Preferred Solution: Hijack log, comp is not responding alot

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi and Welcome to TSF

Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run the following tools. Download and update the databases on each program before running. Ad-Aware? SE Personal Edition
*Note* For Ad-AwareSE also install the VX2 Addon Cleaner To run this tool once Adaware is updated click on Add-ons in the lefthand column. Select VX2 Cleaner V2.0 and click Run Tool. Click "OK" , then, if something is found, click "Clean" as in the directions given. Click "Close", and exit Ad-Aware.
Spybot Search & Destroy
CWShredder

Also make sure you are using the the latest version (1.99.1) of HijackThis and it's installed in it's own folder on the root drive. (C:\HJT)

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan
** click on "Free use ActiveScan" located on the top right hand corner Click Scan your PC & a 'pop up' window shall appear. *ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
Click Scan Now
Enter your e-mail address & click Scan Now ...begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls
Begin the scan by selecting My Computer If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
Click on see report. Then click Save report
Please post that log in your next reply.

Download: StartDreck

Unzip to its own folder and start the program:
Press 'Config'
Press 'Mark All'

UN-Check the 'NT-Services & NT-Kernel...' boxes only:
Press 'Ok'

Press 'Save' and select the location to save the log file (default is the same folder as the application)

Post the log in this thread.

Ok I am trying to fix up my cousins computer and there is a ton of things messed up with it. I have recently downloaded spy-bot and ad-aware and have ran both of them and deleted ALL the content it has found. I am still getting a popup and many of his computer games no longer work on his computer because they keep logging him out or freezing on him and never used to when his computer was new.... the computer is new as of last christmas and he aslo has NO SOUND any more. I would like to help him clean up his computer and remove most of his spyware and viruses so that he can try and run faster and easier.... I also want to get his sound back up and going and we have no clue what it could be from... could it of been something I deleted on ad-aware or spybot? there were a ton of things detected in both.... I have a hijack this scan and here it is.

A:comp build (i know youve herd alot of them)

For cases it's all about personal taste, so I can't tell you what you'd like, but here are some I think are ok.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144103

For video, if you don't mind unlocking a card, the new ati x800gto2, can be unlocked and overclocked to x850xt pe levels and costs only about $200(edit: they were $200, now newegg put the price up to $279). It is kind of a pain though, you have to flash the cards bios, but you get a lot more performance for "free".

If you don't want to do that, here's another option, the x850pro.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102594
An x850xt will be too much money for your budget, it starts at $320.
An x800xl would be a good choice, here's one for about $260, but I'm not sure about it's heatsink.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814125174

Here're some benchmarks.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

3. Launch Ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double click it.
4. The program will now open to the main screen.
5. When you run Ewido for the first time, you will get a warning 'Database could not be found!'. Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
6. You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.
* On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
* Then click on Start Update.

I also tried to do a windows xp repair but after pressing R an IRQL error blue screen appears so I suspect maybe something wrong with the motherboard.

Here's a Hijack log too incase anyone can help:

Hi,

With my laptop, It seems to crash and stops responding after a while. I think my computer has a small bug but I cant run any scans because the laptop crash's. Even if its left on then after some time the laptop will slow downs its response time with opening something as small as a txt file and the mouse will stop responding and then just move slow.

Programs I have:
Windows Vista (Basic)
Kaspersky Anti Virus,
Spybot Search & Destory,
Spysweeper,
Ad-Aware

When i run them they just stop responding as does the laptop. Is it a security issue or is there something I can do?
The memory usage seems to be a bit high as this image shows.

I do have 1.5GB RAM

Help Please?

Could be heat, too much on the Hard drive,IE temp /cookie/cache is too full. When was the last time you cleaned out the case? How about deleting Cookie and temporary internet files? Oh and how about the last time you defragged the HD?

We started noticing trouble in our internet browser Google Chrome. Gmail would not respond at all and YouTube would drag loading videos. We have two computers in our home and the other computer works just fine with gmail and youtubes videos so we believe our internet connection is stable. I uninstalled Chrome and re-installed it but got same results. Also, internet explorer was having the same issues. Now, the entire computer system is running slow as if there is computer issues not browser issues.

Ran MS Security Essentials scans but no problems. Malware Bytes full version runs on our computer and no detected problems. Ran CCleanup but no detected problems but did remove alot of junk.

We are at a loss on how to proceed. We have had very good success in the past using Tech Guy support so we thought we would reach out for help.

Thanks!!

From the log, i understand that u have installed Mcafee Firewall. If I am right, make sure that you have not blocked IE in internet applications list.

Steps to check:

1. open Mcafee firewall. (if you have installed the security center, right click the icon in the system tray)

2. Select 'internet applications'

3. Check if IE is blocked or allowed.

A:Hijack This Log Help, My comp is going berserk!

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.

A:Please review Hijack this log, pop ups have taken over my comp

Hi
Its all fixable....

First get the LSPFix and run it....To remove dolsp.dll and aklsp.dll from your winsock layers click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox and check all the instances of dolsp.dll and aklsp.dll (and nothing else). Then move checked file/s to the "Remove" pane and click Finish and reboot.

----------------------------------
Then.......
You will need to remove NEW.NET.This is best done via Add/Remove.In some cases removing it can cause problems connecting to the net, so download WinsockFix now and keep it handy.

Download WinsockFix and unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it should you have problems.

-------------------------------------

When that is done......
We need to fix this 01 Host VX2 Trojan so download L2mfix

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This scan takes time to complete, then notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it here

Please Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until told to.

Having two anti-virus programs running at the same time is not a good idea. It's most likely adding to your problems. You should remove one of them.

Click Start Run - and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find:

Windows lsass Service

Mouse Hardware Sync

Right click and choose Properties. On the General tab under Service Status click the Stop button to stop the service. Beside Startup Type in the dropdown menu select Disabled. Click Apply then OK. Exit the Services utility.

Note: You may get an error here when trying to access the properties of the service. If you do get an error, just select the service and look there in the top left of the main service window and click "Stop" to stop the service. If that gives an error or it is already stopped, just skip this step and proceed with the rest.

Rescan with Hijack This.
Close all browser windows except Hijack This.
Put a check mark beside these entries and click "Fix Checked".

O23 - Service: Windows lsass Service (lsass) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\lsass.exe (file missing)

O23 - Service: Mouse Hardware Sync (mousehs) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\mousehs.exe (file missing)

Reboot.

Run Kaspersky online virus scan here: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

When given the option, choose the "Extended database" for the scan.
When it's finished, save the results from the scan and post them here along with a new Hijack This log.

I've been having problems lately with my PC, and, while it may be the fans, or power supply, the fact that only Windows Media, and the Net freeze (as well certain programs, only for a few seconds, to a minute) I was wondering if there's possibly something off with my log..

So could somebody take a look at it for me and say if there's anything I should remove??

Thanks!

Hi -

I have a Compaq computer - I can't remember the model, and am having to post from my work computer. The operating system is Windows XP Professional. My problem - apparently, the computer has been running very slowly for a couple of weeks now. My son usually turns the computer on intially, and he didn't tell me this. He said he would re-start it a couple of times, then it would run.

Well, I've now noticed the problem because it has gotten worse. Windows will operate in safe mode, but if I start it normally, it may run for a few minutes, then stop responding. Or, it may not respond at first, even. I can't even get it to shut down with CTRL-ALT-DEL; I've ended up turning it off with the power button. I suspect there is something that is loading on start up. When the computer doesn't run right, there is a window in the task bar that says "wireless mouse". I don't have a wireless mouse. Nothing opens up if you try to maximize it, but you can close the minimized window in the task bar.

I defragged the computer, and it ran fine till I restarted it. I ran Spybot and CWShredder and they found nothing. I downloaded an antispyware program that I read about on the forum - I'm sorry, as I said, I'm at work, and I can't remember the name - it found 300 tracking cookies, which aren't a big deal, but I removed them, and the computer ran fine until we turned it back on this morning.

Here is the Hijack this Log -

Looks OK but you are missing some helpers

SpywareBlaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
AdAware SE http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
SpyBot S&D http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their definition updates and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything they say.

Hi, thanks for reading this.My computer got infected overnight, and when I came this morning to use it, my younger brother was trying to play a game. He told me that he was getting pop ups and that a 'program' was telling him to run a scan for protection. He said he got tired of receiving the message and closing it to have it back again a few moments later that he ran the 'scan'. When he told me what happened.. I expected the worst, because I know that I didn't install that particular program. So I saw the desktop and it had a few windows open, I tried running Malwarebytes and I couldn't, everything was getting frozen and it wouldn't open, so I thought I would restart the computer in safe mode but it didn't work. The computer now will not let me go in at all. Neither in safe mode, or last configuration work.I tried to follow the steps of this site, http://thinkinginpixels.com/quick-fixes/fi...onlog-off-loop/ because I had a similar problem a while back and this got it fixed, but this time it didn't work as expected. The scanner (Spybot S&D) that is included in the disk I make with the steps of the site, only got rid of a couple of things, and I still cant log in. Safe mode is not working, but at least I was able to do get a Hijackthis log with the automated help of the disk from that site.If only I could use the Hijackthis from the disk it would be better, but because it's automated, it won't let me use the program completely, I can only scan and save the log. A:hijack case.. comp hijacked

Please do this:

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.Close all applications and windows.
Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt <-this one will be minimized
Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt here.
Please attach extra.txt to your post.
To attach a file to a new post, simplyClick the[Manage Attachments] button under Additional Options > Attach Files on the post composition page, and
copy and paste the following into the "Upload File from your Computer" box:C:\Deckard\System Scanner\extra.txt

Click Upload.

What DSS will do: create a new System Restore point in Windows XP and Vista.
clean your Temporary Files, Downloaded Program Files, and Internet Cache Files, and also empty the Recycle Bin on all drives.
check some important areas of your system and produce a report for your analyst to review. DSS automatically runs HijackThis for you, but it will also install and place a shortcut to HijackThis on your desktop if you do not already have HijackThis installed.
