Laptop freezing up & virus scan freezing

Q: Laptop freezing up & virus scan freezing

Hi all,

This is my first post and I am so thankful I found this forum!
My laptop, in the past 2-3 days, has been freezing up. I have not downloaded anything in that timeframe.
At first it was when there was no activity for a while and the screen would just go black and I would have to manually restart the pc. Now, the freezing is more regular.and it freezes without going black but still I have to manually restart. I have F-Secure virus, updated, and during a full scan it freezes. I downloaded Malwarebytes and it also freezes in full scan.
I believe they are both freezing in the same spot: c:windows/winsxs/x86_security-malware-windows-defender...
I tried to target scan just that area and it freezes.

I did a quick scan with Malwarebytes and this is what it found:

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi all at Tech Support Guys

This is my first post and thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I recently had a malware problem which I thought that I had sorted out. My computer has been OK for about 3 weeks – although a little slower than normal.

I leave my PC on overnight and AVG runs a virus scan at about 1.00 in the morning. However, about a week ago when I turned my monitor on in the morning the computer had frozen at about 1:20 am – during the AVG scan. This has happened every morning since then. I have tried running the scan during the day but it still freezes and it happens at different points during the scan. I have run malwarebytes and this has completed a scan and found nothing. I also ran Spybot and this found 1 tracking cookie and Ad-Aware found 6 tracking cookies. I was able to update all these programs before scanning.

I still can’t get AVG to run. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I have downloaded, installed and run AVG 9.0. They all freeze at some point. Any ideas?

I would be happy to post an HJT log if you need me to. I have a Fujitsu Siemens PC with an Intel Pentium 4 processor – 3.0 GHz and 1GB RAM. I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP3

Many thanks for your help

Graham

Everytime I run a virus scan my computer freezes up part way through the scan. I'm using Norton Professional 2004 and as far as I can tell It has been freezing up during random points through the scan. I have tried scanning in safe mode and using online scans and I freeze up every time.
I also tried to do a system restore (windows xp pro) and it wouldn't restore.
My buddy suggested I try this forum. Can anybody help.

A:my computer keeps freezing during virus scan

heres an update :

i tried scanning in safe mode
first i tried scanning in safe mode with networking
the mcafee scan froze the coputer like the rest of the times
the avast scan got stuck on the system.windows.forms.dll file but except for the fact that i couldnt open taskmanager the rest of the computer seemed to be working fine

then i tried safe mode without networking
the mcafee scan finishe without error and didnt find any viruses
the avast scan finished but the system.windows.forms.dll file came up with the files that could not be scanned the reason being:
"the system cannot read from the specified device"

i had the option to quarantine the file - should i do that ?

i dont know what this file is for and i realized that i have seven of these files on my computer but the scans only seem to get stuck on one of them.

I ran a virus scan on my computer twice. Both times my computer froze when the scan came to the same file "wmm2res.dll" which is located at WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DLLCACHE\wmm2res.dll. (The first scan took 32 mins, and the second took 22 minutes so I know it wasn't a coincidence).

Why would it freeze when it reaches wmm2res.dll ? I researched this .dll and it looks like it is just a a component from the software Windows Movie Maker. How can I fix this? I'm guessing maybe I've got some registry issues I need to fix?

Thanks!

A:Virus Scan freezing when reaches wmm2res.dll

To begin, we need you to download HijackThis (http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip). Extract it to a folder like C:\Program Files\HijackThis. Run it, and select 'Scan'. Do not fix anything yet, just select 'Save log', and copy the contents of the log to your next post.

I really had no choice but to bypass all of that and try to see if anyone could find something with the Hijackthis log. Ad-aware froze and caused massive load lag on my computer afterwards..spybot did the same...virus scan freezes continually through out the scan and once it finally DID finish found nothing.Links i click on are redirecting me to ad sites, search file/folder causes explorer to lock up and i have to terminate the process. I am currently trying to fix a Dell XPS Studio 1530. It is around 1 year old, but showing signs of problems. It is freezing often, where you can't do anything. Ctr/Alt/Del does not help and eventually you have to press the start button to shut it down. I started doing a malwarebytes and Super Anti spyware scan, but it stops after about 5 min of scanning and doesn't restart. I am not able to boot into safe mode with networking. It wouldn't allow a Degrag to complete either. I was finally able to boot into just safe mode and am currently running some scans. I am unsure if it is a virus or something else going on with the laptop. I tried to do a disk check, but once the computer restarts it says disk check is complete after reboots, without looking like it completed the disk check. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For about a week my computer has been freezing and I have to restart. Sometimes it works for an hour and sometimes only for a few minutes. I'm not sure, but it seems like it freezes more quickly if it's idle for awhile but I'm not sure about that.

I recently loaded AVG but I haven't been able to do a full scan because it freezes before it can complete, even in safe mode. The log did show that C:\boot\BCD, BCD.LOG, and pagefile.sys were all locked and could not be scanned. I'm not sure if that's a sign of a virus or just a Vista setting.

I've been looking all over the web but there are too many options and I can't get a scan to tell me if it's actually a virus or not. I did go to a site recently that AVG blocked which I immediately closed even though I couldn't see the page, but something was fishy because I got an email from the site to a personal email address. But I'm pretty sure it was locking up before I looked at that site.

I appreciate any direction you can give!

Hi all. I just want to start by saying that I'm completely clueless about computers, so don't feel like you're patronizing me by speaking in layman's terms. Also, I apologize if this is in the wrong section or has already been dealt with in another thread but I did look and couldn't see anyone with the exact same problem as me.

I've been using Malawarebytes Anti-Malware for all of my spyware/virus scanning stuff for about 6 months and it has been brilliant, vaulting very threat I've encountered and my laptop has been running perfectly.

Two days ago, my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop (running on Vista) turned off while I was using it.
Turning it back on I had the usual SAFE MODE, SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING, SAFE MODE WITH COMMAND PROMPTS and START NORMALLY options.

I started normally, but nothing worked. The cursor moved, but clicking desktop icons did nothing. I shut down (using CTRL, ALT + DEL) and tried again. In normal mode, I tried to run Malawarebytes Anti-Malware, but the whole computer froze after 1 second of scanning and I couldn't get any programmes to work.

In SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING, I tried again and Malawarebytes Anti-Malware worked for about 11 minutes before freezing. I tried it a few times and it always froze while scanning the same folder:
C:\ProgramData\...\Windows\Projects\SystemIndex\Indexer\CiFiles\00010022.dir

Hi all, I'm in need of some help here!

My PC has been acting a little funky lately(not showing desktop icons or background on startup) so I decided to run a virus scan through MalwareBytes. It found a couple of Trojans and a Pony, which were promptly deleted but it has been having trouble finishing the scan. Every time I run the virus scan now, it freezes up on different files in SYSWOW64(specifically C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64\uniplat.dll) . After it freezes up, if I try clicking on anything outside of MBAM my mouse goes to endless rotating circle, the screen becomes whitewashed, and nothing responds. Trying to access Task Manager gives me a "Windows is not responding" message and all I can do is restart the PC and try again.

I've done this multiple times today and yesterday with the same result (Including in safe mode). I can't find a restore point that works and I'd rather not have to reinstall 7 but I can if I have to. All drivers are up to date and so is BIOS. I did torrent a couple movies a few days ago and I assume a virus hopped on with one of those.

Just a few minutes ago, on one of the restarts, the PC booted into Startup Repair and told me that C:\PSHED.dll was corrupt and could not repair it. It then restarted just fine, I deleted and redownloaded MBAM , started again in Safe Mode and ran MBAM where it froze up again on the same file C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64\uniplat.dll

I hope this is enough info, but if you need more I'll send it right away!
Thanks

Hard drive dying?? If you have a windows CD boot up with it and run chkdsk /r through the command prompt or use any other recovery tool to see if you can test your hard drive. It could be something else but I always start with the basics first.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled new programs (Steam and Maximum Security), cleared out temp files, defraged my hard drive, removed unnecessary programs, ended unnecessary processes, cleared out ServiceProfiles (I have Windows Media Player, and didn't fully turn off the networking)... The list goes on and even my awesome Google skills have failed me.

Hi all,

I'm having some issues with my laptop. I have a Toshiba Satellite C55t-B5230 laptop.
Specs are:
Core i3 4005u
4 GB RAM
500 GB
HDD - US

I have had this laptop for almost 4 years, and have barely used it up until two months ago. So it's like new. I have upgraded my Windows 8 to a 10, but I was noticing these issues a bit before the upgrade. Such as slow logging on, and taking longer than a minute for programs like Open Office or Skype to open. Now, it's just getting worse. Slow log on, takes forever for Firefox or Chrome to pop up. If I am watching a video, the video is all choppy (it's not the internet, because I will pull out my phone, pull up the same video, and the video will play smoothly) and my mouse will lag when moving it across the screen, WHILE the video is playing. File Explorer keeps opening, I constantly have to close it when I am using the laptop. When I log off, some things will be still running and I have to click Shut Down Anyway when shutting down my laptop. And sometimes it takes awhile for my computer to shut down. (It's not updating, it's just a typical shut down. About half an hour. But this isn't a constant thing)
Also, Command Prompt used to flash behind programs, but that seems to have stopped.
I have performed a Avira anti virus scan, I have run CCleaner and Malwarebytes. Everything comes up clean. I don't know what else to do, my knowledge of computers is not particularly vast. Can anyone assist m... Read more

Hello once again. I've been here too much lately and have found yet another problem. Every time I run HT it freezes up right after a scan. Can't do anything after that.

I've installed Spyware Guard and IE Spyad and it seems that this started happening after that although I can't be certain.

Any thoughts?

The cause was some kind of conflict with IE-Spyad. Once I uninstalled that HT worked just fine.

When I initiate a manual scan from the web administration console, everything is fine but when I initiate a manual scan from the computer antivirus console themselves, the computers hang after approximately 6 mins. into the scan. I then have to force reboot the pc from that point.

As soon as the program froze, I took a force keyboard dump file (minidump and kernel memory dump files) to proceed in troubleshooting but I really don't have experience in reading dump files. Can you guys help me here? I only have the dump files with me because this is actually for my friend's computers which I don't have access to.

Thanks.

A:Antivirus manual scan freezing

sounds to me like the the anti virus program may just need to be completely uninstalled and then reinstalled; as something obviously is causing to freeze; but reinstalling it may just solve the issue. Try that if you can and report back.

Hi, I'm pretty sure I downloaded a bad file, and now I can't run malewarebytes (it freezes during the scanning process). I got a memory dump blue screen last night and was able to reboot in safe mode. From there I tried to scan with malwarebytes and had the same problem. I am able to do a quick scan which shows no results, but the full scan does not work. I've tried to back up my files (I have been able to get some) but again, everything just freezes. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

I've been real careful and somehow have managed to never get hit by serious malware, but they finally got me, I was able to do a "quick scan" using malwarebytes and remove a bunch of threats they all appeared to be browser plugins and hijacking type exploits.

But when I run a full scan it freezes on a file in the subdirectory of the standard "users" directory (if u know about malware you prob know what I mean by this) not sure what the filename because it was such a long filename I couldn't see end of it, it was is in a subdirectory named "registry_machine_security" (that was as far into the filename as I could see)

I booted to safemode again and it got past that file whatever it was (it goes by so quick there is no way to see the file but I ran it multiple times and even in safe mode it was scanning through that directory and the same file number (around 47000) and whatever it was didn't freeze it in safe mode.

however around file 120000 it froze again in the "c:\system volume information\_restore\{9D106EB}\RP462\SNAPSHOT\" directory or similar (I cut the 9d106EB dir down in lenght it was much longer I didn't write the entire actual directory namedown, I just wanted to be able to search for that directory in explorer, the other dirs should be acurate though)

I'm going to try getting malwarebytes to do whatever it can but I won't go any further till I hear from someone here.  I wont run combofix or anything I get that.  I'll wait I'll onl... Read more

One of my WinXP machines got a bluescreen for about 1 second and then restarted during a GMER scan, I was planning on submitting a log after detecting some malware. MBAM detected and removed 2 malware files:\applicationdata\avdrn.dat (Malware.Trace) and \local settings\temp\services.exe (password.stealer).The noticeable symptoms were lockups and failed shutdowns. But it only seemed to occur with 1 profile so I also scanned a file that was in that profile's startup folder (not a shortcut). Symantec didn't flag it so I scanned it with VirusTotal. Here's the result. 12 of 42 scanners flagged it but only Trend Micro seemed to have specifics on it. The registry entries that were to be removed were missing. But I just learned that if it were part of a rootkit it would probably be hidden anyway. Could really use some advice. Thanks.

A:Bluescreen and freezing during GMER scan

I found some spyware with MBAM and removed it and found a suspicious file which I scanned with Virus Total.Here's the result. . TrendMicro flagged it as something specific but the removal instructions refer to registry entries that I cant see. Thinking I might have a rootkit, I scanned with GMER but in normal boot mode I always get a BSOD. In safe boot mode the computer becomes unresponsive. Is there a legal bootable rootkit scanner (Hiren's is not legal) or another workaround? I'm wondering if a clean install is the only recourse.Added VT log for easeFile name: updpxe32.exeSubmission date: 2010-08-23 12:43:42 (UTC)Current status: finishedResult: 12 /42 (28.6%) VT Communitynot reviewed Safety score: - Compact Print results Antivirus Version Last Update Result AhnLab-V3 2010.08.23.06 2010.08.23 - AntiVir 8.2.4.38 2010.08.23 - Antiy-AVL 2.0.3.7 2010.08.23 - Authentium 5.2.0.5 2010.08.23 - Avast 4.8.1351.0 2010.08.22 Win32:Crypt-HKP Avast5 5.0.332.0 2010.08.22 Win32:Crypt-HKP AVG 9.0.0.851 2010.08.23 - BitDefender 7.2 2010.08.23 - CAT-QuickHeal 11.00 2010.08.23 - ClamAV 0.96.2.0-git 2010.08.23 - Comodo 5830 2010.08.23 TrojWare.Win32.Trojan.Agent.Gen DrWeb 5.0.2.03300 2010.08.23 - Emsisoft 5.0.0.37 2010.08.23 - eSafe 7.0.17.0 2010.08.23 - eTrust-Vet 36.1.7804 2010.08.21 - F-Prot 4.6.1.107 2010.08.22 - F-Secure 9.0.15370.0 2010.08.23 - Fortinet 4.1.143.0 2010.08.23 - GData 21 2010.08.23 Win32:Crypt-HKP Ikarus T3.1.1.88.0 2010.08.23 - Jiangmin 13.0.900 2010.08.23 - Ka... Dear Members,
I installed the free version of the AVG Anti Virus scanner on my desktop pc. After I did a first scan I probably deleted more than I should have... Stupid of me to trust a scan completely.

Now my pc freezes after some minutes and I have to restart is again.

Some things I already tried to solve my problem:

Make a HijackThis log
HitmanPro
GMER Rootkid scanner
Installed service pack again
MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM)
Standard ScanDisk by Windows (freezes at stage 4 of 5)

Although I don't believe it is some sort of virus, i wanted to excluded it.

I think I removed some critical windows parts with the AVG virus scanner.

Hopefully there is someone out here ca help me. Thanx in advantaged!
Kind regards,
Manolo

So i followed all the steps to execute the GMer file to get a log for inspection but everytime i try to scan with GMer my computer freezes up.

Anyone know why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance.

A:GMer freezing up my whole computer everytime i run a scan

There are varying reasons GMER will not run.Open GMER and deselect (uncheck):IAT/EATDrives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\) Show All <- don't miss this oneIf that does not work you may also need to uncheck Devices and Sections from the options on the right, along with the items noted above, then try running it again. If it's still crashing, also uncheck Files.Should GMER still fail to run or continues to crash, try running it in safe mode. If you still cannot get GMER to run, then skip that step and continue with the next. When you have done that, post your log in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team Experts.

Hi folks.

I've been getting random freezes (some with BSOD, some without), random reboots, on occasion a random reboot followed by a freeze at my DELL welcome screen (where the choice to enter setup or boot options is presented). I've scanned using multiple programs, scanned with Memtest, nothing has found anything wrong. Many, many errors showing up in the event viewer.

I'm not sure what it is, but could some of the crashes happening before windows boots point to a hardware issue?

I'm hoping some one can help. I've collected my dump file and other data files into the zip file (to be uploaded soon). I can also zip and upload my memory.dmp file if you think that will be helpful.

Cheers,
Corman

Hi all,

Have been having some frustrating issues with my system recently. It all started when my system started freezing with strange patterns showing up on the monitor. I thought it must have been my video card and took it back to the computer shop to test it. They agreed the video card was faulty and sent it off for warranty. In the mean time I purchased a new low-end card and the system worked fine for about a week.

I then started to get the same issues again. I returned the system again and was told there was nothing wrong with this card. They spun some crap about the card not being powerful enough to run photoshop (which is where I spend most of my time) and convinced me to upgrade to a higher-end card, which I did.

Unfortunately, this didn't fix the problem and I continued to have problems. I returned the system yet again for a week or so. They tested it (with their HD and fresh install of vista) and said they didnt have any problems.

I picked the system up and used it without problems for around a week or so when the problems started to occur yet again. At the moment the system is freezing, freezing with a strange pattern on the screen (see attached jpgs) (looping audio), restarting, blue-screening (ecache.sys, IRQL not less or equal to, etc). It freezes during vista loading but sometimes makes it to the main OS environment.

I've tried reinstalling vista on a different drive and get exactly the same problems. It freezes and restarts during vista setup so... Read more

I recently built my first PC three days ago...
Specs:
i7 bloomfield 960 processor
4x4 vengeance ram
crosair hx850 PSU
evga x58 ftw3 mobo
hd 6870 radeon graphics xfx

When I first installed windows it started to work just fine but I soon noticed that it would randomly freeze every 15-30 minutes of use, but not on a particular program or anything. I assumed it was drivers so I installed the latest drivers for my GPU and MOBO and keyboard. It seemed fine again until it started crashing again. I ran a GPU burn test and a CPU burn test it passed both... (I tried runing memtest86+ but it froze at like 12%) Then I tried fixing the registry so I downloaded ccleaner and fixed the registry problems. Freezes continued. I finally decided to re install windows so I did and the problems still continued. I am at a loss of what to do and can't think of anything else.

any advice would be appreciated if not I will bring to a repair shop and have them sort it out.

Hello Skytri and welcome to Seven Forums. My usual disclaimer: I'm not at expert at anything.

I'm wondering if there isn't a RAM problem. Perhaps one of the sticks wasn't seated properly, etc. You could open Resource Monitor > Memory tab and make sure all RAM is being recognized. Make sure Installed = 16384MB and the Available + Cached + Hardware Reserved is the same amount. (You are using 16GB total, correct?)

Resource Monitor

If Memtest freezes you could try a quick check for a bad RAM module. Install one stick in Slot # 1 (or whichever slot the mobo manual says to use.) Run the computer to test for freezes. Test each of the remaining sticks one at a time. If all 4 sticks work you might want to go through these troubleshooting guides. They are time consuming but many people have been able to isolate their computer problems.

Hi there!
I have a usb soundcard which worked perfectly a while ago, but since some time this strange bug is causing trouble. Sound suddenly stops, and the VU meter in control panel stays at the same position - as if the sampling point of audio is stuck. Problem is
temporarily solved by disabling then re-enabling the soundcard.
I tried looking in the logbooks for relating events but I can't find any event which may cause this, as there is nothing happening at the same time as an audio freeze - or there must be a big delay of writing events to logbook.
I don't know what kind of data you need to help me solve this, but I'm happy to supply it!

Thanks in advance :)

I'm using Windows XP.
Recently, I've come across a rogue or something of that sort called Antivirus 2009 that first put itself onto my computer through a download o mine, but this time it came off of a pop up, I think.
I've managed to remove it and most of the things it did to the computer, but there's just this one single problem that will not go away no matter what I try. The name of the file is avast!Antivirus.exe and its located in my C:\Windows\system32, if I try to delete it, it will come back on reboot. I have no idea what files its associated it with or how it keeps cloning itself, but it appears in my task manager. I've never installed / had avast. Most of the things I've tried or heard do not work, I'm afraid if I have this thing keep coming back I'm in a load of trouble.
Also, it's weird how this antivirus 2009 thing only comes from popups from every now and then..
I'm afraid these guys have a hold of my IP and through maybe a hidden file on my computer or something they can keep bringing this garbage back.
-- Now, I downloaded SUPERAntiSpyware, I scanned once and the computer just totally froze and shut itself down, I brought it back and it happened again. It seems I can't live through a Superantispyware scan without my computer dieng..

Hello,

I'm going to post two different scenarios that happens when my computer needs a hard restart
My computer freezes completely (literally no movement on the screen or anything, it's not slow it's frozen). And an extremely loud buzzing sound comes out of my headphones or speakers. The same thing as above except without the loud buzzing noise.

I saw that this happened to someone else who had both the speakers and the headphones plugged in at the same time. However, scenario #2 just happened to me 10 minutes ago even though I only had my headphones plugged in.

I built this computer six months ago and it's the first computer I've ever built. I assume it's a driver issue but I can't really pinpoint the problem since no BSOD appears on the screen and I have no higher computer knowledge.

I'm attaching the zip file required.

Thanks,

A:Random Computer Freezing - Need to hard restart after freezing No BSOD

Wow, this sounds like the same thing that happened to a friend of mine when his hard drive was failing. Replaced the drive and the freezes went away. Even the buzzing noise.

Also you may need to look at what drivers you may have just install/updated.

Hoping you don't have any failing hardware "Motherboard, video card, etc". Those are expensive

Hello - I could do with some advice, I think.

Some basics first:

Dell Inspiron 1525 with 3GB RAM, running Vista

Recently I've had problems where my laptop has frozen during normal operation - nothing fancy, just surfing etc. It sometimes doesn't shut down properly either.

I have been using the radialpoint safecare software that Virgin Media supply in the UK as part of their broadband package. For a few months now the anti spy and anti virus s/w have failed to load, so I have relied on MSE. As I say, some problems have started to appear.

MSE told me that on 15/11/2010 i had a trojandownloader which was removed.

Some pals advised I would be better trying Malwarebytes or Avast. I tried the former and on scanning it stuck while looking at wklnhst.dat (something to do wth MS Works I think). I had to power off and on. It did a chkdsk which came up with a number of actions that looked like it was trying to fix something (sorry). I rand MBAM again and it got further then froze while looking at msvcr80.dll.

Power off/on again.

OK, then I tried avast, which seemed to get about 38% through then froze.
Power off/on again.

SOmeone suggested rkill would kill any trojan processes that might be causing a problem - t did knock off a couple of things (one by sun and another by ms). Malwarebytes again - crashed as before.

Struggling now!

Welcome any advice at all.

Cheers
Steve

Hello, I'm having an issue with my computer.

My computer has started to restart/freeze up on me. The thing is, it has graphical issues once it freezes/tries to reboot. I get all these lines through the screen, graphical glitches when trying to go through the BIOS, etc. The computer isn't too slow, it isn't acting strange, the only thing that is wrong is the obvious freezing/restarting with graphical lines and glitches once it freezes.

My video card has been going out for a long time(I share a computer with a few people and they seem to think the video card is ok, but I have always seen small glitches in graphics here and there), so I am thinking maybe this might be a problem, given the graphical glitches, the horizontal lines going through the screen once it freezes.

When it hits the BIOS, it sometimes shows these same lines with the screen going mostly black.

System specs are:

CPU - Core 2 Duo, speed I don't remember.

Video Card - Geforce 7900 GT 512mb

Ram - 2GB DDR2

Motherboard - Asus, P5N-E SLI

I got this computer a few years back and I am not one to keep updated with specs or talk about them often, so I have forgotten the speed of the CPU and I do not know if I am missing information for you guys.

Solutions I have tried:

Overheating - I used air to filter out all dust/dirt that might be there to harm the computer, I have plenty of fans in there, etc.

Any and all help will be appreciated, Thank you.

A:Solved: Computer Freezing/freezing/graphical glitchs

If you're getting graphical 'glitches' while in bios, that's usually a good sign that your graphics card is having issues - however, I have seen this happen with faulty ram. I'd recommend reseating the cards (ensure your computer is off and unplugged whilst doing so) and see if that helps
