I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: problem during installing intel high definition graphices dr...

Hi: According to the specs I found regarding your notebook, it comes with the Intel/AMD switchable graphics. http://www.freecomp.net/m_pages/lapspec.aspx?a=G6-1147sx The only driver you can install is the AMD graphics driver found on your notebook's support and driver page. That is a custom driver that installs both the Intel and AMD graphics adapters. The Intel graphics driver is only for notebooks with just the Intel graphics, which is why it is not installing. Do not attempt to force the driver to install, or allow windows update to install an updated Intel graphics driver, or the switchable graphics will no longer function.

i have a gateway computer and i want to record some audio from my computer. i looked online how to do this and stereo mixer kept coming up. i looked in my sound and show disabled and disconnected devices are both selected and i do not see stereo mixer in the list of recording devices. can someone please help me on how to get it?

A:conexant high definition audio and intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI

The Conexant HD Audio would be the device that supplies the Stereo Mixer, if Gateway enabled it. Some vendors have not enabled it to avoid DRM (Digital Rights Management) issues. I've seen a couple of Dell's that way.

Have you tried reinstalling the Gateway supplied driver? If not, give that a try first.

Gateway Support - Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / NV Series / NV54

If that does not work, unless you can find a compatible Conexant driver somewhere else you may be doomed.

Hi Everyone, Using HP Office Assistant, I was able to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology and Control SRS Audio Software updates. Hi Everyone, I was hoping someone might be able to help. I've just reinstalled a blank Windows 10 image on my Envy 13 and installed all the drivers which are available on the support website for it. I've noticed however when I install the realtek drivers for Windows 10 that this causes a new unknown device (I had zero unknown before) to appear in device manager for "Intel High Definion DSP" Anyone got any clue if this matters? Have I got the right drivers? or am I missing something? Thanks very much for the help,Martin

Hi everyone, I would be very grateful for some help please!

My laptop recently installed a BIOS update - I don't know what this was but since it happened I have been having sound problems with my laptop. After the update I had no sound. I read around and found how to get the sound back on - I did this by uninstalling AMD high definition audio device and high definition audio device. I would then restart the laptop and the sound would be working again. But when the laptop would be turned off, on turning back on it would re-install the above 2 things again automatically and the sound would no longer work.

I noticed that when the sound was working realtek high definition audio was listed under sound, video and game controllers in the device manager and when it wasn't working this wasn't there. Every time I uninstalled the AMD high definition audio device and high definition audio device the realtek one would be automatically installed when the laptop was restarted but then taken off on the next restart. I tried disabling the first 2 to see if that made any difference but it didn't. I noticed the drivers could be removed for the AMD high definition audio device so I tried that - that is now fully removed but I still have the problem with sound.

My laptop keeps automatically installing high definition audio device. When this is listed the sound doesn't work and the realtek high definition audio isn't listed. When I uninstall that - on the first restart the realte... Read more

A:realtek high definition audio and high definition audio device problem

First, the AMD High Definition Audio Device is ONLY for HDMI audio. It has nothing to do with the PC audio (speakers and/or headset).

Are you sure it was a BIOS update? Those are normally not automatic. The BIOS is the heart of the PC and controls the hardware configurations.

The basic Windows installed High Definition Audio Coded/Device is a generic audio driver. It can be installed for the PC audio and/or the HDMI audio. As this is a generic, basic function driver, the correct hardware driver needs to be installed.

Without the actual HP model number, I can't research what actually belongs on your PC. Apparently it is RealTek, but as it isn't functioning properly, or conflicting I still need to research the PC's specs.

HP Supports Assistant shows that I need Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver - sp72370 driver for my Envy 360. Before I install this driver I can see that things are a bit laggy, ofcourse I dont have graphics driver. So I install this driver and everything works fine. However, Windows Update (always) pushes an update to this driver namely Intel Corporation driver update for Intel(R) HD Graphics Family (This driver was provided by Intel Corporation for support of Intel(R) HD Graphics Family), and the moment the update is installed everything goes down. The laptop starts lagging, the lag is visible while opening drives and programs, especially Firefox becomes a mess. Typing becomes terribly laggy, you can shift to tabs, page opening is slow like hell.

Ony because of this lag I had to clean install Windows 10 thrice as I though that it will fix the problem. I had to run ChkDsk for quite a few times on my 750 GB HDD. But then by hit and trial I narrowed down the problem to this Update, and we all know now it cant be uninstalled either. Please help.

I have a laptop with Vista OS, and want to have Realtek HD Audio Driver installed. I downloaded one of the many Vista packages from the Realtek site, and restarted my computer. But I didn't see the Realtek driver icon at the bottom of my toolbar. I uninstalled my IDT audio driver (the default my laptop comes with when it's bought) because I was told by the person from which I first heard about Realtek it was getting in the way of Realtek working. So I uninstalled IDT, and now my speakers don't emit sound anymore. Just headphones. I looked for the Realtek icon, but still don't see it. I searched through google, and apparently I need DirectX 8. I downloaded 9 because it was listed as the version specifically for Vista. I reinstalled Realtek again, and again restarted my computer. I still don't see the icon. What did I do wrong? Please help me, I can't find anyone else with this problem but me...

I downloaded these drivers:
Sound: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ (High Definition Audio Codecs)
and now my headphones or mic doesnt work. I can right click on my sound thing in the bottom right, and i can see speakers, headphones, and digital output devices. And when i goto properties of the headphones, then advanced, and test the headphones I can hear sound out of them. But thats the only time I they work.

Its like my computer doesnt recognize when I plug them in anymore, and i dont get that little message saying audio device plugged in. So my computer just keeps putting sound out of the speakers even when my headphones are plugged in.

Any help?

I think my question is this: how do I set up VSX-1124 (a Pioneer AVR) in Control Panel/Sound and Hardware/Sound so that its driver is Realtek HD Audio and not the Intel Display Audio one?

In Device Manager under Sound, Video and game controllers, I have two sound card drivers, Realtek High Definition and Intel Display Audio. I don't understand how Realtek High Definition Audio drivers work in relation to the Intel Display Audio drivers. If I go to Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound then Playback, there are four options, as you can see from the picture below.

I'm guessing that if I choose the receiver as my default device that I'm using the Intel Display Audio drivers and any of the other three options that I'm using the Realtek drivers. Is this correct? If the receiver is the default device, everything works fine; I get sound from sites like cnn.com and I can listen to internet radio, etc. However, if Speakers are the default device, I don't get sound. Is this normal? If so, what's the reason for having Realtek? If it isn't normal, will I notice a difference if I use the Realtek drivers? If I would see/hear a difference, how do I get them to work?

A:Realtek High Definition Audio and Intel Display Audio

The RealTek is for the regular PC sound. The Intel Display Audio is for HDMI sound. If an HDMI cable is plugged in Windows will automatically default to the HDMI as the "default playback device". If you have an HDMI cable plugged in and want the PC sound you must manually change the playback device. If you want both HDMI and PC audio, you can't have that as Windows will only allow one default audio playback device.

Does this answer the question?

Hi, after a restart of my laptop (Dell Inspiron) the audio wasn't working, I hovered in the tool bar and the sound was with a red X meaning problematic, I clicked it and the window started searching for the problem which was IDT High Definition Audio Codec, I continued by clicking the windows to solve it, but it didn't and the problem remained.
In the msinfo32-->Componets-->Problem Devices it says IDT High Definition Audio Codec error code 39, I don't know what that means, I downloaded a new driver but it was a rar file, I extract it and they were some componets similar to IDT but I don't know what to do, I clicked the setup but it didn't do anything or any other applicaton in that folder.

i just bought a P35-DS3L Motherboard in less than a month ago, installed everything and it ran fine including my audio. all of a sudden i had blue screen, i have the idea whats wrong but cannot fix (note: my audio is still working even though the blue screen started).

i decided to do a quick format instead of a full format because i didn't backup my files. after finish installation of Windows XP SP2 Professional, i reinstalled all my drivers and noticed my Audio Driver isn't starting up after restart (note: yes, i tried installing Microsoft UAA Driver and then the Realtek HD Audio Driver)

since it was a quick format, i thought maybe the existing old drivers have been causing problem.

so i tried to uninstall Realtek High Definition Audio Driver and i start to get the message "Realtek HD Audio driver remove failure". i rechecked my files in windows, some of the files are removed but not all

did a restart after failure of uninstall and tried to reinstall starting from Microsoft UAA Driver and then Realtek HD Audio Driver and restarted after the installation again (note: nothing went wrong with the installation)

after the computer restarted, i noticed the Realtek HD Audio isn't starting and when i check on Sounds And Audio Devices in Control Panel, it says No Audio Device. i checke... Read more

Well, it says there's no speaker output available... do you have speakers plugged into the light green jack on the back of the PC?

Also, what is the USB Audio device? (or are these your speakers?)

Did you install Win 7 over the top of XP or is it a fresh install of Win7.

With your speakers plugged in you can try deleting -both- HD Audio devices in Device manager and reboot.

I had the same problem with my Epson printer. Even changing auto driver settings didn`t help.

Solution: Uninstalled the drivers, then re installed the drivers and software I wanted, then rebooted windows and it didn`t need to install anything else.
Don`t reboot just uninstall, install, THEN reboot, see what happens.

You do have the drivers you want to install ready to go, correct ?

I have a new Dell PC that has Realtek High Definition Audio. As best as I can describe it, while watching videos or in a game, it periodically and with no particular intervals of time, will momentarily (no more than a second) pause and I'll hear a buzz. A:Realtek High Definition Audio problem

That sounds like what a bad speaker or speaker connection would do. Do you have a headphone you can connect to the headphone jack (or the rear GREEN speaker jack) and see if does it with the headphone? That would help to isolate the problem.

We have also seen audio problems caused by wi-fi or a cell phone or cordless phone close to the PC/speakers.

I'm having an incredibly frustrating time trying to fix a royal screw up that happened to me very recently, and am at my wits end trying to solve it. I really hope someone here can help me.

My computer is an HP. I noticed that graphics card (NVIDIA GTX 550 TI) had a driver update, so naturally I started to install it. Fate flickered my power in the middle of the install, and when my computer restarted, the screen refused to come on. Great. I booted with safe mode, and tried to install the driver that way, but it wouldn't work. Welp, I have a save state just before the install, so lets just roll back! Roll back worked, screen is fine now, but my sound refuses to work. Speaker Icon in the lower right corner has the red x over it, and I can't figure it out. So far I have...

Reinstalled the audio driver on the NVIDIA card.
Uninstalled all sound related drivers and reinstalled them.
Jiggling the handle.

Nothing has worked so far. If anyone can give me a hand, I would greatly appreciate it.

A:NVIDIA High Definition Audio has a driver problem

Install the audio drivers. The HP site should have a driver package for the audio chipset.

The nVidia HD audio that you are referring to is the audio chipset for the HDMI port. So you should likely see at least two audio chipsets listed in Device Manager.

The 1GB is barely minimum even for a 32 bit OS. I don't know how much you can install on that PC but at least an additional 1GB of RAM is needed. 4GB total if it will allow.

My problem is that afer installing the Beats Audio software I get low quality sound, but it was necessary for me to install Beats, because my main notebook speaker was not working without it. I really enjoy the generic  Windows driver when I use headphones, the quality is really great. However, Beats audio does not fit my needs when using headphones but if I uninstall it I cant hear sound from my main speaker. Is it possible to play sound throught headphones using generic drivers and Beats audio when watching movie without headphones?
