I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

There's a single HDMI output and no other VGA or DVI outputs available.  I'm slowing losing my mind not being able to run naviagation and maps on one screen and my flight sim on the other.  Yes I know I can use the laptop monitor but it's just easier to run out two monitors and close the laptop. Anyone use a USB 3.0 solution that's verified to work?  Or can someone point me in the right direction?  I've spent hours searching but am afraid to pull the trigger on something that isn't verified.

Grettings. So, last year i bought this Ideapad Y700 Touch-15ISK gaming laptop and i really love it, just that i would like to make a small upgrade to it, like having a SSD (exclusively to load OS) and a HDD (to install games/software, etc), i just wonder if it's possible (if the hardware has the slot to do so). Also i was wondering if i can replace it's graphics card to a higher-tier one (it came with a GeForce GTX 960M, was thinking to get the GTX 980M), as i was thinking to assemble a gaming PC, i thought it would be easier to me to just upgrade my gaming laptop (and save a lot more money doing so) Thanks in advance

I currently own and use a "Y700 Touch-15ISK Laptop (ideapad)" . It is only around 6 months old, and I've run into my first major error. Issue : I closed the screen on my computer overnight, when I re-opened my computer in the morning, I restarted my computer, and now it won't turn back on. Details about the issue : When I try and turn my computer on, the power button lights up and my keyboard lights up for like 5 seconds, but the screen does nothing but stay black. After those 5 seconds, my keyboard doesn't light up anymore, but I still hear the computer fans running.  **PLEASE HELP**

Hello,  I have the Y700 Touch-15ISK Laptop (ideapad) which I received as a replacement for my last Lenovo which could not be fixed by Lenovo Support. Since I received this as a replacement, my warranty only lasted a month (the residual from my initial warranty). Now, I have only had it for a few months and it has had many instances of the blue screen of death with my computer suddenly needing a restart. I do not have warranty anymore so I am reaching out to you all. The hardware scan says the Mathmatical Operations Test on my Intel (HD) Graphics 550 card failed. I got the result code: WVC007002-UL7VFK. I could not find any information about this code online.  Through the Lenovo website I tried to update my Intel driver by downloading the one the website recommended for my computer after I entered my Serial # (I think it was Intel VGA) and after it downloaded I got a warning saying: "Error: The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. Setup will exit." Regarding the blue screen of death, there have been several different error messages, but the one that comes the most often is "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE". The most recent blue screen message was "Stop Code: SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION; What failed: igdkmd64.sys" I am not sure if these problems are related, but it seems the most important issue is the graphics driver since I use a lot o... So, one recently my Lenovo Solution Center is giving me this error telling me something isn't working. Here's the error code: Result Code: WVC003002-UL7VON. Is this affecting my gaming? Because I haven't been able to run newer games all too well. And this computer has a 970m. That's somewhat new. Secondly, the computer has been running really slow recently, and not being very responsive. It'll freeze from time to time, or it won't work. Like I tried to open my windows search on windows 10, but it just wouldn't let me. Same with the Lenovo Center. I had to completely shut it down, and relaunch it for it to open it up. Thirdly, a question. How do I turn off the little pop-up thing when I turn on caps lock or num lock. I don't need a notification to tell me I pressed it, I know I pressed it. Thanks. And sorry for so much in one thread. This laptop is somewhat bother-some.

A:32 GB Ram on Ideapad Y700-15ISK ?

Hi basitj  ,

Greetings .

I was also waiting for other members to try going beyond 16 GB on this model.
So far,  was not able to get a verified working upgrade on this model most likely since it was just released in the market and that it is using DDR4 already.

Seen models that worked from beyond recommended RAM from OEM since memory controller of processor usually exceed whole system max ram. This is due to systemboard limitation and firmware identification set by OEM.

If you can have your company IT group test it or have computer shop to try going beyong 16 GBDDR4 then it's the only time we can decide .

Update us if possible , it would be a good reference for our community.

Regards

Hi, I bought Y700 Touch-15ISK Laptop around 1 month ago and i noticed 2 thing that kind of bugs me. First problem is very simple to explain but doesn't seem that easy to solve, everytime the laptop is plugged charging if you touch it you can feel static electricity . How bad can this be to the computer? Second thing, after i turn of the computer if my mouse is plugged-in i can see the mouse is still on due to the light under it. Is it normal? Thanks for your time and help.

A:Y700 Touch-15ISK Laptop static electricity

Hi Luis and welcome to the community,

Try plugging your adapter into another outlet.  If the outlet that it is plugged into isn't properly grounded, that could cause the shock.

If this is a wireless mouse with a dongle, it is normal for it to be on if the dongle isn't attached back to the mouse.

Regards,
Dave

It gets artifacts for a few minutes then they go away. Would my warranty be voided if I opened it up to look for a loose cable?  I purchased on 2/12/16 is my warranty even still good? EDIT: I also have the 100% disk usage issue that plagues W10. Would a SSD fix that?

I have noticed that the Dolby Audio application keeps switching back to the "Voice" preset regardless of what I do or how many times I try to change it. I have opened up the Dolby Audio app itself and changed to a different preset as well as using the Lenovo Settings app to set the "Dynamic" preset as my default, but after some time I find that the settings will always get reverted back to "Voice" again. In addition to these steps I have also tried updating my audio drivers to the most recent version, but this actually caused the Dolyb Audio app to be completely removed from my machine only to be brought back by first performing a System Restore and then performing a "Repair" operation from the "Uninstall or Change A Program" screen.I finally located the original Dolby Audio X2 Windows API SDK and Dolby Audio X2 Windows APP installation media (located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Realtek\Audio\DAX2", not contained in the "LENOVO" hard drive partition which contains all other system drivers) and was able to update my driver and re-install the Dolby software to get it operational again, but the problem of switching profiles persists. How do I prevent this profile switching, or is it possible to configure the Dolby Audio application to select a profile based on the application that is running? I find having to manually switch my sound profile back to the "Dynamic" preset a pain.

Hello and welcome,

It may be that nothing is wrong.  You laptop may have an "always-on" USB port that can be used for charging external devices.

You might try using another port, or checking BIOS to see if there's an option to turn off that feature.

I'm having trouble finding documentation that addresses this, so the above is just a guess.

So I wanted to ask: 1. Does it have a free M.2 port? all models of the Y700-15ISK should have them, or am I wrong? 2. Which type of M.2 SSD does it support? M or B+M? I already sent the same questions to the retailer, but I am still waiting for an answer so thought I'd ask here as well.

I recently bought a M.2 SSD and I want to use it as a cache drive. Intels RST requires AHCI mode, I was under the assumption that I was already in AHCI mode but my inability to create any raid volumes through the disk management or have my drives recognized by the RST app says otherwise. There is no option to change my mode from IDE to AHCI in BIOS due to it being locked. How can I work around this?

A:Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ISK how to put into AHCI

Look in the device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller, it should say Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller. For your second part of your question, you need at least 2 disk with unallocated areas to make a RAID array. But, saying that I would never setup a software RAID (ie windows) array and the BIOS doesnt support a hardware RAID

My ideapad laptop has had decreased battery life since the end of last summer.  I chalked it up to playing too many games for an extended period of time - leaving battery and AC adapter in for days (in hindsight, bad idea, but I didn't want to crack it open quite yet). After running some tests here and there, I figured probably the best thing to do was replace the battery.  I had previously had to replace the AC adapter for a very minor issue, but I bought the replacement from Lenovo.  I also bought a new replacement battery from Lenovo. Today is the first day I've placed the battery in the laptop (it's been boxed for a few months while I've been at college).  While there is a drastic increase in performance (the old battery would last maybe 45 minutes at BEST on power saver mode), I am still only getting maybe 1.5 on my new battery.  I've tried updating the battery driver.  I tried updating the BIOS, but I'm getting an error which says something along the lines of the rom is the same, leading me to believe my BIOS is already updated. I've tried calibrating the battery using this guide by howtogeek.  (edit)  I don't think it's very effective, as I still see sometimes the time suddenly drop or increases, no steady prediction of time, and the percentage seems to drop very quickly as soon as it is unplugged.  I am not sure when or if it levels off. Is this an issue with calibration or capacity?  I ha... While playing GPU intensive games I had the feeling that the laptop does not reach its full capabilities.Even while using the recommended GPU settings by NVIDIA for the respective game, the games felt a bit sluggish. So I ran some benchmarks using the program Furmark. It looks like the laptop is programmed to throttle the GPU once the temperature reaches 65-67 C.Can this be possible? This kinda sucks. I didn't pay for high end hardware just to have it throttled by my system's BIOS or whatever causes this. Moreover the fans don't always seem to run at full capacity before the temperature throttling kicks in.It also does not seem possible to control or monitor the fan speed by a third party program like MSI Afterburner. If this is supposed to be a laptop for gamers it kind of missed the mark here.

Make sure you don't have any power saving features turned on, I know Lenovo has a bunch of Power Management software installed by default. Are you using "Power Saver" power plan in Windows by any chance? I can max out the overclock in Afterburner and game for hours on end at 1337 MHz core, so I'm not having any throttling issues. However I did do a clean install of Windows so I have no Lenovo software running on mine.

So I ordered the Ideapad Y700 15ISK with 256gb SSD and no HDD with the intension of installing an extra hard drive (probably HDD because it's cheaper). From what I've read on the forums people say that it's missing some cable(?) to plug in a 2.5" hard drive even though there is a slot for it. Would I be able to take out my 2.5" hard drive from my current Lenovo Flex laptop and plug it in to the Y700. As far as I know both should use 2.5" SATA 3 which means I should have no problem right?Alternatively I've been thinking of buying a new hard drive, but I still have no idea what's compatible with what so would something like This be compatibe? (Sorry about the site being in norwegian, but it should still be understandable as the specs are in english).

Hi everyone,  I have a problem with the keyboard on my laptop which becomes unresponsive sometimes.  This usually happens after running some kind of program.  I've talked to a support technician and they told me to run the solution program Lenovo has to find out what kind of problem it is and the results showed nothing was wrong with it.  This problem has happened about 10 times so far since I've bought this laptop and I figured it was time to get a solution to this.  Does anybody have advice?  Thanks
