Everything Doesn’t Work: Kernel Data Error, .dcll, And More!

Q: Everything Doesn’t Work: Kernel Data Error, .dcll, And More!

Essentially, everything is wrong with my computer and I have no way to fix it. The first problem arose about a year ago. My laptop battery suddenly wouldn?t register any charge, and could only be used while plugged in. I thought that might be a battery issue, but, a few months later, I replaced the battery and still had the same issue. Next, I started getting the ?blue screen of doom,? the Kernel Data Inpage Error. My laptop began to consistantly stop working after a few hours of use: webpages would stop loading, files wouldn?t open after being clicked, and then the mouse and screen would become unresponsive. Most of the time, I turn the computer off, unplug it, and restart it to resume use. However, if I left the computer on, it would either give a black screen reading ?all boot options are tried,? or the blue Kernel Data Inpage Error screen (the Kernel Data Inpage Error is the rarer of the two). It would last longerer the less I used it and after repeated sessions of rebooting after freezing, it would only last a few minutes. It also took a while after startup before it could open programs or load websites, but besides this, it still functioned as a proper computer, so, while frustrated and constantly attempting to find a solution, I dealt with it. However, recently, it?s begun to have errors opening any program not factory installed with windows or Google Chrome (I have no idea why Chrome, other browsers won?t open). Originally, I received an error box that a .dll file was missing and downloaded a replacement file. While I believed that would fix the issue, I only received an updated error:

?The procedure entry point RtllsProcessorFeaturePresent could not be located in the dynamic link library

Defeated, I decided to just factory reset my computer and be done with it. However, when I tried to refresh or reset it, it said that I needed to insert windows installation media. As commanded, I ordered a windows system disk for my specific computer. When I inserted the disk and tried to reset my computer, it said that the installation media couldn?t be used. I tried to install windows directly from the boot menu. It said that the windows drive is locked. /sfc scannow detects problems, but can?t fix them.

I have tried so many internet forums and found no fix.

I have a Samsung ATIV Book 4 running Windows 8.1

I've attached photos of some of the screen's I've gotten.

Everything doesn?t work, but I definitely can?t afford a new laptop. If anyone has any ideas on what to do to fix this, please help. I am utterly defeated and desperately need it.

Preferred Solution: Everything Doesn’t Work: Kernel Data Error, .dcll, And More!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This is the third time that this has happened so I'm in need of some help.

It always happens when I'm scanning my laptop with AVG or SAS. I would get the blue screen of death saying there's a bad sector and it has something to do with the kernel fault checker data or something like that but Windows fixed it. So then I try the chkdsk /f thing and reboot again so I think everything is fixed. The error doesn't happen consecutive times but enough to know there's a problem.

Any help please?

Occasionally, the computer will freeze up and make the "dieing" clicking noise, with the hard drive working furiously. Usually, I preform a hard reset, but on two occasions, I let the computer run, and I recieved similar blue screens of death, with the hard drive access light solid.

The first:
...(usual info on what may have caused error, how to start safe mode, etc)
*** STOP: 0x0000007A(0xC03E11F0,0xC000000E,0xF847CC22,0x009A2860)
*** atapi.sys-Address F847CC22 base at F846D00, DateStamp 3db88971

The second:

*** ftdisk.sys-Address F85F1642 base at F85E7000, DateStamp 3b7d8419
Beginning dump of physical memory.

On the next occasion, I was trying to replicate the error after a day of no trouble, and did so by entering standby mode, then starting the computer back up. Surprisingly, I got this after saving a file(which, btw, didn't save)

*** STOP: 0x00000077(0xC000000E,0xC000000E,0x00000000,0x009520000)
Beginning dump of physical memory.

After the error messsage, the computer auto-restarts, and runs really slowly, requiring a shut-down, wait a minute, start-up

According to microsoft, the second parameter in each of these is the status (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...d_stp_fvlq.asp), and 0xC000000E is STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE. I have run mulitiple test... Read more

I'm getting BSOD during normal use (whether it be web browsing or during a game). Memtest86 got 0 errors in 4 passes. CrystalDiskInfo and SSDlife both say that my drives are "healthy." CPU temps tend to hover between 40-60 degrees Celsius.

I've attached the dump files as the forum rules stated. Since this could be a drivers issue, I included a drivers list as well.

Here are some dump analysis from WhoCrashed.

hi everyone.

my laptop has been crashing frequently since months ago. sometimes i get bluescreen (kernel data inpage error), sometimes it reboots automatically, and sometimes it freezes and the screen is filled with some grey/black weird horizontal lines and i have to reboot it.

i had reinstalled the windows a few times but the prob remains.

when i run in safe mode everything is fine.

also, everything is ok when i use battery, no reboot, bluescreen, etc...but the prob comes back once i plug in...seems like the prob only occurs when i use the power??

please tell me how can i solve this prob. it's really annoying! thx!

A:Kernel Data Inpage Error

I assume you're using Windows 7. The kernal data inpage error and running fine in safe mode make me think it is a driver problem. If you go into device manager (just search in start menu) and find Sound, video and game controllers and then let me know everything in that list. Usually by disabling one of these drivers your problem will be fixed for instance I have AMD High Definition Audio Device disabled - this solved my problem of the Blue screens.

Recently my computer has been blue-screening every so often producing the following error (from system logs). It's a Kernel in-page data error.

So here is my story I decided I decided to update from windows 7 to windows 8.1 however now I often get the blue screen of death with the warning of kernel_data_inpage_error. I already tried doing a fresh of instal of windows several times and that didn't help at all, usually keeps the windows stable for about a week or two at max. I have already done a hard drive check up so i know it isn't the hard drive. So you might think the next logical thing to check is either the ram or mother board however I don't think it's a hardware fault because the error usually happens when I am watching flash content or when flash ads appear. Mostly happens when watching stuff on YouTube and twitch, usually sometimes the computer starts lagging or even becomes unresponsive for a few minutes. Funny thing if I play games on it and push it to the max I don't get any errors at all.

Any advice?

Over the past couple of months, I have been getting a "Kernel Data Inpage Error" every other day. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium Edition on a 2-year-old Asus N53SN laptop. The issue really started when I upgraded the RAM to 16GB (from the pre-installed 4GB). I have since returned the RAM and reinstalled the original RAM, but I am still getting the error. I believe the error code is 0x0000007A and the file is msrpc.sys. I have already run chkdsk c: /f /r, malwarebytes, spybot, and superantispyware, with minor finds. I have also "cleaned up" my PC as best I could (defrag, startup files, etc). Please advise.

Over the past 2 weeks now I have been receiving this blue screen error saying "KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR". I have run the chkdsk command and received no errors. Is my hard drive failing?? I NEED TO KNOW ASAP!!

Thank you for your help!!!

Hi, some reasons for Blue Screens
New hardware - software installed.
Device driver - Video driver - corrupted - faulty.
Faulty Ram - Overheating - Dying hard drive etc.

Post the Minidump files
Create a new folder on the desktop and call it dumpfiles [or something similar]
Look in c:\windows\minidump
Copy the last 4 minidump files to that folder.
Close the folder and right click on it and select Send To Compressed [zipped] Folder.
Windows will compress the file and then save the new zipped file in the same location.
Attach the zip folder by using the 'Upload a File' button.
Let us have some Pc specifications.

Hi All,

I've been reading through various postings here and thought it was time I join and get some HELP! I've read a few of the same types of problems, but I'm lost, and don't see exact similarities and have many questions, so please bear with me. I'm not sure if the techguy system check thing posted the info after my name or not? I'll have to click submit to see that.. but for now I won't type in computer info assuming its already 'there'.

I was having issues with my Dell all in one -- the computer would start up with this 'no bootable device, insert boot disk' message. I went through the dell forums and realized that my harddrive was 'done'. I would have to restart the comp various times and try to get it in safe mode, and randomly it would then start up.. only to have the same problem again (if i switched the comp off).

So I bought a new ssd (ADATA 500 series, 2.5" s510). Reinstalled windows. Everything was 'fine', until random events (and im starting to think its when I try to do ''too much at once") of the computer going to the blue screen of death - wtih kernel data in page error. The computer freezes first. For maybe 40-60 seconds, then the blue screen. Its too fast for me to see what it all says, but from other's posts and im sure it says at least this much:

For the last several days I have been receiving the dreaded blue screen on my laptop with the Kernel Data Inpage Error message. It has occured probably once a day for the last 4 days. After it occured the first time I completed a Windows Update of the Service Pack 3. I run the AVG 8.5 Free scan every day as well as check for the updates. For the last three days the history shows that the scan log is corrupted and that the scan has not finished properly. This has happend occasionaly in the past put not repetitively. I tried to run Ad-Aware and partially through it running I received the blue screen. I just tried to google Malware Bytes to download and while it was searching for the site it happened again. I use Windows XP. The technical information I received with the blue screen was as follows:

Stop: 0x0000007A (0xc07B9c10, 0xc0000185, 0xF7382D37, 0x3437A860)

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Yet another person with the same error I know. I've tried the suggestions in previous posts by other people and same thing. Even got it when i was installing windows on a new drive. I just bought a new board and processor never messed with any of the jumpers. Sometimes I can get it to run windows normal for a full night and other times it'll crash after a couple minutes after boot. Previous posts suggest that the problem is the hard drive, I dont think it is because i'm using the same hard drive on my old board right now and its fine. I also have problems getting the monitor to come on when i boot up, most of the time the hard drive is busy but i see nothing on the monitor. I'd appreciate any input that you guys could give, I dont want to take it in and have it looked at and pay if at all possible but that looks like the only thing to do unless I can solve it with your help.

So I started a new job recently, and I installed a new software for work. When I'm using the software at work, the computer seems fine. But when I reach home and just browse the web or running iTunes, the computer sometimes freezes and goes into the BSOD with a Kernel Data Inpage Error. I run anti-virus scans and registry cleaners often and they don't seem to be helping at all. Any and all help is appreciated!

A:Kernel Data Inpage Error

The usefulness of cleaning the registry is highly overrated and can be dangerous. In most cases, using a cleaner to remove obsolete, invalid, and erroneous entries does not affect system performance but it can result in "unpredictable results". Unless you have a particular problem that requires a registry edit to correct it, I would suggest you leave the registry alone. Using registry cleaning tools unnecessarily or incorrectly could lead to disastrous effects on your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again. For routine use, the benefits to your computer are negligible while the potential risks are great. What is the software that you installed? Please download BlueScreenViewNo installation required.Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program. When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

My Win 7 Acer Aspire 5534 laptop is suddenly acting weird, freezing up often and rebooting itself, and I've seen this screen upon reboot.

Recent history: The laptop got knocked off a table, onto hardwood floor.....impact was enough to knock keyboard loose.....space bar not working so well now. I managed to fit keyboard back in place a bit, but not totally, and removing this one does not seem so easy.(clips at top of keyboard).

Laptop seemingly worked fine, afterward, beyond keyboard. However, two days ago, while playing game, game crashed, and laptop acting oddly ever since, with these errors. That game will no long fully load. An Open Office doc I try to load freezes.

I read other posts and did see where jolt can cause connection issues? Could it be this, or hard drive failure?

Trying to upload minidumps, as well. Chk Disk ran last night, and took hours....hung up at 3% with many bad sectors.

More info: Never have been able to do a System Restore with this laptop. Never were any restore points.....tried in vain, a few years ago, to figure that out. If that matters.

Edit: I should add, Windows does load back up and Firefox works pretty well, so far. So, that helps!

Edit again: <removed>....messed up title of thread.....should have been Kernel Data Inpage

Hi, I've been getting kernel data inpage error recently. It doesn't seem to matter what I am doing at the moment when it comes but usually it is preceded by a long period of freezing. My computer has been experiencing small freezes occasionally and when i attempt to use a defragmenter, it always results in freezing at a certain percentage and may be followed by the error. Also, if you ask me for info and such it would be helpful to include how i would do so because i am very inexperienced in this. Thank you.

Your laptop officially only support Windows 7 so there is no driver download available on Asus support site. However we can install generic drivers from Intel as a test. Please download and install the below drivers and let me know whether it helps.

I encountered this problem a few days ago, backed up to an external hard drive, the entire system just freezes and then crashes with a blue screen flashing up the last message I saw was kernel input data error - the previous one was the dbgeng.dll error.I restored the computer from the three discs that I made when I bought the sony Vaio desktop.? This formatted the hard drives and reloaded the Vista Home operating system.? Less than 24 hours of normal use exactly the same thing happened again. Now it will try to boot but just freezes or says operating system not found.I have run the DDS scr & have the DDS text file and have attached this.Any advice please.Thanks.

So a few days ago I got a kernel data inpage error bluescreen. I ignored it, at first, thinking it was just a one time thing. Then it happened again. And again. So I ran memory diagnostics, found nothing, so I performed chkdsk /f /r /x. At first it seemed to get stuck at 13%, especially compared to actually getting there which took about a minute, it hung there at 13% for over half an hour. So I let it run overnight. Eventually, I guess, it finished and rebooted. So then I thought the problem was fixed. It appears not, I think. As now I'm getting these weird hangs. It won't let me do much but the screen is still moving. For example, if I am listening to music on windows media player it will still cycle through the composer and artist but I can't move to another window or anything. These crashes also happen when I'm playing a game. Any.. Reason for this?

my system has been running absolutely fine for the past year without issues until about 3 weeks ago. For the first time, I got a stop error about kernel data inpage error. it however could not save the dump for some reason.

my system is configured as SSD is the main boot drive for Windows and everything else (program files etc...) is redirected to the E: drive which is my RAID0.

I then had the same problem about 2 weeks ago. And now I have just seen it happen properly:

Hi all,

I am having trouble running Vista just about everyday. The screen freezes and after a variable time I get a blue screen. This is everything it says on the blue screen:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen then restart your computer. If this screen appears again then follow these steps.

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properlly installed. If this is a new installation ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need
if the problem continues disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as cacheing and shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to disable or remove components then restart your computer and press F8 and select advance options then safe mode.

As I am using my hard disk(160GB) from 4 years I found its health is 75% only by Hard disk sentinel software
Is there any relation between the hard disk health and Kernel Data inpage error,at the same time I am running two hard disks in parallel, the booting hard disk is 160GB and the other is 500GB which is recently brought.
My system information file is attached.

Thanking you!

A:Kernel data inpage error

Yes, a weak or failing hard drive can cause this problem. The older hard drives draw more power than the newer drives do. I imagine that that 160GB drive is older than 4 years now

This is my first post on a forum like this so please be gentle
I have an acer aspire S3 with Windows 8. Its about 3 months old and I've used it with NO problems until last night when the Kernel Data Error occurred and my computer restarted itself. Since last night this error has occurred 3 times in 12 hours.
Whats changed in the last 3 months?
1. The McAfee security trial has ended in the last 2 weeks.
2. 5 days ago I relocated to Russia ( I bought the laptop in the UK -my home country)

Windows 8 came with the computer, the only things I have installed within the first 2 months were Microsoft Office, and a CD that came with my panasonic digital camera, which I am presuming is safe and OK.

The error message occurs when I am streaming either a youtube video, or this weeks episode of breaking bad etc.
I do have a large amount of photos on the computer which I will transfer to my portable hard drive today to see if freeing space could be the problem.

I am a kindergarten/1st grade teacher and have to use my computer for teaching and REALLY dont want this happening next week when I get to school.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

And you did not subscribe? Uninstall it and run the McAfee Removal Tool. There is only a small chance it is causing your problems, but cleaning up now will save you from a networking problem later.

Make sure you have all Windows updates.

Deal with any issues in the Action Center.

In the Windows 8 Start screen type reliability, click Settings, and then select View Reliability History. In the resulting chart if you click a column you'll see additional detailed text below. Perhaps there will be some useful information here.

Hey. Been encountering this problem the past 2 days where I get the blue screen of death every hour or so. Upon restarting my screen goes into a weird white screen of death where I have to constantly reboot to get to the home screen and have a proper boot.
After an hour the problem returns.  I've done a chkdsk a few times and the problem hasn't be solved.
I did both malware bytes and sfc /scannow (which said some files were corrupted and couldn't be fxed). I uninstalled my video card driver and a few USB drivers just to see if that would fix things.
I've ran BlueScreen View and got these two reports if this means anything:

Hey everyone, I need your help!

The other day I was working on my laptop, just watching some videos when all of the sudden the screen froze and then the blue screen of death shows up...
it said Kernel data inpage error, and left me no choice but to turn off the computer and restart. The next day everything was fine, nothing happened. A day later it happened again, twice. I started looking for answers and did some of the things people suggested:

chkdsk /r , it scanned and when finished said 'disk is clean' or something of the sort, so I thought okay, next on the list.

I noticed that a lot of the updates for windows update failed, so I did that, but noticed they failed once again. Did it again two more times, and no matter what I did, they failed. I thought I'd leave it at that and come back to it later, somehow.

Days later, the whole 'kernel data inpage error' hasn't shown up again. But what did happen was, all of a sudden, the screen went black and when it came back, windows graphics were kinda weird... 5 sec. later it went back to normal. It hasn't happened again, either.

I took my laptop to a tech. service center and all they said was that I needed to format the HD, which I don't want to do because last time I did that with my other laptop it all went to hell. This is a fairly new laptop (2 years), I take good care of it, so I really don't know what I could be doing wrong. The only problem I might have with it is- it... Read more

I'll start off by saying that any attempt I've made at changing settings in order for the BSoD to give me a minidump has been a failure. Any time the BSoD comes up, the error report gets stuck at 0% indefinitely.

This error has been popping up daily for a little over a week now, right after I upgraded my GPU, CPU, and CPU fan. The error does not appear to have any triggers as it happens either when the PC is under load or when it is idle with no programs open. I've monitored temps to make sure the CPU fan was correctly installed and the CPU never goes beyond 40C.

I've run Chkdsk which resulted in no errors.
I've run windows memory diagnostics which resulted no errors.
I've run sfc /scannow which found an errors that it could not automatically fix. I do not know how to find the error in the log file.

A:Kernel data inpage error

Give this a try. The file was created by kronckew, one of our colleagues. Tested it on my Laptop, and it worked!

Boot to Safe Mode.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
Right-click the Command Prompt, and select: Run as Administrator

At the Command Prompt, copy/paste (with the mouse) the following text inside the code box below, and press: Enter

@echo off
rem delete old files
del /q %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log
del /q c:\sfcdetails.txt
rem run sfc
sfc /scannow
rem filter out non essential junk from the cbs.log
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >c:\sfcdetails.txt
rem open details in notepad
notepad c:\sfcdetails.txt
rem optional command to shut down & restart pc after running. this may be needed if
rem sfc replaces some critical files. uncomment (remove the 'rem') to activate.
rem shutdown -r

When sfc is done, a file named sfcdetails.txt appears.
Please save the sfcdetails.txt file to the Desktop, and post it in your reply.

To run the program a second time, open the Command Prompt, right-click and select: Run as Administrator

This time, type in the following:

sfc /scannow
Press: Enter

When done, a file named sfcdetails.txt appears once again.

Please save the file to the Desktop, as sfcdetails2.txt, and post it in your reply.

had this problem now for a couple of weeks, just randomly happens!

Not sure what specs you need but the basics:
OS:Windows 7
2.00GB RAM
HP Presario CQ61 Notebook

attached 5 most recent minidumps.. havent got a clue what could be causing it myself! tried updating drivers to no avail.
usually stays on for about 20-25 mins before crashing, everytime i try to go on the laptop normal..works alright in safe mode tho

A:Kernel inpage data error

Although the KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR error cited in all but one dumps points at varying issues. In this case as the second parameter is cx185 it is a pretty reasonable indication that your hard drive may be faling or HDD data cable may have some issues, although the latter is less likely to be the case. I would suggest you to check the make/model of your HDD through Device Manager, then go to the site of its manufacturer and download HDD diagnostic tool to thoroughly check it.

I have an HP Pavillion Entertainment wireless laptop/Windows XP. Over the last week, I randomly receive a blue screen that says "kernel data inpage error" that disappears before I can read the other text.

It attempts a reboot, then during that another screen pops up that says " unmountable boot volume" and again tries to reboot.

I then get a screen of safe mode choices with normal highlighted, and a numberic countdown. Doing nothing, it reboots again.

Finally I get an "apology screen" and my computer starts in a seemingly normal fashion until it randomly repeats this entire process, minutes or hours later. (It is occurring more and more frequently...such that I am afraid it will sometime not come up at all.)

I don't know if this is helpful information to add, but I have gotten a memory warning and internet automatic closure before. And my sound has been acting strangely too. Hit/miss.

After getting the memory warning, I went into C and got rid of files that were unused.

Obviously, I am up now, but who knows for how long???

So, I get the blue screen of death every two hours-ish. This started happening ever since yesterday, when it was rebooting every two minutes, then I uninstalled everything I had installed last week and now it happens every two hours.

I was using my computer and thought I might have heard a quick beep but nothing happened so I wasn't sure if I was just hearing things but then perhaps 5 minutes later I got a blue screen with a message saying my computer had to shut down and restart. It said I could get more information about why it was doing this ny checking on line for kernel_data_inpage_error (msrpc.sys).
I googled it and the first suggestion was to run a virus scan which I did and didn't have any viruses. It then suggested running chkdsk but I'm not really sure how to do that. Is that the next step I should be taking?

Hi -

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR = bugcheck 0x7a ("BCCode" above).

Also listed is exception code 0xc0000185 = STATUS_IO_DEVICE_ERROR.

The BSOD is listing an I/O error with your HDD as the probable cause.

Assuming you have an HDD and not an SSD. . .

Run chkdsk /r

Run HDD diags - SeaTools for DOS, LONG test - http://www.techsupportforum.com/2828431-post7.html

This was written on the screen:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow this steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any window updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
