I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, So I have this Lenovo ThinkCentre Edge 92 and I cannot for the life of me reset the BIOS password. It doesn't let you do anything without it - installing windows etc. I did get windows on by installing the HDD in another PC and putting it back in the 92, so to just boot i have to press F2 at startup. It's really annoying to have this password on.Things I've tried:CMOS battery removal, waiting for at least 30min and then putting it back.Moving the jumper one pin and then back.Debug commanddebug-o 70 10

A:Need the reset for password on Latitude C400, bios revision A06, original password.?

You'll need to call Dell with verification of ownership -- it may not be worth it though, since the call will cost about $60, which is probably about six times more than the entire system is worth.
The other option is to replace the mainboard - which is probably well under $60.

Hi guys, I have no idea what's happening with my Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga S1 (it's about 3.5 years old, its warranty just expired). Every time I reboot, I get this weird message saying "Configuration changed, please reboot the machine...". I then proceed to reboot the machine and everything works but the bios options are always resetted! This makes the laptop extremely unusable for me as I always swap the fn/ctrl keys so that I don't have to learn a new keyboard every time I switch computers. If I go back and change the option, it works fine, but the next reboot it does the same message again and I have to reconfigure the bios at EVERY boot. I'm lucky this option is the only one I changed, otherwise someone that would have changed the boot order/graphics settings/passwords etc. would be in a much worst situation than me...At first this seemed like a typical bios battery being out of juice so that the config can't stay saved, but I've now changed the bios battery twice with new ones and this doesn't change anything... It's been working perfectly for 3 years but now it just suddenly stopped working for that reason (by not working I mean the bios that keeps resetting itself, I can still boot to my main OS just fine after). If anybody has any suggestion that would be greatly appreciated. I thought about flashing the bios but afaik it's the latest one, and anyway as I'm only running GNU/Linux I can't run the .exe tool to update it (off-topic but please lenovo have another way to u... Hi recently brought an hp elitebook revolve g3, and want to install windows 7 but has a admin bios password on everything. can anyone help please!!

A:Bios password or reset

Hi @werkstation  Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting. Elitebook is a commerical/business class PC. Most business class notebooks (including yours Elitebook and Probook) have better/stronger security and they do not produce easy to crack hashes. BIOS password cannot be removed here in the forum - you will have to contact HP Business Support for assistance on removing the password. Here is how:>> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html>> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/business-support.html Contact HP and ask for SMC.bin file. HP Business support should be able to send you a customised file and instructions which you can use  to reset the password. Note that assistance for such issues is usually free of charge for HP business class computers.  Hope this helps. Please, mark the post as a solution if it helped. Let me know if you face any difficulties.

Hi, Try the following. Shutdown the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and remove the battery. Remove the rtc cell from the system board - see Page 57 of your Maintenance & Service Guide. Hold down the power button for 60 seconds. Leave the machine like this for a few hours, then re-insert the rtc cell, plug in the AC Adapter ( leave the main battery out for now ) and start the notebook. Unfortunately, if this procedure doesn't clear the password, it probably indicates that 'Stringent Security' has also been enabled in the bios - if that's the case, there is no way of removing/resetting the password. Regards, DP-K
