I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

welcome to vist forums.
your belkin router is in 54g or 802.11g? is router equiped with MIMO?
you PC desktop or laptop?
most likly whats wrong is the area your computer is in.
eg:your router upstairs and your pc downstairs router have issues traveling vertical. Also this wireless card is it a BELKIN product? if not you may want to exchange it for a belkin product.the other options are to have a look at BELKIN USB wireless adabters which sit on your desk. and they recive much stronger signal.
check out Belkin : Home
this link will also explain what maybe wrong as you may have the wrong type of hardware for your home/office

I have a Belkin Wireless f5d7632-4 at home. Currently the computer attached to the router and one other computer are connected. Both run XP home edition and work fine.
However, I am unable to connect a third computer to the internet, which runs Vista. It will connect to the network but I can't connect to the internet. I have tried all the diagnostic checks that come with Windows but all to no avail.

Okay I'm trying to connect my Trendnet TEW-430APB access point to my Belkin wireless router with cable broadband. So I can use the access point with my ps3. So far I set up the access point as "AP-Client" and entered the WEP encryption. Okay so I hook up the access point to my PS3 and it connects to the internet/PSN but then after a few minutes it starts saying "the attempt to obtain an IP address timed out".And each time the access point reconnects it reassigns a new IP and I get the same error a few minutes later. So I went into the PS3 connection settings and turned off dhcp and entered in IP manually. Kept DNS 1 as the router IP and DNS 2 blank. So now it stays in for 30 minutes or more but then another error comes up. Which says "DNS error" and when I go to test the connection I get"IP address timed out".

So its obviously able to connect to the wireless router and the WEP key is correct. So what do you think it can be? Do you think it could be the access point is going bad? What causes an access point to go in and out when all settings are correct? Also i had to assign the access point a static IP to access the settings of the access point on my computer.

I'm staying with my parents for a couple of weeks so want to connect my laptop to their wireless network. I have an ACER aspire 6930z laptop which uses Vista - I connect this at my house to my network with no problems (bebox). Here, my parents are on virgin broadband and have a belkin wireless G plus mimo router. They have other laptops connected to this network, again without a problem.

I can see the wireless network on my laptop and have entered what I believe to be the correct WEP key on my laptop to access the network. When I connect it is connected with limited connectivity (although the signal strength is excellent), Diagnostics says 'there might be a problem with one or more network adaptors on this computer'.

Would anyone be able to help advice me on what I might be doing wrong?

Hey guys, I have just received an older PC, the low profile Dell Optiplex GX150. I freshly installed Windows XP with Service Pack 3, and installed my new Belkin N600 Wireless USB adapter. It appears to have installed correctly, however I am having trouble connecting to my network. When I search for available networks, my network is shown. When attempting to connect, the screen gets stuck on "Acquiring Network Address", and after a few minutes the window closes without connecting. My wireless network is encrypted with WPA Personal and "TKIP or AES", and these settings are correct under the network settings in Windows. I know this computer has networking capabilities, because I am currently sharing my Laptops wireless access with an ethernet cable via a workgroup. I am having no trouble whatsoever connecting via the cable (I am currently using PC with issue to type this). I'm sure the adapter is windows XP compatible because the Box the adapter came in states Windows XP with Service Pack 3 is compatible. I've tried a lot of advise from other posts on various forums and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

A:Problem connecting to wireless network via Belkin USB adapter

I have just received an older PC, the low profile Dell Optiplex GX150. I freshly installed Windows XP with Service Pack 3Click to expand...

What's the "service tag" number and/or "express service code" number on that Dell OptiPlex GX150?

That Dell comes with an Intel Pentium III processor and supports a maximum of 512 MB(256 MB X 2) of PC133 RAM.

Yours has only 256 MB of RAM, so it's not going to run like a turtle. It's going to run like a snail or bog down.

It has only a 20 GB hard drive with an actual capacity of 19.12 GB, so it's not going to take it long to run out of free space.

That Dell is a "dinosaur" and isn't worth spending money on.

Have you installed the driver software for that Belkin N600 USB wireless adapter?

I just recently got a new computer setup in the basement of my house. The other two computers on the network are upstairs, and we also have an Xbox 360 hooked up. I was told that I could have up to 4 things connected to the router...

We have 1 computer directly connected, and the second and third connections are Xbox and another PC in the office.

I cant seem to get the basement PC hooked up to the network... The Belkin card see's the network, but it wont connect to it. At some point I even got it to connect but it wasnt sending/receiving packets and it wouldnt open a web browser.

A family member came over and tinkered for awhile and manually put in the Network Key and randomly tinkered with the stuff and I was able to connect and use the internet.... Well, when I turned it off and turned it back on it was doing the same exactly thing. Now we cant get it to work at all again.

It wont aquire the network address... it just keeps saying "aquiring network address"... I cant remember some of the other stuff it told me, but I will be checkin the site for replies and will be trying everything you guys say.

What must we do to get this crap up and running? I really appreciate any help and if you happen to be the one that gives me the correct advice that gets things up and running, I will mail you a $5.00 Taco Bell gift card as a sign of my gratitude. Just so you know, that can buy 3 or 4 days of burritos/tacos if you play your cards right.

A:Wireless Connections problems (Belkin Wireless Utility)

Actually, you can have more than four things connected to the router. You normally have connections for four wired connections, but you can have more wireless connections. Also, you can expand the wired connections with an Ethernet switch.

First off, I'd access the router's configuration and disable encryption to get the connection initially connected. Once you get it connecting without the encryption, then we can add in the encryption as a separate step.

Please supply the following info.

The name of your ISP and country of residence.
Make/model of the broadband modem.
Make/model of the router (if any).
Connection type, wired, wireless.
Make/model of network card or wireless adapter.
Make/model of your computer (motherboard if home-built).
Version and patch level of Windows, i.e. XP-Home SP2.

Belkin G wireless router 2.4ghz-802.11g
Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card

I am having an odd problem with the wireless capability of my wireless router. When I first got my router I used the Software included but that did not work so I set up my network manually. For several months everything was working perfectly and both physical and wireless connections to the router were working. Recently the wireless capability of the router has stopped working, however it still emits a strong signal and functions perfectly as a non-wireless router.

The problem my laptop encounter when it is try to connect is that the connection status constantly displays "Authenticating". I have tried to rebuild the network, no effect. Have clicked on the repair button, it sits indefinilty on the step "renewing IP address". I have tried physically entering my IP address, no effect. I am positive the problem is not my laptop wireless card because it still fuctions perfectly on all other networks.

Is this a networking problem or is it just time to get a new router?

All was connected and working fine for couple weeks then all of a sudden just stopped, the internet works fine when connected direct to the pc again but will not recognise anything going through the wireless router.

I contacted a pc guy i know who advised the following: The new modem probably needs you to enter the account name/password to connect.

and I understand that the BT voyager 220V modem/router user name/password is entered on the WAN configuration screen using the web based setup for the modem but im not sure how to access this information?

Please could you help??

A:belkin wireless problems

First off, please post the exact model of the router.

Second, let's see this when connected directly to the modem.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Hi guys,
I have a brand new Belkin N+ router. It was working fine from last 10 months. But recently , say from last 20 days happening a issue with the wireless router. the internet will work for few hours properly, suddenly Internet will cut off or wireless router hanged up for a few seconds. the led for internet will either go off or go orange. Sometimes even the modem led will turn off or go orange. It takes about 10 seconds then its back on or else I need to restart the router. After restarting the router, the Internet will work fine.

Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

Much appreciated.

A:Belkin n+ wireless router problems

If the modem is losing the connection, I'd start there. Make sure the connections to the modem and router are secure, make sure you have good power (a UPS is a good idea here).

Another thing that you can do is update the firmware to the latest available and then reset to factory defaults and reconfigure. You wouldn't happen to be using P2P applications now, would you? Those will drive many routers up the wall.

A:Belkin wireless card problems

to setup the wireless, the instructions usually say
hardwire the the system to the router first to setup the configuration.
The 169.254.*.* tells you that DHCP is not enabled or configured correctly.
Typical config is
set a non-default SSID
let it broadcast
for the time being, leave WPA and WEP off
enable DHCP for both the IP and DNS addressesIn the wired mode, the new system should be connecting correctly and
ipconfig /all should have a 192.168... number
In the wireless mode, you should SEE your SSID and be able to connect.

Now go back to the router and set WPA or WEP on and set your keys.

Hi. I recently installed Windows Vista home premium x64 on my Athlon 64 system and

For instance, when I set it to search for wireless networks nearby (which it

Okay before I start with my problems I just want to say I've called Belkin tech support about 12 times and this issue has never been resolved. And if it has, it lasts for a few minutes like when we switch the channels.

Okay there are 2 computers:

One is a laptop that is standard Windows XP Home edition. It has a built-in wireless networking card (I don't know what it is) but if I were to guess some standard dell one that came with it. It works completely fine with the network.

When I start the computer it takes a good 3-5 minutes to go online. I see the tv icon appear and it connects instantly but the internet connection is non-existent for 3-5 minutes for some reason. Under properties sent is high but recieved is very low it's like 100-200 kb per every 45 seconds.

I get constant dropped connections. No matter what I do on the internet whether I download, browse youtube, send e-mails etc. The connection drops for a good 15 seconds every 5-10 minutes then comes back on full speed just fine.

Bought this adapter a few hours ago, and after attempting to install it, have decided to console trusty techspot for advice. Basically, I followed the "Easy 2-Step Guide" that Belkin provide, to its entirety, and the result was that when I opened up the Belkin wireless utility it couldn't find a signal, or even a network.

So, first thing's first: move closer to the router. So I did...to about 1.5m away, and still nothing. Hmm. Then, after much playing around with useless settings in the utility I decided to call Belkin support. The guy spent 20 minutes getting me to do this and that, and ended up saying that I had to change a channel or something on my BT router. Does anyone know if this could be the answer to getting connected to the network, and if so, how do I change the channel thingy?

As always, any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Right then. I've had my network up and running fine for months, however today its stopped working.

My computer connected to the router functions perfectly as usual, yet my upstairs computer and other things i connect to the network with fail. I've restarted and powered off/on, fiddled my settings etc. all to no effect.

One thing i did find odd, on a net test i ran with a xbox 360, it showed no DNS, IP, default gateway etc. All were showing as

The router itself is a Belkin Wireless G-Router, model # F5D7633-4 Ver. 1144uk

I am 16 so while not computer illiterate, i'm not amazing either, though the network was set up by me and has functioned for about 9 months up till now.

Edit: Its also not the signal reaching the reciever, as my computer is showing 4 out of 5 signal. The computer stalls when trying to connect to the network, and i've tried reseting my WPA key to make sure its right

Any thoughts guys? Or any questions on anything i may have missed out?

I have a Belkin n+ f5d8235-4 v2 and I have reset the router and then I had to manually reconfigure everything and I may have messed something up. The router has two blinking amber lights: the modem and internet lights.

-First, I set up a new password
-Next, I went to Connection Type and set up - Dynamic, then entered my ISP host name and clicked apply.
-Next, I went to MAC address cloning, and just clicked apply as the boxes were already filled with characters.
-Next, I went to Channel and SSID and left everything the same except I changed my SSID name and took off the box marked broadcast SSID then clicked apply . The wireless channel was set to auto and current channel was 11 and extension channel was set to auto.
Next, I went to Security, Security Type: WPA-PSK, Authentication: WPA-PSK + WPA2-PSK and entered a new PSK and clicked obscure PSK then apply
Next, I went to Guest Access and enabled radio, created ssid name, Security: WPA/WPA2 PSK, Authentication: WPA-PSK + WPA2-PSK then entered the same PSK as before and clicked obscure PSK then apply.
For some reason, when I go back to both of the previous two screens, the new password I created does not show up, only my old one but when I type the new password into my wifi network, it connects.

Hello All,

I've had a search on the Internet, but am having trouble finding the solution to our problems.

We have a Belkin ADSL Modem with built-in wireless router (model: F5D7630-4A) and have used it for a good few years now, with our desktop computer.

I bought a Dell Sutdio 15 laptop recently, and we have had problems with connectivity since.

When it is solely my laptop in use, the connection is fine, however I always need to reconnect the router several times, before the internet works permanently on my laptop.

The same occurs when other laptops are in use in the house, so it disrupts everyones connection whilst I try to connect mine.

Secondly, when we have visitors with laptops, and my laptop and theres try to connect at the same time, the internet never works, and the WLAN light switches off - not very helpful. The network appears for everyone, but when connecting, it never works.

There is probably a very straight forward solution to our problems, and if anyone could provide a solution of sorts, I'd be very grateful - I don't have much knowledge on modems!

Many thanks in advance,

A:Belkin Wireless Problems - WLAN Light goes off

Some things you can try here, listed in the order you should try them.
For wireless connections, remove all the stored wireless profiles and search for networks. You'll have to enter the encryption key again, which is sometimes the issue for connection problems.
For wireless connections, change the channel on the router, I like channels 1, 6, and 11 in the US.
For wireless connections, try moving either the wireless router/AP or the wireless computer. Even a couple of feet will sometimes make a big difference.
Update the network drivers (wired and wireless) on your computer to the latest available.
Update the firmware to the latest version available on the manufacturer's site.
Reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure.

Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.

Greetings all - Im hoping someone can assist with this issue since I cant seem to figure it out.

We just moved to a new place and decided to use wireless networking instead of running cables across three floors of living space. I have a Win2K server running IIS that hosts about four small websites and a very basic email server. We purchased a Belkin wireless router and a couple of wireless USB adapters for the PC and everything works great except that I cannot get to any of the websites on my server if I am at home - all I get is the Belkin router configuration page when I go to any of the URL's on my server. If I am at work, they pull up just fine.

This is what I've tried so far:

Moved one machine to the DMZ - still couldnt view it

A:Belkin Wireless causing problems with web server

aspaddict said:

Moved one machine to the DMZ - still couldnt view it
Tried different DNS servers
Changed the order of my DNS servers

None of these seems to help the situation at all - anyone on my internal network still sees the Belkin router config page instead of the websites...any suggestions??

Thanks in advance!Click to expand...

That is odd. I'm suspecting a DNS issue, probably within your router. Open a cmd prompt from one of the PC's.

Can you ping the web address by name?
Can you ping the Windows server by IP address?

Also, do you have a name space set up in your Windows server? How are DNS names resolved from your ISP to your internal web hosts?

Firstly Hello

Right, to the point, i run a Belking wireless G gaming adapter through which i use my xbox 360. My NAT type is moderate and i don't know how to change it!

I have changed all the settings on the router itself, following advise from forums etc. and i know that all works, as i have connected my xbox to my laptop via network sharing and that all works. So i know its a problem with the adapter. I really dont know what to do, ive searched the internet forums and no one seems to have the same problem. Has anyone got any ideas?

A:Problems with Belkin Wireless G Gaming adapter

If it is like my wireless D-Link gaming adapter, you connect it to the PC via the LAN port and access the software built into the gaming adapter by typing its IP address into the browser address box. Once you access it, you can make any changes. You will need instructions as to what IP address to use. Go to Belkin's website for specific info.

I'm actually using my adapter not for a gaming console but for a PC.

Ok, as the topic suggests, I currently have a 4 port wireless Belkin router and also a 5 port hub. The setup is like this, Cable Modem --rj45--> Belkin Router --rj45--> 5 port hub. There is usually one laptop using the wireless connection while most of the computers are connected to the hub via rj45. Our setup is like this because the modem/router is upstairs and then the hub is in the basement where most of our computers are.

So the problem is when we're using the router, it lags like hell. I did a test, I connected the hub directly to the cable modem. The expected and normal pings (10-30) came back. I was wondering if we might have a virus over the wireless network, or if someone might be leeching off of our wireless service.

Basically, I wanted to know if I could get the instructions to listing all the IP's/users connected to the router, especially wireless connections. Secondly, I learned somewhere to clean a network I'd have to connect each infected PC separately to the modem and clean that system of infections, and then connect each clean systems back onto the network. Is that right?

Much help is appreciated, thanks!

A:Leeching/problems with wireless Belkin router?

If someone is leaching your connection, they will probably show up in the DHCP table on the router. If they have a static IP then they may not.

Both my routers show me the mac addresses of machines that have connected to the router.

I would enable either WEP or WPA-PSK on your router... that should preven others from using your broadband.

A:Belkin N wireless Modem router problems

well check and make sure your network security settings are all right and in place. Also, check the wireless settings on the laptop and make sure it is always set to connect your "home" network or wherever the network may be located. You might try resetting the settings to default also and try connecting everything again. Keep in mind you will probably have to re-enter any custom settings such as network name, passphrase for the network and also set up the proper security settings. I cant help you with the security settings however as i do not know how the belkin routers are set up.Post back here if needed.

Hi guys I am Andrew and I recently installed the Beta Release of Windows 7 well the issue I am having is that when ever I run the CD it says that it is not compatible, well I am using an F5D7050 adapter and a 1444 router. So is there anyway to bypass it to make it think it is Vista? It is compatible with Vista, Xp, and previous versions. Also after upgrading is there a way to downgrade back to XP which is what I am running, Windows XP Pro SP3.

Good morning.
Could anyone throw any light on the reason behind the following behaviour.

I have just rebuilt a desktop using a Gigabyte GA-7zxe motherboard and an Athlon XP1800+ that I had spare. The motherboard has the latest drivers from Gigabyte installed. The O/S is Windows XP (SP2) installed and there are no appearent problems with it. Apart from Microsoft Word and F-Secure anti virus there are no programmes installed.

A couple of days ago I put a USB 2.0 pen drive in the USB and apart from being informed the motherboard did not support USB 2.0 and the transfer speed would be at the lower rate there was no problems. Suddenly the computer resarted and went through the POST (no problems) to the page where the account you want to access is displayed. I selected the account I wanted and the system flicked onto the Windows page and then restarted again. This happened repeatedly until I removed the pen drive and evrything was again sweetness and light.

Yesterday I installed a Belkin wireless card. The installation went fine and the card was up and running and doing a great job. I turned the PC off and when I went back to it exactly the same thing happened as the USB. Removing the Belkin card cured the problem.

I have tried the card in different PCI slots with the same result, i.e and can install it fine and works until it is rebotted or switched off. I have also tried putting 'older' PCI parts in the PCI slots, e.g. a typical V92 modem and a Promise 100TX Ultra c... Read more

I recently bought a Nintendo DS for online gaming, and so when I couldn't get it online (Error code 52100, Nintendo's site not helping) I tried everything. Last week, I typed my own IP into IE and got my router page, then seen "Turn into Access Point" or something meaning change, and then it asked me to type a ???.???.???.??? style number into the IP box on that page. So I did and then it came up loading in top right hand corner. I waited and nothing so I F5'd it, then I lost my connection.

Then for a week I could only get internet (Wired) on my Xbox and neither Wireless nor Wired on anything else. But a few days ago, I read the customer support (MS, the one preloaded on the computers) and it said something about changing your IP settings, so I followed those steps and found my computer only wanted to use the DNS ___.___.___.___ the underscores being blanks. So I made it revert to what it should be with a reset button or whatever it was and now I get my Wired connection back on my Laptop.

But still when I hooked everything back up, no internet or network light on my wireless router.

Sorry for blabbing, but I really need it and after also recently buying an iPod Touch, really would like my Wi-Fi back.

A:Belkin N1 Wireless Router & Scientific Atlanta (Virgin/Telewest) Cable Modem problems

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
Make and exact model and hardware version of the router (if a separate unit).
Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP (Home or Pro), SP1-SP2-SP3, Vista (Home, Business, Ultimate), etc.
The Internet Browser in use, IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.

Please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms?
For wireless issues, have you disabled all encryption on the router to see if you can connect that way?
Have you connected directly to the broadband modem to see if this is a router or modem/ISP issue?
If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally?

On any affected computer, I'd also like to see this:

Type the following commands on separate lines, following each one with the Enter key:

I have some problems relating wireless connection. I'm trying to make a wireless lan network, to link a computer and two notebooks.

I just bought a PCI lan adapter from Edimax. I connected the PCI card to the motherboard, it detected and I instaled the software.

The main problem is that, when I go to "my network connections", the PCI adapted shows as "disconnected", when in Control Panel / System, everything is all right.

I did the configuration wizard, to create a small home network, and everything is done as normal, but the notebook don't find any wireless connection.

Can anyone help me with this situation ?

I have a Toshiba Satellite notebook model A210 and recently secured my wireless network. I'm using a linksys WRT54GS router and have used these settings:

wireless network mode: G only
wireless channel: 1-2.412GHz
wireless SSID broadcast: enabled
security mode: WPA2 Personal
WPA Algorithms: AES

However, when you go to connect to the network, it displays the following message:

"The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network."

Can anyone help me. I have another laptop, a HP Compaq nc4200 that's able to connect to the network with no problems.

No worries, I figured out the problem. Thanks anyways!

I've a Dell Inspiron 1750 & a Canon MP560: they're next to each other on my desk.

I've been through the printer installation & select the network & wireless option, but the Dell can't find the Canon.

Trying from the other end, I go through the connection option on the Canon & when it can't find the Dell automatically it asks for the access point name.

I've tried entering the SSID - that didn't work. So I tried the network key (being careful with upper/lowercase) but that doesn't work either. The printer can't find the Dell.

Both the Dell & the printer happily find my wireless router, so the wireless 'thingies' must be working OK.

What the heck am I doing wrong?

I'd be glad of any help.

A:Problems connecting wireless printer

Hi Whippet. Welcome to the Forum.

First, make sure that the wireless printer is set up correctly (sorry if this is redundant).
On the printer setup settings, make sure the SSID is correct, the router's security protocol, and the long encryption key - all in the right upper/lower case.
Check to see that the "Wireless Connection" icon is illuminated and that you have some bars.

Next, in Windows, click on the Network icon in the taskbar and open "Network and Sharing Center". On the top line is "View your basic...", and click on "See Full Map". See if a wireless device is showing up there.

If it is then you have no network problem, just a driver installation problem. Let us know and we can take it from there.

Also: are you installing the printer driver from the printer CD or from a download?

I have a Wireless G wrt54gs w/speed booster router. It was working fine until recently. It won't connect. I tried looking at the control panel internet connection settings on the lap top and it says "The settings save on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network"

I don't understand why it says that because I didn't change anything. We did have a cable guy come in, he replaced the modem and added a cable port in my room. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, I have a PC at home and my friend is trying to connect to my PC but does not seem to be able to find it. Then we tried adding it manually on my friend's laptop and we put the password but it's still not doing it. We aren't sure if we are doing anything wrong or if there is a problem with the PC's settings.
I should add that we tried going on wifi using a mobile phone but the phone couldn't even find the network.

What should we do?

How do we know if there is a problem with the PC or with the laptop?

I am a beginner so please give a thorough answer if giving instructions. I appreciate this, it's driving me crazy!

A:Solved: Problems connecting to wireless

Okay I will go thorough step by step.
assumption : both systems are on Windows 7. you want to connect via Cable not WiFi and We want to connect system A to system B and both are connected with each other via LAN Standard Wire.
1-Click on start and type "Network and Sharing Center" and click it.
2-find your "Local Area Connection", It should be like the file I attached for you.
3-Right click on it and chose "Properties"
4-On "Networking" tab click on "Internet Protocol Ver 4" when it got highlighted click on "Properties"
5-If it contains any configuration write it down carefully and then click on "Use the flowing IP Address"
6-In ip address type :
7-Press tab(Subnet MASK would set to
8-Press OK.
9-Do the same on system B but In "Ip Address" type :
Now system A can see system B.
if you want to ensure you can go to Command Prompt and type "Ping" (From computer B) or "Ping"(From Computer A)
you will see reply answer from.
If you want to set up a connection with WiFi it's the same , but Step 2. Click on "wireless Network Connection" and follow it.
Please note : Your computers are connected to each other, but for transfer file or modify each system from the other, you have to set some drives or folders share and allow some permissions.

Apologize in advance I'm not that tech-savvy, but I am having a lot of problems with my wireless connection. My internet was running perfectly fine for the first 6-9 months, but recently has deteriorated to a mess (keeps getting booted on and off or slows to the point where it's virtually unusable). It seems to be the worst on weeknights and weekends.<removed by moderator - etaf>, and I'm near tears in frustration-- please help!

For reference, I am running a Windows 7 machine, connecting wirelessly through a Netgear WNR1000 router. When connected to the router using an ethernet cable, it works perfectly fine. There is another wired device which works fine, so it's mainly the wifi connection. For my Windows 7 PC, the wireless cuts in and out (working fine now), and oftentimes drops me. I have to reset the router/modem multiple times just to be able to use it. My roommate who also has a wireless PC also has problems connecting wirelessly as well. Currently, I have IPV4 connectivity, but no IPV6 connectivity.

I also have another router when I tested (a Medialink router), and it also has very intermittent connectivity-- so I'm skeptical it's a hardware issue. My NETGEAR firmware is up to date. I'm guessing there's some configuration that's non-optimal which is causing the issues (it used to work like a dream!).

Any help would be really appreciated! NETGEAR support shut me out and will only talk to me if I drop $130 fo... Read more

We have a new (albeit old) wireless printer (HP Color laserjet CP3525) with a wireless adapter card. Computers running Windows 7 or Windows 8 could see the network and connect. All computers could then print to the printer. None of our computers running Windows 8.1 could see the network. I upgraded one computer to Windows 10. It can now see the printer network but cannot connect. Any suggestions or ideas of what is wrong and/or how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance for any help.

What is the brand and model of the wireless adapter card? You may have to go to the manufacturer's website and get Windows 10 supported driver or whatever latest driver they have.
