I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all,

I need to change the chasis of my L855-132 (PSKACE-03P007CE) and I don't succeed to find the part numbers needed. Does anyone know the part numbers of the palmrest and bottomcase of this model? Ain't there online any list or map of the laptop components?

I guess some models may only change in some tech specs that would not imply to have a different chasis. Could anyone tell me which are the closests models to L1855-132? That may increase the chances to find new parts.
Thanks in advance

Hello, my ac adapter wire just behind the connector has a tear in it and now it refuses to charge the laptop unless it is in a specific position, any sort of movement causes it to disconnect which s annoying. I would like to replace but I'm unsure what ac adapter I need.

I looked at the power brick and it says:

OUTPUT 19 V (DC SYMBOL) 3.42 A
Input 100-240 V-1.6A 50-60 Hz

My laptop is a Satellite l855, what ac adapter will be compatible? I don't want to buy a wrong one where the amp is too high or too low and damage it.

Hi!
I bought Toshiba Satellite L855 - 14 H four or three years ago, It was working all fine but few months ago my video chip stopped working.
Local services offered to heat up video chip , but I don't want that, I need long term sollution.
So I need to replace motherboard, but the problem is that I can't find any thrust worthy place to buy it. I have searched on ebay and other online shops but they seem fishy. Those video chips might be "heated" already. Is it possible to by motherboard directly from Toshiba? I don't need anything else, my CPU, RAM, HDD, fan , everything else is working, except the video chip.
I would be thankful if any of you could recommend me where should I look for motherboard replacement :)

For more information I bought the laptop in Latvia, Product key is : PSKAEE-00UooTG3 ,
Code on motherboard is : DK10FG - 6050A2509901 - MB - A02

Hi all,

I've had this laptop nearly 4 years, or is it 5? This morning, I woke up to find it was no longer charging the battery and the computer doesn't recognize an AC adapter plugged into it.

The computer itself works fine. I am not able to update BIOS because it wants me to plug in to AC power to do so, so I had to use nearly all of my remaining battery power to back up the data onto a portable external drive.

Changing outlets did not help. It's the same AC adapter that came with the computer and worked fine all this time.

The battery is now about 7% and I turned it off to save what little juice is left.

Not sure how to address this issue from here onward.

Thanks for any help or input.

Greetings friends,
the problem goes like this: I have a TOSHIBA satellite, L855-12N, series notebook.

After updrading to Win 10, some of my keys (a,n, enter) were not working initially.
If I wait for some time, they would start work later.
I find that if I keep pressing a button, (e.g. the button "a") for a long time, I see that it gradually starts to respond, then stop again, then respond - stop, until finally it works OK.
I tried to upgrade the drivers, unistall then reinstall them, but it does not seem to work.
Does anyone know what is happening, or have a suggestion?
Thank you.

A:Satellite L855 - 12N - Keyboard problem after upgrade to Windows 10

Are you 100% it's a Windows 10 issue?
Sounds more like a hardware problem, keyboard may need replacing.

Go into the BIOS and test the keyboard in there.
If it happens in the BIOS as well then replace the keyboard.

If it is a software problem, try uninstalling the touchpad driver via Control Panel, then reinstall it through Windows Update.

Hi,

I changed to Linux two years ago, and I can't use the Catalyst Centre or offical AMD gpu driver. I wasn't able to upgrade it when I had Windows 8 either (the display was broken into stripes), and I had to dowload the ones made available by Toshiba. I was told back then (2013) that they needed to be "tweaked" for my laptop.

So I would like to know:

1. Does Toshiba offer any support for this problem in Linux?
2. If not, can Toshiba at least explain why they need to tweak AMD drivers? Do they modify the hardware?
3. What exactly needs to be done to get AMD drivers working in a Toshiba laptop in Windows and/or Linux?

Brand new laptop running windows 8.1 Touchpad works for about 30 seconds after windows boots up then stops. Tried downloading latest drivers from Toshiba site but it didn't fix the problem. Tried the touchpad function keys but that is not the issue. Called Toshiba support and they suggested sending it in for a factory reset.

I also have a problem with AMD graphics going split screen after computer goes into a sleep state. Downloaded and installed latest drivers for this on advice of Tech support but not fixed either.

I'm a bit concerned as a search shows both these problems not uncommon and iv'e spent a lot of time copying over data and installing software, don't want to lose it and lose time waiting for factory reset if I have to send ot back.

Hi there,

My laptop had become virus-infested and slow so I decided on a System Recovery to factory settings to start with a clean slate.

After executing the System Recovery, I wanted to reinstall some software, and then soon found out that my CD-ROM/DVD was not working. I do not use my CD-ROM/DVD very often, but last time I used it prior to System Recovery it worked fine.

I tried to open Computer and right-click Eject on the DVD RW Drive: D but it wouldn't open, nor did it give me any errors

I tried to look up suitable drivers from the L855-122 series page on the Toshiba Support site, only found a Blue Ray DVD driver on that page. But it wouldn't install, as it said the player couldn't be found. So installation was aborted..

I tried to open the drivers via Device Manager of TSST corp CDDVDW SN-208AB and it says the hardware is working fine. I couldn't click on "update drivers", so I uninstalled the drivers and rebooted the laptop. Upon reboot the system automatically started to reinstall the drivers. But it failed to install, as it said the device couldn't be found.

I am letting the system search to update Driver Software now, but it has been running for 15 minutes without any progress whatsoever. I had to kill the process in Task-manager because it became stuck.

I tried to force eject the CD-ROM/DVD player but I didn't understand if this laptop even has a force eject button. I poked into some holes with a pin close to the eject button but it had no effect.... Read more

Hi everyone!

I decided to restore it with Toshiba Recovery Discs (I've got 5 DVDs). During restoration everything went ok until Wizard asked me for next (the 6th disc, wheras I have only five ).
Recovery wizard gave me only two options than: 1st - confirm inserting next disc; 2nd - cancel, so I chose cancel, and the computer turned off. I felt something went wrong...
I turned the computer on, Windows starting screen appeard but didn't load and after few seconds I got grey colour info window with notice: ERROR F3-F200-0002.

I have an R830-1GZ Bios version 3.70 EC Version 1.50
And also a R630- 138 BIOS version 2.20 EC Version 1.60 (this is the most up to date version for this discontinued model.)

The former will recognise my WD storage for what it is - ie an external HDD. And the boot priority in the bios shows it below the internal HDD - which is what you would expect for correct operation.

The latter (R630) will always try to boot from the WD storage. It does not show the WD HDD in the Bios Boot priority list.

I can continue to unplug and replug the usb cable into the R630 - but it is a nuisance. I'm sure the problem is down to the BIOS not being new enough. What would be the likely result of flashing the 3.70 version - designed for the R830, onto the R630?

I'm expecting to be told it will make the R630 inoperable. But these laptops are very similar, so I'm hoping someone might have a more hopeful response.

Thanks for your help

A:Flashing the Satellite R830 BIOS onto the Satellite R630

First of all:
you can download only the Toshiba win based BIOS from Toshiba EU driver page.
This means that you can update the BIOS only while running the windows system.

Secondly:
it would not be possible to update the R830 BIOS onto the R630 since there is a protection which would break up the flash process because of compatibility issue.

Thirdly:
You could damage the notebook if you would still try to update the wrong BIOS (maybe using the traditional BIOS version, USB version, etc?)
So this is really bad, bad idea doing this?

Hello,
My friend's in the market for a new computer; for various reasons, it looks like Toshiba will be the brand of choice.
(foremost among them being local-area service/support in Indonesia, where she'll be for 3+ years).
That said, the only Toshibas that we've been able to get some hands-on 'look and feel' sessions with were
the Satellites (i.e. the entry-level machines); they were... OK... the build quality felt... well, retail-ish =p
Anyone have experience with the next tier up, the Satellite Pro models?
Presumably the build quality is at least on par with the Satellites; any better? Appreciablly better, that is?
If simply on par, she may as well get a Satellite and take her chances...
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

But then I wonder why the 11R is more expensive....

Satellite Pro S500-116:

It seems that both models are designed for the German market?

It needs a tab on the back so that the screw through the underside of the laptop can hold it in place.- not sure if they all have this or if its a Toshiba special.
The front bezel should match the shape of the laptop body - most that I see on Amazon etc have a flat front and quite a few do not even include the bezel and assume that you are just swapping on old broken one for a working one and that you will be able to reuse the old old bezel..

First of all does anyone know the model number of the correct drive
Can they be bought anywhere
Is there a compatible model
Do all 9.5mm DVDs have the same screw fitting

Ultimately I could just use an external drive but it would be more convenient to have it built in.

Her's the deal: I have a Toshiba Satellite p25 s520 that I have been using up until today. Over the past couple of weeks I've noticed some very strange things going on, so of course I thought... Virus. By strange things I mean folders being in reverse alphabetical order when opened within any program despite being okay in Explorer. I reset all folders to Default but it kept happening. Also, every time windows loads I get the Found Hardware Wizard for a Printer...I've never connected a printer to this machine. Whenever I did a ctl-alt-del the number of processes running were riddiculous...60-70, which about 12 of those were the same process... svchost.exe. Another thing is that I had a trial version of System Mechanic that when it was installed would defrag the Boot every start up. I uninstalled it but I still see "System Mechanic Defrag Boot" at startup. I'm thinking now that maybe I uninstalled some files that my registry needed or something. Well, I have run Norton's, McAfee, and a few other online scans and each turned up nothing. I even ran Nortons in SafeMode just to make sure. I've also run Spy Doctor and Adware but came up with nothing.
Last Night I brought home my new desktop pc w/ 160G HDD that I was going to transfer all my files to and then do a factory restore on my Satellite. The trouble I am having there is that I have a USB to Ethernet adapter (USB on desktop to Ethernet on Laptop) that i'm not sure how to configure within network settin... Read more

Has anyone signed up for Satellite TV for PC? I first learned about it in a ZD Net window and I assume that it is endorsed by them. It's a one time charge of $49.95 and it supposedly enables you to receive up to 3000 stations worldwide.
Sounds too good to be true and I would first like to talk to someone who has actually signed on.

Hello,
I'd like to ask whether it is *possible to use some SDD hardisk in my M70 Sattelite laptop*. There are SATA III SDD HDs on market, can I use one? Does this laptop support SATA III at all??

Thanks beforehand for answer

M.

A:Can I use some SDD HD with Satellite M70??

SATA III isn?t supported.
The notebook supports SATA I

But since SATA controller is backward compatible, you should be able to use an SSD SATA III. But you will not get the SATA III (600MB/s) performance but possibly something around 150MB/s (SATA I)

My pc has recently developed this problem: when I go to the start menu and shut down it behaves as normal but the LED on the power button stays on indicating it has not shut down properly. When I put it to sleep, it behaves as normal with a pulsing LED, but eventually the LED stays on. I am having to shut down the pc by holding the power button down for the 5 seconds. My last laptop developed a similar fault and was eventually diagnosed as needing a new mother board which was cost prohibitive and condemned the computer. I have looked for updates and restarted the computer etc etc but need advice. Any ideas?

Hello there,
I've got some problems with my laptop.
My laptop is using the integrated GPU (Intel HD Graphics 4600) instead of the other GPU (AMD Radeon R9 M200X).
And it has a impact to the perfomance of a lot of games, that I'm playing on my laptop.
I looked into the BIOS, in hope, there's a option to do that, but I was worng.
There was not a single option to change that or somehow force it to use a different GPU.
I also googled about my problem, but Google gave just one single result and even that one didn't helped.
I tried everything, from disabling the integrated GPU (which it's f**** around with the screen resolution)
to re-installing the drivers for the AMD GPU 'n' stuff.
I'm out of ideas now....
Is there a way to force my laptop (P70-B-116) to use the AMD Radeon R9 M200X instead of the Intel HD Graphics 4600?

(Also, I don't speak greek at all, just to let you know. :P)

Hello,

I have recently purchased Satellite Pro C50-A-1M3. Part number: PSCGKE-00M00GEN and since I have an old ram stick from my previous laptop which is : Kingston, KVR1333D3S9/4G , 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM , DDR3 1333 , Pc3 - 10600 , CL9 204 pin

I was wondering would this be compatible to my Toshiba laptop?

Thank you for your time and attention.
Regards
Jim

A:Which ram should I use in Satellite Pro C50-A-1M3

This unit handles the DDR3 SODIMM and such modules supports 204pins

So i think your DDR3 SODIMM module could be compatible

I have recently installed a one-way satellite broadband connection, and I am
trying to use it from the main pc and other PCs over ICS (the satellite
interface connects to a USB port).
The main pc is running WXP, the clients WXP and W2K.
With the satellite system I have to change the ICS setup to be between the
satellite interface and the LAN interface rather than between the dialup
interface and the Lan interface.
There is a proxy program on the main PC which routes the outgoing data to the
dialup adapter, and a proxy server in the network which
looks after the routing of the return traffic via the satellite.

All data is routed to the proxy program on the PC, using a number of ports
depending on the destination required (e.g. one per pop server).

This all works fine for the data I can put through the proxy program, even from
the ICS clients.
However if I try to route smtp (outgoing mail) or nntp (newsgroups) through
the proxy program (and proxy server) they are rejected by my ISP, since it
detects a rerouting, which it does not accept.

On the main PC I can route them directly to the dialup interface by
bypassing the proxy program, and it works, except of course that I lose
all benefit of the satellite, which is also bypassed.

However even this fails on the ICS clients, since the ICS setup on the main
PC no longer performs the NAT before sending them to the dialup interface.
In fact they are routed to the dialup interface (how does that work?) but
with a local IP as th... Read more

Welcome, pher. I'm impressed with all the ICS/satellite stuff you've got working.

All I have to offer is a partial answer to your question #2. Web mail is available for many services, as you probably already know. In no case do I like it as well as the mail client of my choice, but it may be a good option for your client PCs.

I've seen other people mention "proxy" programs that do ICS, but that may be one too many proxies for your situation.
