Preferred Solution: Java Error or Windows Error || Help!!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I've having a few problems that apparently may be related.

1) Vista Backup stops with Catastrophic error 0x8000FFFF.

2) A search on error 0x8000FFFF says that it may have something to do with Java.

3) Java's site says that I don't have Java installed.

4) Downloading Java ends with a Java error 25099, the zip file wont unzip properly?

5) Explorer closes down frequently and has to re-start.

6) Java is in the "Program files" but not registered in Control Panel un-install programs?

So, what does all this mean and what can I do about it?

How do I find out if I have Java working on my PC? Why wont the Java download unzip?

The only option I can see is to un-install Java from Program Files manually, do a Registry Repair and then start over with trying to install Java again.

I'll do this but I thought that someone may know something else about this that would be important to know.

So, does anyone know anything else about this and what to do?

Alrighty. See, when I go to Aethereality.net, and I go to view their gallery, a BUNCH of their images are broken links. I tagged at the board, and saw that others were experiencing this as well. They were all told to update cookies, and I didn't quite know how to do that. So, I tried to update java, for her images work through java. And well, that didn't quite work out so well.

You see, my laptop was telling me of how there was a java update, so I clicked on it, and when I told it to install, it didn't. I found that rather odd, and I simply don't know why it's doing that. Also, when I downloaded LimeWire, THAT wouldn't work because my Java isn't updated. When I click on the java icon, nothing happens. I deleted LimeWire because that refused to open now, as well.

A friend of mine told me to delete java, then reinstall that. However, that attempt failed miserably. I tried to reinstall it, but it didn't work.

Now onto opening 'My Music'. It's not just with 'My Music', but with 'My Documents', 'My Computer', etc etc. When the 'report error' message comes up, I click 'Debug', and it opens again. I mean, that's the easy way out, but I want it stopped for good.

I've run Norton AntiVirus, and Ad-Aware. I'm clean, as far as they say.

Can anyone help me?

It may not mean anything important. Possibly, it is something remaining from an old program that no longer exists.

Have you recently installed an updated version of Sun Java? Are you having any problems with Java in your browser that you are aware of?

In any case, if you could post the contents of your autoexec.bat file, we may be able to eliminate the message.

To do that, you will need to have hidden files visible. So do that in Folder Options if you don't have them visible.

Then, open My Computer, click on the C: drive, and find autoexec.bat. Right-click it and choose "Edit". Copy the contents and paste them here.

I was recently helped by someone in the Malware forums deleting viruses. I have tried over and over updating Java, Windows Update through IE and even installing Kaspersky and I keep getting this error

The Windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed.

Note* I have not been running this under safe mode.

I'm not sure what the problem could be, can anyone help? or have any ideas? I know i need these programs running to prevent any further viruses/malware getting into my computer.

Every time I startup lately I get the following Windows popup:

Windows cannot find: C:\programfiles\java\jreg\bin\jusched.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again.

I suspect this was caused by a Java update, but really don't care. So far I haven't had any Java supported programs fail or anything, but I'd certainly like to get rid of this repeat error message.

Any ideas? Thanks,

I have to admit to being completely at a loss with my new laptop. A friend set it up for me before leaving me to figure out the rest. Currently, I am trying to download java which I discovered that I don't have when my little brother came over and immediately tried to play online games.

I downloaded the java installer from http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_manual.jsp?locale=en&host=www.java.com:
and, following their instructions, downloaded the offline installer, closed my firefox and tried to open the program.
The error I get is like this:

Java(TM) has stopped working
A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

My only option is to close the program, which I do. It doesn't give me any more information than that. I tried downloading the online installer and that did the same thing. I've checked my firewall but it doesn't appear to be blocking anything.

Really I'm just not sure what this means or what I should do about it...

Can anyone help me?

Hello to everyone!

I am currently experiencing this Java problem that I only encounter when updating my Vuze Bittorrent Client. I am just updating it to newer version but every time I try, the error pops up. The complete error is:

"An error occurred: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException"

After clicking OK button, the setup ends. And when I re-try to install the update, the Vuze Installation Wizard will show this message:

"The installer did not start up correctly on the last run. This is probably caused by a corrupted Java VM. Do you want to download or manually select the JVM?"

When I choose YES, the installer will download the file but will fail and will show the Java error. When I choose NO, the installer will proceed normally but will show the same Java error.

I manually update my Java to the latest version which is Version 7 Update 45 but problem still persists. I checked my Java version by going to https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp.

If you have questions, feel free to ask. I need your help on this since I'm a bit cautious when dealing with this Java since I don't know much about it.

Thanks in advance!

A:Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Well; first thing i would try is completely uninstalling Java; and then reinstalling it. Then;(make sure any files retrieved from the bit torrent client are backed up if possible) uninstall the bit torrent client and reinstall that. Try these things and report back and we can go from there if not solved.

A:Windows 7 64-bit java error, or windows Error?

I don't know if this can help, but in general you need both versions
of Java on your computer, e.g. for the latest update 45:
"jre-7u45-windows-i586" for 32-bit and "jre-7u45-windows-x64" for 64-bit.

You can get both versions from the Java download page here:
Java Downloads for All Operating Systems

Second, looking at your System Specs, I see that you use Norton Internet Security.
I would try to deactivate it, just to make sure that it is NOT causing that problem.
Sad to say, but today Norton can be a real troublemaker, as you can read in
several posts in this Forum.

Warning (just to be on the safe side) :
Don't use the Internet while your Security program is deactivated !
Good luck,

I've had lots of problems with this desktop, and have wiped it twice. I now cannot run some programs, and found it's due to an older version of Java. Was told to get an updated version.

In following instructions, I was frustrated to find I could not remove the Java program that's in my Add/Remove Programs. It's Java 2SE, or some such thing. I get "Windows installer cannot do this, yada, yada, and that it's probably likely due to being in Safe Mode or not having Windows Installer properly installed. Contact System Administrator. Right.

I have downloaded Java 6, also. Tried, that, same result.

I found these forums on a Google search and saw the same result from someone else....and the advice was to remove the old Java first. I can't do that.

So what can I do?

According to official site of Oracle, This is a known issue with Microsoft KB2918614The root causes of these errors are under investigation. If this error still persists after uninstalled this update.
You could try following zooeyhall?s suggestion to download and install a previous version of Java or try creating a new administrative user account and install Java with the new account.

I'm on a new computer, Windows 7 64-bit, and I'm having some issues with Java. I've seen a couple of error messages from programs that refer to Java (one referred to JavaScript specifically), but when I've tried to research it, it seems like all's well with Java on my system.

I went to the Java site, and today it said there's an update, so I downloaded it. It said nothing about first uninstalling anything, so I assumed that's not necessary. While the installer was running I got an error message:

error copying file to c:\windows\SysWOW64\npDeployJava1.dll

I clicked OK and the installer just kept going, then told me it's all installed, which seems weird if there's an error and some file may be missing.

I really don't know anything about Java. I know that lots of programs require it be installed, but I have no clue what sort of programs need it and why. Really, this particular program is largely a mystery to me.

How do I figure out if it's functional? Should I have uninstalled it before updating? I've looked at that option, but in my Programs there are three things listed named Java, and I have no idea if any or all of them are relevant: Java(TM) 7 Update 1 (64-bit), Java(TM) 7 Update 5, JavaFX 2.1.1

Update 1 evidently came with the computer, because it was installed in March, before I had it.

There are also a couple of items named Java in my Firefox Plugins: Java Deployment Toolkit 10.... Read more

I download the system readiness tool, found here:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3132
I tried a clean boot.
I tried renaming the Windows Update Softwaredistribution folder.
None of this worked.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

You may not need it. Try disabling it.

Depress ctrl+alt+delete

In the processes tab, locate java.exe, select it and terminate the process. If the problem stops and it does cause another error to occur go into Services from the Control Panel and disable it so it is not started at Startup.

This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

This is not really a Vista problem, so once I figure out what you are trying to do, I'll try to move this to the right place. IS this an online application that you are trying to use? Can I assume that you are supposed to be uploading a file to that website? And it is when you upload the file (which I am assuming contains grades), that you get the error?

All the error is saying is that it was expecting the input, presumably the file you were trying to upload, to be in gzip format. And since it wasn't, it just gave up because it didn't know what to do. Aside from the fact that this is a crappy way to handle errors (clients should never see the error stack trace....), have you been able to use this before, or is this something new?

GZip is just an archiver, like winzip or winrar. If you are required to upload your contents in a particular format, the instructions should spell out what you have to do.

Oh, and the error is on their end. You may have accidentally caused it, but the error messages you are seeing are a result of what is happening on their server. What you should have gotten was some nice message that stated that your file needed to be in a gzip format, and then provided a link to a set of instructions.

I was trying to download Java SDK because I'm very interested in learning Java, and when the installation gets about half way through, the installation freezes (not the computer, just the installation), then, like 1-2 minutes later I get an error saying that I don't have this one file in my temporary internet files (I forget what file it is)... Did anyone else have this problem?

Every time I try to play my Pogo UK games I get a message from Java that says:

"This application requires an earlier version of Java. Do you want to continue?

The required version Java, 1.6.0-oem is not the latest and may not contain the latest security updates"

This is annoying and I have to hit run 3 times before games will load.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

I have looked at different web sites but none seem to give the answer to resolve it. I have Win7 64bit. It has only happened in the last three weeks. It does mean that certain software won't work and that is impeding my work on my book. Which is holding me up. And I am having problems with accessing certain web sites

A:Java error

Just to add my problem is 32 bit and not 64bit. When I download the 32bit it states there is an error. And I can't work that one out. I deleted all Java but the 32 bit is the part with the problem. I tried to load a software for mind mapping and this is what it stated:

Hope it makes sense to someone and then we can make sense of how to resolve this dam problem

I've been having trouble with Java lately... Whenever I try to start a Java application, my internet browser (Internet Explorer) closes, and an hs_err_pid file is saved on my desktop. Each time, a different error is saved, so I can't tell what the problem is. Can anyone help me?

By the way, I have updated Internet Explorer (after the problem started), downloaded the latest Java Runtime Environment, and even reinstalled Java. What else can I do?

(Also, this is my first post. What's up, everybody?)

My father has dispatched me to fix a laptop error and I find it rather perplexing, it's Java related, so I hope I posted this in the proper forum - if not I apologize. Here's the error I'm getting:

sun.plugin.cache.JarCacheVersionException: Number of attributes specified in 'cache_archive' doesn't match those in 'cache_version'
at sun.plugin.cache.JarCacheUtil.getJarsWithVersion(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.initJarVersionMap(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.createClassLoader(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.appletInit(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.viewer.LifeCycleManager.initAppletPanel(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.viewer.IEPluginObject$Initer.run(Unknown Source)

The very last line could be inaccurate, it may have been IE or Internet Explorer, I'm taking that error string from another forum, it was for Netscape, this one is for Internet Explorer. I could be mistaking the fix I found, so if I am, please advise me what the correct one is and how to fix it.

Here's what I found on another forum:

We have reproduced the caching problem and found the resolution: Replace the lines of code in iuembed.js file (there are two such lines of code):

Try JRE 1.5.9

I guess you might have already solved the problem, but just in case I found the same problem and got the same solution in another forum, for a product called Auriga (which is not the one we've got).

Reading that article I believe that the script iuembed.js is a propietary development, and what really matters are the lines of code in the java script that tries to do whatever you are trying to by calling the method getEmbedParamHtml.

However, in my case, the problem arose when we updated the Java Runtime Engine, from version 1.5.9 to 1.6.0. Rolling back solved the issue.
