i have a hp pavilion dv7-core i5,17.3" screen and the battery is a 9 cell li-ion-93hr but it can't go past 3 hours on battery power even on power saver mode and discrete graphics turned off(always on intel HD graphics)..is this normal?
i never game,just listening to music,watching movies and mostly browsing the internet.

It's impossible to say if it is normal or not because there are two many other variables that factor in. The only way to know for sure is if you had a lower cell battery to compare it to. Considering you have a 17.3" screen, 3 hours sounds like a great number. The larger the screen, the more power it draws. Typically, people with that large of a laptop screen aren't too concerned with battery power, as they aren't lugging it around that often. Those laptops are usually referred to as desktop replacements.

I was a able to SHORTLY borrow a similar laptop to mine, but running windows 7. The time remaining was being displayed.

My Bios version is on the latest version. Why is this happening

I am hoping that someone can help me with what may be a complex question.

I have a spreadsheet, similar to the demonstration file I have attached. In it, there are a range of columns. One set of columns (A - D), shows a list of numbers that are references to items in a store, and it also shows their location in the store, so it acts as a floor-plan. The next column (E) lists those items again to show the dollar amount that those items have produced in total sales (F).

So, what I'd like to do is to add a conditional formatting to show me the "cold" and "hot" spots on the floor-plan so I can see where sales are most concentrated. I would assume that this would be done with a colour scale (using the range of values in column F to work itself out)?

Either way, the figures in column F would change weekly, so the relevant cells in columns A - D would need to automatically change when they're matching cells in column E - F change.

I hope this makes sense, as it's difficult to explain, but any help that someone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone--who's skilled in formula set up,

I am not sure if my formula (=IF(AND(E6="N/A"),"No Data",IF(OR(AND(E6="W"),AND(E6="L")),D6,"0")) is set up correctly--but does not meet my expections.

Can you please help me with this? Basically IF "WIN", copy # from other cell, IF "LOSE", put down "o" (zero). See attached-- to give you an idea of what I am talking about. Hope to hear from you by tonight? I need the answer before tomorrow's games.

I maintain a computer, with W7, in an Assisted Living facility. Some of the residents are doing things like banking and buying things. I do the same thing on my personal computer.

Apart from the usual anti-virus solution and firewall (MSE and Windows firewall is perfectly OK), set this computer up such that each resident has their own Windows logon and password, and keep UAC on default setting.

What internet browser is being used? Lets assume its IE9:

1. Ensure browsing history is deleted when they exit IE:
Internet Explorer - Delete browsing history on exit
Internet Explorer Delete Browsing History - Enable or Disable Access

2. Delete the IE temporary files when IE is closed:
Internet Explorer - Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when closed

3. Ensure Protected Mode is ON:
Internet Explorer Protected Mode - Turn On or Off

4. Ensure SmartScreen Filter is turned ON:
Internet Explorer SmartScreen Filter - Turn On or Off

Perform regular scans on the computer (MSE allows regular automatic updates and scans), and keep Windows 7 updated regularly.

Encourage residents to keep unique passwords for accounts they use,and to keep them secret. Teach them never to respond to email from their banks requesting passwords - banks will never request passwords from customers, especially via email.

I have a cell that I want it to only be allowed to =0 when Cell B4="Yes" (it has a drop down yes or no). When B4="No" I want the user to be able to input any numerical value into C4.

I tried using Data Validation, by putting custom: =IF(B4="Yes",0) but then it errors when I try to input a value in C4 when B4="No"

Any ideas?

"I have a cell" well, there are more than one on the sheets I assume C4 is the cell where you want to enter any value except when if B4 = "No", correct?

Another importan thing, which version of Excel?
I suggest you use the on event and a datavalidation that only alloes numbers in C4.

I don't know how acquainted you are with sheet events or VBA for that matter

I've worked up a Cricket scoring program, and I need a cell value to remain unchanged once it has been calculated. (For the game's aficionados, one value is runs scored at the end of each over, and another for runs total at each fall of wicket).
By trial and error I've got a sort of result, but I run into "circular function" error message on the first operation, but I can "cancel" out of that, and it doesn't occur again for the rest of the entries up to the final score result. So it's not an elegant solution. The rest of the prog's operations work perfectly.

As is plain, I'm no expert on Excel. Anybody have any ideas?

Ok, I've hit a bit of a snag that's coming up every once in a while.

We have a list of ~10,000 clients. When the unique ID No. is entered, it brings up basic information on that client, name, other general details, things like that.

Now the snag is that we then use a macro to save that sheet after info has been entered, and it works by putting the folder as the current month and year if that folder does not exist, then naming the sheet as the client name.

This works all fine, however if the client has been called say "koala house - Van Morrison T/As", then VBA will try and place it in a folder that doesn't exist and crash.

Is there a macro that I could use to go through that list of clients and delete all / \ from their names?

In Windows XP, fully updated, I have several folders full of mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

But all the figures in the "Duration" column appear to be in "hours" and "minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03", but what I want is "minutes" and "seconds".

Any thoughts as to how to change this?

My battery says "1% plugged in, not charging". I ordered a new battery, installed today got msg saying "battery not detected", i shut it down, took battery out, replaced, restarted (several time), same msg. I visited many forums and read many threads on both of these issues. Apparently both of these issues are common with Dell, but the general consensus of the community is that i need to do a Bios update..So i downloaded the driver for the Bios update and attempted to install is, but got a massage that the adapter AND the battery must both be plugged in, in order to do the update..well..how can i "plug the battery in" when my pc is unable to detect the battery??!!!So i shut it down for like the 10th time this evening..took battery out and replaced it with the old battery..the one with 1% charge, but at least my pc is able to detect this one. I go back to the Bios update download, attempt to run it and get a msg saying battery must be 10% or higher to run the update **sigh** really frustrated now. I have seen people say its a loose connection and i should tap it near the motherboard...this did nothing. I jiggled adapter cord, nothing, i cleaned the connectors on the both batteries, nothing. I ran a diagnostic test thru dell.com on the battery and it came up as PASSED...lol..seriously?? I ran troubleshooting..nothing found.. I am at my wits end...help???

this is a new one. it just started happening today.

when i go to open "my documents" on my desktop i get the following warning message:

"this page has an unspecified potential security risk. would you like to continue"?

again, i only noticed this today.

"my docs" are folder redirected, but that was never a problem for some months now. this is why i'm not sure the folder redirection is to blame.

i did run windows update, but i don't know if some update caused the problem.

any any all help will be greatly appreciated.

Help, I keep on getting a "Windows Security Alert" popup appearing that says:

"Warning ! Potential Spyware Operation!

Your computer is making unauthorised copies of your system and
Internet files. Run full scan now to prevent any unauthorised access
to your files! Click YES to download spyware remover ..."

This is currently appearing about every 5 minutes.

Also, I ran Spybot S&D, and it detected and removed Smitfraud.C

I just checked in my startup folder and found 2 programs that I think shouldn't be there "autorun.exe" and "system.exe"

What's going on here?

I am running Windows XP SP3, fully updated, on an Acer lap top PC.

I have several folders full of .mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. To do this I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

The two new columns appear, but the format of the "Duration" column appears to be "hours:minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03" for most .mp3's, when what I want to see is 'hours:minutes:seconds", e.g. "00:03:45".

This also happens for video files (.avi files), e.g. all my episodes of "Heroes" (sad, I know) have a duration of "00:42" instead of "00:42:xx".

Here are two pictures showing the problem with the .mp3's. The first is of Explorer showing the Duration as "Hours:Minutes":

I copied some .mp3 files to another (old) PC on my home network, and it displayed the duration field correctly:

I am trying to fix my friend's computer (the key word here is *trying*) and I ran across some things that I have no idea how to fix. First off, I used Spybot Search and Destroy in Normal mode and Safe mode to try and get rid of as much as possible. Even after doing this, I am still getting the world's most annoying messagebox with the title of "Windows Security Alert" The body of the messagebox reads as follows: "Warning! Potential Spyware Operation! Your computer is making unauthorized copies of your system and Internet files. Run full scan now to pervent any unauthorised access to your files! Click YES to download spyware remover . . ." I have no idea how to get rid of this.

Also, when trying to go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, I find that i can no longer access Control Panel (it says that the operation is cancelled due to restrictions on this computer, but there is only one account and it is admin). Now, Control Panel no longer shows up anywhere!

I have recently developed this annoyance concerning restoring zip files from VSS on my Vista x64 SP1 Box. When I right-click on any zip file within a VSS share I get the message "This page has an unspecified potential security Would you like to continue?". It only does this with zips. Hi ,, I hate to be a bother, I've had this same problem for over two weeks now...

When I click on "reply" to assorted friends emails.. I get from McAfee.. "A potenial worm".. Do I want to send/or not send..

Over the last 2 weeks.. I"ve listed my hijack log. and it "seems clean".. but my question is this..

What is happening. and WHY is McAfee saying there's a "potential worm"..

As I've done in the past.. I"ve run McAfee, Ad-aware, Spybot, Stinger, CW Shredder. and even a Panda scan. and everything seems to be clean.. also, Spyware blaster, and Spyguard..

So, what is this.. Could it just be a 'bug in McAfee it'self". Is it something I need to worry about?? Help please..LOL

What an absolute nightmare, a faulty AMD driver caused me to get the BSOD whenever I tried to play games. When I updated to a newer version of the drivers, games worked but there were graphical glitches. One thing led to another, and I kind of ****ed up when trying to remove remnants of the previous drivers to see if that helped. I decided to use system restore to go back to the way it was on Sunday.

The only problem is that I forgot about this program called "CCoupScanner", which I've heard is malware. I contracted it after trying to download shareware from DOS Games Archive: download free classic games (MS-DOS). It was partly my fault, I didn't read carefully. Instead of the usual checkboxes it just looked like I was agreeing to the terms and conditions, not agreeing to download a bunch of junkware. Today, when I used system restore to go back to the way the PC was on Sunday, the "CCoupScanner" program was once again listed in the 'uninstall a program' menu.

Before, I was able to just remove it by clicking on it in the menu. But now whenever I click on it to try and uninstall it, nothing happens. I want to find out if this potential malware is still on my system or not. Whatever is there, I want to remove all of it. HELP!

EDIT: In the 'uninstall a program' menu, the name is spelled "CCoupScannuErr" from some reason, and the publisher is "CCoiupScanner".

Hi, I have been "fighting" with this die-hard message: "Windows Security Alert - Warning, Potential Spyware Operation".

My OS is WinXP SP1. Already executed SmitFraudFix and ComboFix. I was able to restore my access to Control Panel, Add/Rem Programs, regedit, BUT the message keeps coming back every 5 mins. Heres my HJT AFTER the fixes:

One of my Inspiron 17R 7720 SE laptops (I have three) hadn't been used for a while so I plugged in a charger to charge up the battery. The computer was turned off, not being used at the time. A while later I noticed the battery status LED on the front of the computer case was flashing 4 orange flashes, then white, then repeat.
When I started the computer I got a start-up message "Your battery is temporarily disabled. Please turn off the unit and try again when the unit is back to operational temperature".
Well the unit WAS at "operational temperature" since it was a cold start. When I run the F2 Setup, under battery health I get the same message. 
I tried using a 2nd battery, same error, and a 2nd AC adapter with the second battery, still same error. The computer operates normally off the AC adapter, shows the battery at 100% charged, but shuts off immediately when the AC adapter is disconnected. 
What is the problem and how do I re-enable my battery?

Unless there's some other issue - such as that the AC adapters are non-Dell or not recognized - the flashing LEDs indicate that one or more of the battery cells is bad -- in other words, the battery (or batteries) are dead.

Hey everyone, i have been receiving the "Your battery is temporarily disabled" notification after the laptop randomly turns off. Getting it started again is easy, all i have to do it disconnect the battery and reconnect it and it starts. However at first it might happen once a month, then once a week, now it's a few times a day and even within a few minutes of resetting it, it can happen. It's random at the moment, but it won't last more than a day, typically no less than a few hours before turning off.
So far i have replaced both the AC Adaptor and Battery, and i switch between the 2 with no improvements. I have updated the BIOS, and i also uninstalled the battery drivers, but not the AC driver (it wasn't suggested but i might try it anyway). Still no luck.
Any ideas?

I have a long list of contacts in Column A.

They look like this:

etc... for 200 lines in Col A.

I need to copy the URL address in this list and move them to Col B.

My goal is to have a single list of all URL address.

Can this be doen in Excel?


A:Excel: In Col. A, find cell with text string "www."and move it to column B.

in B1 put
=IF( Left(A1,3)="WWW", mid(A1,5,200) , "")

That will copy the url to column B
if you want to have then all together and not linked to the original column
I would then click on B
and >paste >special >text
back to column B
That now breaks the link to column A
and then , I would just do a sort on column B to get all together

Otherwise the formula will be a little more complex to remove the blank rows

I have a large spreadsheet of info 60,000 rows

In column A I have a range of customer ID's many are duplicated (see example)
each time a ID is duplicated it means that there are 3 cells in 3 other columns with related information

What I am trying to do is compare each cell in column A with the next cell in column A
If the customer ID is the same then concatenate the multiple cells from columns B,C,D into Column E

12345 | 11/1/08 | D. Smith | note1 | 11/1/08 D. Smith note1, Note2, note3
12345 | 12/5/08 | C. Green | note2 |
12345 | 01/15/08 | D. Smith | note3 |
So as in my example if there are 3 occurances of the exact same Customer ID then it would concatenate the Information in the corrresponding Columns B,C,D and Rows 1,2,3 into one new cell in the same row as the first instance of the Customer ID Column E and Row 1

but it only compares two cells then concatenates those two rows so I end up with a lot of duplicated data in column E

I was wondering if anyone might know if there is any way to get excel to highlight the cells when it finds information I've asked it to via edit>find.
Because I have such big spreadsheets, with a lot of text, and numbers, I find it really hard to see where the "found" cell is.

Sorry for the need help asap but I need this for work tomorrow and am pretty stuck any help would be great.
I'll try to explain clearly. In my worksheet there are 4 tables of portfolios. Each column is a month. The rows in the tables are "triggers" and "volumes". The triggers are prices to buy the volumes. For each month, there are 7 triggers (7 prices where you could buy a volume in a month). So lets say in Jan 12, Ill make a trigger (Trigger 1) in Portfolio B for $200.

My goal would be that the rest of the Triggers in that Month will now be "XXX" (or even highlighted red or something). In the previous example, Trigger 1 in Portfolio A,C and D is now "XXX".

I have attached a sample book.

I'm having trouble because I keep getting a circular reference. Like I said, this is kinda urgent so any help (even if its after tomorrow) would really be great- thank you in advance.

So the way I have approached this conditional format - would require a lot of different formulas for each trigger

for Trigger 1
Two conditional formats
1) =(B3<>"") - set to STOP IF TRUE - this keeps the cell where you enter the price with NOFILL
2) =(OR(B3<>"",B25<>"",B47<>"",B69<>"")) - I use this and format the fill colour to be RED

ALL i'm doing with the OR is testing the 4 sections A,B,C and D to see if they have a value in , if they do then turn red

So that set of conditional formats - applies to trigger 1 in section A, B,C,D

So you can copy this Paste special > format - for section A l apply to trigger 1 - Type A, B,C,D and can be copied across the months

now for section B you need the same formula and cant just copy down - as it will move all the cells down , and if you use $ it will need to have all the $ written into the section A for the different triggers
so i had to copy in sections and add/remove the $ - took about 20mins to setup on the sheet

i suspect a macro is needed really

Any way , I have completed all the cells for Sheet After and for the Year

have a look at the conditional format and you should see what I mean about the copying bit
and you can see the way it works across all the different triggers and months

as i say a macro maybe easier - just depends how you are applying it

when I enter data into a cell and then click "Enter", the highlight immediately switches to the next-lower cell, as though I had clicked the down arrow. I don't want that.

Our Tech Support can't solve this one and we may have to reimage my computer. Before resotring to this dreaded option, I must appeal to anyone who might know the answer to this riddle...

Eventually, while using any spreadsheet w/ Excel XP, when I have my mouse over any cell, all the sudden all functions are impossible to use. The mouse has automatically selected tha cell and when you move the cell, it begins to drag all other cells.

The only way out is to ctl/alt/delete and restart my system. We have tried reinstalling the entire XP office s/w to no avail.

Any ideas? Greatly appreciate any help here and I'll throw your name to my manager here @ Cisco if you can help!Cisco

My Dell inspiron 3542 laptop had a very good battery life(>6 hours), but today morning it showed an error message saying  "Battery has experienced permanent failure and needs to be replaced." I updated the BIOS from A3 to A10, but it didn't help! The PC starts only if its plugged in and the battery charge is constant at 82%. What should I do?

It's quite possible your battery did suffer a failure; the Lithium-Ion chemical reaction may (which produces electricity) have finally broken down.
First thing to try is to run Dell's diagnostics. When you first power it on, press F2 to run the ePSA Diagnostics & see if any failures occurred.
Have you tried powering the laptop on with the power cord and battery, then once it's loaded removing the power cord to see if it stays on?
Another thing to try: remove the power cord & battery from the laptop, then hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. Then reconnect the power cord, power it on, then reconnect the battery.
From here, once it's on, you can try removing the battery again to see if it stays powered on or leave the cord connected to see if the battery begins charging.

Sorry for being away from posting on the forum since a long time, though I have been visiting the forum lot many times, without logging in - mainly through Google search. That shows how effective the website really is.

Since some time a very persistent error has been bothering me and I thought it best to come here and post the issue.

After my original battery for my Dell Studio 1555 32-bit computer died, I replaced batteries thrice, one after another (the computer is five years old).
The three replacement batteries were:
1. Dell - exact replacement 56 Wh
2. LB1 - matching specs but 48 Wh
3. Dell - exact replacement 56 Wh

Since the second replacement battery, the Low Battery Alarm has been disturbing me each time that:
1. The computer is restarted with the main power disconnected.
2. The main power jack is removed after a 100% charge.
3. The main power jack is removed anytime.

Since in the first place I never set this alarm manually, I am assuming there could either be a Dell specific registry issue with after-market batteries, though I don't understand why. Either way the irritant must go.

I checked Advanced Power Options under Power Scheme but found nothing that would give me a hint of what's wrong.

The alarm screenshot is attached.

Any help would be welcome.

Rule out the OS and Drivers by downloading a Linux LiveCD and booting from that See if you get the same errors/alarms/warnings.
If you do it could be a faulty charging circuit in your laptop. Check with Dell and see if they have a battery calibration tool. Sometimes completely running the battery flat a couple of times does a "reset" kind of thing.
Sorry I can't think of anything else just now.

I am writing this as I have hopelessly tried all methods found online without success.
I have an XPS 15 bought in France. I move to Singapore and my original DELL AC adapter was spoiled. So I went to the nearest store and bought a third party adapter. Everything works out fine for a while... Now, my laptop won't charge anymore (stuck at 90%). 
My laptop only turn on if it is plugged under ac adapter. When I unplug the ac adapter, my laptop turn off.
When I turn on my laptop it says "this battery charging is temporarily disabled, press F2 for entering BIOS Menu". In BIOS, under battery health it is said "this battery is temporarily disabled, please turn off the computer and try again when the unit is back to operational temperature" I have this problem systematically, my laptop is not heated.
I even bring it to a repair shop here in Singapore; but they do not even have the parts to test. 
Please help. 
I am willing to buy a new battery or new adapter, but I am not even sure if that's the problem.

Hello!I have 2 problems that have happened before and after wiping the laptop and reinstalling W10 they go away. But when the battery runs out they come back after recharging.
Originally this machine was running 8.1 and these issues were not present.I've gone into F5 and run the Pre-boot System Assessment and everything says it's fine? Confusing.
1. When booting up I get the message "Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The system will adjust the performance to match the power available." 

I select F2, go to Battery Information and the AC Adapter = Unknown.
The little light on my adapter is a solid white so it is in fact charging.

2. If I select F1 and go into the laptop ignoring the adapter warning the mouse pad does not work.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and still have the same problem.
I've also checked to see if it's locked, it's not. 
I've tried plugging in a mouse and it doesn't work either, only touch screen

Like I said, if I wipe the computer and reinstall Windows 10 the laptop works fine in both laptop and tablet mode, but if the battery runs low and turns off these 2 issues come back. Any ideas besides reinstalling w10?

I have a Dell inspiron 15 M5010 and i recently bought a new battery. It's not a Dell battery but a Ninja Battery. As i started charging it i noticed it doesn't charge. I thought it was a defective battery so the company sent me a new one. It didn't make a difference.
Is it my AC Adapter? or because i need a Dell battery? I tried everything except update the BIOS because it needs at least 10% battery to run. Sadly i have 5%. Please help.

I'm a beginner when it comes to VB Script and so I am struggling to work this out. I basically have a worksheet that contains information about different staff members. The sheet is set up so that column A (from row 8 on) is their name and columns B to L (also from row 8 on) are other staff attributes. Due to several reasons, there is more than one listing for each staff member (up to 40). The database is supposed to be there so that any staff member can come in and look up their information (or that of any other staff member). However, with so many listings and so many staff members, it becomes an unmanageable database. I could just create filters so that staff members could simply filter out other employees; however, this would create issues. Instead, I have created a cell above the table (say C2) where staff members can enter their name via means of a data validation list (which is linked to a list of staff members on another sheet). I would then like all rows in the table to hide except for those where the name in column A = C2.

I have searched this on the net and I keep seeing similar responses that all say it's hard when there is data validation / formulas involved. Is there a way this can be done?

Hey all... I'm new to this forum but it seems to have some very bright people here... (hope I don't bring the IQ level down too much.)

Anyway, I have a very large excel file (about 590,000 rows, whittled down from over 865,000). Each row is basically the details of each property in a specific county. I've deleted a lot of rows I don't need. Then I highlighted all the duplicates in one column ie. owners name who owns multiple properties. I did this by highlighting the entire column and then going to Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cell Rules, Duplicate Values. I just kept with the default Light Red Fill with Dark Red Text. When I try to sort by cell color or font color it just freezes. The top of the sort box simply says "Sort (Not Responding)". I've read some of the other posts and I've gone in and deleted a couple of the old files with the xlsb extension. (I've redownloaded the data several times and sorted it to the point I can but always get hung up when I try to sort by cell color.)

What can be causing this? Or better yet, how can I fix it (as I really don't care what's causing it... I just want it to stop...)

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

You forgot to mention which version of Excel you're using but the number of rows and the conditional color scheme suggests either 2007 or higher
There is one anoying feature in excel and that is qhen you're processing a large ammount of data the message "... (Not Reponding)" often appears but in reality it's still busy.
I fell for that in the beginning and being impatient like I am I generally tried ending the process to see what was wrong.
I learnt to be patient (with Excel) and let it 'do it's job' and when it's finished . . . it worked.
Did you try and give it the time too?
Without the data and the way you are explaining it I assume that this could be the issue, it's working but you don't see it doing anything.

This is a brand new computer running Windows 7 Ultimate. I can't remember downloading anything sketchy, but the window depicted below keeps popping up. When I disinfect it with Windows Defender it just comes back within 5 minutes. Online guides didn't help unfortunately. Hopefully you guys can.

I am running Windows Vista Business SP1 and Excel Enterprise 2007. I work in finance, so having all of Excel's keyboard shortcuts available is critical to me. I often use the shortcut [ctrl]+1, which pops up the "format cell" window. However, this shortcut does not work anymore for me. All my other [ctrl]+ shortcuts work well, however, so I am confused as to what is causing the problem.

I'm hoping you guys could help me These are my computer stats:
350 Watt Powersupply
Asus P3B-F Motherboard
P3 800mhz Processor
3x 256MB PC100 SDRAM
GeForce3 Ti200

Now for the problem.
I'm trying to get BIOS to realise I have the processor and ram...which it is capable of using...I've read other forums/sites that use the same parts as me.

Processor: When I bootup, it says I have a 400mhz ... I go into BIOS, set it from 400mhz to Manual and up the setting below from 1.00 to 1.20 (max)...that'll set the Processor to 720mhz next bootup, but also makes it run at 50 Celsius!! That's 5 degrees above when it downspeeded to 400.
My P4's don't run at 25c! Why should a P3 run double!

How can I make BIOS realise it has an 800mhz Processor?

RAM: On bootup, it says I have 384MB of RAM in there. There's 768MB tho.
I have tried booting with each RAM stick by itself, and it reports 128MB.
I have tried booting with one 128MB stick, and it reports 64MB!
What's going on there??

I'm at a loss myself =/ Is there some trick with JumperSettings or BIOSSettings? Please help! I can overclock P4's & AMD's, but this P3 makes me feel like a caveman, and I'm not O/C'ing it. I feel like an *****.

Well it seems your CPU uses a 133mhz FSB. If your board can't properly set that FSB (PCI/AGP frequencies too high) then you have your first problem there. A lot of old motherboards had problems with high density modules. 256mb modules used 8x 32mb chips & it seems your board can only use the first 4.

The heat problem would be due to a bad heatsink installation. P3s do not tend ot run very hot especially at that speed. Have you checked for a proper contact between the core of the CPU & the heatsink ?

My office just upgraded, and I can no longer use Windows XP. On this system, I was able to add a separate taskbar to facilitate quick access to commonly-browsed folder locations on our vast network, and another one expedited the launching of useful programs and lists. Each task on each taskbar was represented with a big custom icon to save eye strain. I had them installed in opposite vertical margins, and they were set on auto-hide to keep them out of the way when not being used. Just move your mouse pointer to the left or right margin, and BAM! Sorry for the cliche, but I really got used to the convenience of what I had set up, and I just don't think I can be as efficient without anything comparable.

Now there appears to be nothing comparable in the Windows 7 GUI, and it's making me sick with rage! I see only the option to put a "toolbar" on an existing "taskbar", and no option to create any additional taskbars! This cramps up your one-and-only taskbar, plus the tiny toolbar access buttons require way too much precision for anything that's supposed to be quick. When you've figured out how to bring up that ridiculous button, the list that it yields is small enough to cause painful eyestrain - nothing efficient, much less cool about this at all! I have seen customization options in other OS GUIs that may have resolved some of these issues, but I see none such in W7.

When our website users click on an html attachment embedded on a web-page in IE9, the download manager will not display the "Open" option. It will only display "Save" and "Cancel" which our users don't like, having to save the
html document in a folder to open it. Whereas, when downloading attachments like pdf, word etc. all three options are displayed. 

Is there any setting to tweak , which will display all the 3 options for HTML attachments as well?

A:IE9 download manager will not display "Open" option (only "Save" and "Cancel" is displayed) for downloading HTML documents.

As you know, the Open-Save-Cancel dialog box helps you prevent your computer from affecting by virus while downloading. 
So I suggest you test to reset all zones to a lower level temporarily and then please attempt to download this html attachment again.

However, since you can normally download the other documents, I suspect there is some restriction in the website which you are trying to view. I recommend you to contact the administrator of that website if possible.

I got my dell few days ago. Installed it with Samsung EVO 850 SSD 500 Gb and Kingston 8GB PC3L - 12800 SODIMM.The Windows 10 Home OEM home is installed on HDD 1TB so I decided to use Samsung Data Migration software to clone the data to SSD. However, the OS crashed and decided to install a fresh Windows 10 Enterprise to SSD and deleted the previous OS on HDD using diskpart.Now after Installing Windows 10 Ent OS files. Every after BIOS run, I got BSOD errors "MEMORY MANAGEMENT" + "Page Fault it non paged area" + "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL"
