Does today's games work with Geforce4 MXSE 440 64 mb ram PCI card?

Q: Does today's games work with Geforce4 MXSE 440 64 mb ram PCI card?

I mean games like unreal2, battlefield1942, Quake3, MOHAA, do they work? How are the graphics, good?

Give me sites where it shows games tested with the Geforce4 MX 440SE 64 mb ram PCI card, cuz i'm about to buy one!!!!!

Preferred Solution: Does today's games work with Geforce4 MXSE 440 64 mb ram PCI card?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Ok, heres the lowdown...I have a GeForce4 Ti 4600. It is installed on my 2 month old Pentium 4 2.53 GHZ 512RAM computer. Now when i first got the computer my more graphic intensive games ran fine with no lag what so ever (Morrowind, Anarchy Online, Battliefield 1942). Now just recently those games have been lagging alot. Even morrowind and that is not over the internet so i know it is not a latency problem (I run cable anyways). Well I installed some less graphic intensive games (Asherons Call), Starrcraft, and so on. Even those have this lag almost every 10-20 seconds! So i am wondering what is wrong with me graphs card?

I had a riva tnt2 32 megs i think, (nvidia), and it was fine but slow and gave a cruddy appearance. So i went and bought an Nvidia geforce4 mx 440. Well i played a game that came with it and after like 7 minutes it froze. i restarted and it froze in about 4 minutes. I figured it was the included game (ballistics) so i tried out soldier of fortune 2. Again it froze after like 15 minutes, then after reboot 10 then almost as soon as i would start a game. I also tried grand theft auto 3. However i have sonic 2 on a rom and it works fine. My other pc games freeze though and i have to reboot. I could tell an error message came up with sof2 but i cant see it. I am in the process of getting some drivers and the like to fix this.

I got a ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro, while previously I had a Nvida onboard graphics chip. I installed the card and installed the newest catalyst drivers, but when I try to play a Game it freezes and it crashes or the VPU Recovery Message appears. I tried the Omega drivers and older drivers too, they didn't help. I checked the temperature with Riva Tuner and it shows around 50 C, so heat cant be the problem. Dxdiag says no problems found.
The slot is a PCI Express x16.
I have a 400 watt power supply while the cards box says 300 or better.
I have a Nvidia chipset, and the newest drivers I could find for them
I have XP, 1GB RAM and an AMD 3000+

And I got the card from a friend, so I dont think its broken.

I hope someone can help me with this.

A:New graphics card, Games don't work

What brand and model is your "400W power supply"? How old is it? Did you uninstall the nVidia graphics drivers and clean up with driver remover-type of utility before inserting the Radeon and installing its drivers?

I have a problem...as if you can't tell. I purchased a supposedly new graphics card--specifically, a Geforce4 MX 440 with AGP8X, as the title says--and had it shipped to me, and it worked fine.

For the first 2 days. At first, it would run no problem, using the latest nVIDIA drivers and all was hunky dorey.

Not so anymore. Of course, it'll work fine when you're using the monitor in normal whateverness, but once you've run a game--say, CS:Source or Word of Warcraft--after about 10 minutes, communication with the monitor shuts off. Literally. The monitor goes into standby mode and it no longer recieves a signal from the graphics card until the system is rebooted.

According to the Microsoft error reporting system (I don't remember the exact string of jibberish it spouted off before hand) It's a loop problem with either the dirver/card communication, or the card itself.

Now, my gut reaction was that it might be the drivers. Of course they're the newest from nVIDIA's site, but any who have much experience with nVIDIA knows they're newest drivers aren't always the best. So, I tried one of their older drivers, figuring that would fix it.

Not so. Same problem.

I'm thinking now that it's a problem with the hardware itself for some reason. I have a 30-day warantee on it, but the people I bought it from are...non-communicative at best.

Before I go through the hassle of trying to contact and return t... Read more

A:Geforce4 MX 440 with AGP8X...all that neat jibberish and it still won't work!

Hmm, let's see, I would try swapping in a new video card. LOL just kidding!

Um, did you already have the latest Direct X BEFORE loading the Foreware driver?

So you loaded Forceware 77.77?

Hard to say, hard to say. Can you rule out the monitor then? Sure it isn't your monitor having issues?

All I can think of is that somehow, because games will change your resolution and refresh rate, that somehow things are not getting set back to normal when done. Maybe try setting your "real" resolution and refresh the SAME as what is set in the game.

Upgrading Video Card-HELP

I just bought MSI Geforce4Mx 440 to upgrade from my integrated Intel video card. I have a Compaq Presario P3 700MHz, 256MB Ram and WIN 98SE. Could anyone tell me how to do the upgrade.
Do I go into BIOS first and disable the integrated card, or do I first insert my new card and then turn on the pc. Also when do I have to install the drivers for the new card. Thanks for any help!!!

A:Installing a vid card, procedure? (Geforce4 MX-440)

Welcome to 3dspotlight forums...

For information about the procedure that you should follow to install your new graphics card check out this thread from the old 3ds forum about this exact problem.

Here's my install problem:

I can't get a new video card to install. I have a Compaq Presario 5011cl, Athlon 1.2, running Windows ME. I'm replacing an Nvidia TNT2 M64 PRO AGP 4X. The new card is an Albatron Geforce4 MX480EL AGP 8X. After physicalling installing the new card, I powered back up and Windows reported that it had detected new hardware and was looking for the drivers. (All of this, BTW, was in 16 color, low resolution mode.) It then prompted me to restart the computer. Then the trouble started.

After the Compaq logo, it reported the name and copyright of the new video card, then the system files were processed (the last thing I saw was win.com) and then the screen went black. No blinking cursor, no nothing, and stayed that way. I rebooted and saw the same sequence on screen, but after win.com, scandisk ran. The system rebooted again, scandisk ran. It rebooted again, scandisk ran. It stayed in this loop until I cancelled scandisk. I have been able to get into Safemode, with a lot of difficulty, but can do nothing. I know the proper drivers haven't loaded because the Albatron card comes with a setup CD with it's own install program - which I never have an opportunity to run.

I checked this site and learned about AGP 1.5v and AGP 3.5v - and I got scared. I emailed Compaq's support and they provided the specs on my system, and it does support 1.5v. Phew! But now what? I've also read about power supply issues. But I'd like to se... Read more

When I tried to install service pack 1, the video crashed on bootup (after splash screen). Only way to get it back was to safe mode and uninstall the GeForce adapter. Reboot finds the card, but does not load the drivers, which results in slinky refresh when surfing. Did a restore to previous point, everything is fine. Each time I try to install Service Pack 1, same thing. I even tried to install new (08/2003) drivers for this card from Nvidia--same result: video crashes. I think the card itself is bad.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ok this may seem like a stupid post but I'm not any sort of genius when it comes to computers.

Currently I'm using the Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440, it works fine.
I just got a vid card from a friend, which happens to be an Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200, from what I heard, a fairly decent upgrade.

I did the whole uninstalling of old drivers and installing 'new' drivers, yet, when I plug the card in and turn my computer on, the screen's all messed up and colors are flying everywhere and it looks like I bashed an LCD screen with a bat or something. I was confused as to why it would do such a thing when, as I thought, I had installed the new card correctly.

I am wondering whether this 'new' card may indeed be 'burnt out'.
How can you tell if a card is burnt out, is there any way to fix it, and, and regardless to whether it is burnt out or not, could someone kindly explain to me the proper way to install a video card (I know the whole plugging-it-in deal, but I get a bit lost with the drivers and updates, so perhaps that's why it's not working?).

Help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have a Dell Optiplex GX110, and I installed a GeForce4 MX440SE PCI video card. I have had nothing but problems. My OS is Windows 2000 Pro. I tried to disable the old driver the computer came with. Hi ScVelocityy,

Welcome to the 8forums.
I have looked a little bit at your dump files and I think the critical structure corruption error is related to your memory.

Download and run MemTest86+, How to test and diagnose your ram with MemTest86+ | Sevenforums.
Run MemTest86+ for at least 8 passes.

This is a really stupid problem. My Acer Netbook with XP worked fine on my wireless network at home this morning. Due to corona virus my wife started working from our home office last week. She used our personal PC to connect to her work through Citrix with a few hiccups but eventually no problem. Our PC connects to internet via wifi due to distance from router.
This week she was unable to connect. Her IT department couldn't resolve it and said it can't connect because it is not cabled?????
So my wife had to go to work, collect her computer and bring it home. We now have our outdoor garden table in the living room as a makeshift office so she can plug her work computer into the router. Two kids and husband confined at home too!

Apart from buying a 10m network cable is there a fix to get connected via wifi?

Alright so here's my problem... I have dual booted my xp machine with windows 7. Also here lately I've been doing a lot of logo contests (i'm a graphic designer and I do contests on crowdspring.com). Well Photoshop is on my XP hard drive (i put xp on one hard drive and 7 on another) and today when I went to turn on my machine, my computer posted, went through the loading screen, then got to the "windows is starting..." screen and just froze there... it wouldn't go any farther. I tried restoring back one day and it didn't work, so I tried restoring back a full month and it still didn't work.

I have kaspersky antivirus and i keep it updated and it was running plus I tried restoring so I know it's not a virus...

Oh and I forgot to mention, it will boot into safe mode... just not regular...

any ideas? Windows 7 still works fine... that's what i'm using now to post (luckily I finally got my air card to work, i guess my original installation of either program didn't work because I completely uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it worked), so i can get online, it's just i can't use photoshop, which is my main concern....

so any suggestions would be fantastic...

I moved a PIII computer hardware into another case and the video card is acting funny. During the move, I had to remove all the dust/gunk stuck on the video card fan (it hasn't been touched for 3 years so all the hardware was full of HUGE dust balls). I put in a new hard drive, power supply, different DVD-ROM (it's not new but works), and used canned air to get rid of as much dust as possible. What I couldn't remove, I delicately used needle nose pliers to grab the huge dust balls caught in the fans and loosened the dust with slightly damp qtips with a bit of isopropyl alcohol (it's all I had), and more canned air.

I did not remove the CPU or RAM when moving the mobo.

I did a fresh install of Windows 98SE (with all security updates) and Gentoo Linux. I used Partition Magic 8.0 to partition the drive and have Boot Magic installed as well.

During the start up of Win98, the boot screen "blinks" midway through, i.e., the screen goes blank for about half a second, and the boot screen comes back. Once booted, the screen "blinks" again when the start up programs loads (explorer, Norton AV 2002, Zone Alarm Pro, etc.) It also blinks whenever I try to access the Control Panel.

I've checked the seating of the video card and monitor -- nothing is loose. I've uninstalled the March 2004 Nvidia driver to the previous version (December 2003) and it still blinks. This doesn't happen in Gentoo, but then again, it's not fully up a... Read more

too load. I bought the Diamond extreme sound card. Installed it iaw directions, disable my old sound card via bios/cmos set up, saved it and re-booted. Diamond's install CD didn't work so I called them, they said go to their website and download driver for win 7. No problem, I did it saved it to the Desktop and Win Zip opened the file. I clicked on execute and it asks a few of the generic things about letting something take control etc.. All the standard answers, but once i click download or execute it doesn't do anything? Not sure whats going on? Diamond says it should work, maybe something in my Operating system? I have an HP Desktop Pavilion a 6257c w/ win 7 installed and windows defender as anti virus. Any suggestions mucho appreciato in advance!

A:Purchased a Diamond Extreme 7.1 sound card today, now cant get drivers

If it is a zipped file, you need to extract the contents before you can install the driver.

Is it a zipped file and did you do that first?

Help! See the title.

I'm going mad because I can't listen to music! I've tried three different mediaplayers (Windows Media Player, VLC & QuickTime) and all three just don't work! WMP won't even play the files, VLC will (in .avi-case even with picture!) but there won't be sound :/. Same for QuickTime,...

Now, the weird thing is that I can play games without a problem and the sound's still there! Hell, even sounds made by Windows -- I hear 'em! YouTube works too!

I'm concerned there might be something wrong in the registry,... (I use Eusing Free Registry Cleaner/Defrag regularly, I guess something was bound to go wrong,...)

Please, help? :(

(Windows 7, btw.)

A:Sound DOESN'T work while playing .mp3/.avi - DOES work with games/YT

Apparently I made a mistake,... Sound in games doesn't work* System sounds and YouTube do, though.

Hey everyone, this is my first post, just hoping somebody could help me. I've just purchased a Nvidia Geforce 7300 GS video card for my Foxconn P4M9007MB Series motherboard. I've inserted the graphics card into the graphics card slot and closed the case.

I'm not sure whether I had to plug anything from or onto the graphics card since it didn't come with any cables or wires or anything. I then inserted the VGA monitor cable into the graphics card monitor cable slot and turned the tower/monitor on. The tower worked but there was no beep and the monitor said 'no signal' and the light on the monitor turned to orange instead of the usual blue.

The new graphics card I am using is the first graphics card to be placed into the graphics card slot on my motherboard, as I think the current graphics card is integrated on my motherboard or something.

Also, I read about the PSU fan have too low a wattage? I'm not sure how to find out the wattage of my PSU fan.

So all help explaining how to install the graphics card/get rid of the no signal message on my monitor would help tremendously.

Thank you in advance.

By the way, I'm using Windows Vista.

I have a field for data a appoinment is for in an access table and i need to apply validation to allow entry of todays dat or anydate after today.
I have tryed stuff like ">=Now()" or ">Now() and =Now()" but nothing works please help
also can anybody help with my other problem about No changes to certain field in a table or form

A:Solved: Access Date Today or after today

If this is the same field as the first post then you will be stuck with the default value of Now() or Date().
If it is a different field then in the validation property use >=Date().
Date() is used when you do not need to store the "Time" as well as the date, Now() stores the Date and the Time.

I have an Alienware m14x laptop with a GeForce GT 650M graphics card, but lately my games have been recognizing the "Intel HD graphics 4000" as my graphics card.

Anyway to disable the intel card without messing anything else up?

A:Games only recognizing Intel graphics card, but using a real card

I don't know to much about Alienware computers. But the first place I would look is in the BIOS. My old T400 had an option in there to disable the integrated or discrete graphics cards.

None of my games will work. I took some advice of a forum because I couldnt get Perfect World to work and changed something in the registry to do with the port. Now no game will work and i would change it back but i dont know what it was previously.
My system restores wont work, wont even undo, and theres only one days worth there now. I dont know how to do a utilities reg scan which I think may be what I need to do, I dont know if its in my pc or on my XP disk. I cant use the disk because I dont know how to find my product code and the person I bought it off has gone to Cyprus .

I've done a Drwebcureit but really I need instructions for a 2 year old and I think this has happened since my last one. I had a Win32 Trojan in the other day and Vundo got rid of it I think, maybe its got something to do with that, maybe its still lurking around. Ive done a Combofix amd this was at the top - WARNING -THIS MACHINE DOES NOT HAVE THE RECOVERY CONSOLE INSTALLED. If anyone can help me, you would save my life, its driving me mad now.

Hi TechSpot folk, and thanks for in advance for anyone who can help me.

I've bought myself a new video card yesterday; HIS Radeon X1650 Pro 512mb IceQ, AGP. I went ahead to install it, and I get no picture after booting up.

I am receiving a signal to the monitor (I am not getting a "check signal" message) but no image comes to the PC. I went to put my old card in which is a Gigabyte 128mb 9600 Pro, and it now it doesn't work either!!!

Both cards are receiving power as theirs fans are chugging along.

I had also purchased a 1gig stick of RAM to complement my new video card, so I set my PC up the way it was before the attempted installation of the new card. Still nothing happening.

Current components of PC are:

P4 2.8ghz (D865PERL)
Gigabyte Radeon 9600 Pro 128mb
512mb RAM
DVD and Lite-On burner

A:New video card install no good, now older card doesn't work either

I don't know about the 9600 Pro but the X1650 Pro should have a power connector on it. Possibly a floppy drive type connector. Was that plugged in?

I have lost my cd rom windows will not acknowledge that it is there although on start up is is shown as being found. thanks for the help with the video card.

A:lost cd-romdrive while installing graphics card card doesn,t work right either

Welcome to the forum Ray and Julia,

Recheck all the cables and make sure they are plugged in properly.

When you install a new video card you have to remove ALL drivers for the old card.
Uninstall the drivers for the old card in Add/Remove Programs and if you don't have the option there, check in Control Panel/Device Manager and make sure there are not 2 cards showing under Display Adapters. If the old one is still showing, Highlight it and click Remove.

Uninstall the new video card drivers, restart then re-install the new drivers.
