I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Since the August update to Windows 10 version 1903 wi-fi connectivity frequently drops. Until this update it my internet connection over wi-fi was very stable. This seems to be a very common problem caused by Intel not updating their drivers for this device. I can't find the previous windows 10 driver. I've updated with the latest drivers from Lenovo's support site they make the problem worse. Has anybody found a solution for this issue?

I applied the "critical" Intel WLAN 7260 driver update 20.50.1 (aka 18.33.12.2) offered by Lenovo System Update to my T440s running Win 10 1709 Pro 64-bit. I have two monitors (built-in and external, with the external one positioned above). After the update, in certain applications running in the top (external) monitor, when I drag a vertical divider,  it caused vertical lines to be rendered on the lower, built-in monitor. Those lines are low-quality replicas of the region that the divider is passing over in the upper monitor. (See left part of image) Rolling back the driver to 18.33.11.2 fixed the problem.  (The WLAN driver rollback fixed the display problem!)  I can live without this WLAN update as there are no security fixes listed. So far it is only software from National Instruments that exhibits this issue.  So no crisis. But:Why does the WLAN driver mess up my display? Is anyone else having issues with this driver update? The update seems to only be related to new ETSI requirements (here). Should I care? Thanks!

i upgraded from a reltek dualband wifi /bluetooth for the same issue of terrible bluetooth crackling.
and now my Intel dualband AC 7260 bluetooth is similar.
but what really bothers me is that at first as in likr the first week the bluetooth on my Intel dualband AC 7260 was amazing! working as its supposed to , i could go to the hallway of my house and be connected clear and no latency. but now a days its like before and sometimes worse. i have to be literally 1ft and sit at a angle for the bluetooth to be good. some days and places its good and others its terrible. it seems to be really bad at work( i starting to think its a interference issue. but even at home its semi bad, theres times where if i stand up and move away form the laptop my headset says out of range trying to connect, also sometimes if i cover a certain spot on my laptop it cuts off, same with my bluetooth speaker. and my devices are just fine because when i connect them to my phone they work perfect. also works well with my AUkey. i tried different drivers to no avail what can do?

No. Sorry. That model still has the HP BIOS whitelist which will prevent the laptop from booting if anything other than officially sanctioned wireless cards are installed. None of the approved devices is an ac type receiver. Some are combination wifi/bluetooth. Post back if you are interested in locating and installing one of them.

Has anyone tried or know if it's possible to replace the Intel AC-7260 Wi-fi Adapter in the W541 models? I've been having problems with it the past few months in that when using the 5GHZ band, the adapter loses connection or just crashes all together. I have reboot to use Wi-Fi again. This does not happen when using 2.4 GHZ. It looks to be a problem with the Intel hardware, based on other posts I've found. I've tried changing drivers, reinstalling them, etc. I'm beginning to think it's a hardware issue. Thanks

Hello, Since a few weeks,  I haven't been able to use my bluetooth speaker anymore. I used to simply connect (Bluetooth Devices -> My speaker -> Services -> Listen to music) but the "Listen to music" link is now grey and disabled : impossible to click it.I investigated a bit and realized that the "Intel Wireless Bluetooth" driver was not correctly installed. I tried to uninstall, repair, reinstall it, but couldn't do any of these actions, I always got an error message near the end of the installation process.I'm pretty sure this is the problem : I checked the device manager and discovered 16 "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" with a warning icon in the "Other devices" category ... Doesn't look good, right ? Is anyone struggling with the same issues ? Have you found a way to fix it ? Thanks a lot for any help. Best, Sylvain E.K.

Hello, I've owned my T440s for a few weeks now and it's a great laptop in all respects but one: My WiFi stability is horrendous. I've done a clean install of Windows 8.1 and downloaded all the appropriate drivers from the Lenovo website. The symptoms are as follows: - I will connect to a WiFi access point and begin to work.- At some point during the day the WiFi card will simply just stop sending and receiving traffic. I can open a cmd window and ping my default gateway and all packets are dropped. - While this is happening Windows still shows my WiFi link as CONNECTED. - Putting the laptop into airplane mode and turning it off again seems to fix the issue.- This happens with a NUMBER of wifi access points, so I'm fairly certain it is not the infrastructure My old gateway laptop which this T440s replaced has never had a single issue connecting to, or remaining connected to any of these wifi networks.  I've tried a number of things: - Installing drivers from Lenovo's website (currently up to date as of 12/12/2013)- Installing drivers directly from Intel's website- Letting Windows manage my WiFi- Letting Intel ProSet utility manage my WiFi- Disabling the ability for the system to put the WiFi device to sleep to conserve energy. I'm getting rather frustrated and some searching reveals a handful of people who have the same problem, but not enough that it is some kind of inherent fault in the card.  It's getting to t... I want to change my Atheros wi-fi network card with this  Intel AC 7260. Somebody can tell my if i need to upgrade my BIOS for my model to install this card?

A:Wireless Intel AC 7260 network card

We need the full model number but updating the BIOS will not enable the use of any additional wireless cards. HP did in the past use a whitelist which dictates that you can only use certain specific models and the relevant question is whether your laptop is pre- or post- whitelist. Generally the cutoff is around January 1, 2014 as the build date.

Hey guys and girls. First post in the forum here I'm about to upgrade some parts on my Pav G6 1344sa, namely replace the HDD with a SSD and replace the DVD drive with the HDD, replace the tired keyboard for a new one and upgrade the wifi card for a 5G dual band so i can untilize the speed of my newly installed fibre broadband. After a bit of research i have read there maybe issues getting the Intel AC 7260 card i just ordered to work in this notebook. Can anyone confirm if it will work? I read that some users have used a tweak of covering pin 20 and/or pin 51 with tape to make it compatible, anyone tried this or can explain how this works? Cheers

A:Intel AC 7260 Dual band wi-fi card compatibility

No it will not work and the covering of the pins is actually a Lenovo trick that I have never seen anybody recommend for an HP. I would think it will not work since the problem is a whitelist. The card has to prove to the BIOS what it is, not hide what it is from the BIOS so stopping the identification data from being read will just cause the wifi card to be rejected by the BIOS. As stated, there is a BIOS whitelist and only the specific HP branded wifi cards originally offered with the laptop will pass and allow the system to boot past BIOS. If you want that list just post back.

I used dell to detect my system and then recommend drivers.  It recommended an update for my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.  My current driver is version 18.33.3.2.  Dell recommended an update to 18.40.0.9. However, the file that actually downloaded is for version 18.20.0.9 (Network_Driver_VJY7Y_WN32_18.20.0.9_A01.EXE - this is how it shows in my windows explorer).  I guess it could just be a mislabeling by someone and it is the newest version.  But the system detects that it is at least listed as being older than my current version and stops the install.

Dell should correct this.  Do you know if there is actually an update to my version?  Link to driver page below:

There could be but we would need to know what computer you are running.  You can also go to downloads.dell.com, select your computer and it will show a list of every driver available for every operating system compatible with your system.

A:Want To replace My Nic Card PCI Half Mini

The best overall WiFi card that was created in the Half Mini-Card form factor before everything switched to M.2/NGFF was the Intel 7260 -- but the 7260 was made in BOTH Half Mini-Card and M.2 variants, so make sure you buy the correct type.  You want the one that has "HMW" in the model name, NOT the one that has "NGW".  And yes, it does include Bluetooth, only costs $25-30, and will be a significant improvement over your current WiFi card.  If you're based in the US, you can find Intel 7260HMW cards from places like Amazon, Newegg, eBay, etc.

I have an Acer 11.6" Aspire One AO751H netbook. I want to upgrade the wireless-G to N. This model takes the half size mini pci-e cards. I just recently purchased the Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 card. Installed it yesterday, booted the computer, and so far so good. It recognized the card right away and the driver installation was successful. The wifi activity light works, the card is recognized, but it is unable to detect any networks. It just flashes that little balloon at the bottom saying "wireless networks unavailable". Try to refresh the network list, and i still get nothing. I tried turning the card off, then on again, but nothing. I checked on the driver in Device Manager, and it says it is functioning properly.

I have the most up-to-date BIOS and I am running 32-bit XP Pro (downgraded from the factory installed VISTA). I was wondering if maybe there was an issue with the antennas? The 5300 card has 3 antenna inputs, but the laptop only has two antennas. I was told on numerous forums that it would still function fine with only two antennas, however. I obtained the most up-to-date driver for the card right from intel's website and it installed without any issues at all. Does anyone have any input on to why this card seems to have installed fine, but cannot detect wireless networks? Should I try an older driver? I know many people have upgraded the wifi in this Aspire Ones, so I can't see it simply being incompatible.

Hi ssor777 and Welcome to SF,

Is this a work laptop? It is configured in a domain network, it has a DNS suffix of .local.

Another thing...you are using Open DNS's, you may set it back to 'Obtain DNS Server Automatically' from your Wireless setting.

Install and run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector.
Click on the 'Show Networks' to display all wireless networks on the xirrus icon on your desktop if you have one running in a corner. Tap the Printscreen key on your keyboard, open up Paint then choose Edit from the Menu and select Paste, then SAVE it. Upload and attached on your next Post.

I'm looking at some different cards on ebay. The only half size cards I can find that are being sold from people located in the U.S. are pulled from Dell computers. It's eithe buy one of these cards, or spend $20 more on any other website....

My first question is, will it work in my aspire one (I know the 5300 will work, just didn't know if the "Dell version" had anything special too it). Also, I have been looking at these cards all over the internet and I've probably seen about 3 or 4 cards now, all intel 5300, but with different TA #s and other different numbers. I'm not sure if this is just because some were pulled from dells and others are just OEM intel models, but I just want to make sure they are all the same. For example, are these two cards the same?

They both have the same model numbers, but thats about it. One even says VPro, while the other one says nothing. Are they the same? thanks.

A:Intel 5300 half card

What make and model of computer are you planning on installing it in? The reason I ask is many makers limit the compatibility of their machines in the BIOS to specific wireless cards. I have an HP and Toshiba here that have 802.11g cards, and I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to an 802.11n card. Found the "compatible" Dell card for a good price and picked it up. Both machines hang during the POST and complain about an unsupported wireless card and refuse to boot!

Be careful out there, you may have a paperweight like I do.

So when I turn on the mouse the speaker stops playing music and the external keyboard is off as well. When I go the settings trying to connect the bluetooth mouse I can see it but when I try to pair it either it disappears in the moment I am hovering over it (as if someone wanted to fool me actually) or when clicking on it successfully I get the message "This didn't work" or "Make sure your mouse is still discoverable".I tried many things already in the settings as well as in the device manager but nothing works. As a matter of fact, everytime when I switch on the bluetooth mouse it messes up with everything.Did anyone have this ever before and if so, could you solve it?Many thanks in advance for your answer and have a nice day!

Hi guysHave an issue with an X220 where the system was ready to be sent to the user, I did system update the night before deploying which included a firmware update, next morning the wifi was disabled. (original bios 1.28 I think, new bios 1.4).The wifi card is no longer detected by the system at all, indicating the firmware has disabled the card. I managed to force it back to a previous BIOS revision but the issue persists, I then rolled to 1.4 official again and have tried the modded bios v1.4 (without wifi whitelist).I have tried the original card in a different unit and it works, and have tried the spare units wifi card (same model card) in this X220, also not detected. So it seems the BIOS is still blocking all similar Intel cards. Interestingly if I try a Broadcom card from a different model Lenovo, it is detected in the mini wifi slot.So this confirms the slot is operational.I cannot use it however since it is a full size card and does not fit in the mini wifi section in the x220.Last idea I had was to try all the cards in the 2nd (full length) slot but that will not pick up any Wifi cards at all. Anybody have an idea where to look to enable the Intel cards again? I have seen mention of a pin which is used for this but surely with the modded bios this should not be an issue? Note that with any of the intel cards inserted no devices are detected in Dev Man, and no option to switch them on via Fn+F5 (wifi option missing) Thanks for any suggestion... HiWhat's the wifi card model, its p/n, Lenovo FRU? If this card isn't approved to use in x220, do you get the lock screen with error 1802 message during the laptop booting with original BIOS? Regarding the patched BIOS any question should be addressed to its author, it's not a deal of this official forum.BIOS v.1.4 wasn't released ever. Intitial, factory released version 1.04 dated 2011 year is outdated. The recent version is 1.43. It's impossible to rollback this version to any previous version, 1.28 including.

I was wondering as I've got 2 spare slot Mini PCI-Express free on my laptop, if such Intel Card (ITM) could fit inside...This technology is quite not expensive actually.

The mini PCI-E is very ease to access under my keyboard and it just have to be inserted, and at system reboot, Windows7 will recognize straight that card and the proper Intel Turbo drivers.

It does act like "Windows ReadyBoost" & "Windows ReadyDrive" under 7 and Vista...so the system will load faster....boost the disk cache, load faster Apps & perform battery improvement.

Work on "Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset familly" & "Mobile Intel 4 Express Chip Familly".

-1 gb (RD, RB, no software pinning),
-2gb (RD, RB, no software pinning),
-4gb (RD, no RB, software pinning).

Any experience in return? or it is just like inserting a SD Card in the Card Reader to Ready Boost?

EDIT:
Looks some of you (threads) seems telling not bothering about...gimmick stuff for geek guy!?!

That's just annoy me having spare mini Pci-e slot, as i won't install an expensive 3G card (I don't need it either!)

With 4 gigs of ram any sort of boost program isnt going to help much since it wont often be used.

A:X240 with 7260 ac, the bluetooth not working.

I believe the X240 is shipped with the Bluetooth radio turned off.  To turn it on try Fn + F8.  That should bring up a screen that controls the power settings for the wireless radios.  If the bluetooth radio status is off, click on the button to the right to turn the radio on.  That should enable bluetooth on your laptop. If the bluetooth radio status is already on and not working then a call to tech support is in order.

Hi I upgraded my home routers to AC 5ghz so i decided to upgrade my laptop's built in 300mbs wifi to modern standards.the wifi works great at full speeds consistently the bluetooth only works after a full power cycle.if you goto sleep mode or hibernate and power back on bluetooth no longer exists.I have spoken to online chat here and i have spent hours and days trying clean instal of windows 10 pro and upgrade/downgrade of the drivers etcI have even purchased another adapter and it gives me the exact same problem.I have read 100's of forums and one thing that strikes me is a whitelist for biosis this item on the whitelist or not - is there something i can do before i get really cross with this laptop.ThanksPaul
