I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I got a new d-link wireless N router the other day which solved most of my slow internet problems. It is a dual band router and supports 5ghz but my current network card is only 2.4ghz. I'm in an apartment complex so I figure if I run it on the 5ghz band I will get much less interference from other people's wifi. Only problem is I cant really find a dual band pci card??? The only one i've found is a Linksys WMP600N. I was hoping there were some more options out there. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm needing to update my wifi card to a dual band AC & have been unable to find a definitive answer on the compatibilty of Intel cards (specifically the AC-7260) with AMD. Will it work? If not, where can I find the best upgrade options? Is there any type of list of compatible upgrade options anywhere? I have the U-Verse 1G & a Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 & currenlty max out at around 45mbs down via wireless. I can consistently get around 600-650mbs down via ethernet. I tried the Netgear A6210 usb wifi adapter (dual AC) & it worked for a while (400-450mbs) but now I'm having detection issues with it (apparently pretty common) & I'm tired of having to deal with the dongle anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated

A:dual band wifi card vs single band wifi card

I should get dual or single band wifi for a laptop that I would like to purchaseClick to expand...

do you mean a router
or as part of the laptop spec ?

what router do you have and does it work in dual band simultaneously

the advantage of the 5ghz signal is if you are in a crowded 2.4ghz environment then 5ghz helps avoid interference - also the coverage is wider - although the 5ghz router i have linksys - does not seem to be

if your current router only works in 2.4ghz , then no advantage in the short term

some routers are advertised as dual band - but you have to choose between 2.4 or 5 ghz and so ALL devices will need to support 5ghz

A:Dual Band network card for the Probook 450 G2

Yes it is new enough not to have the whitelist so you can install any wireless card with the right form factor.  Here is the Service Manual: Manual See p. 45. HP offered this one which is the top of the line: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 BT 4.0 combo adapter 756753-001 Available on Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/710661-001-Intel-Wireless-ac-7260-Pci-express/dp/B00PDLCFL8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1470826413&sr=8-1&keywords=756753-001 This is a drop-in plug and play replacement. You would want to get the driver files on the hard drive (like maybe the desktop) and have them available before you make the swap to be sure the card will work once you reboot Windows. Pick your OS from the drop-down menu here: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=6943827&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4059 You need the Intel wireless and Intel bluetooth drivers.  If you need more help post back.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

A:Approved dual band card for S410p

Hello and welcome,

The best source I know is the parts list in the Hardware Maintenance Manual - IdeaPad S410p, S410p Touch, S510p, S510p Touch .  WLAN cards are on page 80.  I don't see any that are dual band from the description  - but I haven't checked each one individually.

As you probably know, to pass the BIOS whitelist check a card must be an approved model and have a Lenovo FRU number (firmware modified for Lenovo).

Hey guys and girls. First post in the forum here I'm about to upgrade some parts on my Pav G6 1344sa, namely replace the HDD with a SSD and replace the DVD drive with the HDD, replace the tired keyboard for a new one and upgrade the wifi card for a 5G dual band so i can untilize the speed of my newly installed fibre broadband. After a bit of research i have read there maybe issues getting the Intel AC 7260 card i just ordered to work in this notebook. Can anyone confirm if it will work? I read that some users have used a tweak of covering pin 20 and/or pin 51 with tape to make it compatible, anyone tried this or can explain how this works? Cheers

A:Intel AC 7260 Dual band wi-fi card compatibility

No it will not work and the covering of the pins is actually a Lenovo trick that I have never seen anybody recommend for an HP. I would think it will not work since the problem is a whitelist. The card has to prove to the BIOS what it is, not hide what it is from the BIOS so stopping the identification data from being read will just cause the wifi card to be rejected by the BIOS. As stated, there is a BIOS whitelist and only the specific HP branded wifi cards originally offered with the laptop will pass and allow the system to boot past BIOS. If you want that list just post back.

I'm having problems with my pavilion 17-G192DX.  when I have the wifi on, it works for about 10 minutes, then basically shuts down my home network - TV locks up, no other computers can access the internet.  As soon as I turn the wifi off, everything goes back to normal.  HP troubleshooting can find nothing...when the thing is working, that is.  I'd like to upgradethe wifi card with a dual band unit?  I'm thinking the Intel 7260 2x2.  Will that work in this computer?  Any other options?  P/N is V0Q01UA.

A:can I put a dual band wifi card in my pavilion 17-G192DX not...

Yes you can install any wireless card of the right form factor which for your laptop is an M.2 adapter. See the Manual here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04655191 The 7260ac is a mini-pcie card and is not compatible but you could MAYBE install an Intel 8260ac card: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-8260AC-8260NGW-Bluetooth-Wireless/dp/B01ERMBDCK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&q... Start on p. 31 with removal of the back cover and read through p. 39. The hesitation is that, to install a dual band card you must have 2 antennae and on some HP models with lower-end wireless cards there is only one. So if you want to do this I recommend open it first and count antennae. If two, you can install the card linked above, which will perform as well as any wireless card you can buy.  Let us know if there are other questions.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as SOlution" to help others find it.

Your notebook has a wifi adapter that matches the 1x1 antenna that is installed in your notebook. A 2x2 antenna setup is required for an adapter that will  work on the dual band setup.   So.. unless you are technically competent enough to upgrade the antenna, it would be a waste of your money because it would not work.

At times, when I click to open the list of available networks, 2.4GHz may appear momentarily only and then disappears; thus I can not choose it for connection. I would appreciate any help to resolve this issue so that my OMEN laptop shows both the bands in the list of available networks so as to choose either one for connection.

A:Replace Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card

Hi, welcome to TechSpot

Since nobody has answered this thread, i will give a generic how-to-guide...
i have no experience with a fujitsu, but if it's like most laptops, there will be an access panel on the bottom of the case. it's usually a just 1 screw then it pulls up and out which will give you access to your mini PCI card.

mini-PCI cards lock in similar to laptop RAM sticks, there will be 2 locking tabs toward the top of the card, release them both at the same time and the card should "pop" up, then simply pull it out. it will be the opposite procedure to instal the new one

hope this helps... good luck

Hello, I just got my E560 on 9/27/16. It has windows 7, 64 pro installed. I plugged in the battery and waited an hour or so before turning the system on. Everything booted ok and I entered my hidden router for my wifi. Unfortuanly, it would not connect. I finally dug out an old ethernet cable to hook up and test the system and download some software. I then unhid my router and still was not able to find it. Everyones router in the neigborhood showed up but mine. I call tech support but they claimed that it was my routers software. I have 4 other devices working just fine on the wifi and I even set my printer up for wifi while the router was hidden with no problem. I checked the Lenovo site for updates but the system said everything was up to date. I went to the Intel site and downloaded their current driver for this card. The laptop finally noticed the router while it was unhidden and I again hid the router and rebooted my Laptop. This cured the problem. However, I was displeased with Customer service they tried to tell me it was a problem with my router and not the system and all my drivers shipped from the factory were up to date. I hope this will help anyone who has a similar problem.

WLAN/BT, Intel 7260BN 2x2BN+BT PCIE NGFF WLAN  and was not offered any AC WLAN .

Usually , "unauthorized network card" are encountered during this scenarios.

There are those that manage to upgrade it to the AC 7260 done here on this discussion using Windows 8 and also on this article  .

In Windows 10 , seems that further connectivity issue are being encounted and each fixes are different from the others as here in this thread.

Issues finding resolution is not OEM issues alone but also being shared by the software operating system.

It would be better to test it on a spare first before deciding on any upgrades for purchase.

Highlighted discussions a bit lengthy so just take your tinme on the review.
Hope this answered your query.

I have decided to fix up my older laptop instead of buying a new one. I recently added RAM & a new hard drive, 1TB, 7200 RPM with Advanced Formatting. I would like to know if I can replace my wireless card with with a wireless/Bluetooth card. I currently have a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC. what do I have to take into consideration before I buy a new card? Will a Bluetooth card even work with my system?Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

A:Can I replace the Wi-Fi card on my laptop?

Here's the Service manual: Manual It says you have 2 antennae. You have no whitelist...the laptop is new enough to be past that era.  An Intel 7260ac is offered but only on 17 inch models which means to me that the slot in your laptop may only accept half-height modules.  The best that HP offered for your model is: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 combo adapter for use only with HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC computer models or HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC computer models 710662-005 It is a half-height 2 antenna mini-pcie module:  You could use this non-HP half-height version of the 7260AC: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-DUAL-BAND-AC-7260HMW-802-11ac-Bluetooth-4-0-7260AC-867Mbps-WiFi-Card-/222446724633?hash=item33cadba619:g:mCkAAOSwhQhY0Nzm If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

Hi, I would be replace the wireless card installed on my HP 15-ac622nl (Realtek RTL8723BE), with another one that supports 802.11ac protocol. Is there a list of compatible wireless module? and if yes....where can I find it? In the manual I see only three wireless card:- Broadcom BCM43142- Realtek RTL8188EE- Realtek RTL8723BE (currently installed)...but all support only 802.11 b/g/n protocol. So, I've tried a card "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265, 2230, 2 x 2 AC + B"  but didn't worked: at start on the screen appear an error like this "Wireless Module not supported"....  :-(Now, I'm here to ask you if an "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC WiFi e Bluetooth Card 3165NGW" may will work or not.Thank you

since I upgraded to Windows 10 my wireless driver is no longer compatible with Win 10 OS and continuosly drops connection which requires a wifi reset and most times a restart. HP no longer supports this product and no new drivers were made available after Windows 7. after some research it was suggested to use windows 7 drivers but those drivers weren't copatible either, my present card is an Intel 4965AGN MM1 full length mini pci-e 3X3 mimo, I need a wireless card that is compatible with my laptop hardware and has current drivers that are compatible with windows 10, can anyone help to resolve this problem?

It's apparent that my laptop's graphic card is messed up. When the computer is switched on, the screen first goes white an after a long time, half the screen turns black.I'm forced to switch off the main power then. My laptop is an HP one, 2.0 Ghz,2 gb ram and 128 MB Nvidia AMD graphics. I bought it in late 2007. I heard it's not possible to replace graphic card; but how can I check whether it can be replaced ? It has an expansion port on it's left side and a slot in the right side.

Also, how much long will it to take replace it (at the repair store I mean) ?

What is the highest speed possible when connecting the wireless-AC wifi card to a wireless-N router? My wireless-N machines get 100Mbps speeds on my wireless-N router but the wireless-AC machine only gets 35Mbps.  I understood "AC" to be backwards compatible with "N".  Is does connect but the speed is much lower than the "N" equiped machines. Do I actually need an "AC" router?
