When I am browsing the internet my browser starts to zoom in/out and doesn't allow me to click on anything

Q: When I am browsing the internet my browser starts to zoom in/out and doesn't allow me to click on anything

When I am browsing the internet my browser starts to zoom in/out and doesn't allow me to click on anything. It basically freezes my browser (firefox). Sometimes by hitting zoom in or out on my keyboard I can get it to stop doing this, but not all the time. It seems recently to be happening more often. Any help on what it is or why its happening would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Howdy, my brother! This computer is running XP Home SP2 on an Intel Core Duo HP Media Center - but it stopped has booting outside of Safe Mode. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/sty...fault/wacko.gifI allowed a computer novice friend who had been accessing his Yahoo!Mail acct from a public motel computer where he contracted a virus - without cautioning me - to access his mail from my PC. He says the virus on his Y!Mail is hardware independent - and modeled the behavior he found at the motel - i.e. when he attempts to write a new email or forward one, a script inserts nuisance text in that message. After he experienced that on my pc, web browser windows now run a script which hijacks the Zoom-in / Zoom out control and locks-up at either the zoom in or out (out is worse) because you only see a corner of the raster.I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, AdAware, and my installed Avira AntiVir Guard - none of which detected anything but cookies. I installed some new camcorder software which rebooted the system. But after the Windows start-up screen, the screen just goes BLACK and the system is unresponsive. I booted in Safe Mode with Networking, downloaded and ran HijackThis to get log. I ran Dr.WebCureIt - which detected nothing in this mode. I have timely news video for CNN iReports Independence Day coverage which I seek to transfer from my camcorder to edit on this tower - if you would please help me get it back working again. (Remember this is the Safe Mode log).... Read more

For quite some time, I have used careful habits and Firefox to avoid the worst of the maladies I read about here. However, recently I read that IE8 is recommended over Firefox. Then when I consider Chrome, Opera, Safari..... It occurred to me that there must be one which offers the greatest protection from catastrophe. I have gotten such excellent advice at Bleeping, I know that I can count on some well considered direction. Thanks in advance.

A:Internet browsing safely? Is there a "best" browser?

From a pure browser perspective. My personal opinion is browsers by themselves are pretty equal. Then you look at the 'add-ons'. This is where you need to educate yourself, in their use and potential risks to browser security and integrity. It's not the base browsers in and of themselves you need to concern yourself with significantly. I feel that it is usually 'pilot error' that is the root cause of a 'crash'. Unsafe browsing habits and lack of situational web awareness are large contributors to bad stuff happening. This is not to say every web based attack on a machine is the users fault or ignorance. I feel that with education and web awareness much of it can be mitigated or drastically diminished. The one phrase I am not sure I understand the definition of in your post is: greatest protection from catastropheWhat do you define a catastrophe as? I purposely rather not make any assumptions here.

On windows 8 internet explorer used to open up as an app on the windows start screen. Today, I decided to download firefox to improve speed. However, I found that firefox only opened in 'desktop' and I couldn't work out how to open it as an app, like I did with internet explorer. I uninstalled firefox and repinned explorer to start screen and toolbar and reset it as default only to find it too wouldn't open on start screen now, coming up with the message shown by the image. . I know it's not a problem with the internet because if I wrench it onto the desktop it works perfectly. Why won't the internet work on the startscreen? How can I fix it?

Hi all!
I'm having trouble trying to install any Antivirus, I run the setup and nothing happens. (Originally Avast 5 was installed but not running, can't update it either so I uninstalled it)

After several days I managed to install Avira but it's in offline state - can't connect to update definitions.
Internet browsing it's too slow in any browser (I'm writing this from another computer right now because in the infected one it's impossible)
I must say that I cleaned several virus and malware just before this happens, because I was not able to execute any .exe file and when browsing and trying to load any AV site, the browser redirects me to ad pages. (This is now resolved)
I already ran Malwarebytes and it removed a bunch of malware related stuff.
I also ran AdwCleaner, TDSSKiller and Hitman Pro. If needed I can attach the log files.

i was thinking if there's a chrome/FF extension (or userscript) that allows the PC browser to emulate smartphone behavior. for instance, when we double tap on an area of text, it automatically zooms in to that area and wraps the text nicely around the window.

right now, i do it manually (using ctrl+scrollwheel, then adjusting the horizontal bar to make it fit). any recommendations for automation?

A:double click frame to zoom in to text (emulate smartphone behavior)?

I could not find anything that fits what you are looking for. You've probably looked and found existing extensions are fairly similar to what you do presently.

Out of interest I wrote some scripts with Macro Express and AutoIt. It only took a few minutes. They worked from a hot key (rather than double-click) and pasting into a new window at larger font or appearing in Notepad. I found that it was easier to select text with the mouse (followed by the hot key), so don't rule that out if you find such an extension.

I also made a version where it copied the text in the area so many pixels above and below the mouse. Worked OK but it could miss some text in the top and bottom lines where there was a mix of left-, centred- and right-aligned text. Unfortunately I don't know the programming for FF or Chrome so I can't help with the request. My basic apps did have the advantage that they worked for any document that has text that can be copied to the clipboard (and the text could be directly pasted anywhere else).

I had this issue last year and a system restore seemed to fix it, but that didn't help this time around. Anyway, what happens is I turn my computer on, the fans come on like normal and almost everything lights up like it should, but the hard drive doesn't seem to boot up and the screen doesn't turn on at all. Sometimes when I hit the power button, I hear the fan for a moment, it stops, then it goes back on and stays on. Other times it just fires up and the fans blow without a hitch. I've tried turning it off and on repeatedly until I got it to stay on, which used to help, but now it doesn't. I've tried unplugging all the external stuff like the keyboard and mouse (some places suggested this can help) and booting up with just the power cable, which doesn't help anymore either, but I notice sometimes it doesn't cause that little hiccup with the fans when I do it this way. As far as I know, it's not overheating, and all the stuff I have plugged into the USB ports is recognized (mouse, phone charger, tablet) upon startup. I can't do the usual stuff like running in Safe Mode and hitting F2 because I don't make it that far in the bootup process, so I assume it's a hardware problem rather than software. I don't know if this is a power issue causing the screen to not come on, or a hard drive issue (since the hard drive icon doesn't light up - it flickers for a second). But I'm leaning toward a power issue. I've got a couple things I intend to try doing later that I got... Read more

I've never seen this problem before in my life and it has me mortified.

My Sony VAIO starts. It's plugged in normally. The power lights flash, it checks the CD-RW drive, and then remains on with the main power light on and the fan on, but the screen remains black and nothing else happens. Windows XP doesn't load. No Sony logo, no "Operating system not found," nothing. It's like it's had a lobotomy.

I haven't installed anything new, and the notebook has just been sitting around unplugged for a few days. The last thing I used it for was to burn a CD with Windows Media Player. The only change I can think of is that my USB tablet isn't plugged in.

Any suggestions? Thanks, everybody.

A:Solved: XP VAIO laptop starts, Windows doesn't, screen doesn't seem to.

If it has a battery installed, try removing that. Then with the laptop power plug UNplugged press and hold the power button for a second or two.

Then plug the power adapter back in WITHOUT replacing the battery and see if you can get a normal start.

I would appreciate advice from anyone who has familiarity with this program.

You could try uninstalling/re-installing Zoom Browser? This might fix the bug and it's worth a try.

If you're using Windows XP you can upload the pics from your digi camera without any other software needed.

I have ZoomBrowser but uninstalled it and don't really miss it as XP's inbuilt camera software works fine.

Sounds like something is wrong with your local DNS then on your computer.

Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre > (click on your connection whether it's ethernet or wireless connection) > properties > Networking Tab > scroll down to "Internet Protocol Version 4" and double click...

Now make sure the box that says "Obtain DNS server address automatically" is checked.

Hi! I am having a small issue with Cannon's ZoomBrowser program. I'm working on making movies with clips and pictures. I love the program, the way that it all works, but I ran into a small problem. Saving.

When I click save it says...
"The save failed due to decrease in available memory. Decrease the save image size, or reduce the number of images you are adding to the story board, and try to save again"

I decreased all of the images size, but it still didn't save. What is the issue with this program? I'm hoping you'll tell me there is just something small wrong that I can fix. It does this with about 10 pictures and 2 30 second video clips, so its not like I have lots of images/clips in it either.
Thank You!

I'm blaming this idiocy on pregnancy brain:

Load photos from camera to program (5.0 version) without issue. Can view thumbnails in each folder, no problem. But suddenly, when I highlight a thumbnail and then click on "View Image" to see a larger version, the thumbnail turns brown and nothing happens.

What the HECK have I done? I feel stupid, because it's likely something soooo simple, but am at a loss.

Thanks in advance,

My IE browser opens at 150% zoom after I change it to 125%. How to make the 125% setting stay put?

A:Browser default zoom level

Hello Shark,

If this is for Internet Explorer, then you should be able to set the zoom level to 125% using a method in the tutorial below, and make sure that you have the Reset zoom level for new windows and tabs box unchecked (step 7C).

Please help!
I was downloading photos using Zoom Browser as usual, without any problems. Then, a pop-up window appeared with a heading of "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library". Within the window it stated: " Runtime Error! Program:C\Program Files (X86)\Canon\Zoom Browser EX MCU\MCU.EXE

I was unable to further download. I tried restarting, then closed and re-opened the program, removed and reinserted the memory card....but all had the same result.

Any suggestions?

You need to download Microsoft visual C++

You should also update your windows *(It really helps)

Maybe someone here can help me, because I'm stumped at this.

My laptop is recieving an wired internet connection, but none of my programs seem to be connecting to the signal. For example, Internet Explorer isn't loading pages (just blank), things aren't updating, and my "Weather App" says "Service not available." When I open Safari, it can't open the page and says "The error is: 'There was a problem communicating with the web proxy server (HTTP).' (CFURLErrorDomain: 306)"

The problem isn't in the router, because the desktop I'm using to post this is working fine. The problem isn't in the ethernet cable, because I tried using it to connect the desktop and it still worked fine.

Network and Sharing Center confirms that This Computer is connected to the Network connected to the Internet. When I "Diagnose and repair," the message comes up "Widnows did not find any problems with your internet connection."

I've tried disabling the connection, restarting, and enabling again, to no effect. I haven't tried restarting in Safe Mode yet, because I'm not sure how.

The problem is on my Dell laptop with Windows Vista. We get internet from Comcast, connected to my computer through a Scientific Atlanta modem and one each Cisco and Linksys routers. Again, though, my mystery is that the computer says it's recieving a connection, but it's somehow not being used by any prog... Read more

for some unknown reason canon zoombrowser ex has stopped openning. When I double click the icon, it opens to a white screen with nothing in but then fails to load. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice and have also tried a system restore to 3 days ago however nothing has worked. Have also downloaded the latest driver from the canon website however this hasn't fixed it.

If anybody has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Did it work before?

What have you done that might have stopped it working?

Why are you using it at all?

OK, I've checked the other threads re: Zoom Browser and have tried all the tricks and ideas, but no success. First I kept getting an error message about not being registered and now it's the wrong string or something. I've d/l'ed the newest version and it DOES NOT work. Shut down my firewall: no success. I've cleaned out my registry, clean boot, more uninstalls and re-installs and looked on line for more fixes. Even tried my other programs to see if anything else didn't work. Nope! EVERYTHING else is fine! Also, all of Canon's answers I checked into don't work. And I've also seen that I'm not the only one.

I have NO idea what the problem could be. It DID work fine until I received the latest MS updates. (I'm HIGHLY considering NEVER again receiving any more updates from Microsoft as I tend to spend more time fixing things after the updates than the updates are worth. Everything from CHKDSK going into "lets start at every boot" mode to other programs getting glitchy. (Do they even test the updates before uploading them?)

Anyway, I don't want to do a system restore because I've recently d/l'ed some important programs and - like I had to do once in the past - I don't want to explain why I have to re-register the programs. (Can't they tell it's the same computer????)

Just in case: does anyone know where I can get an earlier version of ZB or at least something comparable that actuall... Read more

A:Solved: Zoom Browser won't open in Windows 7

Went back and installed version 5.6. No problems. Still don't know why 6.7.2 did not work. Haven't found anyone who had the problem actually find a real solution. No matter! Version 5.6 works fine and is all I need. Although upgrades work most of the time with other programs, I think I'll keep this version around for a long time.

We have contacted Canon tech with no end to the issue. The error message is "Z B module has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Hi, thank you for time. I downloaded stuff from torrents and online games and suddenly I have viruses and stuff like that. My kaspersky was suddenly turned off and my windows defender as well. I can't continue to the internet while having connections. I can connect only through safe mode. There's this added unresponsiveness to my os (win7 64bit) as well, often leading to bsod. Need your help badly. Thanks. I have those logs ready if you just say what i need to paste. Again, thank you very much for your time.

I'm running the latest official release of Google Chrome Browser.

I have laptop with 1920x1080 display and if Chrome is set at 100% zoom, everything is too small.

When I set Chrome to 150% zoom, things look okay. The problem is that for some webpages in Chrome, 150% zoom messes up the page really bad to the point where the webpage is almost unusable (overlapping pictures, text, etc). For webpages with this problem I find that I have to either have Chrome zoomed to a multiple of 100 (so either 100% zoom, 200%, 300%, etc). The problem is that doing so makes the page obnoxiously too big or too small. I've tried different zoom related plugins to help fix this issue but nothing works.

I notice I do not have this problem with Internet Explorer. I'm able to zoom in or out without the contents of the webpage becoming jumbled.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you

A:Help with Chrome browser, zoom issues on 1920x1080 display

Unfortunately, I know of only two options, neither of which I think you will be keen to.

1) Use IE9. I have both IE9 and Chrome installed on my computer, and I prefer IE9. I mainly use Chrome for the apps you can use with it, but for general browsing I prefer IE.

2) Reduce the resolution on your computer to 1600x900. This will make everything on the screen bigger, including web pages. I know it seems suboptimal to use a lower resolution than what the screen is capable of, but the difference in picture quality is minor and it will most likely solve your issue.

When using Windows Explorer I right click on an itme and instead of a context menu the system starts to install my AV program. Several cancels eventually brings up the context menu.
How do I fix this?

A:Right click starts AV install

It sounds like the first item on the right click context menu is to scan with antivirus and the antivirus is not properly registered.
What antivirus do you have?

Does it just happen with folders or just files or with everything?

Good morning to everyone.

A coworker has a virus that our part-time IT guy has not been able to fix, so I'm stepping in to assist. She is running XP Pro SP2, connected to an AD Domain. AntiVirus software is NOD32.

If she right-clicks an icon, any icon, windows installer starts up saying it's going to start installing Symantec AntiVirus. You can cancel, and no harm done. It is obviously very annoying, though.

NOD32 was reporting an "Infiltration." I allowed it to delete the two files it found: braviax.exe and cpl32ver.exe. I also ran SDFix, and it found something and dealt with it (sorry I didn't write down what it found, thinking the problem was solved).

This morning the right-click issue has returned. The HijackThis log follows. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Please do not request assistance for corporate/company owned computers. Many changes/deletions are made during the clean up process, some of which may involve uninstalling programs, deleting folders/files, changing settings and/or removing policies etc. As we have no way of knowing for sure if these are actually needed for company operations, malware issues in these cases should be handled by their own IT Departments in order to avoid any undesirable results. The only way I seem to be able to launch a program is to right click and select "Run as Administrator". This odd behavior only happens on a system I have designated as my media server. It is a P4 3.06Ghz w/4 GB Memory, Hyper Threading, and ~ 4 TB of storage. I am running Win7 Pro 32 bit. I've checked my mouse settings and internet options and don't see anything out of the ordinary as compared to my other Win 7 systems which work normally.

It began acting strangely about 4 to 6 weeks ago after a massive Windows Update. Windows Update crashed in the middle of the update and began what seemed at first to be a endless reboot loop to install the updates which invariably failed.

I was just about to pull the plug and rebuild the system from scratch when it finally booted up saying all the updates were successful!?!? However, since that time programs will only launch when I right click and select "Run as Administrator". Double clicking either program shortcuts or registered file types starts the "busy" indicator but it stops after a few seconds with no action. For the programs I use on that system most often it's not a problem. However, there are some program file types like ".msi" where "Run as Administrator" is not on the "right click" options menu. I can't do anything with them.

I'm stumped, anybody have a clue what's happening? Any help would be appreciated.

A:Double Click No Longer Starts Programs

Enable the guest account (Guest Account - Turn On or Off) and login as a guest.

Now see if the double click to open feature works.

Also try using a different mouse, if possible.

This is a good place to start.

I am running XP-SP2 on this pc for sometime. Recently I noticed that when I right-click a file name in Windows Explorer that the Microsoft Installation dialogue box pops up showing an installation (for a Macromedia program I have had a long time) and giving me the one option button to "Cancel". Normally takes about three cancels for it to clear and show me the right-click menu. This also happens when I launch any MS Office program. Thanks.

A:Right-Click in Windows Explorer starts installation

Seems like you have files missing/moved or registry values deleted that incompletely.

Use Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and see if you can get rid of the previously deleted software from there. I'm actually having this same problem with a utility, and its due to me moving the installation files around.
