I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I updated my laptop BIOS yesterday, downloading the file from Lenovo's website. The update went well, and the laptop restarted correctly after it. Then I shut down the lapotop after using it. Today, when I switched it on, I had just the image with the write LENOVO word on it, and the circle below it running as usual. It is maybe one hour that there is this screen on. any tips?

Unfortunately someone has set a bios password on a laptop and i do not know the password. does anyone know of a way to remove or reset the password? Reason being is they have also set the boort to eufi and i need to change it to Legacy to allow the laptop to boot but can not enter the bios to do so. thanks Stuart

A:Lenovo V110-151SK - Lost Bios Password

Unfortunately there is no master password or magic "back door" which can be used to reset a forgotten or unknown  BIOS password.  Laptops are designed that way to prevent thefts.  If you do not know the BIOS password then your only alternative is to replace the motherboard.  Sorry.

Lenovo V110-15IKB Model 80TH with Windows 10 Home.Lenovo Vantage Program indicated urgent Bios update. Automatic Upgrade failed, I tried over 5 days again and again. Then I downloaded Bios update from Lenovo update page manually. Update failed again. Then I checked the files and detected wrong command in batch file. C:\2TCN32WW\install.bat must be edited to just contain this line only:start "C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe" call winflash.batAfter changing the the wrong line to the proper one, the installation worked perfectly. Regards, Chris

Hi,  I'm currently running BIOS 2TCN32WW.  The machine seems to be having some issues with recovering from sleep/standby.  Very irritiating.  I'm hoping that a BIOS update might fix it.  However, running the BIOS update package through Vantage or via the downloaded file doesn't work.  Everything runs okay to the point where it is supposed to start flashing then the screen goes blank and nothing happens.  I've left it like that overnight and no change in the morning - so time isn't the problem.  Turning it off with the power button and on again and it comes to life.   Any ideas on how to get the BIOS update to run please?  Wish Lenovo would provide a version you can run from USB...  Thanks

Best to try the Safe Mode to get into Windows and track this problem. Tap the Function 8 key when you start the machine and if you see "Disable automatic restart on system failure", highlight that one and hit Enter. If that isn't there, try Safe Mode with Networking.

Hi, all. New member here. I was updating my friend's laptop using the automatic driver update on the lenovo site and there was a bios update listed, it installed all drivers and then the BIOS. After the BIOS update the laptop has been in an infinite boot loop, and I've tried everything. First I thought it was the HDD, but I tested it and it's not I even placed another one in.I took out the CMOS battery for a few minutes, took out the laptop battery, tried the whole hard reset thing and the Pin Button on the Side (Novo Button) and it just boots up the laptop, shows the Lenovo Logo and literally crashes in the same second and reboots again, I can't access the bios or anything. I tried F12, F10  plus power button, Fn plus R plus Power Button, holding the power button, I don't know how to reset the BIOS. Another thing is that the laptop clicks whenever it crashes and boots up again (a clicking/tick sound just once per crash). Please help.

So it's not a huge problem, but after updating the BIOS on my T480 from V1.17 to the current release V1.24 the Lenovo Vantage tool still reports (on lower right corner of screen) that I have BIOS V1.17 installed. The update installed normally and I have verified that V1.24 is installed Boot --> F1 --> reviewed installed version. I thought you guys at Lenovo might want to check it out. I do have the current version of Vantage installed (latest version offered by the Microsoft Store for Win 10 Pro): V 4.27.32.0

See below.  Basically Vantage "may not"  show current BIOS version.  It will eventually "catch up".  The data is cached.

Hello everyone! I ama new user and i am coming up with this post as I couldn`t find any kind of solution for my problem.Recently I decided to do a reinstallation of my operating system, which also previously was Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). The installation went as usual, and after finishing it I went on to install all the latest drivers from the Lenovo site, for my product. When getting close to installing almost all the drivers i`ve needed, i stumbled upon a new version of the BIOS amnd the drivers and sfotware recommended for my laptop, by the producer. So i proceeded to install the upgrade, restarted the computer when it prompted me to do so, but after the so-called restart the laptop did not boot up as usual. At first it was telling me to not do anything as the BIOS is being flashed and then it was telling me something about some sort of image processing, things that i did not understand at the time (i have never encountered anything like that). After that my screen turned black. I have not done anything for a few couple of minutes as i thought it was supposed to be like that, but then i just force shut it down and unplugged the AC adapter. When trying to boot it all up again, the only thing i got was a black screen and nothing else. After doing a little bit of research it appears that, somehowm i`ve managed to corrupt the bios on my laptop or something, and nothing else would work at this point. I tried to remove the BIOS battery and the ram and then put them all back, trye... Read more

I?m currently updating the BIOS of some Lenovo ThinkCentre M83 PC´s and I came across a problem. The Flash UEFI BIOS update (provide by Lenovo) worked almost perfectly on the first PC´s, despite it didn?t automatically open the console and started the flashing process.Anyways I did go on with my work. Almost all other PC´s had the problem that when the second phase (yellow font)/ afudos.exe imagefb.rom /defans /capsule /b /n /r /sp started the afuwin.exe stopped working (it crashed). It seemed like the Update wouldn?t get done this way so I decided to try it with the USB Flash method, also provided by Lenovo, but it also didn?t work. It says in the second phase ?15 - Error: Secure Flash function is not supported on this platform? Last but not least I tried to update the BIOS with the CD-ISO but when updating with this method it says that the BIOS-Version is too old. Some information about the system: ThinkCenter M83Type: 10BE0003GEOS: Windows 7 SP1 64bitBIOS-Revision: FBKT73AUSBIOS last Updated: 01.April.2014 Furthermore Information what I found out:BIOS-Revision seems to not matter (same version but some worked some not)Doesn?t matter if BIOS is set to UEFI only or Legacy onlySecure Boot also seems like it doesn?t matter if it´s on or notWhen the afuwin.exe crashes it only writes a return codeI use the update provided by this Page from Lenovo (Update: fbjycpusa)https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/de/de/downloads/ds035753 Thanks... Hi. I have a Lenovo B50-30 mode 80ES. It was set to require a password on startup starting with a capital "A". While experiencing charging problems, amongst other things, I updated the BIOS to 9CCN35WW, downloaded from the Lenovo support site. Since updating, the laptop no longer asks for a password on startup (No big deal, I applied a windows password), however, when pressing F2 to access the BIOS (which I need to do, the F keys are the wrong way round), it asks for a password, When pressing to strike a capital A, the laptop beeps and doesnt enter it. It wont accept capital letters anymore, therefore it wont accept the pre BIOS update password. I have referred the laptop to Lenovo service, including returning the laptop, and they have been nothing short of useless. They said they couldnt repair it under warranty because of "Marks, cracks, inappropriate treatment" and it would cost Ł255 for a replacement system board. I really couldnt see why I should pay for an issue created by their support system, so I asked them to return it unrepaired. Upon arrival, the laptop was immaculate, so I dont know what damage they were referring to. Is it possible to downgrade the BIOS to a pre update revision, to change the password and then reset it to one the new BIOS approves of? Thankyou in advance.

Hi.  I downloaded the bootable disk iso and made an image but it was the Ku one for the 14" widescreen r61i.  I've installed a t7500 and upped the ram to 4G which is the max for this older bios.  The older bios gives no boot order selection or anything it just says something about intel boot agent.  It will boot from CD rom(ultra drive).  My bio's date is 2007 on here.  I'm running windows 7 home premium on the laptop.   Did I download the wrong Iso given I've changed CPU's?  It boots and the menu says "1. read first, 2. Update System Program, and 3. Update model number."  It goes red and says not found and to enter the correct CD in the drive.  Do I need a different bios version than the Ku bootable iso now since it's no longer the original cpu?

Hi.I am looking for a caddy to replace the DVD drive of my V110. Are there any recommendations or things to watch out?I'd like to replace it with a SSD so that I can install OSX on the SSD and Win10 or Linux on the HDD. Once I bought such a caddy for my old Lenovo G560 but it froze right with BIOS startup.

I saw a smilar problem in Lenovo Z510. In order to solve the problem, caddy was removed and BIOS was restored to factory settings. After these changes, caddy with HDD could be installed again. AFAIK, there's no official caddy for your laptop. In Poland we have caddys from Zeta, which are quite good. I can't say what caddys are available in your country.
