Internet Explorer Website Security on Windows 10

Q: Internet Explorer Website Security on Windows 10

End users access a website and normally after they answer security questions for the website they can check "remember this computer" and they will not be prompted to answer them again. Since changing to Windows 10, when the end user goes to that
website, even though they check the "remember this computer" option, they are prompted every time to answer security questions. The vendor said that it is nothing on their site. Is there a setting on Windows 10 or IE 11 that is doing this?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm trying to fix a classmates Windows 7 laptop that she desperately needs for school. I'm having a hard time figuring out what is going on with her internet explorer. Every time I try and load a page ( Google, Yahoo etc..) I get a error that there is a problem with the websites security certificate. Now, I can click "continue, not recommended" and usually get through but some sites, like the college home page, just come up as web page not available. I've tried turning off the firewall but that has not worked. Any suggestions?

A:Internet Explorer problem with website security certificate

The first thing I usually do is check the system date and time.

After that check to see if she's setup to use a proxy server.  I've seen this cause the same problem as well.

Hi! I keep getting an Internet Explorer Security warning box that says: "A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer." Beneath that message it reads: This program will open outside of protected mode. Protected mode helps protect your computer. If you do not trust this website, please do not open this program. Then, below that message it says Name: Adobe Flash Player; Publisher: Adobe Systems Incorporated. You can click "Allow" or "Don't Allow." I've been clicking "Don't Allow" because I think it may be a virus. This message pops up whenever I try to navigate to a different website - they are trusted sites such as Google or MSN. I'm just not sure how to get rid of it. I have run SuperAntiSpyware which found some threats then removed them, but I keep getting this message. I also ran Malwarebytes but that found nothing.

My computer is running really slow, and I keep getting this message. I followed the directions in the preparation guide and am posting and attaching my logs that Bleeping Computer recommended. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hi, I have been having some disturbing problems with my computer recently. After running a Spy Sweeper virus scan, I discovered a Trojan/Zlob virus which I thought I took care of by removing. Now, I am having troubles with my Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers, as they will randomly decide to not load anything at all or only after hitting refresh at least 20 times. Typing in a URL takes ages and 3 times so farnone of my browsers were working and when i closed the browser window my computer immediately bluescreened and crashed. When I start Windows back up and report the error, I get a report saying it is caused by an unknown driver. I looked into my Add/Remove list and found Internet Explorer Security plugin 2006 and Internet Security Addon, whihc I thought were suspicious. I googled them and found that they were indeed malware caused by the Trojan/Zlob and I read that removing is in the Add/Remove list would not solve the problem. I dont know what else there may be on my computer, but I performed each step as reccomended in the prep guide for posting a hijackThis log file and I am still having these problems. Welcome to the BleepingComputer forum. We are currently studying your log and will have instructions for you shortly. Thank you for your patience.HijackThis is an analysis AND a repair tool. When you fix something in HijackThis, you are deleting a bad entry in the Windows Registry. In case of a mistake being made, there is a reversal for line entry deletions. HijackThis creates a new file which is a backup log of changes and you can reverse the line entry deletion. BUT...HijackThis needs a safe folder to keep these critical backup logs and a temp folder is definitely not safe as you might run Disk Cleanup and delete them. Please place HJT into ITS OWN PERMANANT FOLDER. You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e). Double click on C: If the folder is hidden, click on show the contents of this folder. Right-click on a blank space in the right column and select New > Folder Name it HJT (C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe Move HijackThis.exe into this folder. When you run HijackThis.exe from the C:\HJT folder and have it Fixed checked, it will create a backup file of modifications to use which are easily accessible if restoring any files is necessary. This coupled with Microsoft Edge's unpredictable website loading with frequent Network's internet connection disconnecting to the brink of unusability; nothing; even Microsoft Edge Reset won't resolve these scenarios.

Hiya

Excerpt from MS Critical Update:
Security Update, February 14, 2002 (Internet Explorer 5.5)
313 KB/ Download Time: < 1 min
This update resolves the "Incorrect VBScript Handling in Internet Explorer can Allow Web Pages to Read Local Files" security vulnerability in Internet Explorer 5.5 and Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), Windows 98, or Windows NTŪ 4.0, and is discussed in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS02-009. Download now to prevent a malicious user from using an unauthorized Web site to read the contents of files on your local computer.

Frames are used in Internet Explorer to provide for a fuller
browsing experience. By design, scripts in the frame of one site or
domain should be prohibited from accessing the content of frames
in another site or domain. However, a flaw exists in how VBScript
is handled in IE relating to validating cross-domain access. This
flaw can allow scripts of one domain to access the contents of
another domain in a frame.

A malicious user could exploit this vulnerability by using
scripting to extract the contents of frames in other domains,
then sending that content back to their web site. This would
enable the attacker to view files on the user's local machine
or capture the contents of third-party web sites the user visited
after leaving the attacker's site. The latter scenario could,
in the worst case, enable the attacker to learn personal
information like user names, passwords, or credit card informatio... Read more

Every time it does I uncheck the update listing and check the box that says "don't show this to me again" - but it keeps coming back. As I have experiance using my PC I begun doing everything I know.
After Having my computer scanned with many anti malware/spyware proggrams including - Malwarebytes,RogueRemover,Kaspersky,Avg and few more. I failed to find what was causing this and why there isnt any history records of this.
Doing some more research I found a program to view the contents of the explorers history file (IEHV) what I found is that the explorer goes to this site :

tibia-inject.com/ping.php?id=68085&conf=uwp33&infid=1375893814&infname=lol (DONT CLICK IT!!!!!!!!!)

So far I have failed to remove this but I suppose its some sort of keylogger for the game tibia. I have zemana Antilogger but it doesnt catch this 1.
All of my attempts to remove it or finding information on the web on how to remove it have not been succesfull all I found are known rogue program sites so I obviously avoided them in order to not get anything even worse.

If anyone have encountered a similar problem or can refer me to a topic on how to remove this horribly nasty infection and willing to share it here please do.

Thanks

I was at my friend's house and connected his ethernet cable to my laptop. I checked my email and downloaded a document file and along came a scareware? I'm not really sure how a virus or scareware came into my laptop. It was a fake antispyware soft program. I used Superantispyware and another Mareware removal program to try and delete the virus/scareware. I think these two program did the job, but now my Internet Explorer won't work. I think it is something I did with these two programs, but I'm not sure. This is my hijackthis log below, can anyone please help me solve this problem? Thank you.

i've looked all over the net and i can't seem to find the answer to why my internet explorer won't open www.ezboard.com. I have a problem with shdoclc.dll i believe. Whenever i go to ezboard it says "cant find server." thats the only page that i've had trouble with. I know the problem isn't with ezboard though because i can get on the site on my college campus computers. My computer downstairs and this computer both won't let me access any sites on ezboard. I use Windows XP SP1. HELP ME PLEASE! I've tried hp recovery to see if that works and it didn't. i can't delete internet explorer either. there isn't the option on the add/remove programs list to delete IE.

Your log is actually clean. Here's a couple tools to try, let me know if they work in resolving your problem.

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Download WinsockFix and unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it.

Help! I'm working on XP and have Norton Internet Security 2006 installed. I'm able to connect to the Internet without any problems, with one exception. I can't seem to access msnbc.com. It times out everytime. When I turn Norton off, I'm suddenly able to connect to the site. When I turn it back on, same problem occurs. I don't have Parental Control turned on so I didn't block the site. It used to work just fine so I'm guessing I accidentally screwed something up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A:Unable To Connect To Website - Norton Internet Security

Hello jrube9 and welcome to Bleeping Computer!Try opening Internet Explorer, then going to Tools->Internet Options. Then click on the Security tab at the top and click on Restricted Sites. Then, (underneath) click on Sites and check the list to see if msnbc.com is on the list, and if it is, click remove. This may not solve your problem, but it might help. Charles

Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. After a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 or any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

I'm not exactly sure what the best subforum is to post this issue.

Yesterday I did a clean install of Windows 7 RC. I don't have any problems with this thing on other machines.

However if I go to the website www.weblogzwolle.nl I don't see the entire website. Has this got something to do with my screen? Or with Internet Explorer 8?
What I am missing is basically the side bars of the web page.

Thanks!

Edit: on another machine running the same Win7 RC and IE8 I can see the web page perfectly!

A:Internet Explorer 8 not displaying entire website

Hello Plantje,

I seem to be able to see that website without any problems. You might see if using Compatibility View with the site may help. If not, then see if resetting IE8 may.

Hope this helps,

Hey, this is an odd problem. I Have two computers connected to the wireless netgear router and my desktop connected directly through the cable.

Now I can access the internet just fine, get on games like theres no problem. However there is one website that I can not access from any three of the computers. I think its odd.

I was on one of my games earlier, I said to a friend. "Hey how long has basilmarket.com been down."

The reply was odd, "It's not, I'm on right now!"

So why could the server for the site still be running and all my friends view the page but when I go I get

"The connection has timed out

The server at www.basilmarket.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I don't understand why it would just be me.

I cleared all my cache on two of the computers and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

Windows XP Pro-IE8:

Gentlemen and Ladies:

I have an issue I have been trying to solve without success. I have used and opened a sports website for years called bleacherreport.com which also sends me daily sports updates in several catagories through emails to my outlook express 6
mail client.

For some unknown reason recently, none of my 3 browsers (IE8/Firefox/Google Chrome) can open Bleacherreports.com and when I get the emails from Bleacherreport.com (which I still receive daily) and try to open one of the articles in the daily update,I get the following Security warning Window in IE8 which is my default browser:

THE CURRENT WEBPAGE IS TRYING TO OPEN A SITE IN YOUR TRUSTED SITES LIST. DO
YOU WANT TO ALLOW THIS?

CURRENT SITE http://.b.bm.324.com

TRUSTED SITE http://bleacherreport.com

YES - NO

Warning: Allowing this can expose your computer to security risks. If you don't trust the current web page, choose no.

I CHOOSE YES,the window closes and I get the mesage -INTERNET EXPLORER CANNOT DISPLAY THE WEBSITE!

What gives?? I know this is an active site--Why won't my computer allow me to connect. I have removed Comodo Internet Security and have kept the Comodo firewall and replaced the Comodo antivirus element with Panda antivirus which has cured some some other issues I have experienced but that didn't resolve this problem.

Please take a shot as this if you can--would really appreciate the help!

Respectfully,

manofmarin

I dont know why, but every now and then I get this message when I try to access the website I look after.
It says OOPS! Internet explorer could not find (the web address)

I contacted my ISP and the web host when it first happened, and both said they had no problem with it. My webhost gave me some sites, such as proxy servers to try, and sure enough the website was up. Just I couldnt access it.
It drives me crazy. I cant go in and update the site as it Internet explorer for some reason doesnt find it.
Yet in a day or so, it usually comes right.
I have cleared the cache, the temporary internet files, deleted the cookies and the browser history. I have turned off Norton and none of that made any difference.
I ensured ssl 2 and ssl3 were checked.
It only does it with the website I am monitoring.

Any ideas please??

A:OOPS! Internet Explorer could not find my website

I Just fixed it, I saw this answer on another site

Go into IE Tools, click internet options, click advanced, click on Restore advanced settings and also on reset.
You then have to close IE and open it again.
when the Welcome to IE 8 box opens, I clicked cancel and did not choose any of its options. Now I can access it again. YAY.

Hope this helps someone else.

My desktop computer runs Windows 7 Pro x64 with the latest updates. When I try to open a certain website in Internet Explorer, IE would crash and display the "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message. The error indicated something wrong with MSHTML.DLL.

Using another browser (Chrome and Firefox) to open the website is fine; it will crash when it's opened in IE. Using IE to open other websites is OK too, just one particular website is having problems (if anyone wants to try, the website I am having issues with is https://payroll.payworks.ca).

I am running IE version 11.0.9600.18697. I have tried opening the website on Internet explorer on a computer running Windows 10 and it doesn't have this problem. So this issue seems to be happening on my Windows 7 computer only.

I have also tried using Internet Explorer no add-ons to open the website, but the same problem occurs.

I have used NirSoft AppCrashView to get the event details of the Internet Explorer appcrash, and I hope someone can take a look and see if it could be a driver or DLL that is corrupted:

Hi,

http://www.hep.upenn.edu/Quarknet/summer2008/index.htm

A:My Website Works In Firefox But Not Internet Explorer.

Hmm, if you're seriously interested in creating websites you're probably better off learning HTML, CSS (&Possibly Javascript)... Using publisher is probably not the best of ideas, and i've never been impressed by dreamweaver.

If you're interested in learning HTML then i suggest the tutorials here: www.w3schools.com which can guide you through creating w3 standard websites...

As for the problem i see no reason that it should be lagging on one browser and not on the other. And your images are relatively small so i really don't see the problem.

Cheers,
Jamey
