Solved: Batch convert timestamp of lots of files by fixed number of minutes

Q: Solved: Batch convert timestamp of lots of files by fixed number of minutes

I found programs that will let me specify exact date and time to batch convert timestamp of files, but my files come with many different dates and times and I only need to adjust them by a few minutes.

Does a program like this exist at all?

Preferred Solution: Solved: Batch convert timestamp of lots of files by fixed number of minutes

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I guess I am out of luck.

Hi Guys,

I am running a batch file through the night to copy things between servers (using the xcopy command).

The files being copied are quite large (171MB) and I am wanting to know what time they finish copying over.

I have a Pause command at the end of the script which allows me to see that it has finished successfully when I arrive at work in the morning. Is there a way for it to insert a timestamp just before the pause to show the finishing time?

Hi, does anyone know of a way to line up a batch of video files to convert to mp4 format to view them on ipod? I currently use Videora to convert avi files to this format but I have to spend a long time selecting every single file individually to convert. With all the steps in that program it can get a bit tedious.

I wondered if there is a program which alows you to highlight a whole batch of files and either convert the lot or make a converted copy of them, so I can then transfer the lot into itunes. Any advice?

How do I create a batch file to convert all of my iPod Photo Cache all at once to jpeg. I have SmartIV ImageZipper Image Converter 1.0.2. I have read how to use other software to do this but I can't figure out the command with this software. I have no experience running batch files so please be specific. I made a folder on my C: drive named Thumbs that have all of the folders/files in it. My software is in the Programs (x86) folder. This PC/Windows(C/Programs(x86)/SmartIV/ImageZipper/imagezipperPic FileConverter.exe.These are the instructions I saw:

This link is no longer valid & I already had conversion software that works but you have to do it a folder at a time.

Download http://www.4shared.com/file/50707723...iThmbConv.html
Now follow these steps:
1. Create a new foder called Thumbs as a subdirectory of your hard drive. I assume this your C: drive. (example C:\Thumbs)
2. Copy all the .ithmb files into this folder.
3. Download the iThmbConv program file directly into this folder.
4. Now, on your pc desktop, go to Start, Run and enter cmd in the box. Hit okay.
5. When the black screen command prompt comes on, type cd.. at the end of the prompt line. Press Enter.
6. The next line should only show C:> If not, enter cd.. again to just show C:>
7. Now type *cd Thumbs* When you press enter, the next line should be C:Thumbs>
8. Assuming one of your .ithmb picture files is named T100. (They are all T and a number, so I'm using T100 as an example) Now type *iThum... Read more

A:How to rename and add incrementing number suffix on multiple files in Batch Script?

You can do this with Windows Explorer for the most part.

If you select a bunch of files and then right click and chose rename, you can type in what you want the base file name to be and then windows will take care of adding the number to the end of the file.

Hello all, someone please help me. Through the years I have collected soooo many MP3s and even converted all of my audio CDs from wave to MP3. Well now I have a huge mess of mixed bitrates. In spare time I have been trying to convert every one of these to 192 stereo, but I am getting nowhere. Is there a way to do all these in one swoop? Currently I am using Nero's wave editor, but can only do these one at a time. Can someone please give me a better option? Maybe a program that does batch converts, or a VBscript?

Hi, now that I've got my working batch file doing everything I want it to do, could anyone tell me how to schedule it to run every 5 minutes or so? Windows Task Scheduler only seems to allow a maximum of once every day and I don't really fancy adding hundreds of jobs at 5 minute intervals to it.

Is there a free program to do this? A way to make another batch file to do it for me (although I -really- would prefer not to have to do that).

Any help highly appreciated!

A:Solved: Schedule batch file to run every x minutes

Aha, so I just didn't delve far enough into Windows Task Scheduler. Apparently once you create a task to run daily, you can go into advanced options and set it to repeat every 5 minutes for the next 24 hours aswell. That does the trick nicely.

2. once users have selected the rows to be copied, then the rows are copied from the one original Excel file into X number of target Excel files

the target Excel files are all based on the same template
there is one worksheet in each of the target Excel files

When i modify a file, e.g. a jpeg photo, the timestamp in 'My Computer' shows the time modified as being an hour ahead of the time it was actually modified. The time on my laptop is, and always has been correct, automatically updating for daylight saving, but 'My Computer' is incorrect.

this was happening before the recent change in daylight saving, a few weeks ago it was roughly 50 minutes out, so I guess it seems to be gaining time?

Can anyone assist? Many thanks.

Hey people!

I am almost sure that this is not the right place for that, but after to stay over the subject for two FULL days I am frustrated for not manage to find a straight answer to my needs.

I am a song writer and I would like to protect my compositions by simply adding a trusted timestamp to my mp3 files and prove that I am the first owner of it.

There is a couple sites for music registration in my country (I am from Brasil) that are offering this service but they charge $2.50 per song. I consider it a ripoff once I could find some online services for 15% of this value and even for free. The problem is that either the services I found didn't show to be reliable or it is not easy/intuitive to use.

The two I found for free OriginStamp (Trusted Timestamping with Bitcoin - OriginStamp) and True Timestamp (True Time Stamp - Timestamping Authority) aren't actually file 'timestampers' – or else I didn't understand how they work. As far as I could see after you submit your file (in my case I tried either mp3 and zip ones) they just generate a hash code, probably based on the file header because they do it as soon you submit it. Therefore NOTHING is attached to the file, so it is not certificated. The only thing that's done is that a verification hash is generated and the timestamp is added to the hash and not to the file. Other problem that I noticed is that if I try to check the hash created by OriginStamp with the True Timestamp checking tool the time doesn't match; ... Read more

I have a list of 60 some numbered items that are auto-numbered. I would like to convert those to fixed values rather than relative. In other words, for example if I delete number 40 I don't want 41 to change to 40 and all the other numbers to change. I want it as if I typed out the numbers rather than autonmber. There must be a way to do it, but I can't find it. Ok, So after my friend's I POD died, I managed to put her I POD drive into a portable USB enclosure for ZIF drives. The IPOD format is fat32 so my comp read the files no problem. I copied the entire I POD drive to my computer, but the filenames are in some ipod code like "FFDE.mp3". If I play the song in winamp, I can select "copy to local media" and the resulting file listed has the actual artist/song name as the filename. But I can only do this one song at a time.

I have one large folder on a USB drive, I:\Mp3, which contains 400+ folders, each of which is an album, in mixed high quality MP3 or FLAC (the individual albums are either MP3 or FLAC - I now use FLAC for all my ripping of my CDs, so most albums will be in that format; only early ripping was done in 320Kps MP3). There is one folder, Speech, that contains sub-folders, Plays, Comedy, Languages with either more folders or just single MP3 files. Overall some 4000+ individual tracks
I want to find, cheap or free, some software to just point to I:\MP3 folder and the software will convert all the tracks to 128Kps MP3 and maintain the I:\MP3 folder structure, on my main pc, so I can copy the resulting low quality tracks on a 64GB micro SD card for my phone.
The software I have looked at seems to want to to identify each individual track i.e. 4000+ to "add"!
Any advice please?

Overall, Windows actually works pretty well. It seems like most of what I find most frustrating about this OS can probably be fixed with a few dozen lines of code. It makes me think that either I'm a very unusual customer or the software architects have some peculiar blind-spots.
1. 90% of the time when I want to do an upgrade install (used to be called repair install) is because windows will only start in safe mode or won't start at all. Since you no longer have this option when windows doesn't load completely, it is rendered almost completely useless.
This may just be a side effect of re-defining the repair install as an upgrade to the same OS version, but if it IS still possible to run this process before completely loading windows then I would very much appreciate the editing of the appropriate if/then statement to re-enable the most powerful self-repair feature windows has ever had.
2. When Windows fails to start, it gives messages like "unhandled exception error". This is probably really useful if you already know exactly what function is being called by which program when it causes the system failure.
There is a neat startup option I've occasionally seen in Windows where a console window pops up that shows all the drivers being loaded one by one. If there was a way to make it save each driver name to a file just before it starts (and maybe a second text file to list drivers you DON'T want started), it would have probably saved me close around 20 hours ... A:top 3 windows annoyances that could be fixed with 20 minutes of coding

So you are stating that in 20 minutes, you can nail down in almost 100 million lines of code, what is exactly the problem and figure out a fix for each fix as you break things along the way.

There will always be something that breaks in software, anytime you have multiple groups working on different parts of an OS. It is no longer just a group of maybe 2 or 10 people writing software these days.
