I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I need to do a clean install of Windows 10 on my girlfriends Lenovo Yoga 2. I noticed there are five different partitions on her computer...have no idea what is going on here. Should I use Parted Magic and just Secure Erase the SSD and then proceed on with the Windows 10 installation?

Hello, I have decided to do a clean install of Windows 10 Professional (x64) on my Lenovo X1 Yoga (20FQ). I'm currently pulling my hair out trying to install Windows 10 in UEFI mode, I want to do this so I can use the full functionality of the TPM chip and bitlocker. No matter what I do I have not been able to install Windows 10 Professional (x64) in UEFI mode, I've only been able to install it in legacy mode. I've tried multiple configurations of the BIOS in terms of disabling Legacy/enable UEFI OS to boot but when I put the BIOS in UEFI only mode the Windows 10 Professional (x64) USB key (that I've created using the .iso downloaded with the Microsoft Download Tool), the machine refuses to boot from the USB key or the PCIe-NVMe when in UEFI Only mode. Can someone point me to a guide for installing Windows in UEFI mode?

After i upgraded to BIOS 2XCN30WW(V2.05) dated 2017/06/21 i started to experience lags and temporary freezes (for 20/30 seconds and it would recover) while using windows 10 creators edition. The lag/freeze can be described as a period of time every 10 minutes or so in which the computer stops responding to keyboard input and eventually to mouse movements, if you had a youtube video or audio playing in the background it starts coming out distorted, everything makes you think there is something hogging the CPU or RAM, it recovers itself after 20 or 30 seconds, sometimes less than that.I first blamed Slack Client but quickly found that it didn't have anything to do. It didn't seem related to load as the CPU/RAM usage in Task Manager remained low during these periods.I then blamed a recent Windows Update patch , which i rolled back prompty without noticing any changes. My last option and what ultimately resolved the issue is the rolling back the BIOS upgrade that i applied at about the same time of the windows patch.I enabled the Allow Back-Flash option in BIOS setup and rolled back to version 2XCN29WW, and the problem dissapeared for good, and just to confirm that the BIOS was to blame after a few days of happy computing i decided to give the new BIOS another try and TADAH! soon after the update the freeze/lags started again.I just wanted to share this with you guys in hopes that if you are having similar issues you can resolve them using this message. And since Lenovo doesn't seem... Okay so I got the Lenovo 310-15IKB. It comes with windows 10, but I need it to run Windows 7. I go into BIOS, Turn on legacy support and tell it to start legacy first. I open Boot menu and tell it to run from my flash drive that I have inserted in one of the two 2.0 USB ports. It loads, I press install now to install windows 7, but here I run into some issues. It gives me this message. Load Driver:A requiered CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step. I can then press Browse, Ok or Cancel. Please advice. I am at a loss of what to do or how to proceede. I have used teh USB to install windows on other computers, and I have formated it and re created it as well and tested on other computers to see if it works and it does, but on the lenovo it is giving me a hard time. I have also flashed the BIOS, installed all the latestes drivers from the Lenovo support page. Do I lack other drivers? Are there intel drivers I am missing? The usb works tho as it does register and boot up the windows process from the USB, but then it is missing drivers at the instalation? Man I am at such a loss here. Please advice.

Hi Xuw,Welcome to the community, nice to have you here. You may need to inject the drivers into the Win7 installer that you are using in order for Win7 to install, as you know this system was intended for Win10, so you are going to have to look for these drivers. I would recommend downloading the Chipset drivers for the Intel motherboard. Hope this helps. Cheers,

We got users with "clean install" Windows 10 on the ThinkPad Yoga 370 instead of factory image.  in Lenovo Settings, audio, dolby section, the presets that are in OEM load are all missing.  we tried uninstall Lenovo Settings, Conexant audio driver, SIF, reinstall, same things - the enable button is there, but no profiles for dynamic, movie, music, gaming, and voice. anyone have seen this issue (or on other machines?), any idea how to reinstall those?  i wonder whether we are missing some pieces.

Currently I'm playing music on Google Play music which plays fine until I'm about to click on another page or go to the home of google play for example and it stutters for a few seconds. Also not sure if this is related, when I use my bluetooth speaker, audio stutters really bad, worse than when using internal speakers. Possibly two different problems but for now I really only care about the internal speakers stuttering as I rarely use my bluetooth speakers on my pc. Any hardware can be specified.

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 720 - 15IKB two weeks ago. The laptop works fine except for one important detail: it has never recognized the AC adapter as being plugged in. Basically when the PC is on, even if plugged in, it will drain down to 5% and turn itself off. But when it is off and plugged in, it charges up to 100% battery without a problem. How can I get my laptop to charge while plugged in? As it charges without issue when turned off, I want to think it is more of an issue with drivers or BIOS than the AC adapter and power connection.  All Windows updates and Lenovo System Updates have been installed, except for one: BIOS Update - 10 [64]When I install and then run this update, I get this blue screen of death Windows Error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Battery drivers in the Device Manager several times. I restored battery settings to default, tweaked them, and set them back to default with no avail. Can anyone help or make any suggestions??? Thank you very much!

I am having a hard time believeing this is the case, and was wondering if anyone else has had heard anything. Thanks

Dear Community, I just bought my Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB last February 2018, i had a suspicion about my battery condition, i just run an diagnostic using lSC lite provided by Lenovo with this result. I need to ask about the battery capacities, is it normal my notebook designated capacity with 6345 MAH, but my battery full charge capacity deducted to 6075 MAH. I use this notebook without charging while using and always charge the battery while the system told me to charge my battery and charge to 100% , than unplugged the charger. Thank You

Hi there,  My very new Lenovo Yoga 710 (15" IKB) laptop/two-in-one has been fantastic so far except in one regard. Whenever I play a game, the fan gets quite loud and the temperature shoots up. I'm not one hundred percent sure if this happened in the first few days but I have come to notice it far more recently. When playing a pretty standard game, such as World of Warcraft, the temp will shoot up to somewhere around 65 degrees celsius (sometimes up to 70) with the bottom getting quite hot, and the fans will become quite loud. Even a very low requirement game, like FIFA 15 (which is obviously 2 years old now), can cause the temp to reach about 60 degrees and the fans to get loud, and when dowloading a driver from Nvidia I noticed that the temperature had again risen, this time to 52 degrees with the fans spinning loudly again. I had earlier had a display issue that I fixed by downloading diplay drivers from Lenovo's website. I'm not sure if there's any driver I could download to rectify this issue (I already updated BIOS from the download on Lenovo's website)?

I've been extremely frustrated with both the screen flickering and crashing during sleep issues.  I figured before I buy a laptop from another company that I would at least try a reformat. I was expecting devices to not be fully installed after the reformat but Device Manager does not show any issues.  PC is also running fine besides the fact that the trackpad doesn't right click properly and the resolution is off which probably can be addressed by installing the proper drivers.  What else should I install, though?

A:Yoga 2 Pro - fresh install of Windows 10 - what should we install from Lenovo's download page?

Download/install Lenovo System Interface Foundation for Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit)...IdeaPad.... That should install, among other things, Lenovo Vantage (ex-Companion.) Use its System Update function to find drivers/updates, download and install them on your system. You don't have to install everything but if you have "screen flickering and crashing during sleep issues" then I'd make sure to at least get the latest chipset, display, video, power management, etc. drivers.

P.S. If you suspect that particular driver(s) may be causing issues, then install them one at a time to identify which one(s) are bad.

On a Yoga 3 pro that had a corrupted and unbootable version of Windows 8.

I've managed to create a USB boot drive that the computer recognizes, I've deleted all partitions but when I attempt the clean reinstall I get "Windows cannot install required files, make sure all files required for the installation are available and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007013".

I've tried it multiple times with multiple USB drives. I've tried the Windows Media Creation tool (the computer won't even recognize it), I've tried it making a USB stick with Rufus (see above problem) and I've tried making one with Windows Media Creation tool, copying all the files off it, formatting with Rufus and copying all the files back, same problem. I've tried with Secure Boot on and with it off, I've tried with UEFI on and with it set to Legacy. No luck.

I'm normally pretty good at this, but this has me stumped. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I can't boot from USB stick with UEFI, formatted with FAT32 and used the Windows USB Tool to create the media exactly like your instructions in this case. What can I do?  I also tried installing from a second partition but the Windows setup says that there is a MBR-partition table so I am not able to install Windows on that drive. On the other hand Acronis Disk Director isn't able to format the SSD to GPT......that's a real dilemma.....I am at the end of my knowledge. Can somebody help me?

hello, I just did a clean install of windows 10 on my yoga 900-13ISK2. can somone provide me instructions on how to reinstall drivers (i get you download the file from the site and just execute it) but i know drivers and utilities required to be installed in certain order. I also want to make sure i install all of the drivers and not put any bloat wear. My computer is a signature edition, so i would like to install all drivers and programs that came out the box.

A:Yoga 900 Laptop windows clean install

Drivers are of course needed for the hardware devices on your system to work properly, and many will be delivered by Windows Update, but I would probably update them with the versions found on the Lenovo Support site.   The order that they are installed, however, is not really important as long as you reboot when requested.   As far as software and utilities, you don't really need any of those for your laptop to work, and only you can determine what software or utilities you think are useful, and what you consider bloatware. Cheers,

Hello, I just recently clean installed windows 10 on my Lenovo Yoga 500-14IBD, replacing the 1TB HDD with a 128GB SSD (I don't have that much stuff). Computer seems to launch apps faster (most of the time) and also starts up faster, but my internet browsing is still kind of laggy.  So i'm wondering If i need to change the computer in anyway (BIOS, etc?) now it has a SSD rather than the shipped with HDD. Also, the clean install has taken all my preinstalled Lenovo programs so I also wonder if this will affect the performance of my laptop(- or is it better)? Because I went to the support page for my laptop and downloaded a driver for the touchpad thinking it would be the newest available and before it downloaded it said it was older than the driver it would be replacing, which I thought strange and it's got me asking if the support page is kept up to date? Ideally I would download a Lenovo app that ckecks my system for out of date or absent Lenovo software that should be there. If anyone could answer those questions I would be extremely grateful. Thanks, David

I have bought a Lenovo Z50-75 with AMD processor and AMD graphics and a 1TB HDD, but have found to it to be extremely slow and have decided to put in a new SSD and do fresh install of Windows. I am very disappointed with the speed of this thing. (1) Since, the machine did not come with any recovery disk how do I reinstall windows 10 on an empty SSD put into it?(2) I would prefer that I not have to deal with Bloatware and crapware to get better performance, how do I make sure that I don't end up with it again?(3) This machine certainly has the windows 10 product key stored inside the hardware which should be picked up by the installer. However, if I decide that I don't want this Windows 10 rather I want Windows 7 or less likely Windows 8, what shall be the procedure then? I am including Windows 7 and 8 here too since I may decide to change to them on this extra laptop of mine and make sure that it never makes me update to Windows 10.

(1) Since, the machine did not come with any recovery disk how do I reinstall windows 10 on an empty SSD put into it?Comment: Use the Novo button to access the recovery menu to restore the unit to factory condition or if you have your own backup image you can use it. Read the manual.(2) I would prefer that I not have to deal with Bloatware and crapware to get better performance, how do I make sure that I don't end up with it again?Comment: You can clean install. However, you will removing the Lenovo recovery feature forever.(3) This machine certainly has the windows 10 product key stored inside the hardware which should be picked up by the installer. However, if I decide that I don't want this Windows 10 rather I want Windows 7 or less likely Windows 8, what shall be the procedure then?Comment: It will be the same procedure. Just see to it that you have the necessary drivers for whatever version you decide. Expect some surprises since the unit is supposed to be made and tested for Win 10.

I just purchased a Lenovo Z50-70 and want to remove the bloatware and perform a clean install. I was able to retrieve the product key using a key finder software but can't figure out how to go about performing this clean install.

I've downloaded a windows 8.1 ISO and put it on both a DVD and a USB flash drive and trying booting to both but I keep getting some message about cable being disconnected and it doesn't seem to process through.

The version of windows 8.1 is OEM 64-bit.

Also, I'm looking to upgrade to Windows 10 when it's available and I hear that it will be a free upgrade for at least a year, if not more. So, I'd like to make sure whatever I do now allows me to make the upgrade in the future.

Any help you guys can provide would be great!!!

Hello community, i own a brandnew Yoga 720 13 IKB and i clean installed windows 10 Education on just 1 partiton as Iam used it from my older notebooks. The install itself worked fine but the issue now is that windows wont update, there comes always the error "?There isn?t enough memory available to create ramdisk device. Error code:-0xc0000017 ..."I already tried all solutions I could find at the internet but nothing helped. How can I partition my HDs as they were before i clean installed my new windows. Do i have to to use  GPT for my SSD and all the partitions I create because I cant run the SSD anymore as Raid as it did before. So how should I set everything on my lenovo yoga (settings before clean install) so that i can run the windows clean install and updates without problems anymore. I already installed the newest BIOS Version. My other question is if I can use the neweste intel drivers for example Wlan and VGA or is it better to use the lenovo ones, which are pretty old?The last question is, how or where can I find my old Windows 10 Home Key of my Yoga 720 (in Bios, how?)Thank you so far and sorry for my english, Iam german :-)

Hello guys!

I have been chocking on this problem for 2 days now, to no avail. The short story: Tried to do the built in free windows upgrade on the computer (from windows 8.1), but something went wrong, and I ended up in the "Please restart to being the installation of windows 10" loop.
After trying several workarounds, I gave up, and opted for a clean install of the product from a USB drive.

The install went smooth, and most things were working out of the box, but not the touch screen. Then I went to the product page, and downloaded all the drivers there are. Installed every one of them, but still no touch input. Tried some troubleshooting tips, like trying to find the driver in the device manager, but it's not present there. So far, I tried everything there was in the first 4 pages of google (with an insane amount of search combinations).

Nothing...Then I read it, that several other people had this issue, but with an earlier insider build of windows. They said the only solution there was, is to use the built in recovery, but out of routine, with a clean install, I deleted every other partition... not giving a thought something could go wrong.

Now the device has no touch input, and sicne that was one of the main sell points, I'm not too happy about it.

The System window clearly states, that there is no pen or touch input available.

It's a fresh buy, so it's still under warranty, and if nothing else works, I will return it, ... Read more

I have just installed Win 8 on a Lenovo Yoga 2 11 Laptop.

Originally l updated to Windows 10 and the machine completely freaked. Having struggled with an ISO image on a USB stick of Windows 10, l've reverted to reinstalling a fresh copy of Windows 8, which is what the laptop originally came with.

After installing Windows 8 and restarting the machine it repaired D Drive then machine shut down, and upon restart it is just stuck at "Getting Ready".

What should l do as lm getting frustrated, having been stuck on this screen for 5 hours now?

I have a brand new HD that l could install and attempt the installation on, but would appreciate any help or suggestions first.

Many thanks in advance.
