I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If it only boots with the AC adapter plugged it chances are that the battery needs to be changed.

my laptop is stuck at 99% plugged in,charging.

so here is the story..
i was watching a video on youtube after few minutes the laptop got shutdown immediately without any message, and the laptop was too hot and i think it had shut down because of overheating(this had never happened) .then i left it to cool down ,after some minutes i started it without plugging it to charge .so i checked that the laptop's fan was making noise and running in less speed .after sometime it gets less noisy and the speed was also decreased but when i started a fan dust removal all seemed good ,no noise or any speed decrease, but sometimes it did.and all the laptop's functions and performance it all seemed as it was before.when i plugged in my charger it was slowly charging but at 99% it's stuck.99% plugged in,charging.
my laptop- lenovo Z510
so is there any way to fix the fan noise and speed problem ?
i guess that the battery stuck in 99% might take time to fully charge.
and as always
thanks

Hello and peace on you..
I have a DELL Inspiron N5110 from early 2011
I was using the laptop correctly..The laptop was plugged in and the battery was charging..Then i removed the charger let the laptop on battery until suddenly the laptop shuts down without even telling me that the battery is low or even leaving some "emergency" charge on it (usually 7% or 5% i don't know)..I plugged it in to charge it again and open my leptop and i found out that the battery is not taking charge anymore!
I tried to see if the propblem is with the connector and tried to remove and put in again the charger and it ddid not work
i tried also to remove the battery and put it in again, it did not help
Now it is stuck on 2% of charge from 5 days and it's plugged in!
The laptop says that the battery is charging, but actually it is not charging and the charge level is the same from days
I looked up some solutions online like uninstalling ACPI microsof from Device manager and reboot the laptop..It did not work
"Jauge de batterie" which is an integrated software related to DELL, says that the battery health is good and that my battery is working properly
The laptop works fine with only the charger plugged in and battery out
PS: the laptop heats usually but i think it did not affect the battery at all since it was working fine and the charge took me about at minimum 30 min on high performance to be emptyed before this happens.
Please, i'm seeking for help

A:Battery says: Charging, but it is not actually charging while plugged in and is stuck in 2% for 5 days !

First thing to check is wherther the sysetm recognizes the AC adapter - F2 at powerup to check that.
If it doesn't, try a new Dell OEM AC adapter - if that doesn't fix the issue, replace the DC jack board, and if that doesn't solve it, the mainboard.  Note:  you MUST use a Dell adapter - NOT a third party unit.
If the system DOES recognize the AC adapter, but won't charge the battery, chances are the battery is bad and will need to be replaced.
You cannot solve the issue without checking and, if necessary, replacing these parts.

i have been using this laptop for 2 years i get it from my friend .

from start it always charges battery upto 56 percent.

and i thought that there is problem in the battery cell and in few months battery backup becomes very short.

Yesterday i bought a new battery for my laptop but it is giving me the same problem which i had with my previous battery.

So this is not battery problem.

Things i have tried

1)Removing battery and uninstalling windows ac adaptor from Device manager.

2)Removing both battery and power Adaptor and pushing the power button for 20 sec if there is any residuel current.

Nothing has worked for me so far.

I would be thankful for your guidance.

Thank you

Hi.I have recently a charging problem with my X1C6.Yesterday, I have plugged the USB-C charger into the USB-C port. Then Windows repeatedly notices that the charger was plugged, then unplugged, then plugged (many events in Windows Event Viewer) and the Thunderbolt software (in systray keeps crashing/restarting).The problem continued even with the charger unplugged, even after a reboot. The charging orange LED was stuck "on" even with the charger unplugged (also with the computer off):Charging orange LED unplugged. I had to restart the computer and disable the internal battery in the BIOS to restore the computer to a normal state. In the Windows reliability monitor, I can see many Windows Hardware Error (related to USB-C UCM/USCI system : LKD_0x1D4_COMMAND_TIMEOUT_9_UcmUcsiAcpiClient_UcmUcsiCx!UcmUcsiCx::CxDevice::UnrecoverableFailureEncountered) and many Thunderbolt software and services crashes. The battery was already replaced due to another problem (random 0% charge level reporting). This charging problem had happened with the old one and the new one. Anybody had already encountered this problem ?Do you think it's a rather a USCI/EC/BIOS firmware problem or a faulty hardware ?I think I will ask a motherboard replacement under warranty.

Hi...

I am having a problem with my laptop computer. I figured out that my laptop, when being charged or using the Power Outlet, runs at 100% CPU at times, and slows me down when running and working on some open applications. At first I thought I had tons of spyware or even a virus, and even posted a Hijackthis file here. Nothing was found.
I figured out that my cpu runs at 100% when using the power outlet, or when my computer is chargnig. When I unplug the powercord and use the battery life, everything runs GREAT!!!!! my cpu drops to a normal 4-8% usage with multiple applications running. WEIRD huh? Can anyone relate to this ?? Is this and indication that my battery is going bad???? Can someone help me with this or suggest what is going on? I am running windows XP home edition, and have a compac presario 1500 series. Pent 4..

Thanks for the Help.

Also its a gateway t-6859 laptop.

A:Laptop has problems with charging unless I wiggle the charging pin.

how old is the laptop sounds like your ac in port has de-soldered from the psu part of the motherboard. its the most common thing to break on laptops since they get a lot of stress from the cables pulling on them or they are built cheap either way. is is it still in warranty?

I'm not very good with computer stuff. I know ctrl+alt+delete and other teensy things but I don't know how to fix this. I left my T400 on for four days while I was on vacation, but  I didn't have it plugged in. I came back yesterday and tried to plug in my laptop because I need it for work, and when I plugged it in and started it up the battery in the start menu showed it was charging. Unlike most people mine says it is charging, but never goes past 0%. Even after letting it charge for almost 20 hours it's still stuck at 0%. Unrelated, but I noticed my computer isn't automatically connecting to my home wifi anymore like it used to, and a lot of my settings are reset. Are these issues related? What most important is my battery. It shows it's in good health on the power manager. I just don't know what to do. Help? I don't know if I provided enough information. Let me know if you need anything else. Thank you!

A:Battery 'Plugged in, Charging' but stuck at 0%

A completely drained battery will take a while for the controller to re-initialize. 20 hours seems a bit too long, but you might want to wait a while longer.Check under Power Manager's battery tab. If the wattage number is greater than 0, then power is flowing into the battery.

EDIT: The settings getting reset might be the CMOS battery running out. If the system time resets with both the AC and battery unplugged, then you'll need to replace the CMOS battery.

Hi, My HP 15-AC035TX (warranty was over by Oct 2016), when plugged in - till 30 - 40% it's getting charged without any issues. Then it's charging & not charging intermittently. It's getting charged for 1 min then not getting charged for few seconds.  If i run the laptop without batterires, no issues. Laptop is running smoothly without any disconnection.  I tried with one of my friends charger and the same thing happens. It just goes off the moment i remove the Adapter pin.Initially i thought the battery has gone and looked for replacement, but could not do so being in tour and so used my laptop by directly plugging the adapter. But after i came back, just thought of looking for replacement battery and googled for it, later i came to know this is something else and not the battery issue. Then i looked fr the solutions and tried as below.   I even tried to uninstal and reinstal the drivers of adapter and battery but the problem remains same, further i tried to update BIOS, but cld not do so as it saks the battery to be 30%, find pic attached, help me out at the earliest, thanks in advance.

A:My Lenovo Z40-70 Battery not charging, shows plugged in but stuck at 1%,

Hi rennaveen,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If you have tried the steps mentioned here, them you can proceed following the hardware manual (page 21) for checking operational charge.

Using the battery indicator LED as reference, we expect that it shows amber (the battery has between 5% and 20% charge). Without powering the laptop, have it connected to the charger for 2-3 hours and notice if the battery indicator light would change to blinking white (battery has between 20% and 80% charge) then solid white (80%).

If there is no change then perhaps you can have it checked with any local service center to test the battery integrity first.

Update us ow it goes.

Regards

Hello Everyone, I have recently left my laptop in a car for about 8 hours, when it got to about -30C.I can only turn it on now while plugged in. Lenovo Vantage shows both batteriy condition as poor, with 0Wh remaining capacity. As a result, I cannot use the laptop without a charger, and it powers off after charger is disconnected. I have tried disconnecting them for a few hours, using different chargers, and now trying to use a Battery Gouge Reset which seems to be stuck at 0%. Ironically my warranty expired 20 days ago, so I cannot call it in. I am considering purchasing a new extended battery to compensate for both, but I am worried it will not solve the issue. Any recommendation from Lenovo and the community would be much appreciated. Alex

Greetings, I have confirmed that I have some software related setting that blocks my 1-year-old Yoga 910 from charging. This was not a problem from before. Today, I got my Yoga 910 back from service. (replaced SSD under warranty) and thus I have a fresh Win 10 1709 installation. Problem: The computer does not charge while plugged in and turned on.1. In Windows: Shows as "Plugged in - Not Charging".2. Turned off: When computer is left plugged in and turned off it will charge fine.  I have tried:1. In Vantage:  Does not state that the Conservation Mode is enabled, and I have tried toggling this back and forth while plugging and unplugging the charger - No change.2. I rolled back to "Lenovo Settings" and used it in Flightmode (so that it would not ask me to switch to Vantage), to no avail. The setting there too is off, and toggling it back and forth do not change anything. AFAIK, it is only Dell and Lenovo that ship computers with this kind of software, and since I have a fresh installation of Windows, and it charges when I have it shut-off; This must be Lenovo Software Related. I can even sense it is some kind of software, because immediately after boot it still shows that it is actually charging, but suddenly it stops. Probably after loading some of the Lenovo services. I am at a loss. Can someone help me with this problem? So I just received my brand new Dell Inspiron 15 3000 and the battery is not charging. It says it's "Plugged In, Charging" but it never goes up and stays at 0%. At first I thought I just need to plug it in for several hours but it's been 5 hours now and still the battery stays at 0%. I tried running the BIOS Diagnostics just to see if there are problems and there's none. The battery status says everything is running normally and the Battery State says it's Idle. I tried draining the flea power several times, removing and reattaching the battery, but to no avail. I'm getting really frustrated and I'm really close to throwing this laptop back to Dell.
I read somewhere that I have to update the BIOS but it won't update unless the battery is charged at least 10%. Someone also suggested that Windows 8.1 is causing the problem. I haven't even started using this laptop and it's already giving me a *** ton of problems. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks guys! :)

Hey @EnigmaDimirti, Welcome to the forums. I'm here to help. I would strongly suggest Testing and Calibrating the Battery. Should that not solve the issue, I would suggest calling in for support to see about replacing the battery, as it should not be displaying "no battery is pluged in" when you run a battery check. Please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a case for your issue and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link below to get the contact information for your region.http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html If this helps, please hit that Thumbs Up, and Accept as Solution. Cheers,TechSurge.

Hello, There might be an issue with the adapter/battery or the system board - the point where the adapter pin gets connected. Kindly check if there is any damage to the point on the laptop or the pin of the adapter. You can test the adapter and the battery by referring to the steps in the document. To troubleshoot the issue, you can refer to the document which illustrates the steps to do it.http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00259897 Hope this helps and you have a great day!   I am an HP employee.Make it easier for other people to find solutions, by marking my answer ?Accept as Solution? if it solves your problem.***Click on "Thumbs up" button to the bottom right side of my post to say thanks!***

My laptop hasn't been charging. It keeps blinking when connected and when i turn off my system it shows the orange light, i would leave it for a while but when i turn it on i realized it wasn't charging.

Please provide the full model number. Run the battery diagnostic test (F2 as you power up) in the UEFI diagnostic program. The laptop is old enough that it might be nothing more than a battery that needs replacement due to age and length of service.

Hi,

I have a HP DV6101EU laptop running Vista, the battey icon says "plugged in, not charging" but it DOES charge the battery, right up to around 92% then it will change to "plugged in, charging" and the charging light will come on but it stops charging! If i take the plug out and back in again it will go back to "plugged in, not charging" and charge the battery another 1% more then it stops again, i can keep doing this up till 99% then i cant get it any further.

What the hells going on?! Somebody please help!

Regards,

Adam

Hey so Ive been reading through loads of articles and nothing Ive read so far has been able to help me, So I have came to the tech support guys for your awesome knowledge and hopefully to fix my problem.
I have a Toshiba L50D-A Windows 8 Laptop, It's about a year old and it was working fine until today it was charging normally and then all of a sudden it said plug in a power source (yet the charger was in) Since then the laptop has ran out of charge and hasn't started because it's out of power but I can't seem to charge it no matter what, Ive tried a few things like hard resest and holding down the power button but Its just not charging for some reason, I can't really send it back under warrantly since that's expired and I have a load of things I need from that hard drive so if anyone could help me out or walk me through finding and fixing the problem that would be extremely helpfull! At the moment Ive undone all the screws at the back and tried to get into the laptop for battery or hard drive access but everything seems covered up I don't know if it's my A/C Adapart as I only have the one charger, I need some help!

My computer died and when I go to charge it, it won't turn back on, thus, it isn't charging. Do I need to buy a new charging cord or bring my laptop in for maintenance?

I requested a new AC Adaptor replacement as the one I received with my new laptop did not charge it. I received the new AC Adaptor today and it still isn't charging my laptop so it must be the laptop that's the problem, not the charger. What shall I do? Can I get a replacement laptop instead?

On my new laptop 15-ab292nr when I leave it pluged in the battery was at 75 percent and still said not charging when I unplug charger wait a while and plug back in it will charge to 100 percent. If I did not unplug how low would the percent go till it charged on its own.

My laptop is almost 4 years old, I recently got the notification that my battery needed to be changed. On Thursday it charged for a little bit & then it just stopped charging, I thought it was the battery so I went ahead & ordered a replacement. The replacement came today & I tested it & it passed. However, it still will not charge. Could the problem be my charger now? The light doesn't pop up to indicate that it's charging at all. It's the same charger I've had since I got it. I tested the hardware and everything else for it & it passed them all
