I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there I recently bought a lot of lenovo thinkpad t590's from a company that went bankrupt on an auction. However for whatever reason they put a master password on the bios also disabling any external usb's to load to install an OS on it. I've looked quite a bit on Google already but couldn't find an answer. My main question here would be how to either remove the master bios password or reset it or if Lenovo has a key bios password so I'm actually able to use an usb to install windows on.  All these laptops are in perfect condition but all have the bios password that prevents me to proceed installing a new os on it or even set the bios settings to default. Therefor I would like to know how I would be able to solve this, how would I get rid of this master password as that wasn't provided to me when I bought the lot from the auction. Is there any way to actually do this? Thanks in advance for further information. SincerelyRafaël De Jongh

Trying to reset the password on and old C400, it is asking for primary or administrator password. I have no idea what to put in there, and can't see if  the computer will function at all!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

A:Need the reset for password on Latitude C400, bios revision A06, original password.?

You'll need to call Dell with verification of ownership -- it may not be worth it though, since the call will cost about $60, which is probably about six times more than the entire system is worth.
The other option is to replace the mainboard - which is probably well under $60.

Hi guys, I have no idea what's happening with my Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga S1 (it's about 3.5 years old, its warranty just expired). Every time I reboot, I get this weird message saying "Configuration changed, please reboot the machine...". I then proceed to reboot the machine and everything works but the bios options are always resetted! This makes the laptop extremely unusable for me as I always swap the fn/ctrl keys so that I don't have to learn a new keyboard every time I switch computers. If I go back and change the option, it works fine, but the next reboot it does the same message again and I have to reconfigure the bios at EVERY boot. I'm lucky this option is the only one I changed, otherwise someone that would have changed the boot order/graphics settings/passwords etc. would be in a much worst situation than me...At first this seemed like a typical bios battery being out of juice so that the config can't stay saved, but I've now changed the bios battery twice with new ones and this doesn't change anything... It's been working perfectly for 3 years but now it just suddenly stopped working for that reason (by not working I mean the bios that keeps resetting itself, I can still boot to my main OS just fine after). If anybody has any suggestion that would be greatly appreciated. I thought about flashing the bios but afaik it's the latest one, and anyway as I'm only running GNU/Linux I can't run the .exe tool to update it (off-topic but please lenovo have another way to u... A:How to reset the bios password

Good day and welcome to the community.Sorry you're having trouble.
The only way to remove a BIOS password is to know it and use it where prompted. There is no "reset". If you don't know the supervisor/admin password, or can't get it from someone who might've set it, the only option is to replace the system board. Also, if you don't know the correct hard drive password, then the drive is unusable. There are no backdoors.Regards.

A:Bios Password Reset

Hi, Unfortunately,  business machines such as Probooks or Elitebooks have more stringent security than consumer models - they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial No. and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case. If you Contact HP Business support they may be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password. Regards, DP-K
