I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Ideapad U310 factory reset

Hi kimuh72 ,

Welcome to the Community.

Keep your Serial number confidential.
Did you clean install windows reformatting the entire harddrive before or just an in place install?
Did you manage to create a recovery media before?

The factory image resides on a hidden partion on the harddrive and can only be restored on the depot facility.

No harm on trying if it is still working right .
Turning off your pc , then press the Novo key (page 28) ,
System recovery on the menu

You may order your Recovery media set by calling support
Check your warranty coverage specially if the harddrive broke for repair .
Else, you can download windows
OEM product key would be the challenge , you can try using tools to extract it if needed.
For the drivers needed , its all free for download.

Hope this post helped you and gave you idea to proceed.
Just reply back and let us know how it goes.

Regards,

My Ideapad 110 has been slow since i purchased it from Best Buy.  I have tried to re-install Windows 10, that didn't help.  I've uninstalled the McAfee.  Will a factory reset possibly help?  Anything else that i can try first?  Very frustrated and disappointed at this point.

I bought a IdeaPad 700 less than 1 year ago.  A few days ago, there was a Windows 10 update.  I kept postponing the update.  2 days ago, I closed laptop and on it in a bag.  Later, I turned on the laptop, i got the screen to fix startup problem. Restoring to the last point didn't work.  I tried to reset the system; it encountered a problem.  So I tried OneKey recovery; it didn't work because the HD configuartion is not the same.  I didn't create a backup image.  So now I can't use the laptop.  What are my options?  The laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD drive.

I am not able to factory reset my laptop. It is an IdeaPad Z580 and I am using the factory reset button besides the power button. The button is not responding at all. Nothing happen when I press it or press and hold it. My laptop started behaving wierd and it stopped recognizing the wireless adapter card. I tried a system restore, it did not work. Now trying to do a factory reset and I am not able to do it at all. Please help. I am fedup with the problems on this Ideapad and the lack of support from Lenovo.

A:Factory reset not working - IdeaPad Z580

If you are still running Windows 8 or 10 this might work.Press and hold the shift key and choose the restart option on your laptop. It will bring up your repair/recovery options. You can also access it by bringing up your charms bar(moving your mouse to the right bottom corner and scrolling up, some can be a little touchy) and selecting "Change PC Settings". This should allow you to access your repair/recovery options.  I can't remember if it is 8 or 8.1 that you have to selected general options first.  I hope this helps.  Good Luck!

Summary: The OneClick Factory Reset does not work. Hello. My laptod Ideapad 305 suddenly did not enter to Windows anymore. I check  and try all Windows standard methods to restore the system or to perform clean reset of the system, with and without keeping personal files, by using the Windows Automatic repair, but nothing work, in some cases the system stay freeze in a black screen almost 7 hours. By using other method, after some time of doing something with a blue screen, the system finally show a message of error " Error at restoring the device" or something like that. Then, I move to the OneClick Reset alternative to do the factory reset of the system using the novo buttom, but any alternative does not work. After go to the 2% percent of the reset, the screen show a message of error. The last time that I tried the system factory reset achieved 16% after more than 10hours and then shows the error. I think that there is a problem with the HD, but I cannot be sure. I will apreciated any ideas. Thanks in advance Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 305 : IP 305-15IBD / Intel Core i3 5005U / 2GB Video / 4 GB RAM / 1 TB

A:Problem Ideapad 305 factory reset does not work

Hi Alanddd,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Since the One Key Recovery partition exist in a separate hidden partition, this should not be affected by any software corruption. But if there is a probable hardware issue with the storage drive then it can affect the restoration process.

You may choose to use a bootable diagnostic tool. If there is a need to back up data then physically removing the drive and slaving it on a hard drive enclosure can be another option to also run separate hardware test at the same time.

Update us how it goes.

I have a Levovo Ideapad U310, PN 59351642, 13.3" Ultrabook. When the power button is pressed, I can hear the CPU fan was on but there was nothing on the screen. I verified that the disk is working. I can attach the disk to my external drive and it is working file. I suspect that the mother board is bad. But I need to confirm this before ordering a mother board replacement. There are other components such as the LCD screen or the CPU itself might be bad. When I turned on the power, I tried to enter the BIOS set up utility by pressing Fn-F2 but there was still nothing on the screen and there was no sounds or beeps. I have tried the "onekey rescue" but this also did not work. Are there any other tests that I can perform to be certain that the mother board is bad and all other components are still okay? Any helps / suggestions are greatly appreciated. Ken

Same here. Mobo is faulty. Symptoms are- press power and caps lock flashes once- front battery light is on and funtions normally (flashing amber for charging, white for charged)- front power light is white, as normal- power on button is on, as normal- nothing on screen, no backlight, completely black My part number ends with a 7, meaning i5 CPU - so it's not a CPU specific issue but a common issue between models, meaning motherboard or something on the board like the GPU.

Hi all,I've been having some sound issues with my Ideapad U310 for a while now, and any help would be appreciated. Initially, no sound came out of the speakers, but if I plugged heaphones into the audio jack I could still hear sound through the headphones. Unfortunately, now there is no sound from either the speakers or the headphones. To address this, I've tried disabling sound enhancements through playback devices. I've tried installing the latest drivers for Intel Display Audio and Conexant Smart Audio HD. I've also attempted deleting these drivers (both together, then one at a time) and then installing manually/letting Windows install them. Unfortunately the nearest factory reset goes back to a time when the sound was not working. None of this appears to work. I'm wondering it whether it could be a hardware issue, since the USB drive next to the audio jack does not work either and what with the headphones initially still working. I'm running Windows 10, 64 bit. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, My Lenovo U310 Ideapad Has been Having speaker problems, The Headphones are working fine but the Inbuilt speakers that are Awefully situated inbetween the hinge and the base of the Screen aren't working. First i thought that this was a issue with the headphone jack assembly that might have cut off the internal speaker circuit due to improper removal of the headphone jack but thats not true because I noticed that Its an Issue with the angle I keep my Screen's tilt. On moving the screen to any angle above 90 or 100 degrees the speakers get cut of and are activated once its below 80 degrees. I am a bit worried any words on that????? regards, raisedadead. THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE!!!

A:DISPLAY PROBLEM Ideapad U310 Touch

Hi DILEMMA123,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As I understand that you are facing issues with your Ideapad U310 touch display, however when you power on the unit there is power but  no display and the screen remains black.

Here are the troubleshooting steps that you may try
Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help. - Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again. - If this will not work, do test the AC adapter if it's working properly. Remove the battery and power the laptop with just the AC adapter connected and see if it will boot up or not. do also try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if it will work or not. - Proceed with reseating the RAM's if trying a different AC adapter will not work, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly. - If it will still not work, connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it. If there's a display on the external monitor that could mean that the problem is the built in display.  - But if there's still no display on the external monitor that means the problem lies in the motherboard.
In addition, here are further service centers that you can also check
I hope the above information helps.

Hello Lenovo,I'm a business management student from India.I purchased Lenovo Ideapad U310 Touch model this May from the US (through Amazon) and have been using it without any issues till the last month. Last month I noticed that the hinge had developed tension and there was additional pressure on the lid or the screen area while closing. I thought it would be a routine issue and took it to my college's hardware repair center, but they suggested I handle the issue via Lenovo Support as it required opening the laptop. When I checked Lenovo support through customer care (India), I was told that the U series is not covered by International warranty. But I checked if the Lenovo service center would still have a look at the issue, to which I was told that it would be chargeable. I thought it was fair enough and took the laptop to the service center in Jamshedpur this afternoon. To my utter disappointment, the technician was unable to open up the area near the screen (where the problem was supposedly), but he also got the screen cracked while trying to. Now I'm left with a laptop that cannot be used as even though the screen display is intact, the touch sensors detect screen touch near the cracked area and keep the cursor rooted to that point. Also, the issue with the hinge could also not be fixed. All to add to the woes, I will have to manage a few days (don't know how many) without a laptop and also shell out the expense from my pocket! Now my question is, will the screen for Ideapad... Hi TC22 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You can consider LCD panel replacement first since performance and functions are ok.
This can be considered specially if connecting to an external monitor shows normal.

Using the part number to search for parts from the parts looks up page for pricing and availability.

Hope this help answer your query.

I thought a clean factory reset will fix the issue. But it is still has the BSOD. I have uploaded the zip file that contains the dump as instructed.
