Hello, a while back our internet started to behave weirdly and we had had a technician check it out but the problem returned some time later and the technician kinda fixed it and replaced our old router with a new one, supposedly. I started playing CS GO again after a long break but I did not have these kinds of problems before with the old router. So basically what happens is, whenever I play, my ping spikes up to 100+ or sometimes even is just 100+ all the time. And after some time of gameplay I get the red writing on the top right corner that warns me that there has been a connection problem. After this disconnect, I cannot rejoin the competitive game. I could do it once by restarting my router, but that is not an option anymore as it restarts the television and wifi for other users in my family. I do not want to come off as a rude person but Steam just gave me like 50 solutions and expected me to check out everything, but I just wanted 1 possible solution at a time, since I described my problem clearly and there shouldn't be that much more similar problems. By the way, the problem seems to be only when I am playing CS GO, whenever I am playing World of Warcraft for example I am not getting disconnected. I highly suspect that my internet provider or my router is causing this. Please help me, my friends are playing and getting ranks, but I am here playing League of Legends.

So I have this processor amd phenom 9100e quad core 1.8 ghz processor which I use to play csgo. When I started playing first time I noticed that I have pretty low fps (50-70) in game and I did some research and found out that some amd phenom processors suffer from this thing called tlb bug. So I went to my bios setting and disabled tlb fix and got much more fps in cs go now (80 -120). However after doing that my csgo feels like slow and sluggish like I had huge input lag. This makes the game unplayable even tho I have more fps. With Tlb fix enabled there is no input lag and it feel right but the fps is horrible. Eithet way the game is unplayable so I have no idea what to do

So I'm having a very weird problem. I've never faced it before. I don't even know how to explain it. Anyway, I will try.


If you zoom in and look closely, you will see there is a burn in of my desktop. You can see the desktop apps icons like the current screen is very transparent.

I noticed it first here on my game main menu.


So basically I have shadows of the previous screens / apps used as I move on to a new app/ screen. I am unable to figure out how / why it happens. Also, my FPS is dropping like crazy. I mean it's like every 10-15 sec the mouse and screen will freeze for a sec and go back to normal.

I've no idea how else to explain.

ambient noise (wind and map noises etc.) and quickswitching gun sounds are extremely loud while everything else is quiet, also the click sound of moving my pointer over the menus is super loud as well..sound is overall unbalanced or w.e you might call it...the only difference i noticed is I have a new realtek HD audio manager in my taskbar. It appears that its detecting my headphones as speakers now maybe? but im not sure and I cant seem to find any setting to change that regardless.

Hi,

Im struggling to resolve a problem with a clients win2k DC.

The server has ADSL through a usb modem and shares out access through a gateway/firewall.

Whenever the internet connection is disconnected it also takes the server off the internal network.

I can ping the server but loose domain access.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi!

I'm not entirely sure whether this should go in the networking section or the XP section but I hope you can help .

I recently re-formatted my computer and installed everything fine, I use a BT Voyager router and I installed the software. Everything goes smoothly but now I've realised whenever I connect a USB device (Be it a memory stick, External Hard drive or a mouse/Keyboard) the internet disconnects and it says "Aquiring Network Address" with a little yellow ball on the computer down the bottom in the toolbar. This also happens when I accept a call on skype and when I insert a disc.

I'm not sure if it's some sort of software confliction. I use Windows to configure my Network.

Oh and I'm no Service Pack 3

Any help would be greatly appreciated! As you can imagine it's very annoying.

This is really getting annoying! Anytime I stay logged into AIM for more than 5 minutes or so while i'm idle, AIM kicks me off and reconnects me. I'll be in a chat room and all of a sidden i'll be nable to send my message simply because AIM will be trying to reconnect me and then kick me off. Will you guys PLEASE help me? I tried everything! I tried changing my port connection on AIM from 5190 to 433-500 range but that didn't work...not by a longshot. I don't think it's my internet connection because my internet is fine and i'm always connected because I have a Netgear Wireless Connection and i'm on Road Runner. But I reconfiguring my network connection just for the heck of it to see if it was the problem anyway, by changing my IP address as my DMZ address. But that still didnt work

I tried switching to an older version of AIM on 5.5 but it still has the same problem and kicks me off when i'm idle for maybe 5 minutes or so. It's really frustrating and it also restarts my "Online Time" on AIM and kicks me out of chat rooms. I tried everything, I searched on Google for troubleshooting tips on how to fix this and there's a majority of AIM users who have this same problem but their questions (including mine) are never answered.

I even changed my screen name because that was what you guys said to do if I encountered the problem. I changed my screen name form sirsaintjoseph to surferjoey33 and it didn't chang... Read more

I have a linksys wireless access point set up. I have a computer in another room with a pci wireless card. I can connect just fine, and things are fine for a while, but after a while I disconnect- and I can't reconnect. this can only be fixed (as far as I know) by restarting. then it breaks again. I can't go more than a few hours without it happening

any idea what I should try?

I've had my computer for several years now and I recently reformatted it. The format worked and everything but now I have a weird problem that, if I'm installing something, I enter a skype conversation or I plug in a USB Device the internet disconnects and it connects back up which takes about 10 seconds.

I have no idea how to sort this problem but it's VERY annoying when I'm playing an online game, or on MSN.

I'm using Windows XP Service Pack 3 with a BT Voyager 2000 router.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hello, I'm Artekis!

I've been having a problem for the past year or so where my internet connection goes out once or twice a day. The DSL light starts to flash when this happens and it quickly comes back after a minute.

I have a Verizon DSL ActionTec GT784WNV router. Computer specs: Windows 7, GTX 660 Ti, i5, 8 Gb ram, 1 Tb HDD.

I would really love some help or information. If you need any logs of something, just tell me what to do and I'll post them here.

I have Cable Internet, the modem is Joohong Superlink 2800, the router is Linksys BEFW11S4 ver. 3.2
I have a laptop which connects wirelessly, and a PC which plugs right in the router both running XP. now the problem is over the last 3 days the connection seems to drop and reconect whitin 30 seconds, i first noticed when MSN mesenger would disconnect 50 times an hour, it also screws up my ability to download. I have called my service provider many times to reset the modem from theyr end, I have done the same to my router, updated the firmware to no avail.
Does anybody have a solution for me, I desperatly need to download my university courses.

Hi.

I've been having problems w/my internet connections on my 64-bit, Windows 7 laptop ever since I bought it. Most problems seem to reside in media disconnection. I've removed and reinstalled adapter drivers, etc. My computer at present will not recognize an ethernet connection (which I'm using on my desktop here to write to you guys); nor will my laptop get online. Ipconfig shows "media disconnected" for both ethernet and wireless. I've done a few of the things other posts suggested, but nothing has enabled connecting wirelessless (or via ethernet). Can you help?

long story short i play an online mmorpg called knight online much similiar to wow
my internet connection is a prepaid "3" broadband USB modem
since ive had the modem ive had constant problems that disconnect me from the game, theres no lag just an instant disconnection
basically what i want to know is whether its the quality of my internet thats disconnecting me or is it a problem with my computer hardware/software?
not sure what information i need to provide to give you a better understanding of where im coming from but i dont want to go out and buy myself new internet when its my computer that has the problems

I have a new Linksys router WRT110 connected to four PCs running XP professional, two wirelessly and two wired.

For no apparent reason one of the wireless links (via linksys wireless G USB adapter) fails randomly ... then after a period of time (maybe 20 minutes or so) the link will restore itself.

While failed the PC reports that it is "unable to associate with access point" even though it still sees the network SSID and indicates a signal strength of about 50%.

All the other three PCs on the network are fine including the other wireless link. Any ideas as to why this is happening/how to fix would be welcome.

My first step would be to go to the manufacturer of the wireless network card's website and install the latest drivers. If this doesn't improve your connection, try upgrading the firmware of your linksys router.

Ok, I have a problem with my notebook. The problem is that I have is a media disconnect on my wifi... it just wont work whats so ever. I have tried everything from ipconfig /release & renew, netsh winsock reset catalog, netsh int ip reset reset.log, uninstall to installing a new copy.... and still got nothing. When you go to the show network connection it will show nothing there. I got so fustrated and pissed off that I went to the point of reinstalling windows... and I still got the same thing has before. I have ran out of ideas on what to do, so if and one can help out that would be great.

I have looked further into this and when I try to go and do a new connection it will tell me that some of the hardware is not turned on or pluged in. I have also checked the error logs that are keeped in the windows folder and came up with nothing... Man I'm stumped.

Hi there,

I've searched for this assumably easy to fix problem but I haven't found a solution so far. I have a Western Digital 120 GB 2,5" external HDD for all my data which I recently use as the main HDD since my notebook broke down. I back everything on here, so important info.

It worked fine and quick for months, yet today I was working on some files from it on my parents Desktop and when I wanted to open a music file it got stuck through the transfer and remained so for a while. It worried me and I disconnected the hdd!! (all other files saved) which was I believe rather stupid. The computer froze and when I restarted and replugged the hdd the following failed/missed:

- the start-up/plug 'n play feature wasn't activated anymore,
- the hdd icon wouldn't appear anymore in my computer
- and windows started to freeze/run extremely slow.

basically: recognision of the hdd, yet no plug 'n play display, computer freezes, no hdd access. within Device Manager it is both displayed in 'harddisk stations' and as a 'USB mass storage system', so I believe the hdd aint broken.

My question, HOW to make it run again and let windows recognise it properly without freezing, cause it has to be a software problem. I tried to uninstall the USB driver (from windows) but after it is recognised again it does freeze again the same way.

Help needed. Thanks in advance.

Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated, as this stupid fault has been going on for sometime now.

I am currently using a BT Voyager ADSL Modem (Supplied by the ISP.)

Sometimes, it shall stay connected for around 2 days at a time (Twice this year.) Other times, it's lucky for it to stay on 2 minutes.

It's clearly got to a ridiculous stage now, and before I make a last grasp attempt by doing EVERYTHING I can to solve it, I would appreicate it if anyone could give me any tips, or general help.

I am currently thinking of:

Formatting C:
or
Reinstalling windows

Getting a new PSU

Changing ISP

Changing modem

It may seem like I am overreacting with the situation here, which I can fully understand. However, this is not a new problem to me, and it has been going on well over a year, with about a two year connection with this ISP.

I have no idea what started it, and I would like to sort it. I have phoned the ISP several times, their ideas are plain stupid. All they can say is,
"Is it plugged into the phoneline?"
"Yes.."
"Hmm, okay, have you tried formatting recently?"
"No.."
"Do that and get back to us"

This doesnt seem like a great option to me, and I'd like to avoid it in every possible way I can.

PLEASE, PLEASE, anyone out there! This is a cry for help

I have just bought a new laptop and I'm having connection problems with my ad-hoc wireless network.

I have a desktop (DT) that connects to the internet and a laptop (LT1) (Toshiba Satellite 1800) that I have had for a 3-4 years.

My new laptop (LT2) is a Toshiba Satellite A100.

All 3 systems are running Windows XP.

DT has a DLink network card, LT1 has a NetGear WG511 pcm card and LT2 has built-in wireless networking.

LT1 has always been able to connect to DT without any problems.

LT2 can connect to DT if LT1 is switched off and connect to DT if LT1 is switched off.

When LT2 is connected to DT and LT1 is switched on then LT2 will be disconnected and LT1 will connect.

When LT1 is connected to DT and LT2 is switched on it will not connect.

If DT is off and then LT2 will connect to LT1 and then when DT is switched on then all 3 are connected.

Can you help please?

can anyone help me here pls

In noticed that when i plug my ethernet cord in the LAN ethernet intergrated port my local area connection 2 keeps connecting and disconnecting. It tries to connect for about 12sec then it tries to reconnect for about 5-6sec, and this keeps doing that same process over and over. I have noticed in the back the amber light blinks every 3sec and the green light is solid. Do you think the port is about the fail or can i have any suggestion? I also reset the modem and disconnect the cable and put plug them back in.

Hi all,

Here's a quick run through of the problem I'm getting. Every few hours or so my browser acts as if my internet connection has died.

I'm running Vista Home Premium and a Speedtouch Router. The router is showing all green lights but IE and Firefox won't connect to the net.

The strange thing is that I can't connect to the router page via the browsers but I can "ping" the router via a Command Prompt ?????

Running diagnostics on the connection doesn't work, neither does Resetting the Ethernet Adapter or even cycling power to the router. The only way to get it working again is a full reboot of the computer which is frustrating to say the least.

I know that its probably very hard to diagnose a problem from this brief description but, being new to Vista, I don't even know how i go about trapping what's causing the fault?

Has anyone any ideas that would help?

I am an intermediate user. I am online a lot, have a good cable modem, and excellent cable internet connection.
My desk top is a good system, 30 Gig hd, fast athalon processor, 700 meg memory. I use netgear 108 bit wireless router, but desktop is connected through hardwire, not wireless.

I am having IE connection problems. After a fresh shut down and reboot, everything runs great. Inevitably, 2 or 3 days down the road, while I am online, IE stops connecting to the internet. This has nothing to do with the connection or the router because the other systems work well in the house.

Anyway, after 3 or 4 days or a healthy running system (I do hibernate it at night), IE just stops connecting to the internet. I've tried opening new screens, changing the LAN settings, disconnecting and reconnecting the LAN connection. IE just keeps reverting to that IE cannot connect to the internet error. Everything else works fine on the computer. There are about 10-15 IE screens open, and maybe a notepad.

My question is, WHY does this keep happening. Is there a way to fix this disconnection problem without shutting down and restarting, and thus losing my threads and work? I just want it to work, and not have to shut down all the time.

PLEASE help!!!!

I would HIGHLY recommend using Mozilla Firefox. To me its easier to use and more reliable. But if u dont want to change. Have you tried going into your Internet connection...properties...double click TCP/IP settings...Advanced Button...make sure DHCP Enabled is under IP address and Automatic Metric is checked. Did you also try shutting Hibernate off? and then see if it stilll does this after a few days.

Easiest thing to do....in my opinion is try Mozilla...its a great browser...i used to use IE all the time and i just got fed up with it from all the crashing and stupid stuff it would do so i tried Firefox and it works great...has never crashed or gave me a problem once and its FREE! Let me know what you find!

A couple of nights ago I downloaded the new version of Ad-Aware and ran it. Foolishly, I deleted the found files instead of quarantining them. The next morning, I noticed from my IM timestamp that I was getting disconnected every 20 minutes. I get reconnected within a minute. I have a windows 7 based HP laptop. I have kaspersky installed and scans regularly for viruses. Right now I have an issue with internet and I am pretty sure it is not a virus. For about a week now, my computer is losing internet connection frequently. I am getting Wifi in my iPad without any issues. So I guess internet service provided by ABC communications has nothing to do with the problem. It works for a random amount of time without issues and then issue arise. Most of the time, it reconnects soon enough, but these interruptions are affecting my work. I tried troubleshooting steps, changing cables and restoring OS. Nothing solves the issue. Is it because of a faulty modem/router, network adapter or anything else. I want to have an idea before contacting the internet service provider with the issue. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Try loading defaults in BIOS (either first screen or exit menu).

can anyone help, got rid of a trojan in windows 2000 pro. but whenever i am on the internet it disconnects after about 20 to 30 minutes with a message and then the computer shuts down. the message is something like "windows has incountered a problem and needs to shut down" i only have come across this problem in windows 2000 pro.

During normal internet browsing, Games, Downloading... My connection seems to time out and or disconnect. My router is a Linksys WRT54GL with DDWRT flashed onto it. I was trying to pinpoint my problems and it seems that my router is not the problem. All other computers in my home run fine and do not experience the time out / disconnect. However the odd thing is that it will reconnect fairly quickly on its own. I am sensing that i have a driver problem so I reinstalled the drivers from the CD that came with the motherboard. No luck, so I searched for the newest drivers for Win7 x64 from realtek. After uninstalling correctly, restarting, and installing the new drivers still no luck. Any recommendations?

Since yesterday, I keep getting Kernel Inpage Error like every 15 mins I turnd the computer on. It runs on pre-installed Windows 8 after I bought it new a year ago.

Hello! I am a new member. I have purchased Belkin Router N150 last January 2012.

We are using a desktop and netbook with Windows 7 installed. I have constant disconnection problem when I am using the router. I have called technical support of my internet provider and told me that the problem was with the router. I called the store where I bought the router and tried to help by troubleshooting my connection but didn't succeed. They replaced the unit since it's under warranty.

Still having the same problem with Belkin N150 up to now. I get disconnected after 20-30mins of using the router. I am getting tired of calling the Belkin Technical Support.

would you post the following tests when its working OK and then repeat ALL the tests when it disconnects and make sure you also tells which tests posted are for what condition

if you are also connected by wireless include the xirrus screen shots

when downloading torrents I randomly get disconnect, and a lot of connections simply won't work. I've looked into it, and it sounds like it's my router.

the thing is, my modem is coupled with the router. it came with the isp. I'd like to disable the router function and simply use it as a modem, and then use my own router- hopefully this would clear up my torrent issues

For some weeks I have a strange problem with the system. Initially it was a problem that the resolution was reduced to 640x480 - so on, just without any update, etc., have restored the system a few days ago, reinstall the drivers for my graphics card well and like everything okay, but but the next day I turn on the PC, I see bios, loading bar system, waiting for 'welcome' and nothing ... I see a black screen, the monitor works but no display, rebooted the PC and here we go again, I went to do something else came back after 10-15 minutes, and there I see desktop loaded and everything is normal as if nothing had happened so I ignored the issue. The next day, I noticed that the 'welcome' appears precisely in those 10-15 minutes, 'something' cause long boot the system. I've seen similar topics, but nowhere the start was not so long.

My guess is that the format C would help me, but I am looking for another solution. Any ideas?

according to system specs you dont have an AV GET ONE.
After youve got 1 run a scan and also get Malwarebytes.
RUN a full scan with both of them.

Check that youve got the latest Bios, be carefull when/if you have to update it.

Hello everybody! Sorry for any error but I am from Italy.

I have a problem with Windows 10 installed on my Macbook Pro Retina 13".
When I am in battery mode and monitor turns off for the energy saving (whatever interval time I choose), if I have not any app using the audio (for example Media Player), the computer disconnects the audio output. So, the sound come out from the internal speakers. I can just solve disconnecting and connecting again the jack in the audio output.

If I run a music program, I have no problem.

If I use the power cable, I have no problem. With or without any music program running.

How can I solve this issue?

The problem is that the Internet disconnects randomly, and at times at constant intervals.

I have a dial-up connection with a local ISP. The modem is HSP56 (internal) and the browser is IE 5.0. The problem persists for few months now. I have investigated various sources of error, and possible blind solutions but nothing seem to work. Below I describe my attempts to identify the exact nature of the problem and certain blind solution, and kindly ask you to forward suggestions to identify or solve the above problem.

I have learned(including from searching these forums) that the source of the problem can be many, and I have attempted to locate the problem, but with no success.

1. Server or ISP problem.
(We contacted ISP, and asked to ran certain tests and
determined that the problem is not due to them.)

2. Inappropriate Setting.
(We are aware of the setting where inactivity causes disconnection, and the
problem is not due to such setting.)

3. Bad connection.
(We replaced wire; the connection is only through one phone; and still did not solve the problem. Should we contact our phone company and request testing of the line? Should we disable incoming phones by adjusting the setting?)

4. Modem Hardware Problem
(The modem is an internal HSP56 modem. ?We have not replaced the modem. We don't want to do this unless itís the last resort.)

Sounds like you are definitely dropping your connection to the net, your browser will return that message if not connected to the net. Do you by any chance have call waiting enabled on you phone line? If you do, you can disable it by inserting *70 or 70#or 1170, in your dialup properties. Have you run a virus scan recently?

Im going to bet that this is going to be your trouble.
It is the AMD Dual core optimizer.
It has been turning out to be a problem for W7 and Vista.
It changes the way that things see the internal clock.
I have basically the same processor and had problems with it as well.
I have found nothing that I cant run without it and several things that can't run with it.

I just got a new laptop. (Dell Windows 7) My work set it up. Its a home and work laptop. It goes into lock mode about every 15mins. Its a pain to have to unlock it all the time. I have went to all the sleep mode setting to no aval. I have administrative privileges.. HELP!

Computer will shut off randomly and won't turn back on for about 15 mins until it turns on by itself. Don't think it's overheating because one, the case side is off and the fans can be turned up, keeping the motherboard or cpu or whatever around 53 degrees or less and I have never had any problems before this. My friends think it's either the power supply or the MB. I was looking for some sort of diagnostic software where I could check both. What's going on??

I am playing warframe or paladins and after 15min in game my screen goes black and says no signal, i hear like lag noise like brrrrrr over my headphones and just a few seconds later the PC shuts down tries to turn on fails and 3 seconds later it turns on. hello everybody,

Its been a couple of days since i 've got this serious problem with my hp dv6899 (win vista home premium). when i leave my lappy on for around 20-30 minutes, it hangs, freezes all applications

but i notice that the clocks still moving on the taskbar and the cursor as well. On hitting the ctrl+alt+del, it pauses for about a minute, the screen goes BLACK and then a Dialog box, with title-

"Logon process has failed to create the security options dialog"

saying:

"Failure - Security Options"

appears.

The only option is removing the battery/power cord. Once started, i m forced to keep the cursor moving.

Is this virus or any crap like that....or a hardware problem...

* To ensure that either your sticks OR your motherboard slots are broken, it's necessary to do the below procedure-
* Pull out all sticks except ONE, scan it.
* If no errors, pull the scanned stick into another slot.
* Proceed like this until you've scanned all sticks individually, and all the slots.I honestly don't know too much until we have a full report.

So I've being having this problem since I bought the machine. I requested assistance from Dell and the sent a technician to chang my motherboard since the problem, they said, was on the graphic card. So after changing it the problem is still there. I've already tried to reinstall the video drivers of both the integrated intel video card and the Nvidia video card. So thing is that when I watch a video each 15 min there is a video lag (like let's say I start watching a 2h video and start at 09.50am, i'm going to have a lag at 10.00 then at 10.15 another one at 10.30 another one at 10.45 and so on until the end of the video) and this happens with all videos. 
I don't know how relevant this is, but I've being having an error (which I found from SupportAssist history) from svchost.exe. (I'm not sure of why it's giving me the error or what the program is). I attached the screenshot of what SupportAssist says regarding the error.
