I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Warm Greetings & welcome to Lenovo Community, happy to have you here.

Hi all, recently I bought Lenovo t440. How long should last battery (s) in this laptop in normal or power saving use with screen at 65-80 %? I know this laptop have two batteries , and both of them are 3 cell right ? Extended battery have 6 cell, which I don't have, but might I would buy it . I noticed my both batteries last max 3,5 hours max 4. This is from I what know - slightly short. Before I buy some of this batteries I would like to know which one is maybe fault, or worst of them. Maybe is faulty inside battery, maybe plug in one. My battery indicator in win 8.1 shows both bAtteries ... It seems windows recognize capacity or remaining storage from both of batteries in same time,or, should I say, it seems my laptop is running on power from both of them in real time... Maybe laptop should drain batteries one by one ? Ok, if this is normal, let's skip it main question is still, how to check each batterie health / or one by one in mY T440 to see which one is maybe faulty or less good, for potential replacement ? thank you allRead other answers
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T440 and the batteries are showing battery error in the Power Manager. I am unable to update my BIOS to see if that will solve it and my batteries don't seem to be eligible for a Firmware update. My Warranty is also expired. Anyone have any suggestions? error is showing up on both batteries (Front internal and rear removable). Laptop works fine when plugged in but will not power on if it does not have a charger connected. Batteries don't charge at all (With or without it being powered on) All suggestions welcome. Would prefer not to have to get a new battery set as these ones are relatively new and shouldn't be throwing this error. I do not have a spare Thinkpad I can test the batteries in or that I can test a known good battery from.Read other answers
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T440. I have replaced the trackpad with an older style trackpad, after putting everything back together it seemed as if everything was fine, but then I noticed that the delete key, PgUp, PgDn and PrtSc were not working. Note, the delete key does not respond even when I'm in the BIOS. I find it very hard to believe that I've damaged the keyboard and thus the functionality of some keys has been lost, I have examined the connecting ribbon cable and connection socket carefully, they are undamaged and free of debree. Can anyone give me any other suggestions? An external USB keyboard works fine.Delete Key doesn't work in BIOS.Read other answers

Hi all, I have a problem with the Fn key on my T440. It appears that the Fn key is hijacking the entire keyboard and doesn't let go regardless of what I do. I have toggled and played around every option in the bios including enabling/disabling FnLock, Sticky Fn, and Ctrl/Fn swap to no avail. The way the Fn key is hijacking everything is as follows. ESC key *always* toggles Fn lock on its own, so I don't have an ESC key at all. When the Fn key's light is off, the keyboard (alpha and num keys) don't type anything, but it seems like the keys are sending keycodes which should be sent when combined with Fn. In other words, when I press the 's' key, for example, I don't see anything typed, but a 'OneDrive' window pops up instead. This tells me the hardware key is fine and is getting pressed, but the computer assumes the Fn key is pressed *at all times* even though the Fn light is off. This happens with every key on the keyboard. Additionally, if the Fn light is off, the F1-F12 keys work as F1-F12 keys, which is expected (even though, at the same time, the alphanumeric keys don't work as expected). And if the Fn light is on, the F1-F12 keys initiate their special function, again, as expected. I can toggle Fn light by pressing only the ESC key, as mentioned. I have also installed every driver on the face of planet that is related to my model from lenovo support site. Nothing helps. I'm now typing this with a usb keyboard plugged into the laptop. BSOD happens periodically when I clamshell my new laptop.
I've followed other threads and am attaching the file generated a log file (attached).
I've installed the Lenovo tools and updated all drivers and bios.
Thanks for your help.
The BSOD blames the driver to Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. Can you update it? It seems that the Intel? PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth? technology for Windows 7* 64-bit (WP) and Intel? PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7* will work for you. Try to install ithose.
Also free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver SynTPEnh.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Report us for any further BSOD after doing these two.
Can someone please look in the BIOS under startup and see if something appears under HDD2 even though there is nothing there.

Good evening, I recently purchased a Thinkpad T440 and I need your help to fix a small issue. As a finance person I need to use the F1, F2, ....., F12 keys on a regular basis. My issue is that I need to always use FN+F1, FN+F2, ....., FN+F12 to work, which is not the most convenient thing to do. Is there any way to switch these two? Going in the BIOS offers me only the opportunity to switch between Ctrl and Fn. Best regards, JG

Hi, I have a Thinkpad T440 20B7 with a mechanical HD and wanted to install the OS (Windows 10) on the Transcend MTS400 M.2 SSD located in the internal PCI slot, to boot from that SSD. So I cloned the HD to the SSD and then used EasyBCD to make the SSD bootable. After reboot I am blocked! A boot selection menu (from EasyBCD, I didn't install any) appears, and whatever I select, the screen blackens a short moment and it loops back to the same boot menu, I can't get beyond. I took the flash drive out of the slot, changed the boot order in BIOS/STARTUP -- same.I tried to boot from an external DVD with a recovery disk - sameI downloaded Easy Recovery Essentials -- paid another 20 dollars for it -- copied it to a CD -- sameI used the NeoSmart tool to copy it to a USB stick-- same Whatever boot option I use, the screen blackens for a short moment and then it loops back to the boot menu. I can't even access the HD to reformat it. Does anyone have an idea how to force access to the harddisk? Thanks for your help!Read other answers

Is there any way I can reassign a key on the keyboard for this, or in some way get this function on the keyboard?Kind regards, Tor

Hi I just got my new T440 today. After the automatic installation of win 7 the trackpoint did not work. Then i looked in the control panal -> mouse -> thinkPad and saw that both the trackpoint touchpad were enabled. In order to fix the problem I downloaded the latest ultranav driver -> uninstalled the old version -> rebooted -> installed the new version - > rebooted, but it still does not work. As far as I can see all the functionality (the different gesture commands) of the touchpad is working so I guess the ultranav driver is correctly installed. Does any one have and idea what could be the problem? Thanks in advance!
Just updated the bios with no luck. I also checked that the trackpoint is enabled in the bios.Read other 3 answers

My T440 has an issue where the keyboard, mouse trackpad/trackpoint, and LCD all don't work. However, the mouse, keyboard, and display are all working perfectly with external USB/VGA devices, and the keyboard lights up during the boot. I am able to log in via the fingerprint scanner. This makes me think that maybe the lid sensor is convinced that it's closed. Is this a reasonable hypothesis? What are my options for fixing this?Read other answers

I?m sorry to hear that webcam of your Lenovo ThinkPad T440 is not working properly.
Go to Control panel-> device manager -> Imaging devices and check if there is any driver with a yellow mark. Check in BIOS if integrated camera is enabled there.
Press FN+F6 to open the Communications settings window and press Show my video image button to enable the camera.
Go into Lenovo Settings App on Metro view, and select camera.
There will be the options of Private and Normal.
Also, in Settings > Permissions, make sure that Skype and other similar apps have permission to access the Webcam or Microphone.
Go to testmycam and check if camera works there. This will help you to isolate if the issue is just with Skype or in general with the webcam.
Hope it helps!

some t440 motherboards have onboard memory - some do not. If your board has onboard memory, you have a free slot. If you do not have onboard memory, you have a 4gb dimm which can be replaced by a 8gb dimm.Read other 1 answers

I would like my screen on the T440 to be visible on an external screen (Philips TV) using the HDMI connection from the dock. I have read the other contributions containing the upgrad to firmware 2.30, but the solution is not stable.Occasionally, using this sequence would give a result, but seldom:1. Apply power to TV set, but do not turn it on2. Apply power to the Ultra dock3. Place the T440 in the dock and turn it on (usually from sleep)4. Turn on the TVBut on most occasions, both screens turn black, and it is not possible to get any picture on either PC or TV (which just states "no signal")When it works, both picture and sound comes over fine (in control panel, the TV sound function has to be set active)Connecting the TV directly from the T440 using a dvi-hdmi converter cable works flawlessly. Hi, I've planned to buy a good LTE WWAN adapter for my T440 recently, but going though many negative opinions on officially supported EM7345 I think it's point less to spend many on it. I really like EM7455 but I am sure I will fall into the problem with "unsupported WWAN card ..." which I know I can work around, but would prefer a clean solution instead. Is there any good alternative to EM7345 for T440 to get it working out of the box? Ideal would be official BIOS with EM7455 enabled in BIOS whitelist, which I believe is unlikely.Read other answers

The recent file on the support site is gjuj26us.iso (https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/gjuj26us.iso) enstead of gjuj23us.iso you mention. It's HASH value is below (the same result is according to MD5 algorithm):
