Solved: Address Label Printing without Windows Address Book

Q: Solved: Address Label Printing without Windows Address Book

In the past I've maintained my address book using the built-in Address Book utility that came with Windows. Once each year, I would import my Address Book (.WAB) file into Outlook 2003/XP. (I don't use Outlook for email.) Then I would use the Mail Merge feature in Word 2003/XP to make and print address labels on standard Avery label sheets to simplify address of my Christmas cards.

Since I'm now using Windows 7, and the familiar Address Book utility is no longer available, how can I print my address labels? I have both Windows Address Book (.WAB) and Comma-Separated Values (.CSV) files that contain my address book data. So, I guess I need to know two things:
Which program or utility (preferably free) can I use to print my address labels.
How do I import my address data into that program?

If it helps, I am already a user of Gmail and Google Drive. Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have been unable to insert an address from my Yahoo email address book for some time now and I have decided to ask for help.

All I am doing is opening Yahoo mail and trying to compose a new email to send to someone who is already in my contacts. When I click "to:" or "insert address" my address book shows up. But when I place a check mark and try to "insert checked contacts" I go to this address on a blank page: http://us.mc1612.mail.yahoo.com/mc/kioskHandler

I see that this has been asked before but no one had replied and I can't find the answer doing a search.

Can anyone help?

I have Vista Home Premium 32 using Firefox. The version is the latest version of Firefox but this has happened in many previous versions of Firefox. (I was lazy [or in a hurry] and just typed in the address of the entity to which I was communicating as a work around.)

A:Solved: Yahoo email unable to insert address from address book

Concerning my post above: I turned on my older XP computer and I had no problem with inserting an address from the Yahoo! address book.

I compared all my settings in both computers and noticed that I had different settings relating to how pop-ups are handled. XP reminded me that the address book takes the form of a pop-up. On my Vista I had pop-ups opening up (?) in a webpage. That is the page which came up blank. After I have corrected the settings, I no longer have a problem.

I am using Outlook 2003 and run Windows XP.

When I create a new message I begin typing the name of the recipient and I would like it to match up with an address I have in my Outlook contact list. However, it does not read from there. It only seems to look at addresses that I have already sent to in the past. How can I get it to read from the address book? If I click on "TO" or "CC" it brings up another window with a list of addresses from my contact list. From there I can have it pull from the list. I would like to be able to do it withot the extra step.

Thanks!

I have a couploe of gonzo big Contact lists in Outlook XP. I need to be able to print one of them out, 446 contacts, double sided paper, each letter starting its own section, 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".

I tried on two different WinXP-SP2 computers, home and work,, two printers at work, HP 5150 inkjet and Samsung ML-2010 laser printer, and one printer at home, HP 5650 inkjet. All three printers have a print double-sided option.

At work on the work computer, the 5150 just printed blotchy black garbage, no actual letters.
The ML-2010 would print one side and then go into paroxisms of pain and printer error, so I could never get to the second side.

At home on the 5650 and the home computer, I got the best result, which was most letters printed out fine, each starting its own section. But near the middle, the pages got screwed up so that for example, pg 52 was on the opposite side of the sheet of paper from pg 46.

Any ideas?

Hi,
My computer is running windows xp sp3. I have outlook express 6 and windows address book installed.
My problem is the I cannot open the address book (never had a problem before), and cannot access my contacts even through outlook express 6. I get these error messages when i try to open:

Outlook Express 6:
"The address Book failed to load. Outlook Express is incorrectly configured, please re-install"

Address Book:
"Unable to open the address book. The Address Book may not be installed properly"

I used to be able to open the address book fine before, but not anymore. I cant access any of my contacts through these programs, but I am able to view my contacts through 'Microsoft Office Outlook 2003' only.

Any way I can fix this? I did search for a solution before posting here, but most of the solutions I found were for Windows 95 and 98.

The main reason for me to use my address book is that is allowed me to transfer my contacts to my phone via bluetooth directly from inside the program. Since I got the iPhone, I havent bothered to open the address book, but I do have another phone that I want to copy my contacts to.

I have a friend who has changed jobs/computers. He was using macs. He now has windows 2000. Before leaving he saved his stuff from the mac. When exporting the address book he tells me that there was no other option than to save address book as a .txt file. Is there a way to import this into outlook on his 2000 machine, rather than copy and paste them? As it is a .txt file that windows recognises, it is easy to read.

A:[SOLVED] importing a mac address book file to windows

Hey Moby

OE Address Book> File> Import> Other Address Book and you'll see several entries listed in there one of them is "Text File (Comma Separated Values)" That's the one, highlight it and Import.

and then I see this ......

Launch Outlook Express.
From the File menu, select the option Import.
Select the option Import contacts from a text file.
A standard open file dialog will be displayed. Select the exported address book file.
The wizard will show how the data in the exported address book matches the data fields for Outlook Express.
If the fields do not match, you have probably selected the wrong file type when running the Address Book Exporter.
Click on the Import button to start adding the address book entries.
A confirmation dialog will be displayed when the import is complete
http://www.le.ac.uk/cc/dsss/docs/addbook.shtml

scroll down the page 2/3rds of the way and you'll see it.

I have 3x5 Avery mailing labels (#05450) to use in a mailing. But now I can't figure out how to print on them. We wanted to put our return address in the corner too. I exported my address book from Outook 2003 into the Windows (XP) Address Book. This is great because then I don't have to have Outlook open to view my address book.

However, it isn't linked to my Outlook address book so that whenever I made a change to my addresses in Outlook, it'll reflect in the Windows address book.

I'm having difficulty transferring my old address book from my old WinXP ProSP3 computer to a recently acquired WinXP Home SP2 computer. The process involves a flash drive and when I copy the WAB.exe file from the Outlook Express folder of the old computer, and then paste it to the new computer several things can happen. The transfer may end up as a shortcut or the .exe is lost, etc. In any case on the XP Home computer the WAB file doesn't contain the names, addresses, phone numbers, and other details of the old address book. Since I have moved other files between the two computers using the flash drive I'm confused with the trouble this transfer is causing. Any ideas?

After replacing our hard drive my wife spent 3 hours putting e-mail address's back in our address book. Tonight when I tried to send a e-mail we noticed almost all the address were gone. Any ideas about where they went, what caused it and is there anywhere in our computer that we could get them back from? Thanks,

Danboy

Is there a way to access the address book entries?

Wait. There's more.

The owner has canceled the CompuServe Account; signing onto CompuServe is not possible.

I am able to access all files, using Windows Explorer, but I didn't find an address book for Compuserve.

While researching this issue, I found "Address Magic".

If you have used AM, please share your experiences.

The PC is running Windows Millennium.

Does anyone out there know where the actual files containing the address book entries are in Windows XP Home? I need to find them and move some. I'm looking for the actual files, not just an import or export. Thanks for any help.

A:Solved: Moving Address Book

Hi Danboy

Will you be using Outlook Express to download your messages from USCable?

This link shows how to Export the Earthlink Address Book to a .csv file.
http://kb.earthlink.net/case.asp?article=30240
Outlook Express supports Importing .csv files.
Open Outlook Express,
File > Import > Other Address Book
Highlight Text File (Comma Separated Values)
Click Import
Browse to the location of the .csv file created for your Address Book, select the .csv file.
Click Next > Finish to start and complete the Import.

Let us know if that works for you or not.

I just downloaded the demo of Handy Address book, but I have no idea how to add the address book over the network. When I attempt to, it asks me for a server location, but I don't have a server. Here are the things the software promises:

Handy Address Book is ideal for:
*Sharing contacts among multiple users in an office
*Networking your address book for access on multiple computers
*Making a corporate directory available on your web site
*Making your address book available no matter where you travel

But the only problem is I have no idea how! Can anyone help me please? Thanks
