I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a user with two LT3053s (2560 x 1600) and his previous T440 + Ultra Dock (I believe) supported the full resolution at 60 Hz (again I believe).  I upgraded him to a T480 and our standard Type-c dock that we deploy limited the screens to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz.  After this and complaints from the user of headaches from the drop in resolution we purchased a TB3 Gen 2 Dock and even after plugging the dock in to the actual TB3 port on the laptop (not the top type-c port) we are having issues with not all of his devices working, namely the kb+m. Any ideas here?  Right now we are running it with the 135W power adapter that it came with, but there is also another power adapter available that did not come with the unit we purchased.

I own a Thinkpad T480 (20L5: Intel UHD graphics, Core i5 8th gen) and since it supports Thunderbolt 3, I want to attach an external GPU and display for light gaming. I see that Lenovo itself has a "Lenovo Thunderbolt Graphics Dock" but does not offer that as compatible with the Thinkpad series. Nevertheless, as Thunderbolt 3 is a standard, I am wondering if the Graphics Dock works with the T480. Did anybody already try that?

We are currently using Lenovo T480 laptops with ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Docks (Model 40AC0135US) in our office and frequently encounter the following issues: ? When a user connects their T480 to the dock, their monitors do not display any video? When a user connects their T480 to their dock, their monitors will display video, but USB peripherals (keyboard, mouse) do not work? When disconnecting from a dock, the charging light on the T480 stays lit and Windows shows the laptop is still connected to power and charging? External displays flicker intermittently When a user experience issues with their dock, the only way to get things working again is to shut down the computer, disable the internal battery in the BIOS, and then plug the T480 into the dock and turn it on. However, the issue eventually returns and we have to repeat the steps again. We have also tried the following steps, but continue to see issues:? Run Lenovo System Update and install all driver, bios, and dock firmware updates? Replaced Thunderbolt cable? Change the Thunderbolt Security Level in bios to No Security and Uninstall Thunderbolt Software Most of our laptops are running Windows 10 1709. Has anyone else experienced these issues and know of a good solution?

I have a new T480 and Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 dock. I find that often when I close--but in no way shut down--the computer for the night, when I restart in the morning, it completely restarts, so I lose open tabs, unsaved work, etc. I can understand enough of the system event log to determine that the computer always goes to sleep when I close it, then, per the power plan, hibernates three hours later--or at least tries to. The first sign of trouble in the logs comes at the time of hibernation. For example, at 2:37:25 this morning there is the routine Information event, "The system is entering sleep. Sleep Reason: Hibernate from Sleep - Fixed Timeout." This is followed immediately by the warning, "6105 - deauth after EAPOL key exchange sequence". Over the next 5 minutes come two more warnings and eight errors. Then nothing until I start the machine in the morning. One of the first events on restart is the information message, "The last shutdown's success status was false. The last boot's success status was true." It appears to me that this only happens if the computer is plugged into the Thunderbolt 3 dock overnight. To the dock are connected a (gigabit) ethernet cable, a displayport monitor, a mouse, a keyboard, and a pair of headphones. Here is a fuller dump of the error log at the last time it was hibernating, or trying to: Level Date and Time Source Event ID Task CategoryError 7/30/2018 2:41:33 AM Microsoft-Windows-DistributedCOM 10010 None The server {3EB... I am using a T480 with the TB3 dock and 2 external monitors. My problem is my screens go black for a couple of seconds every x amount of time. I've updatad all drivers found under the Display and Video graphics section Drivers T480I remember when updating to Intel Thunderbolt Software for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad T480, T480s, X1 Carbon Gen 6 - 1.41.565.0I received the following screen:(I did get 2 Thunderbolt SW apps in my start menu and uninstalled the one which was visible via add/remove programs) These updates did not resolve my monitor issue.I later on noticed there is a new TB3 Dock FWWhen I wanted to make the update I got the message the TB SW had to be above 17.4.77.400. (the version insalled and active was 1.41.565.0) I reinstalled TB SW 17.4.78.500 and performed the TB3 dock FW upgrade. Now I am in the situation I do not have a Thunderbolt SW application to allow/select TB devices to connect.V1.41.565.0 seems to be a new DCH driver. reverting back to the legacy driver 17.4.78.500 is not somethig I should have done.It seems the DCH driver came with it's own Thunderbolt SW application, which is no longer available. Is there a procedure to completly reinstall the DCH driver including the Thunderbold SW or revert back to the legacy driver with Thunderbold SW (which now states the application is not in use anymore) Thanks!

Hello everyone, I recently bought a Thinkpad X1 Extreme and I am now locking for a suitable Thunderbolt 3 dock. Although I've read a lot of posts about various docks I am still a little consfused about which one to choose. It seems like the following ones would all work with the X1 Extreme:1. Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 135W:https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/accessories-and-monitors/docking/universal-cable-docks-thunderbolt/Thun...2. ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock (170W):https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/accessories-and-monitors/docking/universal-cable-docks-thunderbolt/Thun...3. ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock (230W):https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/accessories-and-monitors/top-tech/Thunderbolt-WS-230W-dock-US/p/40AN023... Please correct me if I am wrong but to me it seems as if the only difference between these docks is that the workstation ones come with two AC adapters each and a special Thunderbolt/Power cable to avoid using two different cables. Or are there any other technical differences? So if I am okay with a two cable solution couldn't I just use the Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 135W and connect it via Thunderbolt while at the same time use my 135W AC adapter to charge the laptop? Thanks a lot in advance.

I wonder if anyone have a solution to this problem. It does not make  sense to have to connect the Thunderbold AND the AC power to the Thinkpad, it should be just ONE Thunderbold cord. 1. My power brick is 135W, 20V-6.75A2. I am connecting the Thunderbolt to throuogh the port on the back of the dock.3. I have went to BIOS  and under power section, "disable the battary for technical service" and pwered it back on. None of the above solutions worked.

Does the Thinkpad P51s support the Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 Dock? I have the Thinkpad P51s with stock Windows 10 Pro and updated to latest drivers and Windows version and installed the latest Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 Dock drivers. Attaching the Thunderbolt 3 Dock to the P51s as described in documentation, it charges the notebook, however, noting attached to the dock is recognized. I've tested with attaching USB flash drives, headphones, Ethernet, HDMI, and DP, but nothing is recognized nor are any warnings/errors displayed in Windows. While the Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 Dock is listed as being compatible with the P51s and T570, the notebook order page does not list the Thunderbolt 3 Dock in any of the accessories lists. Lenovo Sales also confirmed that the Thunderbolt 3 Dock is fully compatible with the P51s.  However, I needed to purchase the Thunderbolt 3 Dock separately from the notebook order. What's going on? Has anybody successfully used the P51s or the T570 with the Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 Dock? Or is this something I need to wait for full support via a future BIOS/driver update? Or perhaps my Thunderbolt 3 Dock is defective? Thanks,Boris

I?ve tried to reconnecting dock, powering dock off and unplugging devices or changing USB slots without any success.Only restart of computer seemed to get USBs working back again. BUT, there have been about 5 minute period when USB devices were randomly connecting and disconnecting without any warning.Problem appeared again when I left my desk for 30 minutes without turning off or putting laptop into sleep. USBs were dead again. Only restart helped and it was followed with 5 minute period of randomly disconnecting USB devices again. All other connected devices ? 1x FHD monitor via DP, 1x FHD monitor via HDMI and headphones via front 3.5mm jack are working without any problems and laptop is charging properly as well. My laptop is fully updated via Lenovo Vantage and dock in currently at only available FW. Is there any solution to this? We have standardized our deployments to ThinkPad X1 Yogas, and in many case including this one, they are the second generation model. Because of the performance, we use the Thunderbolt 3 Dock, purchased directly through Lenovo. This setup is not unfamilar to use as we have deployed over 40 workstations in the same configuration. This morning, our team received a call stating that an end-users monitors weren't working. Upon reviewing, we found that the dock wasn't being recognized by the laptop, although the connection was there because it was charging the laptop. We went through the normal "rinse and repeat" steps of ensuring that the thunderbolt cable was connected to the correct ports on both the dock and the laptop, removing the connection, removing the power, rebooting the computer, reintroducing the dock, etc., but to no avail. We remove the dock from known devices hoping that it would spark it to recognize a new device, but it didn't. We removed the Thunderbolt Software completely, reinstalling it, and then reconnecting the device, and still, nothing. Our devices are set to automatically install critical and security updates both through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Updates, but, the only change made between the time it was working and the time it stopped working wasn't relative to the dock. To be sure, we rolled back the updates, then rolled back farther, but it still didn't resolve the issue. We then followed through with installing all Windows and Lenovo updates: ... Read more

Dear community, I am running a Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock with my P72 and I am having a hard time to get some of my realtime USB devices to run properly: (1) 1080p Webcams: I tested 2 devices (Logitech C930e and Microsoft LifeCam Studio) and both provide an unstable video stream, which is regularly interrupted by distortions. A lower 720p stream with another device (Logitech C270) works fine, though. (2) Oculus Rift Headset and Oculus Sensor: Does not run at all or with bad tracking performance. Those devices require a stable USB 3.0 connection to function properly. All of those devices run perfectly when connected to my Thinkpad P72 diretly. So chances are, that the Dock is causing the problems, I have the Dock's latest drivers (v10011) and firmware (04-0E-83_Rev_0083) installed. Does the Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock actually support fast USB connections (such as high definition Webcams)? Or is it rather likely that my Dock and/or the Thunderbolt cable are damaged?  I have been working on this issue for many hours now. So any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Robert

I received the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock back in October. In fact, I got two: one for the home office and one for the work office. It came in a small but heavy package (yes, it has two power adapters inside: a 65W and a 230W one). As mobile workstations have a power requirement that is more than 100W - P1/X1X requires 135W, the P52 170W and the P72 230W - a single TB3 cable cannot carry power to the notebook. Hence the special double cable that comes with the dock. I know I read a lot of arguments on which is better - the mechanical dock or the cable dock.    I have been using both docks daily since I got them, and I gathered my thoughts into two articles.   The review has my opinion about the dock and how it functions. You will also find more pictures about the dock and cable in this article. The troubleshooting article has some issues I bumped into and some solutions for them. One issue in particular mechanical dock fans will love :-) The cable can dislodge easily, and while the dock functions because there is a Thunderbolt 3 connection, the power connection gets terminated and the notebook will use battery power. I recently received a ThinkPad T480s for my work PC and a Thunderbolt 3 Dock. I'm loving the laptop, but the dock is having some troubles. I'm worried either the dock is bad or worse, the laptop's Thunderbolt hardware is bad. The dock will cut out and appear to crash on certain occasions. I'm still trying to experiment with the triggers. I'm not 100% sure, but it appears that while I'm using it everything works fine - so long as I keep the laptop awake. It's when the ThinkPad goes to sleep or I leave my desk for a long enough time that the screens will have appeared to drop out. Or after the laptop has gone to sleep and I wake it up, then a few minutes later the dock crashes. For the most part the issue resolves itself once the dock power cycles and the displays come back up, but the last time this happened the screen was frozen and I had to do a hard shutdown of the laptop by holding the power button. My dock is pretty heavily loaded. It has the following peripherals attached: 2 DVI monitors with DVI to DisplayPort converterr connected to the dock1 VGA monitorEthernet connectionKeyboard USBMouse USBAudio OutAll monitors plus the docking powersupply are connected to the same powerstrip. The closest post resembling my issue is this one: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Displays-Options-and-Accessories/Thunderbolt-3-Dock-crashes-and-emits-c... But it doesn't appear to have been fully solved. I've updated the ThinkPad's Thunderbolt drivers and firm... This is a simple and clever solution I think. The dock arrives with:230 W power adapter (which is for the P72 necessary, the P52 and P1 can use smaller ones), and I think is a simple pass-through from the dock to the laptop.65W power adapter - which is for powering the dock itself Downsides:The dock's cable is only 60 cm long, so there is not enough length to hide the dock (I think this is related to display data on Thunderbolt - can someone confirm?)And that the cable can be plugged in in one direction, so it will determine how the laptop and dock can be positioned relative to each otherConnections:USB: 5Thunderbolt: 2Audio: 1Network: 1Lock: 1List price is 392? in Belgium.

We purchased a new X1 Carbon 6th Gen with the new Thunderbolt 3 Dock Win 10 1803 and have had all kinds of problems. Bad enough to consider other brand alternatives. All Lenovo drivers are current, we updated the firmware and drivers for the dock. With that we still have the following problems and dont know how to resolve them1. The network connectivity from the dock to laptop with USB-C loses connectivity on occasion. Also when the user shuts off the laptop, comes back and turns the laptop on, no network connectivity is re-established. The only way to fix this is to unplug the USB-C cable and plug it back in. Sometimes that will lock up windows and we have to do a hard shut down and start of the laptop. 2. Running the display out from the dock is not always reliable. The monitor will turn off randomly. To bypass this issue we have to just plug the monitor directly into the laptop. 4. Occasional random bluescreens with a stop  code DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION. This error is related to bad drivers. Are we missing something. Is there anything we have to set in the BIOS to resolve these problems? I've been reading up on this dock and a lot of people are having problems with this dock and carbon 6th gen laptops

In the last month I purchased a Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2G and the Thuderbolt USB C dock. Since the USB C cable that comes with the dock is too short to allow the dock on the right and laptop on the left (in laptop mode), I put the notebook in tent mode and all works fine---except... Everytime I power up from hibernate it starts beeping about once a second and does not stop. I have to disconnect from the dock, flip it to laptop mode (this is where the beeping stops), return it to tent mode, and then plug the dock back in. It seems that Lenovo, like everybody else, is rushing things to market with plans to fix bugs later (maybe). Any thoughts I how to stop the beeping?  The first time it happened I closed all the apps to reboot and it still was beeping. Thanks.
