Internet Lags in T570

Q: Internet Lags in T570

Just recently (<30 Days ago) purchased a t570 notebook. I am experiencing these odd lags and hangs while on the Internet. I suspect that it may be a compatibility issue between the AC 8260 WIFI adapter and my Netgear B/G/N router. Support refuses to take a look at the event log which has produced a number of errors. I wonder if anyone here can help with this, because I think the answer may lie here. This was not an issue with my old computer which was a Wireless N adapter, and my wife's tower does not exhibit these issues, either. Everything should be up-to-date, but regardless, I don't think it's a driver issue. (Note: This is not the entire log file, only a sampling of errors and events prior to and following the errors.) This is a Win7 Pro, 8g RAM, I can't think of anything else that would be pertinent here. I opened a ticket with Lenovo only to be told to ship the laptop to them, which is not possible. If necessary, I can attache the entire log file, which is extensive. Thanks in advance

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi,
I have got a thinkpad T570 laptop, and everything works well except that my computer can only connect to the Internet by WI-FI. When I plug in the cable, it cannot connect to the Internet. I am sure the modem and the cable works well because I have tried to use them on another computer, and the other computer can connect to the Internet. Is there any problem with my thinkpad T570? Can anyone help me? Thank you very much!

Hi!

So I'm running Windows 7 on a Asus K53E with a 64 bit operating system and 4GB of RAM. I've had it for close to 5 years and can't really afford to get a new one at the moment.

Right now I'm having an issue where the laptop isn't running as smooth as I feel that it could. It's really noticeable when I stream any audio (or especially) video content anywhere online, something I do all of the time. The audio will stutter and glitch (creating kind of a dub-step sound effect). It's been happening for months, though it used to only happen if it wasn't plugged in, or if it'd been on for too long etc. Now it happens very frequently (sometimes once every other minute if not more) and nothing I've tried (updating the audio drivers and taking better care of it in general) has helped.

I haven't really been able to find much help online, though last night I downloaded a latency checker and saw repeated huge spikes in latency while streaming soccer matches and content from Netflix. I tried disabling and re-enabling various devices as the program recommended, but haven't been able to isolate any potentially faulty drivers. What was interesting however, is that I realized that these latency spikes weren't just occurring while content was streaming, but as I preformed other functions on my computer as well (mostly answering emails for my job). The whole system runs pretty laggy in general, I'm realizing now. Is there anything I can do?

I'm really out of id... Read more

Hello! I need help with my computer.

I have this 6-year-old desktop computer, and it is acting weird recently. Here is the story:

My computer runs very flawlessly for 6 years already, regularly updating my anti-virus software, doing maintenance once a month, and I am very careful when it comes to malware. Hence I should say that my PC is well-maintained.

One day, my printer (HP PSC 1410) died and decided to buy a new one (Canon MP258). I uninstalled the old printer driver and restarted. But after shutdown, my boot time seems doubled.

I continued by installing the new printer driver. But this time, installing takes quite long and I noticed that the mouse lags (or moves 'choppy') when I try to whip the mouse.

I also get a few stutters before fully stopping when pausing MP3 files. I also experience drastic FPS drops in my music games (40-50fps for a few seconds and goes back to the normal 200+fps, and drops again at random times in the song). Also, I hear a very short stutter every second with my music production program FL Studio 9, even at maximum buffer size (2048 samples @ 49ms latency via ASIO).

I get drastic performance drops. And I can really see it with the mouse lag.

I checked TaskManager and CPU is at 0-5% when idle. I also do not notice CPU spikes. I tried a full defrag (which lasted about 22 hours) and a full chkdsk (with through scanning). But I still get the same problem.

I will upload a sample audio recording of my computer speakers' output... Read more

Go to Start/Run and type appwiz.cpl and press enter. Make sure there is no HP software remaining. Do a Search include Hidden Files for all HP software and delete all files it finds. Download CCleaner analyze the drive and remove all the temp files it finds. Run the Registry scan too. Download Malwarebytes run a full scan and delete all items it finds. Do another Check Disk, go to Start/Run and type chkdsk C: /R and press enter. Now type a Y and reboot the system. Go to Start/Run and type dfrg.msc and press enter. Do another Defrag,

Hi,

You guys have always been of great assistance in the past, especially when I had a major problem.

Now I have two.

When I start up my computer, go into windows, it takes a while to load then I get bsod and it restarts then works perfect, so now if I run it cold, I reset it immediately after switching it on, then it works. WTF?!

Plus now, it has started getting really slow and it lags. What can I do?

Please tell me whatever info you need, and where I can find it for you. I will be completely cooperative and appreciative.

look forward to hearing from you.

this started to happen yesterday.

im connected with internet cabel.

we have a switcher that i am connected to instead of the router because when im connected to the router i get strange lags when im playing so i switched to the "switcher" and it helped. i dont know why this started to happen.

A:i get random internet lags, but i have great internet

It should not matter if you are connected to the switch or the Gateway. Inless the switch is a Managed Switch.

umm.. how are you moving the scroll bar? dragging it or using the mouse wheel? if your using the mouse wheel, there is a setting on the mouse to change how fast it scrolls.. control panel -> mouse settings .. if ie is slow on loading, you might want to delete the temp files and cookies..

My issues seem to have started around the time SP1 for Vista Ultimate x64 was installed on my computer. I have an issue where when playing games I eventually will be hit with a huge lag spike. What happens after the spike is that I will be kicked from Ventrillo and I will get sent to spectator mode in Source games or I will get dropped from my Company of Heroes game. I think this may also be happening while browsing the internets, but it isn't as evident as with gaming.

I have tried updating and rolling back drivers for my onboard NIC. Still same problem.

I put in a PCI NIC. Still same problem.

I updated and rolled back drivers for nForce chipset. Still same problem.

My Comodo Firewall and Eset NOD32 are set to ignore all games. Still same problem.

I have disabled and even uninstalled Comodo Firewall and Eset NOD32. Still same problem.

I have updated my firmware on my router. Still same problem.

I have port forwards set up. Still same problem.

When I run ping plotter, the signal from my router to my modem is stable, as well as other hops. This has led me to believe it is solely coming from my computer. Does anyone have a clue what could be causing this? What hardware device (besides NIC) or system software could be causing this? I seriously believe I started to have these problems after SP1.

I do have a OC on my system, but that has been rock solid and stable for well over 6 months. I get no other system errors, only issues with my internet connection.

I have completely reformatted and reinstalled my windows 7 OS on a new quad-core 4GB computer. internet explorer 8 continues to lag badly and use up nearly 100% cpu when more than one tab is opened. is the browser really that bad, or is there another possible problem? i am totally OK with firefox, i just am concerned that the problem is more than IE.

A:Internet Explorer 8 lags terribly with more than 1 tab.

Hello Anna, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It could be a bad installed add-on on IE8 causing the issue. You could check by running the Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) in the Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools. If it runs fine, then it's likely an a bad add-on. In your normal IE, disabe your add-ons and enable one by one testing after each time to see if you find the culprit causing this issue.

However, I would also recommend to update to IE9 as well through Windows Update.

If the above doesn't help, then you might see if resetting Internet Explorer may.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi All

I'm really in desperate need of some help

Whenever I open a browser, be it IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc... the internet immediatley drops through the floor. However, If i have no browser open my upload/download speed is completley normal; I can only assume this is being caused by some type of virus? (there are no extensions or addons in any of the browsers)

All other devices, laptops, phones, etc all work normally, it's just my computer

I have tried every thing I can think off to fix the issue:

- Run antivirus
- run anti-malware
- disabled system restore, run system restore, booted in safe mode, run antivirus/malware
- used netstat to try track down any strange open connections (none could be found)
- wiped the hard drive (restored back to factory)

nothing seems to work!

Ive attached a screen shot of a ping request showing the effect before and after opening a browser window.... and below ive paste my computer spec

Please... if anyone can suggest anything else i can try that would be really helpful

Thank you in advance

So I managed to solve this on my own (eventually)....
step 7 and 8 solved the issue for me
So, in case anyone else is having the same problem, here are the steps I took to solve the problem:
1) Restart the computer
2) Disable system restore, then restore computer back to last know working configuration. Restart the machine in safe mode, and run an antivirus scan/malware scan
3) try running programs like, rkill, glasswire, combofix, etc to try reset and flush typical stuff out
4) using the cmd prompt, run 'netstat -b', look for any abnormal PIDs, if you see any, use the 'msconfig' cmd, disable any processess/services. Then use regedit to manually remove the entries. Open the folder c:/computer/user/<user>/appdata/local/temp and delete all the contents. restart the machine
5) go to control panel, network and sharing centre: click on the wireless connection. when the prompt opens, click on 'properties', left click on IPv4 and click properties again, in the bottom section, input an open DNS address (you can find loads on google)
6) Hard reset your router (usually a pinhole button on the back of the router)
7) log into your router through the default gateway (ipconfig to get the ip, then stick that into your browser). Go to router settings and find your security settings. Change the wireless channel to the next one down (for me, I changed mine from 11 to 8), then, change the security encryption to 'WPA(only)'
I hope this helps

I did not know which section of the forum to post this on, so i chose windows 7 general. If i turn the computer on while my modem is working, my computer becomes slow. Meaning, for example, when i open a folder it will not open smoothly but like in 2 or 3 frames. same thing when i want to move from screen to screen.

However, if i disconnect the internet it becomes smooth. it stays smooth even if i connect afterwards. what can be the cause of this. do i need to worry about virus/trojan/worm? or about configurations or drivers?

Can someone advise?

A:Windows lags/jerks when turned on while internet is on

What is the make and model# of your computer?
Who is your Internet Service Provider?
What is the make and model # of your Modem/Router?
Go to the computer manufacturers support/download drivers site. Type in your make and model# or service tag # and download the Network Driver (Ethernet/LAN) for your model.
Check with your ISP to test your lines. You may need to get a new Modem from them.

Hi! Recently my internet has gotten so unbearably slow that when I just even connect to the internet, my whole computer lags and it is rather unbearable. I've done multiple speedtests and hardly does my download speed go past 3 mbps on a 50mbps connection. And the problem is that it's only on this machine. On other machines I get speeds up to 20 mbps (which is still slow on the plan, but considering that they're wireless connections with multiple machines running at once, it's fair.) I can hardly load Youtube videos, photos, and webpages. Most notably when I go and play online games, the lag is just unthinkable. I would like some help with this issue, and here are the specs of my computer and network.

Computer:
Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10 GHz
8.00GB RAM
1TB of storage
Windows 7 (64x) installed
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series 4GB

Network:
ISP: Shaw Communications Inc. on a 50mbps broadband connection plan

4c/8t processor uses 25% of its cpu to this nt kernel & system. system lags a bit but barely and what hit me was the internet speed. i went to speakeasy for speed test and im still getting the usual 15mbps, but when i game online it constantly lag and got me thinking its something to do with my wifi.

i only have wifi internet installed so i only have wifi internet, LAN and bluetooth disabled and uninstalled. i went to task manager, right-click nt kernal and select "go to services" but shows no services so i do not know what i could disable or the cause of this issue.

several things i have tried: (im using driver off intel/manufacture website)
- hard restart (issue reoccurs randomly after several hours, or sometimes 1-2 hrs)
- fresh windows, installing all drivers correctly in order and issue reoccur again
- remove internet wifi driver, reinstall it and issue occurs again

now i am currently beat and dont know how to proceed, please help!

ok i found a tutorial video on how to use xperf thats found here "blogs.msdn.com/b/ntdebugging/archive/2010/03/22/using-xperf-to-root-cause-cpu-consumption.aspx"

i follow the tutorial but in the end it asks me to search online for the issue anyway. root of my problem "NT Kernel & System" seems to be ntkrnlmp.exe!KiIdleLoop under stack process in xperf, and ntoskrnl.exe under function process. i search it up and finding exe file under windows/system32.. what should i do now? to be honest i think deleting it would be a bad idea but this problem occurs so much at least once a day if i were to leave computer on for 10+ hours, which i normally do.

Hi first time user looking for help.

So I'm posting this on behalf of my friend, my friend uses a pretty cheap looking usb wifi adapter that was left behind by big pond worker who was fixing his internet a few years back, he says when his parents use internet on their phone or use the TV to watch foxtel or watch youtube on the TV that he's net will loose it's strength and keep disconnecting, he can't maintain connection for more then 2-3 minutes when this happens.

Would a way to fix it be by getting him a better wifi adapter like this? http://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers/networking/netgear/n300-wifi-adapter-sku-66130 , I just want to help him fix his net.

Thanks for the help, and please reply as soon as possible.
Thanks.

A:Friends Internet lags when my parents use foxtel?

It's possible that the wireless adapter is defective, however it may also depend on the ISP. Is the internet a telco (phone) company

I recently upgraded from a wired router to a WRT160Nv2. I have 2 wired computers, and one wireless. The only things I set up on the router are regular passwords for everything, updated my firmware, did a MAC address clone for my primary computer, disabled firewall and filters, and forwarded a port. My MTU is set to 1365: the only reason I mention it is because I was told to set it to that number. I also installed the software linksys easylink advisor that came with it on all computers. It default runs on startup.

I use firefox, and xp on all three computers. I am having no problems on my wireless laptop connection. I am having no recognizable problems on my secondary computer that is wired. My primary computer is having all the issues. I have done antivirus and spyware scans and updated everything I could, but I know the problem is caused from the new router because they happened immediately after I got it.

Ok, so when im browsing websites, quite often I will lose connection. I don't get a message saying I have lost connection, but it does not work. I try to pull up a new firefox and it opens and cannot connect. IE wont work either. If I try to ping google.com, nothing happens while im having trouble with it. If I close my browsers and wait like 20 seconds, usually I have internet again and can ping google.com or whatever with no issues. If I was viewing a video on youtube, and clicked a new link, and it decided to break, it would load everything and the the video wou... Read more

I have a pretty good computer, ? as computers go ? but every day between 5-30 minutes after start-up, it begins to experience lag spikes, sharp sounds loops, and looses the internet connection regardless of how much RAM I am using. I can postpone dealing with it by restarting my computer, but it is annoying to do so everyday. If it starts this when, for example, I'm playing Terraria, it breaks the save file; so I have to keep frequent backups when I play.
I am running Microsoft Security Essentials and have scanned my computer for viruses, but the issue remains.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I scanned with my AVG and about 15 infections popped up but they all just said Trojan horse.Generic 11.IOD. AVG supposedly cleaned them but my computer is still very laggy.

Used to be able to access internet very within seconds of reaching the desktop. Now it seems like it takes 30-60 seconds for whatever reason. You may be able to load a page or two then it will lag and act like it is searching for internet, then it flashes to no internet and then says limited internet access and then it finally connects. All I did was upgrade my 840 SSD firmware from the 06 version to 09 version. Like an idiot I did not have system restore setup and ALSO did not do a backup before updating the firmware. I have been looking around for the old firmware version to see if that is indeed the issue but no look. Any advice on how to speed it back up or at least find that older version firmware?

A:Updated SSD firmware - PC lags to connect to internet after reboot

A system restore or backup wouldn`t help you in this case anyway, what you did has nothing to do with windows.

Even though it`s having an affect on it somehow

I would hope you have at least 1 disk image saved somewhere ?

I'm late for work, so I can't look at the reports just now (I'll look this afternoon or tomorrow AM (UTC-5; east coast of the US))

But you mentioned the rzudd.sys driver in your post
This belongs to Razer software, so I'd suggest uninstalling it
Then, try another device and see if that helps (this'll help to rule out both the software and the device as a cause).

If this fixes the problem, then add the Razer device back in (without it's software)
Test to see if that still works w/o BSOD's

Finally, download and install a fresh copy of the latest, W10 compatible Razer software and test that.

Just to be cautious, please also run these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Alright so i'll begin from the start.

MY PC:
Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 @ 2GHZ - 2GB of RAM
GeForce 8600 GTS

I got home last week and my pc was on dos screen saying no OS found, pc was working fine when i left house. I put the hd in another pc and it was empty, hmm maybe just old 6 year old hd that died.

I used another 160gb WD HD also about 6 years old, formatted, fresh install of XP SP2. so that worked out but the pc was extremely laggy. It took around 3-5 mins to boot up competely, everythying on pc ran really slow. sound was choppy and laggy all the time. So i thought maybe just an old hd.

I bought a brand new WD 640 GB SATA HD the other day, installed XP SP3 on it. It was working fine for about 24 hours then all of a sudden started to randomly freeze. i rebooted and it started doing the same thing again, really slow reboots, pc was just slow itself. sound was choppy again.

CPU usage isn't even high, usually around 2-3%, nothing in processes seems out of the ordinary. I updated BIOS to newest one, did nothing. I ran memtest, came out clean. I have the good drivers for all my things.
I've been formatting and installing pc's for a while now, so i know more than the average person. But this just got be stumped.

If anyone has any idea of what could be wrong, i'm gonna try formatting and installing again one more time, then i might just buy a new motherboard and CPU.

A:XP - really slow, lags sound, lags everything

Hi rob1302 and welcome to TSF

You've probably tried some of the following, but I'll list the things that I would look for.

Check the temperatures and voltages using speedfan. I'd turn on the graphics mode so I could get log of the readings.

http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Unplug all the extra equipment including CD/DVD drives and see if that would clear the problem.

Reseat all the cables, both power and data, and also jumpers including any on back of the drives.

Blow out the dust using a can of compressed air.

Try another powersupply if one is available.

Replace the BIOS battery.

On the software side, download and install Autoruns and Process Explorer.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896653.aspx
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../AutoRuns.mspx

Use one to check for applications that use too much CPU time and the other to selectively turn off applications.

To be sure malware is not the problem, I would scan with two or more malware scanners.

Look in the startup folder and if anything is there, move them to an adjacent folder for testing.

Hope one of these will help.

Best regards,
Mack1

Is it possible to have an SSD together with a HDD in the T570? I spoke to a sales rep in Australia who assured me it was possible, but advised me to contact technical support about the details; I was informed by technical support that it was not at all possible. Plugging an SSD into WWAN slot was specifically excluded by the tech rep as an option. I am asking this because in my T500, with which I have been happy for many years, I had a 256GB SSD for my OS and programs and a 1TB HDD (in the Ultrabay) for my files; the latter could be conveniently removed for transport when necessary. This set-up was not possible in the T560, for which reason I have delayed replacing my T500.

A:T570 - Ram Upgrade (no longer available?)

Probably, the one from Lenovo is temporarily out of stock.  In general, any RAM with similar specs will work, although there are occasional compatibility problems, especially with RAM described as "Value RAM".  I always suggest that people check the seller's return policy on any RAM they are buying.  I tend to buy whatever is cheapest.

I bought ThinkPad T570 (Intel Core i7-7500U Kaby Lake / 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD / 15,6" UHD IPS /  Intel HD Graphics 620) with ThinkPad Pro Dock 90W 14 days back. In first I updated system to the last Win 10 Pro Creators Update - version 1703 (build 15063.250) which is declared to be fully supported.I expected that it will solve my need for next years, but I'm a little disappointed now, I have the following problems:Annoing background sound somewhere from motherboard, neverending random sound like tss, tsss, ... it looks like something connected with integrated video card, sometime it changes during scroll of web browser windowFrom begin lower half of display sometimes had some flicker issues and content was for short time replaced by some pattern. I updated all drivers to the last versions and now it appears occasionally.I am unable to use 3840x2160 / 60Hz display resolution on external monitor (27" BenQ BL2711U UHD 4K) via DisplayPort cable connected to dock. Monitor is detected, but no video is provided. But if I change resolution to 1920x1080 / 60Hz it is working. If I connect monitor to HDMI on notebook, then it is working on 3840x2160 but only with 30Hz. Other connections like VGA and DVI are also working but they are not able to provide 4k video.I am unable to use my S/N on support pages, it is unknown.
