I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This is my system

Dell Dimension 3000
Intel pentium 4
2.8 GHZ 512 RAM
windows XP (sp2)
Intel extreme graphics 2 onboard video

The video card im trying to install is a
Radeon X800 PCI series

When I try to disable the video card it seems to only reset my graphics settings to 8 bit and 800 x 600 resolution, I've looked at other posts here about the Intel extreme graphics 2 and I know that it will consistently try to reinstall its driver if uninstalled. My ATI Catalyst software will not install itself for some reason. I put in the disc and it goes through the installation process, aburptly stops but it doesn't install any ATI things onto the computer, when I look in my control panel afterwards there are no ATI things in there whatsoever.

I know this video card works and everything cause it was working in my other dimension 3000 even before I disabled the onboard video on that computer it allowed the ATI software to be on the computer. I tried getting the latest drivers from ATI but when trying to install them it pops up a message saying
"Setup was unable to find components that can be installed under your current hardware or software configurations. Please make sure you have the right required hardware or software"
what does that mean? Im not sure what hardware or software I may be missing...

any idea as to what I should do? Thanks in advance!

I currently have intels integrated exteme graphics on my computer, i have purchased and currently being shipped a ATI radeon 9200 PCI, Will any problems arise from this, how should i fix any error, and is this possible to be done? Thank you -jarrett

A:Integrated Intel extreme graphic to ATI Radeon 9200 PCI Problems help needed

Normally this is a pretty basic upgrade. It has been my experience ,that it is wise to switch your VGA drivers to Standard windows VGA drvers first and reboot .Then Shut down ,install your card . When you start up again go direct to your CMOS setup and disable onboard graphics and then save exit.
Windows should recognize the card for driver install on that last restart.
Please read your installation guide in case there is any issues to be aware of , and if there is any procedure I did not mention.
Good luck

Hi my name is James

I am running a Dell dimension 2400 with 256mb ram, celeron processer 2.4 ghz and Intel extreme graphics, and 40 gb hdd and the rest.

I just brought a 256 mb PCI card made by powercolor, built with radeon 9200 technology. Not pci express just straight PCI

Followed the instructions, pluged card in, turned on computer,go into the device manager and i get a yellow
"!" mark with the code 12 error against my card.

Uninstalled onboard intel extreme graphics controller, its model thing is ...
Intel® 82845G Graphics Controller it has 64mb of video ddr ram
Um well as soon as i uninstalled it and rebooted, windows would automactically recongise it again and then yeah. it would become default.
So i disabled it and now its outta use. yay =)
I am currently running off the default windows vgasave graphics thing and i still have the error code 12 on my radeon.

I have installed catallyst, downloaded specific drivers from the powercolor site, installed those and i get either

TUL corporation, RADEON 9200 SERIES ver. [5/3/2006]

just the plain

RADEON 9200 SERIES ver. [5/3/2006]

Well i am using the plain Radeon 9200 series driver ^
And have tried both with no luck.

I read somewhere that i should not use the microsoft drivers
so i steered clear.

Then i saw that I should try adjusting the agp apeture in the bios setup.
To have it under 64mb.
I dont even have a agp slot!! but it couldnt hurt.

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and I'm seeking help to setup dual monitors with my new ATI RADEON 9250 from NewEgg. I have an AOPEN motherboard with an onboard graphics card (Intelr Extreme Graphics Driver I came upon this thread and I saw he had trouble installing his ATI card. I read that, and I went to Device Manager and I disabled the Intel controller. Then I shut off my computer and installed my ATI card without any problems. I booted up the computer and installed the drivers successfully. But I had one problem - dual monitors. I wanted to set up one monitor hooked up to my onboard intel card and one monitor to my ATI card. When I clicked properties on my desktop > settings, under the display I saw *screenshot 1* (attachment) I was hoping to see Intel and ATI but instead I saw 2 ATI. Now I know that on the ATI card theres a secondary plug for a second monitor but you need an adapter to it. The adapter would be my second way out, the first way out is to set up the second monitor to the Intel onboard card. When I went to device manager, I only saw 2 ATIs, the Intel disappeared. I tried installing drivers again but it gave me an error.. *screenshot 2* shows what I just said.

err attachment wont work..

What you can do is look for the individual price of your parts, I'd recommend www.newegg.com or any other webpage like that. Then, when you have the price for each part, add everything up and get the overall price of your system.

Hello everyone.. I need help toward a problem than I'm currently experiencing right now.. My laptop model is HP Pavilion g4-2208tx with Dual Graphic (AMD Radeon 7600M + Intel HD Graphic 4000).My OS is Windows 10 (64 bit) with 8GB of RAM. So I've installed this Windows 10 (64 bit) to replace my old Windows 8 OS from the factory.Everything ran well till the time when I was trying to play some game that I've been playing smoothly on this laptop before (PES 2013 and PES 2016). I also set the switchable setting from AMD Catalyst Control Center to "High Performance", but it can only be played for like 2 minutes then my laptop started to overheat (it looks like working very hard) then the player movement on the game become slow and I need to close the game. I've tried to re-install the game but nothing happen. Funny thing is the game ran better on my other laptop with VGA only Intel HD Graphic 3000. My friend told me that it could be a problem with the Driver. I've tried to find my laptop driver from HP Official Website but I've found nothing. Is there anyone have solution for this?

I am thinking of upgrading Vid Cards n I have come town to this one.. however after googling around.. i found this..

Thats the Retail version i guess selling for $207 Canadian.. while this one..

is selling for $101.99 Canadian.. this ones an OEM version..

i read in the tigerdirect.ca review that the one they sell is underclocked.. can i overclock it so its the same speed as the legit version?

also what are the main differences.. why do they look noticeably different?

A:2 Radeon 9600 Pro's.. different looks and price

It looks like the retail one is a little newer model of the card. The retail parts always cost more, because they include games, drivers, svideo cables/adapters, a warranty, and fancy packaging. Oem's usually are just bare cards with a very short warranty(30days or so).

Normally, cards can oc some, but I didn't like what I read here, "This was certainly good news but we wonder if Gigabyte/ATi artificially limits overclocking like they did with earlier videocards."

I wonder if this is an "earlier" video card. For the price differnence though the oem is still a good bang for the buck, it (I guess) is underclocked so it's a little slower, but a lot cheaper.

With AMD prices continuing to fall, the stage appears to be nearly set for the other shoe to drop: a possible new FX series processor that enables the FX-62's prices to fall, or a possible "4x4" series processor that takes over the premium side of AMD's price/performance scale.

AMD's prices, surprisingly, have continued to fall steadily, especially in recent days with news of the upcoming Athlon 64 X2 3600+ for the low end. The projected price for that processor is said to be $149, but already the 3800+ is selling for as low as $167.

Look up the average cost for the components and go from there. No one will pay the full retail price for all of your components so lower the price 20% or so. It is really a gaming computer and would limit the people that would be interested in it. More horsepower than the average spreadsheet cruncher would ever use.

Advanced Micro Devices is trying to beat Intel on price with its latest six-core desktop Phenom II X6 processors that were unveiled today.

AMD is shipping two X6 processors that are substantially less pricey than Intel's latest six-core Core i7-980XM desktop processor, which was announced last month. The Phenom II X6 1090T processor runs at 3.2GHz and is priced at $295, while the 1055T, which runs at 2.8GHz, is priced at $199. Intel's Core i7-980XM desktop processor is priced at $999, according to a price list on Intel's Web site.

The X6 chips are targeted at gamers and buyers looking for high-performance desktops, said Adam Kozak, platform marketing manager at AMD. The chips are the fastest yet in AMD's desktop processor lineup.

There we go.....that is typically how AMD competes with Intel on CPU's. It's not usually $50 price differences we are talking about. It's hundreds of dollars. And the Core i7-980x is over $1,000 which is insane Now to start reading the benchmarks.

People are maxing out battlefield 3 with a 3.4ghz processor and a 6950 graphic card (well thats what i saw on youtube). I cant play the Fault line mission (gametrailer of BF3) on campagin mode at max graphics becuase my pc will just spazz out, and ive been recently been getitng this error where a blue screen would pop up and say to prevent internal hardware damage, window is shutting down blah blah blah, and it automatically restarts my pc..SmarteyBall has suggested to get rid of the 5970 becuase these cards are apparently known to cause problem at crossfire mode and told me im better off with 1 gpu. Alright, I'm going to be very specific.

I want to hear responses from people that have the Intel Extreme Edition processor, I would also like to know the set up and component's you've got.

For those that don't have one:
Please, don't post how you think it sucks, or how you think it's overpriced, or how you wouldn't buy one, or how you'd rather have something else... or how you don't think anyone should buy it... no please.

For those that have one:
I'd like to hear comments from people that have it. How is it? How 'fast' to you is it compared to what you've previously used? What kind of set up? Motherboard? RAM (ammount)? Cooling? Hard Drive(s)?

A:Could I get a quick price check for an upcomming swap meet...?

For System 2, $300 is a little steep for a 366 system.
System 1 price is fair for what is in it but with new faster systems being offered by major sellers, $1300 may be hard to get. You will have to convince them. I just built an AMD 1.4 system with 19" monitor and stuff and it was only about $1200. Remember, all most non computer people see two things, SPEED, and PRICE.

Anyway, good luck selling them, try to convince them thats what they want, don't be afraid to come down a little, just don't take a beating.

Ive read and seen benchmarks and overclocking of both, and apprently the 5970 will outperform the latter.

I am building a Web Server using Windows Web Server 2008 R2 which I understand to be based on Windows 7 as for dealing with SSD drives and TRIM. I am getting so much different information for recommendations in other forums, hopefully someone here can clear this up for me. Some are insisting on Intel, swearing they blow away OCZ, but I see performance charts showing the new Vertex 2 consistently performing better then the X25 -Extreme

1.) Does using any form of RAID with Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 create the need to partition the drive only utilizing half of it. I have been told that there is no TRIM when using RAID.

2.) Is the OCZ Vertex 2 with Max Read: up to 285MB/s, Max Write: up to 275 MB/s, Sustained Write: up to 250 MB/s, and Random Write 4KB (Aligned): 50,000 IOPS now competitive with the Intel x25-Extreme drives featuring Sequential Access: Read up to 250MB/s, Sequential Access-Write: up to 170 MB/s (can't find an IOPS spec for random read/write).

Any information would be very much appreciated.

A:Intel SSD x25-Extreme vs. OCZ Vertex 2 SATATII

I guess I am confused as to why you would but an SSD drive into a web server. Your biggest bottleneck will be your internet speed by far.

Hello every one, I'm having a problem. I want to install a better graphics card to my compaq presario 2223US notebook. It has intel extreme graphics 2 which isn't very good with new 3D games. I heard it was very hard to remove and may not be removable at all. Is it possible to remove it? all answers are thanked.

A:removing Intel extreme graphics 2

Well intel extreme graphics 2 is a chip built into the motherboard so you can't remove it but you can dissable it in bios allowing the instalation of a seperate video card.
However most notebooks don't have slots for video card upgrades so chances are you won't be able to upgrade your video card.

Hi, first of all i'm not really that clever with computers. I'm just gettin a new one which has"integrated intel extreme graphics". Can anyone tell me if it is any good. I currently have a geforce 256. is that worse or better?

A:Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics

It seems to be worse from here.

# i845GL (integrated Intel Extreme)
# i865G (integrated Intel Extreme 2)
# V4 4500
# Rage Fury MAXX
# nForce 420 (integrated GF2 MX)
# Kyro
# Radeon VE 7000
# GF 256 SDRClick to expand...

Rated from worst(top) to best bottom. Note this is only a section of the chart, there are better and worse than the listed above.
http://users.erols.com/chare/video.htm Bottom of page for chart.

Hopefully it has an agp expansion slot so you can install a decent graphics card, but sadly many computers with intel extreme graphics completely lack this slot, and hence are stuck with very low end graphics.

I am thinking of buying a new computer, and I have found a good price for one. However, I don't know wheather it will run the games that I want it to.

It has Intel extreme graphics intergrated graphics card, and I would like to know if this will run WoW for the minimum. It has directX support and it says that it can run 3D games.

Is this video card sufficient to run SIMS games? I am thinking of purchasing a Dell with this card installed.

A:Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2

It should run it if you get a processor(preferably a pentium 4 instead of a celeron) that's above 2ghz.
Neither intel extreme 2 or sis mirage2 are good at games. I have integrated intel extreme 2 graphics in my one system. If I use it I get a score of about 4,000 points on aquamark3(about 4 frames per second, a real slideshow), but when I use my nvidia 6600 graphics card I get about 40,000 points, (about 40frames per second, a reasonable rate). The 6600 128mb is about 10X as fast as intel extreme2. The 6600 costs about $110 usd. You need an agp or pci-express port to use the graphics card though, which most cheap dell systems don't have(they can't be upgraded cheaply).

I want to get my parents an LCD for their Dell PC. The PC is using Intel Extreme onboard graphics which claims to support resolutions of:

350 MHz DAC for 1800x1440 @ 85Hz max CRT resolution or [email protected] max FP resolution

However, here is what I found for supported resolutions:
1024 x 768, 16M colors (60, 70, 75, 85, 100,120 Hz)
1152 x 864, 16M colors (60, 70, 75, 85, 100 Hz)
1280 x 1024, 16M colors (60, 75, 85, 100 Hz)
1600 x 1200, 16M colors (60 Hz)
1920 x 1440, 64K colors (60, 75 Hz)
2048 x 1536, 64K colors (60 Hz)

Those may be for CRT and maybe not for LCD. I just don't want to buy the monitor and have it not work.

A:Intel Extreme Graphics and LCD WideScreen

Just get an LCD and a cheapo graphics card for like $30. Get like a X300 or Geforce 6200 or something. They are cheap, and support resolutions of up to 2560x1600 at full 16m color instead of crappy 64k. Also, they come with a VGA and a DVI output (DVI is for LCDs and that intel graphics card doesn't have DVI) so it will work.

I am in desperation mode right now. I have spent the last two days to figure out what has been wrong with my Graphics Card and I am just hoping I have not fried it or done irreversible damage.

A couple days ago the Catalyst Control Center was refusing to open for me so instead I began to use ATI Tray Tools. At first everything was fine I even was able to Overclock it slightly. I grew curious and let it bench my GPU for a time. Soon my screen was stuttering and windows were (Not Responding) quite often. So I chose to turn off some windows features in the control panel --> Program and Features --> Features options on the left side bar. I turned off most save for those necessary and rebooted. I then went to play a just downloaded game, MLB 2k12, the graphic were a mess. (I included screen shots). So to see if it was just the game I booted up another 2k game, NBA 2k12, it gave me similar results. I then tried Darksiders 2 and War for Cybertron, those both crashed on launch. As well all the sudden my Windows Experience Index is a 1.0 due to the Graphics test.

I have done a full reinstall of the drivers, by going through the program files, users files, and registry to get rid of all hints of the old river. I reinstalled and this did not fix the problem I had, though it did make the CAtalyst Control Center work, however none of the option in the Control Center seemed to ease this issue.

I really need help I have been contemplating a full Factory REset, but if I do so and... Read more

A:AMD Radeon 6800 Every Games Crashes or Extreme Graphical glitches

Your best bet is to uninstall all drivers

if you don't have driver sweeper get it http://majorgeeks.com/Driver_Sweeper_d6171.html

after having driver sweeper installed go into safe mode uninstall all ATI drivers for the 6800 series

reboot as it ask you too then after reboot power down remove the card if you have dedicated graphics lets those run the graphics after that power down again

reseat the card power on then let it run then re install 12.6 from the AMD site

and maybe it will be working fine again

currently im using a SiS graphic card. but i want to use an intel extreme 2 graphic card, but it wont let me install and it always says something about INF files when i try to install or corrupt / missing files..
SiS lags my games and i think its worse than intel
But i read on the INTEL site that the intel drivers wouldnt install if there was a PCI (?) on my computer. i have no idea what this is but can someone tell me how to uninstall it?
i just got my pc fixed from a local shop too.. pics below
if anyone can help me id appreciate it!!!btw i am on Windows xp PRO

A:need help on installing intel extreme graphics card

Intel Extreme Graphics aren't a graphics card- but instead integrated graphics chipsets. This means your system must already have integrated Intel graphics on the motherboard. As you've stated, you already have SiS integrated.. so which one does your mainboard have? You can't just install the Intel drivers and have it "change" the integrated graphics chip your system has. You'll get the INF error if you try to install Intel Extreme Graphics on a system without this chipset on it.

If you can provide your system stats, this would be helpful for providing advice on what you need to do. Neither SiS nor Intel integrated graphics are very good or supported for many 3D games, so it's highly recommended you consider upgrading to a new videocard and disabling the on-board/integrated graphics entirely.

Hi, I just got a Dell Dimension 3000 computer that has integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 and no AGP slot. I was thinking of buying a 128MB or 256MB Nvidia/ATI PCI video card to improve gaming performance.

My computer's specs are: P4 3.0Ghz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache and 256MB DDR PC3200 RAM.

Do you think I would get any tangible, noticeable improvements in video playback quality and gaming performance? Or will the slowness of PCI just negate any benefits of the better video card?

If there are noticeable benefits to upgrading, which should I choose, the 128MB or the 256MB?

Thanks, I'd appreciate any help you could give me!
