BSOD Error struggling ALOT

Q: BSOD Error struggling ALOT

System:

Microsoft Windows XP

Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Hewlett-Packard
Pavilion
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+
1.80 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

Along with the BSOD, I Get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

It usually goes off to blue screen in the middle of playing a fps game or when a lot of activity is going on my computer, but most of the time it seems it is random.

I'm going to add minidump files that you would be so kind enough to analyze and give me a
diagnostic of what my problem is and how i could fix the problem.

Preferred Solution: BSOD Error struggling ALOT

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

All the crashes are the same, and look to be sound related. See if updating the sound drivers has any effect. File info.

Hey!

I have this problem with my laptop for a week ago, I purchased this laptop (hp pavilion dv6 2170ee) 4 years ago. Now I'm currently using Windows 8.1 PRO on it. I recently upgraded my RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB (a year ago). I'm using this laptop for work purpose, graphics like 3ds max, Photoshop and Autocad.

Well the problem started by getting a lot of unexpected shutdowns with BSOD with random errors ..

here's what I wrote:

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
PFN_LIST_CO
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

the memory management error & IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error are the most appearing , although the memory management is the #1 error happens. This leads me to test my RAMS , I ran a memory check (windows memory check & bios memory check) both gave me no errors. I even replaced my RAMS with the ones which originally came with the laptop, same errors happened again. I tried booting in safe mode, at that time no errors occured , I though it might be the drivers , I uninstalled the graphic driver and restarted the system everything was fine until I tried to install windows updates, OS asks me to reboot ,after that system started and I didn't touch even the mouse ,it crashed with errors again

attached the zip file created via option 2 (SF Debug Tool)
EDIT: I tried also a clean install of windows 8.1 but still the errors occurs ! .... & sorry for my bad English..

Most of your dumpfiles point to Probably caused by : hardware ( nt!MiResolveTransitionFault+da ) and memory management.

You can get ahead start on the hardware diagnostics if you'd like - they are located here: Hardware Diagnostics

You are only using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter for your videocard.
Are there any problems with it?

Hi all, im new here as you can see and i'm sorry if this seems like a simliar post, but believe me ive been struggling for last few hours over internet on information and how to do things and getting in all kinds of trouble (i will admitt im not 100% best at computers), so here goes whats been happening with my new machine last few weeks.

2 weeks ago i had both monitors go black, then blue with the whole "prevent damage....etc" with code 0X00000116 (display drivers). It happend 3x times and that was just browsing normal on the internet, no games etc. The company of the computer told me to unistill catalyst programme and re-install. updated all windows, seemed to be fine from there on.

Few days later after the screen saver went off and monitors to black i noticed when moved mouse and come back on, it said "display drivers were not responding, but succesfully recovered" on the bottom bar, but i thought nothing of it and it seemed fine.

I now had today the BSOD again but this time code: 0x00000124 (uncorrectable hardware issue), i restarted, researched on internet and found some different answers.

after leaving the computer on as was downstairs on phone, come back to see screen saver went off and screens black, moved the mouse, but they just stayed black. NOTE: This has happened once before also. restarted as only thing i could do

last hour ive had BSOD once again with code: 0x0000019 (bad_pool_header).

Im puzzled now as to whats going on. as i speak ... Read more

A:BSOD - Struggling to understand

Please follow the instructions in this post to provide us with some information: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

Just FYI - the "display drivers were not responding, but succesfully recovered" message is usually indicative of a STOP 0x117 BSODish error. It's very similar to the STOP 0x116 error and we troubleshoot them the same way.

While waiting for a reply, please uninstall all the ATI video drivers from your system. Then use this procedure to install the DRIVERS ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If that doesn't help, then start by looking at this post (about troubleshooting the STOP 0x116/0x117 errors): STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting
You can also have a look at this one (about the STOP 0x124 error) - but I wonder if it'll be any help: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Finally, you can start running these free hardware diagnostics. I'd start with the memory test/Prime95 and the video tests: Hardware Diagnostics

How new is this machine? Is the system and/or the video card still under warranty?

Hi, this is my very first post at this forum

I`m struggling a little bit with Photoshop installed on my PC. When i start and closes CS6 before i start gaming my RAM free goes down very much, but when i don`t start CS before i start gaming, nothing happens.

I play MS Flight Simulator X and are struggling with BSOD ingame if CS6 have been runned one or more times after the startup.

Here are my RAM usage... With no Photoshop... Is this good or bad?

With Photoshop running it goes down to 2500 mb free, and my Flightsim needs max 2 gb. Could 500mb be to little for it to work with?

Beninho96

A:Is my RAM usage high? (Struggling with BSOD)

I think your RAM usage is good. According to your screen shot you've got 2717MB cached, 3824MB free, and 6262MB available. Windows 7 is a lot more efficient in allocating RAM compared to XP (and even Vista.)

Hi all, first post here!

I have recently bought a new quad PC and installed Vista Ultimate x64 on it. It installed fine, I activated it and started to get the updates through, after a few hours they were all installed successfully.

However, last night the Vista SP1 update appeared and I am a bit stuck! It says it is downloading but just stays on 0% for HOURS! Then, all of a sudden last night it climbled to 94%, stopped and I got an error from Windows saying the update has stopped working. I ran it again over night and got up this morning and it looked like it had finally downloaded as it was in the install process, asking me to press Next etc. I left it running but when I returned it said it had failed.

Now when I try to run it again, it seems to be stuck on 0% again. I have tried turning the firewall off but nothing happens.

Any ideas? Can it be downloaded manually and installed from somewhere else? Has anyone else had this problem?

Cheers
Tim

Hello everyone,

I have a Toshiba Satellie P750 (less than a year old) running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I've been struggling to fix my computer for 3 days and have no idea what caused the problem.

Here is the most recent issue:

My computer (finally) gave me the Repair Computer option after pressing F8 (presumably from my DVD-RW).

1. Startup Repair found no problems.
2. Computer still says it contains no restore points.
3. Ran the memory check--no issues found. However, after it was done and I logged in, it came up with a blue screen and a new error code:

STOP: c0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I was just trying to restore my computer from my WD Passport, but it doesn't show up as an option when I plug it into the USB port to find a system image from an external drive.

(My Passport did back up a ton of data--I don't have enough know-how to understand if I can use it to restore in this way.)

Please advise me how to proceed! I really appreciate the help.

Hi namelessjoker and Welcome.

Your latest dump file blames the sptd.sys driver.

The sptd.sys driver is notorious for causing BSOD's with Windows 7. It's used by Daemon Tools /Alcohol 120 which you'll have to uninstall.
Then use the correct (32bit or 64bit) download from Duplex Secure - Downloads to uninstall the SPTD.SYS driver.
Make sure to select uninstall!
Virtual Drives
Some alternatives to DT/Alcohol that do not use SPTD.SYS (In no order).
DVDFab
MagicDisc
PowerISO (The program is a trial but the drive emulation is free forever).
More details to follow after I've been through your dump files.

It all start 2 nights ago.. i was watching 12 angry men and when the movie was finished i decided to go to bed. Next morning i get up turn on my pc... go downstairs to get a drink. I get back to my pc and see its barely started up yet so i was like Hmm normally this doesnt take so long.. Found out it was just looping around because everytime it got onto my Desktop alot of Popups were coming up saying "Your pc is in bad shape click here for a scan!" or "Critical Error!Windows couldnt find any hard drive space!" Alot of fake Windows popups.. and 5/10 seconds later my screen would go weird and it crashes..
Booted up into safemode(with network) and everything worked like a charm.. Decided to download Ad-Aware/Spyware doctor. Couldnt install ad-aware because because i didnt had .net framework 4.0.. and Spyware doctor found like 14 threats but couldnt remove them because i didnt had it registered. So i "bought" some keys and some keys failed. and it said so in a pop up box that i entered the serial key wrong.. But i tested some keys with a friend of mine.. and found some keys which worked... Everytime i filled in 1 of the working keys my pc BSOD... instantly.. fill in the key.. press Register! and bam BSOD now after a couple of times of booting into safe mode i realised i couldnt get onto the internet anymore.. specs: amd phenom II x6 1055T
Asus M4A88T-M/USB3
Ati radeon hd 5770
4GB Ram (hyper x)
Win 7 home premium 32bit

When I first got my pc it worked great and I had no problems at all but after 2
months or so suddenly I began to get BSOD's and ever since then i had alot of BSOD's.. (i have had no hardware changes, only new drivers)
I had all sorts of bsods: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, BAD_POOL_HEADER/CALLER, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL...
Using the Bluescreenviewer I found out alot of them were caused by ntkrnlpa.exe. I've been searching over the webs in search for a way to fix my issues and alot of forums said that a faulty memory was the cause of the errors, so i ran
Memtest; but no errors were found.. I used tuneup uttilitys to clean up my registry and all and it also showed that my USB 3.0 hub wasnt working, so I searched for a new driver but mine was up to date, so since then i just disable that driver, but that also didnt help..
I also used WiseFixer to scan my PC and it showed almost 8000 "evidence" errors (i dont know what that means), but in order to fix them i had to buy the program.. (btw wisefixer gave me a score of 36/100 for pc health).

So now I dont know what to do anymore.. (I don't want to buy new RAM and then find out that it didnt solve the issue..)

My computer has the following specs:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1

8GB G.Skill ECO 1600Mhz
1GB Gigabyte HD 6850 graphics card
60GB OCZ Vertex SSD
320GB WD hard drive
2 x 1.5TB WD hard drives

I have never OC'ed this machine. I will point out that i did upgrade my video card not long ago (about a week before skyrim came out) and I also upgraded my ram from 4 to 8GB a couple of weeks before that. I am using the exact same brand and model of ram for all 4 sticks.

I've also attached several minidumps

I'm hoping that someone can look into these dumps and help me out with my problem!

Greatly appreciated for all the help in advance :)

Try uninstalling, and reinstalling the driver. Also, check for any driver updates.

Hello, firstly i would just like to say the motherboard i have now which is an asrock a55 pro 3, is brand new after i got it replaced due to setting overclock settings back to default and then the motherboard didnt work. Since ive had this new motherboard, ive had countless blue screens, all stating different things each time. Its not my RAM as i ran Memtest overnight last night and woke to find 7 passes and zero errors. The BSOD's have been happening extremely frequently, usually when im playing World of warcraft, but sometimes it happens if my computer isn't doing anything, e.g just browsing the internet or doing nothing at all. I have updated my graphics card drivers and still get the blue screens. can anyone help?

My system specs are:
windows 7 x64
asrock a55 pro3 motherboard
4gb of RAM
ati radeon 5450 graphics card

If you can get anything from this, please help. Is it possibly the drivers or just that i have an ati graphics card on an nvidia chipset motherboard?

- the original installed OS on the system? Yes
- an OEM or full retail version? OEM

- What is the age of system (hardware)? ~ 5 Months
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) ~ 5 Months

Thanks NexPB.

A:I'm getting alot of BSOD errors.

Hello nexpb,

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (probably a driver).
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!
Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using ... Read more

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

I replaced ntfs.sys with a clean one. I can get into safemode fine, but it bsod's too after a while..with like 0x50 I believe.

I have flashed the bios, physically tested the ram and also used the windows utility.
I have changed the power supply from a 450 to a 500, the only thing I have on the comp is a vid card and hard drive.
I have uninstalled flash and reinstalled.
I have updated video drivers.
I have replaced the power switch/ tower.
I can be online all day and even play video games.
There is not a heat issue, I have checked with software and a non contact thermal sensor and all temps are within tolerance.
I have attached my sf diagnostic file in hopes someone can figure this one out.

Hello, thanks for any help i can get with this.

Erlier today I got a BSOD. I thought it was a fluke, then i got another. And another.
And about 30 more today probobly. while trying to solve this issue i ran two antivirus scans and several antispyware scans as well. A few things were fixed(I believe they were all just cookies/suspect files). About an hour ago i experiance somthing very wierd. I was playing a video game and Suddenly it closed, as well as explorer, The only windows that were still up was Firefox, and Ventrilo. Ventrilo was no longer connected tot he server i was in, though it said i was. I disconnected, tryed to reconnect, and it suddenly closed. So i went to firefox and tryed to acces a webpage or somthing like that, And nothing happened. Diden't load, no packs sent/received. So after 5 minuites of this i just restarted. I ran a hijackthis scan shortly after and am here now. Hoping theres somthing that can be done.

Other then these problems, the last few weeks my system has been running slow as rock, Even though its releativly new(about a month old), I'm running a 4000+ AMd 64bit processor/2gb ram and a reasonably fast 7200 rpm HD. I don't see how it could be this slow, for instance it takes about 12-15 cycles of the little blue windows loader bar befor i get to the logon screen. I've seen 3 year old dell systems at schools start faster then this.

Anyway, heres my log... sorry for rambleing.

I assume this is a Visual Basic application right?

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyVBApp] C:\Setup.exe

Other than that, I don't see anything wrong in your log.

Is this the 64 bit version or 32 bit version of Windows XP?

Did you start having this blue screen shortly when you had your new computer? How about adding any new software or hardware? Did you add any?

Let's also see if it could be RAM that's bad:

Download the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and install it on a blank floppy disk. Restart your computer and insert the floppy. If necessary, change your bios to boot from the floppy drive first. Let it load from the floppy and run the memory test for about 15 minutes. If no errors show up, you may exit the program and take out the floppy.

Eset seems to be contributing to your BSOD's. Please remove it for the time being.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other security software:

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

Malwarebytes - Free

Good and Free system security combination.

Run a System file check (SFC): SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Run Disk Check on your Hard Drive(s): Disk Check

Scan with Kaspersky TDSSKiller:Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

ESET online scanner: Free Online Virus Scanner | ESET

If this does not provide stability. Test RAM.

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.*Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.

No overclocking at this time. Set things to default or the like.
Did you check if Windows 7 kept you Activation (genuine)? After changing motherboard even the exact same sometimes this will be needed.

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b)
An exception happened while executing a system service routine.

Code:

# Child-SP RetAddr Call Site

We can see clearly from the stack that the ATI Driver experienced a Page Fault (Data not found in RAM) which led to an exception which ultimately caused the system to crash.

In another 0x3B Bugcheck dump file, the below stack was obtained -

Hi everyone!
My computer has been BSOD'ing a little now and again, but nothing that has really made me ..until now..suddenly 2-3 in a row within an hour.
I have attached the dump files and now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for someone out there to help me :( I feel extremely helpless right now.
Please let me know if you need more info, or if I provided the wrong files..? I'm not really sure what you need!
Best regards!

EDIT: Some additional info for the last 2 bluescreens!

Hi,
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (1e)

This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.

I got a new 16 GB kit of memory installed into my computer because a specific game kept giving me a BSOD (this fixed that problem) but now im getting a new BSOD from doing generally anything gaming wise and now the BSOD wont make a dump file when the setting was never changed in the first place. The last BSOD was 5/30/2016 and the event viewer says it was a Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power error eventID 41 task 63 if i have to i can provide a lightshot screenshot of the details exactly.

hello thank you for reading for reading this . im having a a lot of bsod's occur lately usually when im in a web browser.

I checked memtest+86 , ram is good .

I ran chkdsk /f and chkdsk /r .

I deleted avast to see if it was my antivirus , since I had both avast and anti malwarebytes (probally not the problem though)

I ran a antivirus check , found like 3 little things that didn't seem connected to the problem , delete them anyways .

and from what I can see , the BSOD's occur when im in Any web browser .

im on from my pc right now trying to push my luck , no BSOD's as of last boot up.

I linked the files of the raw crash files , I apologize as I don't have the debugging tools , my pc would crash before I can download them from the Microsoft website .

please help , and thank you.

(P.S.) I included my system spec on my profile if it is necessary .

Hi, ok, I've been looking around in these forums for hours and I cant seem to find something to help my situation so I started a thread, hopefully it wasnt already answered. Here it goes, my computer recently crashed, dont know why it just shut off for no reason. When I tried restarting it at first it said I was missing the hal.dll, then I restarted it again and all i get is the "Primary Drive Failed". I've tried windows repair, but it wont recognize the hard drive, and I tried changing my boot sequence, I also tried floppy boot disks with diagnostic tools but it still wont recognize that I have a hard drive attached. As of now im using an old hard drive and it is working fine, although its win98 and very small So I cant figure the problem out because it runs one hard drive well but not another. I cant even reinstall winxp on the screwed hard drive because it wont read it. Please Help.

Specs:
P3 866mhz
AOpen board
15.3GB/200GB (master/slave)
400W power supply
GeForce 5500 PCI

A:Boot Drive Error and ALOT of other problems.

The answer is simple, your hard drive is dead. your going to have to buy a new one.
