Preferred Solution: My text in gmail all turned to html tags

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello.

I haven't worked with Word scripts before and don't really know if this is possible, but from what I've read it should be.

Basically, I use a plain text editor when I write on my phone on the go, where I use HTML tags to indicate formatting like this:

Normal text <i>text I want italic,</i> some more normal text

Is it possible to create a script that makes words between <i> tags italic and then remove the tags? (same for <b> for bold and <u> for underlined text) and how would I record or write one?

And also, can I use one to remove blank lines?

I use Word 2010

A:Word macro to format plain text using HTML tags

I imagine you could write a macro to that checks this and does the appropriate action.

You will however have to establich the codes you will be using.

I don't know if there will be a conflict when you open word and depending upon the layout <i> might be interpreted before the macor runs, but I think it's a aquestion of trial and error,

<i> </i>
<b> </b>
<u> </u>
<rmv> </rmv>
etc...

However i need it ONLY for files that are opened, not located.

Also is there a way to turn it on and off if it is automated?

Hi,
I wish to use a 3rd parties website from within my VB program.
Basically it has an input box for a date and a submit button, the site then sends you to the relevant page.

My question is:
How do I duplicate what the <FORM> tags do on that site in my VB program?
In other words how do I send a date (or any data) to the targeted script via VB?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Let's say I send a mass email to all my friends. Obviously, they would all have different email accounts, providers, browsers etc etc. If I put those special html tags on them, will everysingle person be able to view it??? I"m not talking about just the <b>bold</b>, or <i>italics</i>. I mean those other things that you don't see to often, such as <s>strike</s> and
<marquee ALIGN="Top" LOOP="infinite" BEHAVIOR="slide"
<BGCOLOR="#FF0000" DIRECTION="left" HEIGHT=30 WIDTH=200>
moving marquee tags too.
</marquee>.

I use yahoomail, and there is a function in yahoo to "allow html tags." I did that, and sent an example to myself. It worked fine. What about other mails, such as Outlook, hotmail, etc etc etc. Are there any limitations this? Will everybody be able to see the effect??

I've got several hundred word documents that I need to do some formatting on. I need to go through them and insert html tags into the document as per below...

a short bold text line

becomes

a short < b >bold text< / b > line

Minus the spaces of course.

At the moment I really only need bold, italic, underline, and unordered lists.

Does anyone know of the easiest and most efficient way of doing this? (Or some macro code?)

I don't have much experience in Word, but currently looking at writing a macro.

Code:

If strFolder = "" Then Exit Sub
strFile = Dir(strFolder & "\*.doc", vbNormal)

I previously used Firefox, but had some problems connecting to a couple of my favourite websites. They'd just be interminably slow to open and it became a huge annoyance.

So I recently installed Opera 10 and am just getting to grips with it, fixing some annoying defaults (like Password Manager).
I've come across a couple of niggles, and wonder if anyone here can help.

First problem occurs when posting / editing / quoting messages on internet forums. In Internet Explorer and in Firefox, I can see rendered images, smilies and text formatting as I'm writing. I can use CTRL + B to bold etc.
Using Opera, images don't appear - I just see the image's address inside [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] HTML tags. Smilies and text formatting, the same.

This means I have to Preview messages to make sure things look as I intend them to. This is awkward when there's a lot of formatting in a message.
Is there a way to make Opera show images and formatting in forum posts whilst I'm editing, not just after I've posted?
The second issue is to do with the wee icons next to my bookmarks. I have everything checked under Delete Private Data, but unfortunately this deletes the bookmark icons too.
I'm wondering if I uncheck "Clear bookmark visited time" if this would retain the icons? And what exactly is "bookmark visited time"? I don't want to retain any sort of log of when I or other users of the PC visited particular websites, especially ... Read more

Are you seeing all the htm tags or just the one for bold?

I want to create marco in Word which will remove text between 2 tags throughout a document, for example

{begin tag}
This is the text to be removed.
{end tag}

The tagged text will appear throughout a large document and will have multiple instances where it needs to be removed.

These tags will always be the same and the text needs to be deleted between the 2 tags. This will allow me to maintain 2 different versions of a similar report in one document and generate 2 final reports with a macro.

Any ideas if this can be done and if so how?

thanks, Matt

ps Using Word 2007

A:MS Word Marco Help - Removing text between tags

If I have understood correctly you might find this approach easier
1. Type the document with all the text in it
2. Format the text you want to 'delete' as hidden (Format->Font->Effects and tick 'hidden')
This will hide the text
3. If you want to display the text go to Tools->Options->View and tick 'show hidden' text
Hope that helps

It seems that file is merely a log file of the error that was generated by the device when it was unplugged. It doesn't hold any pictures inside the file, merely a computer message that says there was an error transferring the photos. If they are still on the device (it sounds like they should still be), it should be easy to just transfer them again.

Some websites ask if their newsletters should be sent as HTML or Text or AOL. What is the difference between them, and which of the three should one choose, and why?

Best wishes, whatapalaver

A:Choosing Html, Text, Or Aol

HTML will have embedded objects in the mail displayed like a web-page, plain text will not (the gifs, smilies, backgrounds, and pretty fonts are not shown, but sometimes appear as attachments). AOL would only apply, I presume, to those using AOL mail (which has unique quirks).I myself only read E-mails in plain text. See this article:http://antivirus.about.com/od/securitytips...nttextemail.htmwhich draws three important security conclusions:1. "Plain text email does not support embedded images. Plain text email squashes web bugs."2. "Plain text email does not support active content. Plain text email prevents email attachments from opening automatically."3. "Plain text email provides a true WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) experience. In plain text email, there are no hidden commands - the link displayed is the actual link."Regards,John

I'm using a Dell Dimension 5100 desktop running Windows XP, SP2. I've been using Windows Explorer since it first came out and have never had this problem happen before. I don't know if this was the cause or not, but after adjusting the color of a paragraph style in Serif's WebPlus X4 from black to blue, the next time I opened Windows Explorer I found that all the file names and details (I always use the "Details" setting in the Folder Options)were now shown in blue type. The folder names are still shown in black type, but within each folder, all the file names and details are now in blue.

What I just now noticed, however, as I went to check it again, is that MOST but NOT ALL of the file names are in blue, but SOME are still in black. What makes it even weirder is that in one folder I looked at, even just within files of the same type (i.e., with a common extension) there were most in blue but some in black. Go figure! [See attached screen shot]

It had never even occurred to me that it was possible to change the color of the typeface in Windows Explorer, let alone figure out how to do it. I find it disconcerting and strange to have this blast of blue color every time I use Windows Explorer, so I'd really appreciate it if anyone can tell me how to change the color of the file names back to black. I tried going into Tools/Folder Options to see if I could change it there, but no luck.

I had to reinstall Incredimail this week after losing my hard drive crashed last week. When I receive emails now they are coming in as PLAIN text not in HTML. I have checked all my settings and contacted the HELP folks at Incredimail and nothing is resolved yet. Before my hard drive crashed Incredimail was working fine. I still am using IE 7 as my browser and use Windows XP. HELP!!!!:wave:

A:Incredimail Plain Text vs HTML

First, IncrediMail is eevil and you shouldn't use it! But you wouldn't listen to me anyway..

IM uses IE to render HTML, so it could be that your version does not work well with IE7. Do you have the latest version of IM installed?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

There`s definitely a few things there that I wouldn`t want on my puter.

Go HERE and follow the instructions very carefully. Print them out if you can.

Once you have done that then post another Hijackthis log.

Hi,
I'm not sure if this belongs here or on Win98, so I posted to both.

I am running Win98 and IE 6.0.2800. Something has happened to my computer this past week, and now I sometimes get just the text or code from some web sites. It seems to be a random thing, but some sites are worse than others. I have set my internet options back to defaults, but that did not help. Anyone have any ideas.

This is a bit of what starts out the page.

!HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 Date: Sun, 06 Oct 2002 01:17:07 GMT Connection: close Content-type: text/html Page-Completion-Status: Normal Page-Completion-Status: Normal

Thanks

I normally use Outlook Express 6 but recently I installed Outlook to help someone troubleshoot a problem. It's still on my system but I do not use it.

Now whenever I send a message I get a pop up telling me that some people don't want to recieve HTML mail. Then it asks me how I want to send it; HTML or Plain Text.

I get this annoying pop up everytime I send mail and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I tried uninstalling Outlook but it seems I can't get rid of it unless I uninstall the whole office suite.

Any suggestions? Thanks

I want to write stories to post on a story site but I write in Microsoft word and their rule says:

"Story files must be text or html only. (No word processing documents (.doc or .rtf etc...) and no PDF files)."

I'm lost on this - how can I convert my story to fit their requirement?

I'm developing a newsletter for a non-profit, and the best configuration seems to be the use of tables to include a picture file in the left column, and then supporting text in the right column.

What has surprised me is that if I have text after the </table> tag, and even though the table width="100%" the text following the table gets forced into the space on the right of the table.

I can fix that with a whole passel of <br>'s, but that's not a predictable thing in a newsletter.

Anyone know why the text does not get programmed to follow the table?

I woke up this morning to find that all of my Windows Vista fonts are suddenly jagged and nearly illegible. I've puttered around in my fonts settings -- clear text is turned on, I've changed settings and restarted, I checked my graphics card driver, checked my monitor settings, checked my browser settings... everything is right and tight, what's supposed to be turned on is turned on, etc. In fact, any changes I noodle about with just make it worse (i.e. fiddling with the browser font settings).

Attached is a picture of what google looks like in this brave new world:

I can't screenshot my excel or word docs because of the info contained therein, but they're just as bad or worse than that google screenshot. I have such a headache from looking at the screen and I have no clue what's going on.
Does anyone have any ideas? Please help. :(

I have a random tips script and I want the script to scroll the message if it is too long... scrolling to the left should be fine... maybe even bounce from left to right...

Here is an example of the script I'm using.
Code:

<html>
<head>
<script type='text/javascript'>
var tip=new Array()
// "\" escapes the next character in the line.
tip[0]="Always use Amorer's Hammers to repair items\.\.\. it is much cheaper and helps you level up faster\."
tip[1]="Go as long as you can without meditating\.\.\. you'll get attributes faster but won't get a high level\."
tip[2]="Try not to use sources of fast travel \(e\.g\. Silt Strider\) and you will get more experience from kills along the way and just running\."
tip[3]="If you want to kill someone... take something and wait until they hit you, it will be self-defense and you are only fined for theft\."
tip[4]="Never store your items in a container\.\.\. some have owners and all items put in them will be considered stolen when removed\."
tip[5]="The farther you fall\.\.\. the faster you level up in acrobatics\.\.\. unless\, of course\, you die\. \:\-\)"

function random_tips(){
var rt=Math.floor(Math.random()*tip.length)
document.randomform.randombox.value = tip[rt]
}
window.onload=random_tips
</script>
