Q: Laptop warranty transfer from USA to India

Hi,
This is Manish Kumar. I bought Dell laptop from Olympia, WA last year. Now I am in India and I am facing some issues which I think are related to the hardware. Is there any way that I can transfer laptop warranty to India so that I can get it repaired at the Dell service center here in India?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

If you purchased the system with an onsite warranty (extra cost), yes - it can be transferred. If you did not, you must upgrade to an onsite warranty at extra cost before it can be transferred.

Guys I am from India I want to buy a laptop

I want a laptop that should have 4 or 3 GB ram and 500 gb hard disk, 1 gb graphic card and i5 processor. I wanted to buy it from dell but I don't know which brand is the best because i use desktop.

And the price should be between 35ks to 45ks.

Unless you know someone in the US who can order for you and ship, no - Dell won't ship internationally.
Even then, remember that the warranty applies to the country of purchase - you'll have to transfer ownership and warranty when you receive the system.

I had a Dell laptop Inspiron 15 3000 Series (Inrel(R)) - 3543, I purchased it from US. I have sent that laptop to my house in India and it got stolen from there. I launch a Police complaint there with the serial number I got from Dell support team. but now, Police is asking me some mac id (I do not know what it means), so my question is where can I get this id ?

I think that they are referring to the mac address ID of the onboard network card. But we do not have those. All we provide is the service tag number and express service code number. Which are found on the laptop itself and your Dell invoice.

Could you kindly confirm that if an International Ownership Transfer Form is correctly submitted on arrival in UK then the Warranty provided via Dell Outlet Australia will be honoured by Dell UK.

Okay so I had bought an alienware alpha on ebay. It worked okay up until a little while ago. I contacted support to try and get it repaired. Was told i needed a warrenty transfer from the previous owner to myself. Its still in warrenty for 35 more days through dell.. I contacted chat and they said they transfered the tag to my name. So then I called support back since the tag was supposdely in my name now. Low and behold right before they were going to order a new mother board for it. The support agent (phone) says that the warrent still was not in my name as I was told before that it was, and that she cant do it unless its in my name. Soo yeah im stumped now.
So again, initially I tried to do the online warranty transfer even though all I know about the person I bought it from is the two invoices that I got from ebay and paypal of the purchase that was a few months ago ( I bought it used originally). I just put that info in but still no response... I emailed the seller and still no response. 
The funny thing is that the guy I talked to on live chat said it was all in my name now. Yet when I called in by phone, the lady said that it wasnt letting her submit the request to get the motherboard swapped out. and that it (the previous owners warrenty) was "mostly blank". Yet when I tried to register it is says its already registered...and wont let me put my info.  IDK im so confused. I just want my machine to have a new motherboard (freezing issues, its complic... What are problems to transfer my files from 4 year old 702X laptop to similar running windows 7 (bought through yourselves. EASY TRANSFER quoted within your software. In this case we would suggest you to go online to the Dell website and configure the system at  your cost .
In terms of how long windows 7 will be support ? You will get support as long as the system is under warranty .
If the system is not under warranty you will still get support however it will be paid.

Take time to review coverage and limitation :
" Lenovo makes no commitment that the same method of service purchased in the original country will be provided in the destination country. Service procedures vary by country, and some service and/or parts may not be available in all countries. Lenovo will use commercially reasonable efforts subject to support capabilities within the destination country to obtain parts. Some countries may have fees and restrictions that apply at the time of service such as packaging, shipping and handling fees "
 
On my end, I tried using the model as some may not be marketed on some regions using the international warranty look up page.  Listed location would include UK and you can call in Lenovo UK 0333-777-3991 for details .

I bought this laptop on ebay new for my mother and had kept it in my closet for a few months. I gave it to her as a gift and a few months later i was watching her use it and noticed she was repeatedly shutting down the laptop and turning it back on, i asked why? She said the internet wouldnt work unless she did that multiple times. So i had a look at it and made sure all of the drivers were installed (they were) and counldnt find out why it was doing it other than a hardware issue (possibly) So i asked her where the warranty was tried to see if i could get hp to take it back, but the warranty said it has expired. She didnt use this thing for a year, i kept it in my closet for months..is there some way hp takes in certain cases and looks past the warranty date?  I cant really afford to buy her another nor can she and she is stuck with this thing. The laptop is still in very good condition we just need the internet to work on it. Is there anything that can be done?

I would prefer that one. Page 19 Manual  Not many online sellers are ready to send it to Spain. 4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 740715-001 : Ebay , Ebay 3rd party Spain3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 746641-001  Using 3rd party battery is not recommended, but if it good company I would go with it considering no other online sellers are ready to send genuine HP part to your place.   Regards Visruth

Hey Lenovo, I don't wanna say this but I am having a worst experience with Lenovo Product. There's a saying, first impression is the last impression and lenovo failed it in. Ok let's take a look at my problem and please help me. 2 months ago I buy a Lenovo Ideapad Y700-26ISK from local shop in Pakistan with 1 Year International Warranty. After 1 month my screen start flickering and It end up continuously flickering when I press the power button. See the screenshot below.???I take my laptop to the shop from where I bought it, He says it's the ram problem you have to change the ram. After paying $40 for the single 8GB ram my laptop just work fine for 2 days and then it's start doing that flickering again and after 4 to 5 hours I reopen my laptop, it's just boot for 2 second and then reboot that loop continuously again and again even I cannot see the lenovo logo. Then I take it to the same shop and he says you have claim your warranty and according to him I have to send my laptop from Pakistan to USA for claiming and repairing process which will be $150 and in which he cannot do anything. All I am worry about, is there any service center in Pakistan so i can take my laptop to there to solve my issue because when I buy a laptop I paid additional $50 for 1 Year International warranty. I can say that Dell and HP are the best company who produces best products and I am one of the user of Dell and HP and I never have a problem with their products and they also op... Hi, You will not lose your warranty but (since you did not tell us this info) depending on the model you probably will not have any driver support for windows 7, so any issues which you will have due to lack of drivers will not be solved by acer. You will need to find drivers for all the components in the system by yourself. And I am expecting to be the case in your situation, since you bought it quite recently, and recent models of notebooks come with windows 10 support.

By mistakely some water spilled on my HP Laptop (Pavilion G6) and now it is showing water on screen and looks like screen is damaged. I immediately turn it off and havent check yet so I dont know other things are working properly or not.  My laptop is new in warranty period so does HP provides water damage protection in warranty period? Can you replace it with new one or can you repair it. I have heared that HP provides water damage protection like others do. Thanks.

From the HP Accidental Damage Protection page:"You can purchase this plan during the HP standard warranty period. Buy your plan at the same time you purchase your HP product to get the most coverage and value. Because accidents are unavoidable, and the costs associated with them can really add up." It looks like it can be purchased during the standard warranty and would cover incidents of damage while the coverage is in place, or damage that happens after you purchase the extra coverage.  This might be good information for your next purchase.Thanks,

Power port where the power cord attaches broke. A simple and definitely 'hardware' problem. Laptop still under warranty (until September 2016). It couldn't be recharged but I used it as the battery drained - took latest backups, and used it for some functions before boxing it up and sending it in. Fully functioning with no issues when it went in the box they sent. Support calls me to say there is liquid damage to motherboard. Umm...no there isn't. At least there wasn't when I sent it in. I got on a call with a Case Manager ('James') who said they could repair mother board for a bit over $400. I said there was nothing wrong with motherboard unless they caused the damage. A little while later he emailed with an offer of 50% less than his original quote. Didn't research the state it was delivered in, just looking to get cash.   Next day I got a call that warranty was invalidated, contradicting what James had said and the email from him. HP can't get the story straight, and is dancing around honoring the warranty. Already been without laptop over a week and they have offered no resolution. I've sent a number of emails in response to his, and nothing back.

Laptop has bricked. No signs of life except for the PSU making a beeping sound. Have tried removing and reinserting battery. sir my charger is not working and i'll have to buy a new one. i want to know that the new charger which i would buy would have warranty even if my warranty period of laptop expires?? I mean would it be under new warranty?? Since i know now laptop chargers and batteries are not covered under warranty beyond 1 year, does the new charger would have the warranty for next 1 year ??

Hello I just bought a refurbished laptop from staples and i'm wondering, do I have a one year warranty. It says it in the page but the staples manager told me to get a 1 year warranty from them because I don't have a warranty. Take note the page says "The warranty is covered by the manufacturer for 1 year" but Staples says I don't have a warranty.
