I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there! Need help. Obviously. Hope people still look at this fourm... I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 Laptop. Its...a few years old AND it is out of warrenty (so please no recommendations for sending it into Lenovo Repair Service). It is running the Windows 10 update, though it initally came with Windows 8.1  A few days ago I factory reset the computer to wipe it of all files and such. When the reset was finished it updated and reloaded itself with Windows 10. Everything seemed fine at first... HOWEVER, the touch screen is not responding to anything. I can fold the laptop into tablet mode, the physical keyboard will shut off but it will not respond to touches by any means. The Pen & Touch information in windows settings says that Pen & Touch are not available for this device. I have checked the drivers and the HID-Compliant Driver is NOT THERE (it was at first but it was greyed out and gave me a code 45).  Tent mode also doesn't work. I can flip the computer over, and Auto -Rotate will appear on the screen but the screen never flips. I have searched high and low on Google and Lenovo but perhaps I am missing something, a driver update or ...anything. Help would be great great greatly appreciated. Just to recap:-Lenovo Yoga 3 1470-Fresh Factory Reset-Windows 10 64-bit-Touch Screen Not responding-Tent Mode Screen Not Rotating-HID Touch Screen Driver Missing *EDIT: Just realized I made a similar post like 2 months ago...wow. Hi, yestarday I was using my laptop with several opened applications and 1 hangouts video call active.Well, the CPU has decided to freeze at 0.5 GHz due to the generated heat. The laptop of course became unusable, so I closed everything and restarted the system. Once the reboot was completed I noticed that frequency was still at 0.5 GHz. Then I ran an Ubuntu live usb and I checked the CPU: again, still at 0.5GHz. I came back to Windows 10, I made a bit of research and I used ThrottleStop. I unticked the BD Prochot and then the laptop came back to life with frequency at 2.9 GHz (for the sake of precision it works even without turning on Throttle stop...you only need to launch the app and untick the prochot). Now, the problem is that I can use the laptop with all its capabilities only after I run Throttle stop. In all the other cases, even when I boot my laptop, frequency is at 0.5 GHz (and you understand it is working at low frequency because it lags a lot). Investigating a bit, I found that only motherboard replacement can fix this issue.....really? What do you think? Do you any kind of solution?

To start, I have seen the thread about a high pitched noise issue with this device's fan, and I don't think my problem is the same one. I have an ongoing issue with my Yoga 3 (full specs below), where for most of the time that the fan is spinning, it makes a loud grinding noise as if there's something stuck in the fan or the blade is off balance. I've only had the laptop for six months and it wasn't a problem when I bought it - it's developed since. The fan still seems to cool the laptop properly, and I've had no warnings from the device, but it's audible in quieter rooms and definitely isn't normal. I've installed the BIOS update that was recommended for a similar fan issue, and I've used OneKey Optimiser to run the fan cleaning tool several times - nothing has changed so far. I'm not sure what to do next. Should I attempt to open the machine and clean the fan unit with compressed air/investigate further, or should I contact someone about a repair? Thanks Aaron

Hi aaroncawte ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As what you have already described , seems that you have done what is needed fro the fan noise issue.
Noting that the issue is mechanical in nature , please give tech support a call for the needed service .
No need to open the chassis for further steps not to invalidate the seal / warranty and have the tech run further check.

You can however run Lenovo Solution Center for the hardware test just to check on other parts that can also be affected and likewise temperature check at the moment of the noise for baseline data.

Its really trouble me when the battery reached less than 10%, then I plug in power, the Battery Low Notification always showed up (because the charging is intermittent). I've tried several ways which are told by this forum, like instal new BIOS (the latest on internet), or uninstal-instal battery driver on Hardware Manager, but it didnt work. I affraid if this continously happen, it will affect my battery function. Btw, I am using windows 8.1.Have any thoughts to fix that?Or maybe its a problem in the mechanic? Best regards.

My Lenovo was purchased back in 2015, so the warrenty is expired. Still, up until recently the touchscreen had been working fine. Now, no matter what mode it is in, it doesn't detect my touch. I have gone through every Google-searched solution I could find, none have worked.I have gone to device manager, checked the drivers for updates (they are up to date) but the window doesnt allow me to Disable/Enable the driver. I've used the lenovo website, the companion app and my windows control panel to check for updates but no changes to the touch screen. Running Windows 10 (64x) Solutions, or links to other form posts are appreciated.

Hello, I have a Lenovo Yoga 3-1470 64-bit, which was originally windows 8. After updating to windows 10, the audio (Conexant HD Audio) starts to have some problems, such as the need to keep restarting my laptop to get the audio back. Recently it has gotten worse, hence I decided to uninstall the Conexant HD Audio driver from my device manager, with the hope that I can reinstall the updated windows 10 Conexant HD Audio driver. But after uninstalling, I found out that I cannot reinstall it back. The device driver installation wizard will only install for 2 - 3%, then a messagebox ERROR will appear stating that "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the device for this driver." I have tried installing windows 8 and 10 versions of the Conexant HD Audio Drivers, but they do not work. Currently, my audio isn't working anymore. Can anyone help me, Thank you very much.

Hi guys, I am opening this post because I think that it could be useful to everyone who would like to solve several issues related to this laptop. I think that it is a really good notebook but it needs a lot of work to have it working in a proper way.So first of all I am posting here a link of a doc in which I am monitoring several issues I encountered and how I solved them. I know that it is not very easy to read it because its style is personal notes-like but I am sharing it anyone...probably someone can find the information it needs.Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 80JH monitoring doc

A:Lenovo Yoga 3 - 1470 (80JH) - General issues to so...

In this second post I am sharing the configuration to use with Notebook Fan Control software (probably some of you already know about this software if you hate the noise which fans of this laptop are able to do!). I added of course some considerations I noticed in preparing this config. Here we are... Yoga 3 1470 80JH using Windows 10 and NBFC 1.4.2.I appreciated a lot the work done by Mr. Cheeze but I found it incomplete, so I basically investigated the issue a bit more.I did not open the notebook but I found online that it is equipped with 2 fans. So, first step was adding the 2nd fan. Then I started to investigate if we can effectively control the fans and the answer is NO, but we can play a bit to force them to have a behavior. My target was only one: REDUCE the FANS NOISE and consequently their speed, because I think that this laptop is almost able to work in fanless mode (and believe me I stress it a lot, especially in terms of multitasking). Before showing my personal code to be used in NBFC I am giving you some information I retrieved by the Read&Write software (32bit version works well).?When Fans starts HEX values show up at position 6 and 254. These are the 2 actual speed values of the fans.?The target values (so where you have to write the desired fans speed) are in position 86 and 176. I am not totally sure if they are the effective position to write but they seem the only position which considerably vary according to the change of... Read more

I bought my laptop in 2015 and unwarranted, I'd like some help to get full functionality back into my laptop. While the subject states my problem, I do have some ways of getting use out of the computer:It can turn on if the battery is fully drained and after the computer is plugged in; it takes 8 days to drain. [Pressing and holding the power button only results in the PC flashing its backlit keyboard.] The battery can recharge and the PC can run on battery just as long the PC does not shut down, go to sleep, or the lid closes.Battery removal with the PC plugged in: the PC can always turn on, but when closing the lid or shutting it off, the power cord has to be unplugged and plugged back in.Additional computer information:-Windows 8.1 with updates-Installed BIOS update and Windows hotfix update from Lenovo.com

My Lenovo yoga 3 will often go to a blank screen when I am working on it writing a paper or something. When it goes blank, I have to wait a few seconds and then I can hit a key on the laptop to make the login screen appear and login again. Sometimes it will happen just once, but often it will happen multiple times even within a minute. Any idea how to fix this so it quits blanking out on me? Please and thank you!

Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga 510 that was recently purchased about 3 months ago. Today, I could not login to both of my user accounts as it wanted to log out of my accounts due to somewhat low storage. However, both accounts were already logged out. I did try logging in once again, before trying to reboot but, the same message came up again. I have tried rebooting in various ways, pressing many F keys each time I switched it on and off. The "carrying automatic repair" and BIOS did pop up at first (after putting a blunt pin in) but, after waiting for a while I realised it did not work as there was a blank, black screen. I also tried following Youtube videos and searching up information regarding Yoga 510 but nothing seemed to be helping. What should I do? How do I restart my laptop? Please help.  All advices are much appreciated, thank you very much! P.S. Sorry if I put too much information in, wanted to explain my problem as much as possible. Also, is there any specific F keys I should press? I pressed F1, F2, FN+F10, F10, F9 and F12.

Hello, the warranty has expired on our Yoga 500-15ISK, so I wanted to change the HDD for SSD to boost the performance. I have opened the chassis and replaced disk by a new cloned one. Not only the machine doesn't boot, it even doesn't write anything, doesn't switch on the display and any ways to enter the BIOS are unsuccessful. The keyboard backlight works and after a while, the fan goes to the high speeds, but that's all, nothing else. So, I have put the old disk back and it doesn't work with old disk either. It also doesn't work even if there is no disk.  I have tried several things, from disconnecting the battery, reseating the memory, disconnecting the RTC battery, pressing the power button for tens of seconds. A few months ago the laptop was serviced under warranty for the very same problem. That time, after the reboot following the Windows update(?), the laptop ended in the very same state without any physical intervention. The service wrote they changed the motherboard and the problem vanished. But, here it is again. The problem is similar to this guy's:https://superuser.com/questions/1146993/install-cloned-ssd-wont-boot-black-screen-only(but, to me reverting back to the old disk doesn't help). I would be grateful for any help. Thank you,Vlasta

My ~2 week old Lenovo Flex 5's screen started to flicker a few days ago and the issue has become progressively worse since then to a point where most of the screen is covered by black flickering at times. The computer starts fine, but when the computer is moved and especially when the screen is moved up or down the flickering appears. Sometimes the flickering only starts after the computer has been on for a few hours (restarting the PC fixes the issue for a short while). I have tried updating to the latest Intel graphics drivers in the device manager to no avail. I then tried uninstalling the display drivers from the device manager, that only seemed to work for a short while. Is this a faulty screen that should be RMA'd immediately or is it likely a software-related issue?

Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

Hi,  I've had my lenovo yoga 3 1470 for just over a year, and so unfortunately I'm out of warranty.  I am running Windows 10. All of a sudden, I have no audio at all on my laptop; the task bar icon has a red cross next to it, and either says 'no audio device is installed' or 'no speakers or headphones are plugged in'.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, and even a clean install of Windows 10, but nothing has fixed the problem.  The powerbeep in the BIOS settings still makes a sound, so is this a motherboard issue? How can I get it fixed? I am not particularly computer-savvy, but would appreciate any help at all, thank you.

Hi,     My daughter's laptop has had no sound since a Windows 10 update back in April.  After backing out the update, I was able to get sound back by reinstalling the drivers and then the update in question.  I found it on a Windows forum for that update.  Everything was fine until the next major updaet and it started up again.  This time the troubleshooter is giving some messages I have never seen before.  This includes 2 messages that are making me think it is a registry problem.  Which is not out of the realm since it happened with Windows updates.      Included is a photo of what the troubleshooter found.      I have seen another post of no sound with the same model.  Just like hers, there is the red "x" over the speaker in the task bar.  When I right click the speaker icon the menu says "Speaker setup (UNKNOWN)", "Sounds" and "Troubleshoot sound problems".  When you hover the mouse over "Speaker setup (UNKNOWN)" it says "Off".  When you click "Sounds" sound box opens.  The playback and recording tabs both say "No audio devices are installed" and all the buttons (configure, set as default, properties and apply) are all greyed out.  When I go into device manager there is no sound devices at all.  I believe I have included everything. Thanks in advance,Dominic

A:Lenovo Yoga 910 wont load pass the Lenovo screen.

Try getting into BIOS first and loading default settings. To do this, press the small "Novo" button (you'll need a paperclip for this), and select "BIOS setup". From there, use the arrow keys to get to the "exit" tab and select load default settings.

If this doesn't work, let me know.

Even tried more than one time and always keep the same;   - Turn it on on safe mode/BIOS (?) by pressing the small in button near the power button, but it turn on and keeps stucked in the same black lenovo screen;   - Turn it off, and press the power button for more than 1 minute. After turn it on and was the same;   - I left it and wait until all the battery was completly dead, then press the power button for long time, and after that connect it to power and turn it on. Nothing, just keeps the same.Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance

Having an issue with my X1 Yoga  riinning Win10 64-bit and all firmware & drivers are up to date. I often plug in an HDMI screen to my machine and when I do and step away for a few mins the screen goes blank to save power etc. When I return and click these or hit a key the backlight on the laptop comes back on but no image is displayed on either the laptop nor the HDMI monitor. If I unplug the HDMI cable then the laptop screen comes back perfectly and then I can plug the HDMI back in and get the image back on my larger monitor. This seems much different issue then the "blank screen" I read up on and appears to be a detecing from sleep state issue in the driver etc. Anyone else have this? Any fixes for this as I'm plugging the HDMI in/out/in 5 times a day or more... This never occured in the past so appears to be an update issue.

I bought this machine in May 2015.  I began to have problems with it not too long after but since I was abroad I coud not send it out.  I finally sent it out in April 2016 (right before warranty ended).  They fixed some of the issues and sent it back, sadly I had to go back before I could get my laptop in May 2016.  I came back about 4 weeks ago and have been using it again since. Today as I was working on it after I plugged it in (it was at 7% battery), I noticed it only charged to 99%, it didn't show 100% like it typically does.  I didn't think anything of it and just went about my work. When I changed stations and moved upstairs I plugged it back in and noticed it is not charging at all. Tried several outlets, and tested the adapter, all is fine.  The kicker is when I unplug the adapter the laptop shuts off too, even tough I was 70% battery life.  Then it takes 10 or more seconds of holding the power button to fire it back up. I am pretty distraught over this. Would be grateful for any advice on what is going on. This machine is basically new! I have used only a handful of months and now my warranty is over! I can't afford another one or repairs

Today I replaced the thermal compound (repasted) on my CPU/GPU cooler heat sink of my Yoga 3-1470 with i5-5200U (no dedicated graphics card) and there are the results: Before repaste: There you can see (orange line) how my CPU throttling. Max temps are reaching 76°C. After repaste:No throttling, max temps at 63°C average 60°C, constant fan noise. Here only compared graphs:To sum up my results, I gained a -13°C lower temps at the CPU full load 10 minutes stress test, have no throttling and especially constant and quieter fan noise when watching films or doing office work. Profit I guess.  Paste used: Arctic MX-4Intel Extreme Tuning Utility for stress test/graphs

Does anyone have a Lenovo - Flex 4 1470? (Win10/64bit) I bought mine in July 2016 and yesterday when I signed on I got a pop-up from Lenovo telling me about a "critical" Lenovo update. I am pretty sure if was referring to BIOS update = v.0vcn.22ww / 120 MB.
I clicked for it to install and then another pop-up saying something about it (possibly) changing binaries, etc. I didn't know what that was all about and so I cancelled the downlod.
Today I phoned Lenovo and spoke to a woman who said "they" didn't recommend downloading/installing updates to BIOS unless I was having problem with this laptop.
As I asked, does anyone else have a Lenovo Flex 4.1470? If so, did you get this critical update notice and if you did, did you install it?
I am 81 years old and know nothing about these things and wonder if I should just forget about downloading the BIOS update? Or whether it MUST be downloaded for this Lenovo to operate properly.
Thanks for any help.

I've seen a few times where I have not used my Lenovo for a several minutes it will go into "sleep mode" and I have to hit the power button to open it again. But it is asking me to sign in. I have to turn it off by holding the power button and then turn it back on. And then it will start showing my normal desktop. How can I stop that "sign in" from showing? I never created a password and didn't think I need to do that.
Can anyone help?

In Sign In Options it has "Password.... Your account doesn't have a password. You must add a password before you can use the other sign-in options."
Whatever that means???? I never created a password and don't understand why it is asking me to "Sign In" when I turn in on from the Sleep mode.

I just had this machine sent into a Lenovo Service for a number of issues, including this one. I'm very surprised that they weren't able to take care of this one issue since they seemed to be able to fix everything else. I have all the latest drivers and so forth installed, so I don't know what could be causing this. What's really weird is that I press the power button a second time, and my machine starts up normally with everything running fine afterwards. My computer's Reliability Report has been in the tank ever since this started because Windows thinks my machine shuts down unexpectedly each time.
