Preferred Solution: Windows 10 will not download to my computer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have tried lots of time to download windows updates, when I go to the updates page all I get is:

Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software...

Depending on your connection speed, this might take a minute. During this time, you may receive one or more security warnings. Review each security warning to ensure that the content is signed by Microsoft, and then click Install or Yes to install the software.

and that is where it stops. It will not go any further. Page says 'done'. I have let is sit for hours and still nothing.

When I go to Control Panel and click on 'Windows Firewall' the message I get is: Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings.

I am not sure if this is part of the problem or not.
I have recently done a Compaq System Recovery, but not a destructive recovery, just to restore the original files that were loaded when machine was new. Since then I have not been able to download windows updates. Everything else seems to work fine. If anyone has any answers I would be very grateful.

My computer is Compaq Presario P8654T S3000T (OEM) running window XP, 2.40 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4, 512 kilobyte memory, on a cable modem.

My Windows 7 32bit computer may be infected and I'm not sure how to fix it. I can't download anything and google chrome kept randomly closing. When I try to download anything it says "Failed - System busy".
I wasn't able to use superantispyware to scan earlier but now it is working so I am currently running a full scan.
Also, when I try to use Malwarebytes it tells me insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.
Both my adblock and adblock plus kept repeatedly crashing the past few days.
FWIW I checked windows task manager and it says my total physical memory (MB) is 3003.

I am trying to load ms front page 2003 to my new win 8.1 os without success. (I run a web site on this old software) Next I thought of downloading office 2003 to see if this would help, both being part of office 2003.
I am getting conflicting opinions as to this working, and not finding a believable download site. Any advice would be much appreciated.
With thanks,

A:download microsoft office 2003 to windows 8.1 computer

You do realize that all MS Office 2003 applications will cease to be supported along with XP on April 8th? However XP will continue to be supported for a little longer only with malware related updates. But as far as functionality or fixes and general support. It ends on April 8th.So what you want to do is download an end of life, imminent loss of support product on a brand new OS?So unless you have the application software already, any download will be suspect and I wouldn't trust it.

Yesterday I started downloading 8.1 on a Windows 8 system for hours but it still wouldn't finish.  I shut down the computer and tried to restart today hoping it would resume as I expect it works like Windows Update which would always resume, when restarts,
from where it leaves off when computer shuts down.  I restarted the Windows Store and there was no sign of anything has been partially downloaded.
Could it be clarified how the Windows Store download works?  If the download cannot be interrupted, how long the 8.1 download would take.  I understand the download is onlya little more than 3 gigabytes.  I had downloaded some operating system
software up to 2 gigabytes from Microsoft server, it didn't seem to take that long.

I have several Windows 7 OEM Installation CD's.  Microsoft is about to stop supporting Windows 7 in January of 2020.  I want to download (and save to disc), each and all individual Service Packs, and all subsequent updates, etc..., so that I
can install them in the future (after future hardware failures and reloads). Where can I download and save to disc all of these updates?  Installing updates from Windows Update automatically adds the updates to the OS, but I want to keep them for backups,

Frustrated. I had posted this issue nearly two weeks ago out of desparation and have been doing research across multiple tech forums to fix my desktop issues...found out the symptoms ain't unique.

Background: I began having slow internet issues, specifically downloads, with my HP Windows 7 (64bit) desktop about 6 months after purchase (it is a 1.5 year old dinosaur). At the time, I was running McAfee and kept getting the annoying "your firewall is down, click to upgrade" message. I ran Malware Bytes, uninstalled McAfee (so I thought), and downloaded my ISP (Comcast) Norton security suite from their site. Download speed situation didn't improve and then I began to get the Norton 5013,3 Error Code. As advised by one of the guys here, I ran the McAffee complete uninstall as well as Norton's. Added to that, my firewall was down, so I did a deep scan (nothing malicious detected) and then the popular BFE and other step by step stuff provided by a kind soul on the Microsoft community forum to fix registry issues. Firewall is back on and I am now using MSE for security protection - had enough of Norton/McAfee. Yesterday, I activated service on a "new and improved" Comcast modem which I am supposed to be able to get the most out of the speed available. My speed test for downloads on the HP desktop: 0.5Mbps.

Latest research indicated a potential communication issue between my Linksys router (model WRT160N version 1.0) and Windows 7...requires... Read more

In ?Windows Update? I have selected the recommended option of ?install updates automatically? and left the timing at the default of ?Every day at 3:AM.? I typically shut down my computer every night, so it is not running at 3AM. After my computer is turned on will I still get the Windows Update downloads? Will they install automatically at some point?
I am running Vista Home Premium 64bit on a Dell XPS 435MT.

A:Must computer be turned on at scheduled time for Windows Update to download updates?

Yes your computer needs to be turned on. If it's not, and you don't update manually, it will simply wait until you are powered on at 3am. And, if you are never powered on at 3am, you will never update.

When I try to download .exe files, my computer either saves it as 0KB or downloads it and then doesn't let me open the file. No windows pop up to tell me the file is forbidden or anything - clicking just doesn't get a response. I don't think this has to do with the browser I'm using, because this happens on Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer, but for some reason my computer can open .exe files other people downloaded and put on thumb drives for me. This problem possibly predates my installation of Windows 7. (I've had this problem for over a year and a half but decided to find it entertaining rather than annoying enough to fix.)

I use Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware and have an out of date version of Avast on my computer (I would uninstall it, but that requires an .exe file on their website), if that's relevant.

I want to upgrade my Acer Aspire Notebook from Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit to Windows 7 SP1 32-bit.  It qualifies for the "Supported Upgrade Scenerios" and my system passed the Windows 7 install compatibility test.  I found
the Windows 7 download page, but when I enter the Microsoft Product Key on the back of my Acer Aspire Notebook it doesn't accept it.
How do I resolve this problem?  I can't get Chat to work (loops me back to automated system) and I can't find a email or phone number for Microsoft to assist me.
Please help.  Thank you.
TO CLARIFY: Entering the product key on the microsoft windows 7 download page in order to do the download is where the key fails, not during installation.  I can't even get past the download approval.

Hello All,

Please excuse my lack of Computing terminology when writing this - I am a complete novice in the use of a Computer having been entirely `self taught` on just the basics.

I clicked onto the `Get Windows 10` button on the Windows 10 upgrade onscreen display [the display that has the Time counting down to the expiry of the free Windows 10 upgrade offer] - a different onscreen display box appeared with the message `Starting download..... Once download is complete, you can start the upgrade, or schedule it for later`.

An Hour later there was no download amount that I would associate with the Windows 10 upgrade download.

My download amount in that period was just 14MB which I associate with my looking at Emails and a small update on my AVG Anti Virus Software.

I waited about another Hour before posting this as I had something else to attend to - now as I am about to submit this message the Windows 10 Download was supposed to start downloading almost 2 Hours ago - still no indication of a large download beginning.

I have a Download Meter on my Computer which I know to be really accurate but even if it was not I was expecting a `Massive` download when upgrading to Windows 10.

I am guessing that I will be advised to Close the Windows 10 download onscreen display box and try clicking onto `Get Windows 10` again but I wanted to check whether there might be a fairly long `Pre-download` process that is carried out prior to the actual download commencing and I did not... A free download manager designed to integrate seamlessly with Windows 7 is now available from Microsoft. Dubbed the Microsoft Download Manager, the utility is designed, as the label implies, to help users administer their downloads beyond the boundaries of the browser. More often than not, downloading very large files can be problematic, especially in the context of an unreliable connection. It is precisely in scenarios like these that a download manager will carry out any download tasks to the end, unlike browsers missing this functionality.

?The Microsoft Download Manager enables you to download files from the Internet in a more reliable and faster way than using a browser alone. Using the Download Manager makes it easier to download large files such as an application or multimedia files,? Microsoft explained.

According to the Redmond company, the Microsoft Download Manager comes to the table with support not only for Windows 7, but also for Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2 and SP3. Microsoft Download Manager was designed to work with Internet Explorer 8, IE7 and IE6 but also with Firefox 3 and Firefox 2.

My computer is a 10 month old Windows 7, 64 bit emachine with AMD Anthion 2850e processor, nvidia GeForce 6150SE Integrated, 320 GB HDD, 2GB DDr2 memory, has slowed to a crawl. I hope this is enough information because my pc refused to download the TSG SysInfo!

I'm a college student and had saved a lot of papers which may have started it all, I copied those to a memory stick, uninstalled all programs I don't use, a few I use infrequently, run AVG, CCleaner, and several registry cleaners which worked for about 15 min., and then back to running slower than dial up. My internet speed is 6.0 fiber optic and it takes an hour to do anything on the pc.

I tried to download the bleeping computer links for over an hour and am unable to do so. I am tearing my hair out in frustration because I have been late on several college papers becuase of the pc running so slow.

HELP! ok, now I cannot do an attachment for the Hijack This, which also would not copy by itwelf onto notepad I had to copy and past myself, so following this I will paste it again.

Anybody who can help or has any other suggestions, I would appreciate, I am supposed to be completing my BS in psche and am driiving myself crazy...I may be my first client!

A large number of PC users today use USB drives to install Windows operating system thanks to dirt cheap USB drives and plenty of free tools out there for creating bootable USB drives.

Back in Windows XP and Vista days, most users were not even aware of the fact that it?s possible to install Windows operating system from USB drives. The method became popular with the release of Windows 7 Beta in January 2009. Plenty of free utilities have been released since than with variety of options to help users create bootable USB to install Windows operating system from USB drive.

After the release of Windows 7 RTM in October 2009, Microsoft also released its official Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to help users easily make USB drives bootable and then install Windows from the bootable USB drive.

The official Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool is one of the largely used tools to prepare bootable USB of Windows operating system. Recently I accidentally stumbled upon a website through a pop-up that installed a trojan on my computer named, trojan.downloader.win32.tracur.T. I had it sent to a computer guy to have it removed and he got it off but had to rewrite a lot of my registry. Just around the same time that happend, I noticed some other problems. My computer won't let me download any .exe files or even use a disc like World of Warcraft Game CD to download even after the trojan was taken off. I had hoped the trojan was the problem but apparently not. Also I tried using iTunes Store from my iTunes Library and it says "Connection timed out, check your internet settings" over and over no matter how many times I restart the computer or try to fix the internet settings. I'm not sure what to do.. I've set my internet settings at default level, tried turning off the firewall, but it continues not to work..

My computer just got back from repairs, it broke because of a virus but I was having trouble before that because I think I deleted a driver or something when trying to clear my PC, anyway basically now I can`t download anything, not a single program or picture, If I try and save a picture for example, it downloads and then when I try and open it it says the file is empty. If I try and download something I get an error message, for example I just tried to download Teamspeak and got this when I went to install it.

C:\Users\Maureen\Downloads\ts2_client_rc2_2032.exe is not a valid Win32 application

I get that same message for everything I download that isnt a picture.

now to me that error message might aswell be in French because I have no idea what it means, so its why I have come here for help, you can only run a computer for so long and not be able to download anything before its pretty much worthless and should be thrown out the window.

A:Download pop-up when I first log on to computer

Hello scohen23 and welcome.

You are infected. Windows 7 has a very robust System Restore and you'd do best to try that first. If you are unsure how to carry that out, please refer to this link ==> http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...m-restore.html

After you've done that, please run a new scan with dds.scr and post the logs it produces.

My computer won't let me install anything through the internet onto my computer.
NOTE; My computer is french for some reason. If you could also help me change my laptop to english, that would be appreciated.

The message is as follows:

C:/WINDOWS/TEMP n'a pu être enregistré car vous ne pouvez changer le contenu de ce répertoire. Changez les propriétés du répertoire et essayez à nouveau, ou essayez d'enregistrer ailleurs.

Again, if I can have my computer in english, that would be nice.

(My laptop is running on Vista if that helps.)

About a month or so ago, my computer started playing random audio, I restored it to an earlier date.  Since then, I have been getting this strange task.eng dos box that pops up randomly, really quickly, and then disappears and since then I have no longer been able to download anything to my computer at all.  Whenever I download, it says windows has detected a virus in download, deleting and the file deletes itself.  This is extremely aggrivating!  I've purchased hundreds of dollars now in malware software both via the internet (using a different computer to download) and through my local Best Buy and none of them detect anything.  I've downloaded/run combofix, rkill, and TDSS something to no avail.  I've tried restoring to an earlier date but no matter what date I restore to, I still have the same problem.  I wanted to try to restore my settings to factory default but it says i have to have a windows operating disk to do so, which I do not have.  I am not super computer saavy so there is really a limit on what I can do and I really don't want to spend $200 that the computer geeks at Best Buy have told me it will cost me.  I need this fixed ASAP as I regularly work on my computer and it is starting to interfere with my work.  Anybody have any ideas???

When I want to download something then click run,a screen pops up. It says
"Windows cannot open this file. To open this file windows needs to know what program created it.Windows can go online to look it up automatically or you can manually select a program from the list. What do you want to do? Use the web to find the appropriate program or select a program from the list. OK or Cancel

If I click the web, and then click ok, it says windows can't find the page.
exe is the last 3 letters the file name.
