstalling, installing, rolling back and updating drivers, but to no avail.

My computer even locks up when my OpenGL screensaver opens

Also, ingame etc. The screen would go weird and it would be small segments of the game image all over the monitor and it would appear pixelated, also, the last 1/2 second-2seconds of sound will play over and over.

1 thing i did notice, was that earlier today, i got a blank blue screen while playing battlefield, restarted and all worked fine for about 5 minutes until I noticed problems

Please help me if you can guys.

Cheers

p.s hope i gave you enough details to help you

A:Computer LockUp when playing good games

I'm pretty sure you have overheated your graphics card, have you overclocked it?

Cuz if you did that's why, and I'd suggest lowering it back to normal, but if you didn't than you just put too much stress on it from BF2

That's what I think

Try downloading the newest drivers from ATI

My computer has recently been stalling in the games I play, Counterstrike, counterstrike source. Every couple minutes the game lags and my loss jumps to 20. A few secs later it is back to normal. This is usually accompanied by my cpu fan turning faster or slower. i've tried setting my fan at a constant 50 percent but it is still happening. I've tried defragging my hard drive and using driver cleaner/ reinstalling video card drivers and cpu drivers to no avail. I've also tried playing offline but I encounter the same problem minus the loss.

Here are my general specs:
3800 x2 athlon with dual core optimizer
radeon x1950 pro 256 mb
500 power supply
1 gig ram
160 gig hd
Kinda ****** mobo
Windows xp media edition

The problem started happening ever since I upgraded from a geforce 7600 to x1950 pro video card. I also had to change my power supply from 350 watt to 500 watt. Could it be my video card (all new drivers) or a bad power supply that is causing the lag? I don't know, any suggestions will be appreciated.

So yesterday I was at my mates house and booted up Skyrim on his PC. His settings were at ultra ands he ran the game PERFECTLY. My specs are the same except he has the Radeon HD 6970 2GB. When I play it on my pc, however, I can run it only on low/medium with that same preformance. The same is true with plenty of other games (Battlefield 3, Mass effect 3, etc..). I have updated every driver I could, I have used 2 antiviruses which came up with nothing, I have stopped any background programs but still no luck. Any help? Thank you in advance

A:Computer with good specs running slow during games

That one difference could be a very important one. Your PSU may not have enough amperage on its' +12 volt rail. Find out ow many amps your graphics card consumes verses how many your PSU supplies. If there isn't enough amperage supplied, you'll have to purchase a new graphics card and be careful on choosing one that needs less amps. Of course, you could always upgrade your PSU to one with pushing more amps or one with double or triple +12 volt rails.

Hello,
I am new to the forum, but not new to computing. I recently started having problems with this Vista Home Premium box not being able to resolve DNS names for only computers on my home network (all others XP boxes or Windows Server 2003). It can ping the IP addresses of the local boxes. It doesn't have a problem connecting to the internet. But this is a big problem when it comes to sharing files within my local network.

I have disabled Windows Firewall and McAfee Firewall and Services to try and diagnose the problem.

I have been googling this for a couple of days looking for ideas, but I have none. I have validated that DNS is running. NETBios over DHCP is enabled. Subnet mask is 255.255.255. DHCP and DNS server IP is correct.

Anything that anyone could point me to try? I am out of ideas.

A:Ping on Workgroup Computer Names Bad / IP Addresses Good / Internet Good

Unless you've got a DNS server running at home, it's rather unlikely that DNS is being used to resolve names of your home computers when pinging by name. Instead, the machine does a broadcast (on the local segment) to the effect of "if you're called XYZ, please get back to me and tell me your IP address".

If that's not working for you, my first inclination would be to suspect firewalls on the other machines - not necessarily on the machine exhibiting symptoms. Try disabling and even uninstalling (3rd-party) firewalls while you're troubleshooting, and also test what happens when all machines are booted to [safe mode + net].

Okay I had windows 98 on my pentium 3 450 system with 128 MB of RAM and a Gladiac Geforce2. The DVD's would get choppy on high action scenes such as the dojo scene in the Matrix. So, I put Windows 95 on it because I figured 98 was taking up too many resources. Sure enough, my DVD's are silky smooth now. BUT, I've discovered that my games have significantly decreased in performance! I have a big drop in framerates and 3D Mark 2000 points! WTF??? Is there anything I could do to alleviate this problem short of a hardware upgrade? Or do I have to go back to my choppy DVD's again to enjoy my games?

A:Bad for DVD, good for games?

If you have the hard drive space, you could put both 95 and 98 on it... that way you can watch your DVDs by booting to 95 and then play games by booting to 98. Have a look at www.systemcommander.com

There is little to no performance difference between different graphics settings. The poor performance isn't just noticeable in games, but also in normal use of the computer. Stuff like: selecting icons on the desktop, the blue rectangle that resizes is really laggy; dragging windows around my monitors; watching videos on YouTube from Chrome (especially putting in fullscreen and watching in 1080p+). The only time I get good performance is whenever the computer feels like it. There is no reason that I have found for when this happens.

Although a boot disk is a handy thing for when a system completely screws up, my main interest is to be able to reach good old-fashioned MS-DOS from a computer set up with Windows XP.
The main reason is because I sometimes long for the old computer games that relied heavily on DOS-based conditions and won't otherwise work in a modern OS. Win 2000 and XP both seem to have completely killed DOS.

When I tried out a DOS 5 boot disk the other day, it worked alright and I was in DOS, but the thing would not acknowledge the hard disc C. How do I use this thing to install and play old DOS games?

So, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to spend my saved up cash and bought a new computer. But during the time of spending time with my new computer, my PS3 has been neglected love And I think it deserves some new games! I have already purchased a couple of games: Skyrim (Had it, but left it at my nans, never to be seen again) and La Noire. They should be arriving this Saturday or Sunday, so until then, does any one have any brilliant other games that I could buy??? (There is no spend limit with me!) However, upon booting up the game and waiting a good 4 minutes for the laggy opening cutscene to finish, I found that the game ran at about 3-5 frames per second... Even upon turning down the graphics to the bare minimum, It was still about 3-5 fps.

My PC Spec is as follows:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor, Quad core, 3.0 GHz
8GB DD3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5400 Series

What I was wondering is are there any cheap good quality disks in Australia.

I know of Princo and Sony but sopme fo there disks are too expensive and itll proibably be better to justget my laser cleaned every two years paying 67$ rather then getting 80$ disks every 6 months.

A:Is will a top end AMD processor be good enough to stream games in HD?

To me it sounds fine, i have a high end AMD processor too. I played some LoL and SC2 on xsplit. The computer could handle it just fine. But remember that having a good graphics card is also important when you are streaming.
But it should take most of the CPU, so cooling is a very important factor.
You should read up on efficiency on streaming aswell. Sharing the cores etc. for a better performance.

Hi;
I'm thinking of a new monitor.
My current is the Viewsonic VX2000, 20", which is a decent monitor, but response time is slow compared to today's standards.
There is also a problem with this monitor when running at native resolution (1600 x 1200) @ 60Hz.

For some reason, I get "noise" on the screen as white horizontal dashes or lines, moving up and down the margins after the monitor has been running for 5-10 minutes.
It works fine at 1280 X 1024 @ 75Hz, but again I see the noise if I try to run at 60HZ.

In looking at specs for monitors, I find that all run at 60Hz for the max resolution, but can run higher freqs (75Hz, etc) at lower res. This is to be expected.

I am a little concerned that if I buy another monitor, and need to run it at 60hz, I will experience the same type of problem.
If this is the case, then I would probably have to replace my video card, which is a BFG GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB which I bought only a year ago.

I am running the monitor on the DVI output. The card has two DVI outputs, so it is possible that when I get the new monitor, I would keep the old one as a second screen. i now use an old 15" analog LCD as my second screen.

All of this aside, if I am going to purchase a new monitor, I would like one that is good for games as well as doing work in Photoshop.

If you can the very first thing I would do is check your video card temps and then put your card in another system and test it to see if it is indeed your monitor or card.

I love the Samsung 2494 for gaming. Samsung makes great monitors and you can get this model or a 23" Samsung in the price range you listed.

Hi, I am thinking of buying a SSD 120-128 gb...
to get the most out of it I will be keeping my OS(around 20gb) and 4-5 games (total around 80 gb),that keeps around 20 gb free on it,and I will be keeping the rest of the data in my HDD
Am I correct or should I modify it?

A:120-128GB SSD for OS and games -- sound good?

That sounds about right.
If nothing else you could always get a second SSD later to share App/game installs.

I personally install all my games to HDD.

We know nothing about your gaming computer, so do the following in it:
Download and save the TSG System Information Utility (SysInfo.exe) to the desktop.
After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.
Information about your computer will appear.
Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE text here.

We also know nothing about your internet service provider(ISP) and which speed plan you have.
Who is your ISP?
What upload/download speed plan do you have?

Hello all. I'm new to the forum, or any forum for that matter, never posted on one before. I need some help with my pc. As you can see by my PC specs, i have a good enough PC to run some games that are out now. However, I've been having problems with some games. All of my video card drivers are up to date, as well as direct x, and everything thing else i could possibly update on my computer, however I continue to have choppy games. My FPS is around 20 - 27 at loading area's and, on some games, in big area's. My PC should run most of the games fine, but for some reason, whether settings are lowered or raised, it doesn't very well. When playing Lara Croft: The Guardians of Light, any large explosion causes a frame rate drop to 20 for about 2 seconds. Another game is Mafia II, When loading from one area to another, as driving, the FPS slows to about 10-15fps. I know that this is mainly due to having to load new files, but i don't think it should be dropping that low. The last game i've having trouble with is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. Frames are average of 25fps, but in outside area's and places with lots of sprites seem to drop to around 17-21fps. These frame rate drops are very irritating because i spent lots of money on my PC that i really couldn't afford, just so i'd be able to play games like these. I'm a gamer, 100% and i've played many many games. But when you go out and buy an new PC, it's a horribl... Read more
