hello,I want to install an ssd and use it as my primary OS partition. I want to keep the original 1 TB 5600RPM drive and install a smaller ssd on the M.2 pot which I believe is present. I want some advice if it is present, and is it PCIE or SATA ?
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Hi, Well, it is your believe. And yes, it does have M.2 SATA slot and currently holds 24GB for Intel Smart Response Technology. You have to disable this before you can work on it and this may not work at all. Please read the following article for more info before go further http://www.techforanyone.com/fix-inaccessible-smart-response-technology-cache/ Regards.Read other 1 answers
I was recently given 2 AIO computers from a local charity group to try and repair that both have the same problem. They seem to start but the screen remains black on both no cursor or anything. I will list what I have done and this will be on both of them.Replaced ram with known good ones.Removed the CMOS battery for 15 minCleared BIOS with jumper (battery in)Tried tapping F10 for 8 seconds then arrow down twice and hit Enter twice.A hard reset unplugged and held in power button for a couple minutes I see an HDMI port on both but I believe this is an input port?? I have read about reflashing the BIOS on a 23-d010ea and was wonder if this is what might be needed??That article is here CLICK HERE toward the bottom of the page.Any help is apreciated!!Read other answers
Hi, I am Istiak from Bangaldesh. I am using HP ENVY 15-j139tx. My sister brought new HP ENVY x360 15-aq160sa from UK for me. In new HP ENVY x360 15-aq160sa there is no extra graphics card but in my HP ENVY 15-j139tx there is extra graphics card of NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M. Now can I remove graphics card from HP ENVY 15-j139tx and add that to HP ENVY x360 15-aq160sa? Is it possible? Or ENVY x360 15-aq160sa supports extra graphics card that I can add? If yes please let me know that model of graphics card that I can add.Read other answers

The right hinge on my Envy 17 Touch Screen has failed, causing the case to become separated and the lid to be nearly impossible to close. This is the second Envy 17 to fail in this way. About a year ago my husband's broke and HP spent nearly three months attempting to repair it before finally just shipping him a new one. This appears to be a flaw in the construction of the hinge assembly, and we have noticed that the newer models, such as my husband's replacement, have a much improved design in comparison. We spent about $1,300 on this computer (it has an i7 Core and 16 GB of RAM) and hoped it would hold up for a while. The laptop was great, but now it has become difficult to use without fear of causing further damage. Thank you for any suggestions.Read other answers
Im planning to buy a HP Envy 13 to use for school, since this notebook is lightweight and thin and the battery life (from what I've read) is decent. I've noticed that there are 2 HP ENVYs available, both with the same specs, both with the same price ( ENVY 13-d120nd and ENVY 13-d010nd). I wondered what the differences are between them. So I hoped you guys from the forum could help me with this. And if any of you got any suggestions for other HP notebooks in the same priceclass with a good (maybe better) battery life to use for school, feel free to suggest Thanks in advance!Read other answers

Recently noticed the notebook wasn't aligned to my desk. Thought the feet on the bottom were uneven. They're fine. The notebook seems to have a "bubble" on the keyboard where it's higher than the rest of the keyboard. Obviously it's impacting the entire notebook since it's no longer sitting level. I'm concerned it's going to impact the performance of the keyboard and the fact that it's not even and "rocks" when I'm typing is driving me crazy. Can someone please direct me on how this can be repaired. It was purchased new in 2013.Read other answers
The HP Envy 17t (2015 model) is no longer for sale at the HP Store so I am thinking of purchasing the HP Envy M7 n109dx from Best buy but I am noticing that there are some differences between that model and the one that originally was selling in the HP Store. I have noticed the following about the Envy M7 vs the Envy 17t Weaker Processor- The Envy 17t had a Quad Core i7 6700 HQ vs the Dual Core i7 6500U on the M7Weaker Graphics Card- The Envy 17t touch had a Nvidia GeForce 950 GTX vs a 940 GT on the M7No fingerprint reader on the M7 like on the Envy 17Some websites mention that the M7 only has dual speakers and not quad speakers and a subwoofer like the 17t. Is there other features that the M7 is missing in comparison to the Envy 17t Touch? My Envy Notebook is having difficulty with recieving wireless signals at a reasonalbe distance from the wireless router. When the computer is in the same room as the router everthing is OK, but at 50 feet away, it works intermittenly even though the wireless properties show 4 bars out of 5 at that distance. I have replaced my old wireless router with a Netgear AC1900, a very highly rated wireless router and the problem did not change. I have read about all the problems with the Intel N2230 wireless card and I don't seem to have those problems. Should I replace the wireless card? I paid what I thought was a fairly high price for what seemed to be a solid looking computer a little over 3 years ago. The hinge started having issues before my additional warranty was up, but the seller of it (Frys) said it isnt likely that it would be covered because it appeared to have been dropped which wasn't true. Now I read that others have had the same issue and that it is poorly designed, probably purposely. I will be more careful next time and buying from HP won't be my choice.
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Hey All! DarthPotato here again. I currently own the HP Envy 700-216 PC and wanted to upgrade it. Not just the GPU as most people do. I want to upgrade the PSU, Motherboard, GPU, CPU and possibly get an All-In-One Water cooler. My main concerns are if the GPU will fit in the case, and the watercooler. If anyone can tell me if the PSU will fit as well, that would be greatly appreciated. I have two plans, either budget or mid-level, and I will be posting both of the ideal specs that I want here. Greetings, Measure the existing power supply. Then compare the measurements to the EVGA 500 W you are interested in using. You will need to add an operating system (OS) to the list. OEM OS licenses are not transferable. You might as well go all the way and add a new tower. Build a new system. Keep the 700-216 as a backup PC. I changed some components on an Envy 810-150 (below) but built a new system (custom build) using all new components and a new operating system. My Systems:Envy Phoenix 810-150se running Win 7 Professional:Upgrades include: EVGA 4GB GTX 970 OC FTW with Backplate, 32 GB RAM, Corsair RM650x Power Supply, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD.My Custom Build:Corsair Obsidian Series 450D. I just got my HP Envy in mid September, and it's just an awful computer. Slow to start, slow to run, the screen is buggy, and it is constantly loading, almost like it never finishes starting up. The first couple of times I used it it shut off due to some file error (which I unfortunately didn't write down the exact error). Tried to return it, I missed the 15 day mark at Best Buy. SO my question - is this an issue anyone else has had? I don't even know what board to put this on because I have no idea if it's hardware or software. Just hoping someone's had a similar issue and knows a fix or can suggest what testing method I should use (while browsing the support options it looked like there were a couple of different ones). I bought this so I could avoid driving to the school computer lab every time I have homework, but that's exactly what I've been doing because this computer is such a hassle. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.Read other answers

I have just bought a Envy 17T-BTO. It has an I7-6700 CPU, 16GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX950M graphics card so you would think it would be quite a powerhouse. However it is deadly slow. With nothing installed on it yet, i.e. factory clean Windows 10 (64 Bit) it takes about 1 minute from pushing the power button before you see any activity, then it says 'please wait" with the swirling dots for another minute. Then the screen goes blank for another minute, then the "please wait" blue screen with swirling dots for another minutes, then finally the backdrop screen. Then when I go to log in I get the swirling dots for another minute before the dektop appears, and then it is busy loading just the taskbar icon shortcuts for amazon and trip advisor which takes another 30 seconds or so.5 minutes 30 seconds to do a restart in Windows 10. My old desktop restarts into Windows 10 in about 20 seconds. What is up with my brand new laptop? Is it the deadly slow 5400 RPM 1TB drive? Help please
Hello, Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Considering the processor and the RAM, a 5400 RPM HDD is somewhat slow. For super speedy machine, it deserves an SSD But still, 5 minutes is too much, so I guess there is something more. Most probably software issue, some 3rd party program. Just to be on the safe side, first test it for hardware issues.Start your computer again by using the power-on button andas soon as you do it, keep hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap) - you will enter HP boot menu like this: Choose/press F2 and follow the on-screen instructions to perform System test >>> QUICK test. Now I think this is a neat little tool as well, so my question is: Can I enable such a mouse-over feature in Xp? If not, oh well, no loss.
